Our Little Rape Girl?

by murphy on July 25, 2009

in profound question of the day

In Phoenix on Wednesday a very little girl was gang-raped and then disowned by her family for disgracing their supposedly pre-existing honor (Excuse me for my American exceptionalism, but in my book your family is not honorable until it actually accomplishes a feat worthy of honor. We debated this at good length yesyerday).

SO GO FUCK YOUR SELF SERVING IDEA OF FAMILY HONOR YOU PIG SUCKING TINY PRICKS.

On what fucking basis do you claim family honor you yellow-bellied cowards?

Call me tired. I am. When I started blogging I knew that Hillary had been the undeserving recipient of sexism but I had NO idea we would be protecting “our little rape girl” and of course I am glad we are but it never occurred to me that we would be. Call me on the verge of a nervous fucking breakdown, i AM.

our little rape girl.

like the little match girl perhaps? A comfortably cosseting tale of inhumanistic capitalism? A cautionary tale? Cautionary to WHOM? What can the little dead match girl learn from this lesson?

Who wants to adopt the tiny darling from Phoenix who has been abandoned by her family?

I am honestly beside myself with this. I would take this precious girl into my home right now. To heal, to comfort, to reassure, to recreate an existence different from the putrid reality they will try to impose on her.

Such a darling little girl.

What can we DO? If nothing then that’s it — but tell me dances and Flbarb and prplvette — is there nothing we can do?

We can apply for grant money to provide a safe place for young girls like this precious one. I’m 3 hours away from Phoenix. I can go get her and bring her to my house.

Elect women. (who will create laws requiring maximum penalties for crimes against women and children .)
Elect women . (who will stand up and speak out against rape , domestic violence and honor killings)
Elect women . (who will say ‘fuck you’ to those who would demand that US businesses be Shariah compliant )
Elect women . (who will ensure the protection of women and girls here and abroad from the torturous practices of honor killing and ‘forced marriage’ )
If you EVER want women and young girls to be elevated and protected then ELECT WOMEN !
Dumbasses (sorry , I had to add that in or it just wouldn’t feel right- no offense to the above mentioned pumas .)

Prowl Congress, especially the women, Prowl HRC, Prowl news media and give them all links to the story. Get it out there so it can’t be ignored. Email the local authorities in the area and see what they are doing. Let them know we are watching. I just got up so must catch up on the comments from last night.

For the love of Bob ! This shit IS NOT NEW ! Just because you (no one in particular) are recently aware and righteously outraged about recent stories of rape ,stoning , honor kiilings etc . does NOT mean it is some kind of brand new phenomenon . It has been going on for fucking ever and our government (controlled by men ) has turned a blind eye .
I give up . I am so sick of the Phyllis Phuckhead , and Ann Coulter , and Sara palin , and Sotomayor are bad women argument against electing women that my head is exploding .
ask any one of those women (none of whom are running for office ) if they think it’s appropriate for a child to be raped or for a woman to be stoned to death or how we should deal with countries whos National legislation condemns women to forced marriage etc. Then , if they give the wrong answer ( which is unlikely ), don’t elect them , but for shit sakes the current situation does not fucking work .

ELECT WOMEN
(dumbasses)

Murphy, I think the only way we can help this little girl right now is to pounce. I think she is in protective custody for a week? We need to contact every official, politician, social service personnel. First thing we need to try to do, is not allow her to go back to that so called family. Any attorney’s out there to help with an injunction? This would be a good case for the ACLU…no? How about Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson? Where are they now?….time to act, I will start today, we need a letter, someone please start drafting a letter. I think that’s the only thing we can do to help this beautiful little child. She is going to need years of love, comfort, medical and mental health therapy. WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING.
Secondly the so called laws. They have got to be changed. These rapists need to be in jail for life,or worse. I think they should used for medical testing…instead of the innocent animals that are used, they can put these putrid fucks in a small cage for the rest of their lives just like the animals are experiment on them for the rest of their sorry ass lives. I don’t know Murphy, all I know something has got to change we have to do something.
I am so upset about this it makes me physically sick. I just want to hug that child and look at her and tell her she is loved…
my heart is breaking.

One thing everyone here can do Go to the White House site as I have more than once and write an email to arrogant fraud Obama and tell him the next time he wants to talk off his arrogant cuff about something rather than demean a policeman how about
condemning THIS item…or ones like it.
Flood his White House email with comments. Don’t curse. Use your best lights and language and make at least his crony cronies of handlers and sycophants who read (if they do) the emails have to hear Truth rather than more of Obama ignorance.

TT – agreed electing women has to be done to make any long lasting changes in both the law and society. I think those that are shocked and outraged because the family rejected her over something she had no control over have supportive families. But many, many children do not have supportive families and they deal with this kind of thing all the time, so you are right – this is not new. Childhood rape is way more common in American than most people have any idea about.

Every day brings a new outrage.

All children should be removed from all families involved in this horror. Then deport them. How does the Dept of Immigration justify bringing people who engage in rape and child abandonment into the country. We have enough home-grown venal people in the U.S. flooding the legal and social services system, including an abundance of cannibalistic politicians here in NJ.

No mercy. I used to consider myself a kind and politically liberal woman, but those values have no place in this world. As far as I’m concerned, I now believe a policy of castration is the appropriate punishment for rape. These boys are little animals, should be neutered like animals, and then sent back to their country of origin.

Nobody mentioned the religion of this family. Why do I have this “gut feeling” that this family is Islamic? If this is, as I strongly suspect, Islam electing women isn’t going to solve this. The only thing that would solve it is to ban Islam from the U.S.- that would solve it HERE anyway, even though it would still be running rampant all over the world elsewhere. We can’t ban it here, though, thanks to our “politically correct” mindthink that it’s ok to bash women and Christians, but – oh, NOT the Islamics! To h-e-double-hockey-sticks with “politically correct” garbage! To h-e-double-hockey-sticks with Islam! Those of you who say Islam sucks. Well, I think that is way too mild express what it really is. I don’t have a word in my English vocabulary that even begins to describe what Islam really is.

14

Notyoursweetie 07.25.09 at 9:42 am

Interesting about the lack of mentioning of the religion. reminds me of the days when – a GOP-ers was caught pants down by the media, his political affiliation was carefully left out.
And, speaking of the media, Obama’s propaganda paper is crying “Uncle”

AniEm 07.25.09 at 9:49 am

At this point, all patriarchal religions have lost their bearings. In recent weeks, I’ve read that the Catholic Church excommunicated a 9 year old who had an abortion following rape. Meanwhile, we have the report of a Jewish rabbi harvesting human organs for re-sale. I don’t think there is an organized religion out there worthy of support. Women should be leaving all of them in droves.

16

HopePuma 07.25.09 at 9:57 am

This little girl is now scarred for life- and I don’t just mean physically. She has been “programmed” from birth (or so it seems) to think everything that happens bad is “her fault”. This will affect her very personality to very core. How do I know? I’ve lived it, as some of you have. You can bet your bottom dollar (if it has any value anymore) that this is not the first time she’s heard that something terrible was all her fault. You can take her out of the situation; but, unfortunately, it will be a lifetime job of trying to get the situation out of her now. :(

17

NikkisMom 07.25.09 at 9:59 am

HopePuma #13 – thank you for saying what I was afraid to say. This little girl has been double-whammied. First raped, then disowned. I can’t even fathom….

I think in addition to changing the face (pun intended) of government, we have to participate in big loud radical actions… we need an Act-up contingent, to show up on the steps of courts, media, the home offices of our so-called representatives, the homes and jobs of the putrids.

We need to demand the severest of penalties for boys and older males who seem to think they have some sort of right to violate girls, women, in all forms from physical to electronic.

The fucking, mutilation, and killings of girls and women by miscreants is not going to stop, it will only get worse. We are the ones who need to stop the vile insanity of the mutants among us, no one else will do it for us.

—————–
Why export the problem? Why send them back to where there is agreement for their barbarianism? Where the cultural beliefs are internalized and therefore perpetuated. The Rape Girl has a sister. I wouldn’t want her to go back. Her chances in the US are slightly better.

21

Headclunker 07.25.09 at 10:17 am

I have had some experience with our so called child protective services involving the molestation and attempted rape of a 3 year old girl. The best thing that could happen to her is that such a “family” of origin, give her up and that she be adopted by a family that loves her and will help her heal. If she is eight years old she has spent her formative years in a very unhealthy environment and so her chances are less than average.

My FIRST suggestion is: PRAY. Even if you do not believe in any God, just do it.

The mission of our child “protective” services is to successfully reunite the child with the family, even if they are the offenders. Many such agencies have even changed their name form “protective” to “regulatory” services, as that is a more accurate description of what they do.

My SECOND suggestion is that we find out about the policies and procedures of the child protective/regulatory services that are handling the case and act as watchdogs. She should be assigned a child advocate, beyond a case worker.

Let’s find out who her case worker is and make sure she has an advocate.

22

AniEm 07.25.09 at 10:23 am

HP,

At this point, Allah-Yahweh-Jesus are being used as imaginary dickheads to justify crimes against women. Religious icons have been corrupted and violated by their own priests-rabbis-imams. “By their fruits, you will know them”. Everyone of these bastards should be shut down. In the case of the 9 year old, she was excommunicated. Was her rapist also excommunicated? If not, why not? What’s the message?

23

HopePuma 07.25.09 at 10:28 am

#22 AniEm- she was excommunicated? From what? Where did I miss that? Was she from a Catholic home? Excommunication sounds Catholic not Islam. It sounds really odd for a Catholic family to react to her rapes the way they did, but it is very much the “norm” for Islamic families to do so. Don’t Islamic families tend to more either murder, or “ban” the female victim rather than excommunicate them?

The poll didn’t take into account the ethnicity of the voters, nor do we know the political party breakdowns. Last I heard he was still scoring well over 80% among democrats and A.A’s. As long as the dems and A.A.’s continue to wear blinders and continue to think anybody with the label “democrat” and any A.A. just has to be wonderful not matter what it may seem like, we’re going to continue to see that “strongly approve” and “somewhat approve” percentage higher than reality says it should be if people think rationally. Unfortunately, there are still too many people who aren’t thinking rationally, but are thinking party-line only, or thinking ethnicity only.

Speaking of ethnicity, I think O set back race relations. Even in the primaries, anyone who disagreed with him was called “racist”. Now,he’s quick to jump to the defense of an A.A. against a white cop even when the A.A. cop who was there defends the white cop. Based on the reports of those there (except for Gates) it wasn’t the cop who was racially biased against Gates, it was Gates who was racially biased against the cop. Just as if we disagreed with O it had nothing whatsoever with race! Things that had nothing to do with race before, now are being “front and center” race problems. O set back race relations a couple decades IMHO.

I believe he set race relations back…
It’s one thing to expose racism, and god knows it exists overtly and covertly, and it is quite another to use the racist accusation where there was none, in order to benefit oneself or justify ones actions.

I know the accusations of racism during the primaries, and beyond, have stunted my growth in that area, to the point where I shut down everytime race is brought up in conversation. I’m no longer willinmg to examine my own racist attitudes. That’s not to say that I will embrace and cultivate racism, but, I will not lend or expend any more energy than I already have, to fight against racism.

If it isn’t about girls and women’s issues, I couldn’t care less. And, as of 2008, I have a deafened ear to the “a rising tide lifts all boats” mantra. It’s bullshit, as we have learned.

The story may be a year old, but I only read about it recently. Thanks be to the Brazilian people who protested that insanity. And the question remains, was the rapist excommunicated? As far as “God forgave him” goes, HP, it is clear that God-abuse is rampant among patriarchal religions (especially convenient when excusing their own despicable behavior) and every single one of them has been rendered invalid. They defy belief because their own “holy” men behave as though God is deaf, dumb and blind. They don’t deserve allegiance or financial support or volunteer work from any woman anywhere.

The father is now begging to have his daughter back…I’m bringing up the link from my post in the thread below. Protective custody is keeping the girl for 3 months. She will go back to her dad, but I am wondering more about his change of heart. What sparked it? How safe will she be?

Zee 07.24.09 at 7:36 pm
For CJK and Waterpanther. I did see one news station say that the family “probably” was not Muslim, but so far no one’s confirmed one way or another.

Meanwhile, here is some more news on that sad story of the assaulted 8 year old Liberian girl in Phoenix:

http://www.abc15.com/content/news/phoenixmetro/central/story/Whos-to-blame-in-sex-assault-of-girl-Father-says/vVnrS0arLEWOaKd4GxrTJQ.cspx

I would recommend reading the whole thing. The Father wants his daughter back, says he needs and wants her back, and the child custody is holding her for a few more months.

But the most interesting thing is that the President of Liberia has commented on the case! A woman president. She says it is not a case of “shame” it’s a case of assault and that rape is a problem in Liberia…

====snip====

The President of Liberia called into CNN on Friday morning, saying rape is a problem in Liberia as well as the United States.

“This is not a question of shame on a family.. it’s a question of assault on a young child and that can not be tolerated,” said President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

====snip====

The “father” may have told about the money the child might bring in. Not just more social service payments but book deal, Oprah appearance etc.
The child has a 23 year old sister that was baby sitting her at the time.

——————————————–
Not safe at all. The best thing that could happen to that girl is to have them disown her. It is the mission of the child regulatory service to “successfully” reunite the child with the family. There are probably legal and financial penalties in abandoning her.

47

Zee 07.25.09 at 11:32 am

Compare this president to ours who thinks that a pissing match between a cop and a professor, which he entered by saying the word “stupid”—is a “teachable moment.” (gag me!):

Liberia’s Madam President spoke with CNN at length on the child’s rape.

It’s worth reading the entire interview. Madam President Sirleaf has been fighting for women’s rights in Liberia and she is actually sending the Liberian ambassador to this girl’s family. She thinks the family needs counseling and she’s saying that things are changing in Liberia as they are fighting the rape culture …

http://www.liberianobserver.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/17512/_We_Do_Not_Condone_This____7EPres._Sirleaf_Tells_CNN_.html

President Sirleaf: Let me say that we are deeply distressed at this behavior on the part of our young Liberians and very saddened for this eight year old child who has been so victimized. We appeal to the parents to protect their child and make sure that those who have infringed upon her in this manner are made to abide by the laws of the United Sates in this regard. Let me say very clearly that rape is a problem in Liberia. This is why we have made rape a non-bailable offense. It is a criminal offense; there is a strong law regarding that to where offenders cannot even get bail. So those parents should know that things have changed in Liberia and that no longer do we tolerate this. This is not a question of shame on the family. It’s a question of the assault of a young child; and that cannot be tolerated.

48

DancesWithPumas 07.25.09 at 11:34 am

Or, maybe he came to his senses? Maybe he actually loves his daughter, as many men do? Maybe he realized he brought more shame to himself by blaming his 8 year old daughter for being kidnapped and raped by the 4 males?

The family is not being charged…the officials say they didn’t abandon her they merely “didn’t support” her.

I would hope that the 3 months the children’s services has to counsel them is enough. The president of Liberia is involving herself as well. It sounds as if she’s a woman on a mission. Not only is she for “counseling” for her people to evolve out of this rape culture, but she also has taken a stand of zero tolerance and strong criminal legal response to rape.

Here’s a trick I learned a long time ago. When you get these mailers asking for money – if they include a “postage paid” envelope (ie, you don’t have to pay for the postage), gather all your other junk mail and stuff the envelope as full as you can get it with that junk and mail it back to them. That way they have to pay for all the weight of the shit you stuff into it.

The beauty of it – it’s perfectly legal. :)

I’m hoping that this is the father’s true heart speaking now, and that he reacted as he did initially because he believed his society expected him to react that way. Even so, repudiating his daughter initially was a hideous betrayal, and I’m damned if I know how she’ll ever recover from it. I just hope she can because odds are that CPS is eventually going to send her back to her family.

And as Dances notes, let’s keep this in perspective. This is a horrible crime. But the only really unusual aspect of it is the ages of the rapists. Girls in the United States are raped daily by their 10th-generation-American, white, Christian or Jewish or atheist fathers and brothers and neighbors. And sometimes those same fathers and brothers and neighbors kill them. Life in prison, no parole. Nothing else is adequate.(No, not the death penalty. I don’t want them put out of their misery. A child rapist or killer gets worse from his fellow inmates than a court could lawfully impose on him.)

AniEm–The nine-year-old wasn’t excommunicated. Her mother and the doctor who performed the abortion were. The rapist, supposedly, “repented.”

Hope Puma–How many reports of rape have you seen in which the religion of the rapist or victim was mentioned? “John Doe, a Presbyterian, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 33-year-old female Catholic in a parking garage yesterday, police said.” It’s not mentioned because it’s Not. Fucking. Relevant. There are only two questions that are relevant here. One is, what is the best and most healing course of action for the victim? The other is, are the rapists modeling behavior they saw normalized in Liberia’s civil war, and therefore possibly salvageable, or are they junior sociopaths? Because if they’re the latter, we need a mechanism to separate even the youngest permanently from society.

And incidentally, I’m not willing to give up the Constitution for anyone’s blind hatred of a given religion, race, nationality, or political affiliation.

murphy, don’t have a nervous breakdown. Although I feel I am close to one too. How can violence against girls and women remain acceptable, even encouraged, even a source of lecherous delight by the sadists and evildoers (think Nell). My daughter is seven. I am so angry thinking about this.

59

Zee 07.25.09 at 12:08 pm

The 4 males are all children, too. Talk about “teachable” moments….how about overdue teachable moment or completely missed teachable moment.
These 4 males could’ve used some child services intervention long ago.

I’m glad the Liberian ambassador is getting involved. This is the legacy of war and a rape culture. Yet another war and rape culture, I should say. We deplored the “rape rooms” of Saddam then had our own soldiers perverted into torturers who built and photographed naked pyramids of prisoners and worse. I was so infuriated at the media, most of all, for parroting that “few bad apples” crap. As if those young soldiers from West Virginia (who were scapegoated) packed black hoods and electrodes in their duffel bags before they shipped out.

Where did they get them? The local Walmart?!

During wartime these tactics are *indoctrinated* into the field by superiors…this is denied, and none of the soldiers are ever deprogrammed or rehabilitated. Some are not strong enough to assimilate back into society.

And so it is with this entire people who have been steeped in war and rape culture. It is too late for this little girl. But if you ask what can we do…we can applaud CNN and the Liberian president Sirleaf. We can encourage more coverage of this.

If we had a Madam President Clinton, you can be sure she would use this as a jumping off point for us to affirm the kind of future we want to secure for women and girls. If other cultures are going to come here, and be celebrated, and thrive, we need to set guidelines on exactly won’t be tolerated here….

But yet again, women must “wait our turn.” Our boneheaded Brand Zero is busy selling his own foot-in-mouth disease and bad judgment as a “teachable moment.”

sometimes I think the people on the Hill already burned our constitution.

thank you for what you said about whether the boys are modeling behavior they saw in war. yes, rape is part of every war, and the young children learn it, have no respect for individual rights because they had none, no respect for life because their life had no value. maybe they can be salvaged and healed. But who will do it? Where will they learn something good?

61

Dragonfly 07.25.09 at 12:10 pm

has anyone read What is the What? about the war in Sudan and the walking boys.

62

Dragonfly 07.25.09 at 12:17 pm

Zee

yes you are right. I am also reading The Great War for Civilization by Robert Fisk. He is a journalist who lived in the ME for decades and knows about the torture and rape there. Women were raped as a form of torture in Iranian prisons, for example. I haven’t gotten very far in the book, so I am sure there is more.

I heard a person who knew Saddam from the war talk about what our military saw there, how it was so horrifying they probably all have PTSD, how evil Saddam’s sons were, how girls were torn apart by wolves after being raped in one of the son’s palace homes. Honestly, is redemption a possibility for this species? Where are the good men, the heroes, the ones who can protect the weak from violence and death?

but i digress – the man who knew Saddam. He said there were women in Iran who were brave and who did so much to give Iran a chance at a good government, but our government abandoned them to torture and death in prison. There is a place in northern Iran to honor them, where their stories are told.

Hmmmm -lost my comment.

Good morning/afternoon Pumas. My heart breaks for that poor child. Like you, I want to take her in my arms and make it all better. From the BBC site I gather that offers of money and requests to adopt her are coming in from all over the country:

I am so glad the woman Liberian President has become personally involved – this is a time for all women leaders, here and worldwide, to become involved.

AniEm 07.25.09 at 12:36 pm

Thank you, waterpanther, for correcting my error. I found it incomprehensible that a 9 year old rape victim would be excommunicated.
According to the CNN report:

“However, the stepfather was not excommunicated, with Sobrinho telling Globo TV that, “A graver act than (rape) is abortion, to eliminate an innocent life.”

I don’t see how any religious belief in the world can justify this reasoning or “value system”, especially by claiming to know God’s mind.

Dragonfly: “sometimes I think the people on the Hill already burned our constitution”. Amen. That’s exactly what’s going on here. To borrow a term from waterpanther, looks like our elected officials have a ‘blind hatred’ of taxpayers.

I have been trying to once again wrap my mind around this horror. Seems everyday my heart breaks a little more.

This child,so abused. misused and discarded like the days garbage. There are millions like her faceless, nameless. The shamed by a society that has failed them miserably.

Woman…the most perfect of God’s creations..giver of life. SHE should be placed on a pedestal and honoured. Instead she is battered and bruised, raped, mutilated, terrorised she is covered in robes and veils and she is shamed.

Is there one place on the face of this earth where she is honoured? One place where she is safe? My God even her home is sometimes a battle ground or a prison.

How do we begin to honour women and make this world safe for Gods most perfect creation?

I would do anything.

I remember reading about a place either in Africa or Asia where women are in charge of everything. The men are submissive to them. However, the women do not abuse this power. The men say they are perfectly happy the way things are. There is no crime and they all live basically as one big family. Sigh

The really scary part about the girl’s situation is that other siblings do not just go and spontaneously rape their sister without having been subjected to sexual abuse themselves. Usually boys are abused by someone outside the family and girls by someone inside the family. But one definitely has to wonder about “Dad” here. Where is “Mom”?

85

FLBarbara 07.25.09 at 1:18 pm

I once thought about a march on Washington to bring attention to Violence against women.

I wanted it to be visual. I wanted to not only bring attention to the alarming numbers but to honour those women who have been brutalised.

Humanize them. put names to the numbers.

I had a idea to organise a huge rally and each woman would carry a rose with the name of a victim and then pile them up in front of the white house.
Roses for rememberance..

86

—–
…no it’s not… funding for programs of women who have endured incest, rape, sexual abuse of all types has not only been difficult to obtain, but an unpopular subject matter across the spectrum of public support.

1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys have had to deal with a dick-wielding maniac.

Many, many girls and young women who have been sexually abused, grow up with a with a lifetime of overcoming the affects.

The sexual abuses of women and girls in other countries have been happening right here all along… it’s just not nice to talk about in an allegedly more “civilized” country.

Until recently, now that blogs have emerged.

Also… that tough shit about “get over it” and “she’s crazy”, “a self-pitying whiner”, blah, blah, blah against women… even from women… is bulshit and is meant solely for the purpose to send women back into the closet. (Sexual Abuse or political abuse)

If every living American Woman that’s been sexually abused, raped or endured some form of incest in this country ever marched on Washington, we would spill over into surrounding states.

Good afternoon Pumas

I’ve been reading some of Libby posts from the last two threads and I whole heartedly agree that we should concentrate our efforts on bringing down ACORN =Community Orginizers International.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R) UT and Rep. Michele Bauchman (R) are fighting hard for investigation.
There are too many countries in the world that call themselves democracies when their people in fact have no way of voting out their president. We are quickly becoming one of those countries. It is no surprice that Obama sided with Zeleya. He would love to do the same thing Zelaya tried to do in his country.
PUMA has taken on many noble causes and I support all of them, but trying to work for a living and fight Obama’s plans one by one is becoming more than what I could think of as sustainable for he for another 3 1/2 years!
Obama was not democratically elected. I know that Bush was not either but he was running against fucking Al Gore so I let the matter go and didn’t fight for my democracy, nor did Gore.
Now it is vital to me because this ACORN virus has spread internationally and must be stopped. It is not just some Governor and Attorney General in Florida, it’s an International Peoples Temple alla Jim Jones. They are masters of manipultating the poor- look at Rev. Wright. They will help to bring about the Global Governence of which Al Gore speaks.
We must crush ACORN and speread the word of their evil deeds internationally.
I will be contacting Rep. Jason Chaffetz of UT. I want my 8 billion in tax dollars that is going to ACORN through Obama’s stimulous bill back. In fact I demand it.

Murphy
I know the pain of seeing, holding and caring for a child who has been abused sexually and even repeatedly raped. I had that experience when I worked for a Case Famiglia (family home) in Italy run by my cousin. Some children suffered from fetal alcohol syndrom, some had been repeatedly raped and also suffered from guilt because their coming forward to report their rape resulted in them being separated from their youngest sibblings who were subsequencially adopted by good families. The situation for so many children is horrifying. My cousin worked all her adult life with these children, and when the state run institution she headed was closed she took them to her own home where she now hosts over 15 of these children. She gets funding from the Italian government and hires young people to help her around the clock and has another condo in her building to house additional children. Her work is heart breaking but she has been blessed with the kind of strength that comes from her personal faith and in knowing that each of these children are trully special and worthy of her life which she has given to them.
I tell you this story because as you mentioned in your post, you feel as if you are on ther verge f a nervous break down. I can feel your pain and I myself only lasted 4 months working with my cousin in Italy. She continues on with more and more horrifying cases. So stay strong Murphy and know that we togther are going to make a differencec for these young girls and boys.
We can only do so in a free society. With out freedom there is no way to fight these kinds of horrors.
Obama is taking away our freedom and is “the greatest enabler of America’s epidemic of misogyny.”
We must and will stop him.
So keep on fighting and no nervous break downs okay.
We are in this together.

RememberNovember #112

I no longer trust our news in the states…along with the rest of us.
The first of the year I started reading all the news out of the Country…they tell a whole different story than what is reported here. (also, great way to track Hillary..they report the good things she is doing)

Like when “O” and family were in London..all the protest against him..that the school and hospital that MO visited was Islamic..in Islington..controlled and run now by the Islamic Society..women required to where burkas..live by sharia law..Yes just outside of London. The UK is lost at this point..british people now ordered by law NOT to go into 500+ Islamic areas.

About all the rapes happening to young british teen girls, by Islamic teen boys (to bring terror)..according to their Islamic teachings..being taught in the UK, it is acceptable..because they are “whores” under Islamic teaching. The horror stories their is unbelievable..the acid thing is now becoming a wide spread happening to both male and females who are not Islamic or those who break Islamic law.
Have you heard any of that from our news or papers..NOOOO.

Our media is now so controlled that things happening right here in the U.S. are no longer reported..and anything bad can not be reported against Islam. The story we are talking about is prime example…I don’t think this was a good Christian family..no that would be a good Islamic family…following Islam. And all we can do is Cry for the children.

Sorry so long.. just read and see so much of this BS..an know we are headed for some really bad days ahead, right here. They are already in our goverment, and our laws are being changed daily and we are left in the dark.

Ha ha,,,, the place that you all mentioned where WOMEN rule is in a tiny hamlet in China. I found the article in my fashion magazine and forwarded it to Murphy. This place upends everything a male society is…the woman is BOSS in every sense of the word including, sex, work, family everything and the men treat them with respect. It is a way of life there but outside of their hamlet, even people in China find them a curiosity. However, the love their tradition and have no wish of changing roles… It was on one of Murphy’s writeups about 5 months ago – very fascinating.

123

freddiebrown 07.25.09 at 3:51 pm

If you ask me, I was shaking my head long long ago when people in UK (especially in the urban areas) were so intent on being politically correct about Islam they literally were living with their head in the sand. How can an entire nation not see the writing on the wall – Sharia laws are now common place.. talk about the changing of the guards. The French Prez, Nikolas Sarkozy has the right idea, take off the damn Bhurka if you want to live in France. No mincing of words needed. Unlike Obama, President Sarkozy has balls. Obama is full of chit and just sucks !!

Hi Freddie
I kept an eye out for you when I was in julian last weekend.

I’m heading North Hwy 1. Leisurely pace. In San Clemente right now. Would that Nixon had been a surfer dude instead of president. Oh well.

Noticed tons of real estae for sale signs in the Julian area.

Saturday – CBO deals a new death blow to obamacare:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/25415.html

For the second time this month, congressional budget analysts have dealt a blow to the Democrat’s health reform efforts, this time by saying a plan touted by the White House as crucial to paying for the bill would actually save almost no money over 10 years.

A key House chairman and moderate House Democrats on Tuesday agreed to a White House-backed proposal that would give an outside panel the power to make cuts to government-financed health care programs. White House budget director Peter Orszag declared the plan “probably the most important piece that can be added” to the House’s health care reform legislation.

But on Saturday, the Congressional Budget Office said the proposal to give an independent panel the power to keep Medicare spending in check would only save about $2 billion over 10 years- a drop in the bucket compared to the bill’s $1 trillion price tag.

“In CBO’s judgment, the probability is high that no savings would be realized … but there is also a chance that substantial savings might be realized. Looking beyond the 10-year budget window, CBO expects that this proposal would generate larger but still modest savings on the same probabilistic basis,” CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf wrote in a letter to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer on Saturday.

I’m glad you commented on this. I thought the Widdershins blog was awful. PUMA, I believed, was developed by disillusioned Democrats who refused to be “played” by Democrat leadership. The Widdershins post suggests that PUMAs are dumb enough to be “played” by the religious right. This makes no sense to me and it’s insulting.

Who’s bashing PUMAPac? No PUMA blog is immune, and there are numerous “PUMA” blogs that lean way right, mostly residue from the McCain?Palin “McDemocrat” campaign, many of which were AstroTurf. Nobody’s attacking PUMAPac or calling anybody dumb.
That’s like cussing out somebody who yells at you that a car is coming because you know how to cross the freaking street.
When did long-time, ex-(and still)Democratic PUMAs become the enemy?

I think there was some problem a fews months ago with The New Agenda, but overall I think Amy Siskind is also working hard to promote women in the political arena and this is an “all-hands-on-deck” issue.

Juliette 07.26.09 at 12:23 am

I just got back from reading and watching a video at TheNewAgendablog.
If anyone is wondering why some of us life long democrats are disgusted with our party I ask you to watch this video of Matttew Littman (a democratic strategist and former speech writer for Joe Biden).
It is the July 25 post Mathew Littman’s double standard-go to comment to watch the video.
Just a warning, his misogyny might make your head explode.
Oh my beloved deomcrats-

Ted Kennedy (D)-Leaves a woman to die at the bottom of a lake.
Bill Clinton (D)-The worst kind of womanizer who humiliated his wife repeatedly as she silently stood by him. Who tossed his used up mistresses into the public pyre why we all defended him.
John Edwards (D)- who I voted for for v.p. in 2004. Just can’t wait to bury his wife before he moves on to another woman.
I worked for and supported this party my whole life, and now that they have all the power they need to achieve thier goals look what the f**k they are doing.
Yes I am mad as hell. Yes I am questioning if I have been wrong all along about my liberal views and party affiliation.
God, if I weren’t one to question things I could be in a Burka right now living in Algeria.
I don’t see this kind of vulgar hatred of women coming from the right. I see more maturity, more respect for humanity and more common desency. Would any republican dare to wear a Barak Obama N**er T-shirt to greet Obama in their own town?
Well my f**king dumb ass and dirty party memembers greated Sarah Palin proudly with their Sarah Palin C**T t-shirts and even got thier pictures posted on Obama’s campaign web-site.
So much for the city of brotherly love.
I am sorry folks but I have had it. Today I spoke with a friend of mine, a liberal democrat who supported Hillary and never liked or trusted Obama. He is in his 80′s, not exactly from an era when this hip-hate for women was acceptable.
He said to me-”oh I understand Sarah Palin has quite as governor to persue a career in porno films!” Yes an educate highly cultured liberal democrat said that to me a woman.
And then there is this piece of shit Mathew Littman.

Are the democrats trying to suck as much as Islam!?!?!
If so they are doing a bang up job.

Libby 07.26.09 at 1:44 am

Thanks Juliette. I also cannot keep up with all of the issues that Obama keeps throwing up every minute of every day. Especially when the big bills are all multiple bills on each issue, all of them 1000+ pages.

I do know that there is a Puma Acorn watch. But, I think you realize what I am saying. There needs to be a focus on what got Obama into the WH so that we can try to get him Out.

I responded to another blog in which the writer sort of said, you know the health care will be passed so why get so excited about it. I couldn’t disagree more. No matter how they try to poo poo everything in Obamaville, we need to fight back really hard on three issues that have not been fully dealth with but are in the works.

Threaten your Senators and Representatives that if they vote for Health Care Insurance or Cap and Trade, they will lose their seat in the next election.

Put every bit of pressure on…news, chat, message boards, letters to congress, to have ACORN investigated fully, stop any money going to them and DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO DO THE CENSUS UNDER RAHM.

Obama fooled with census and districts in Chicago to move himself into position while leaving behind those who now had good reason to vote against him.

Obama is going to do the same thing nationally if he has control of the Census with Rahm and Acorn running it. Suddenly Red districts will become Blue, and other districts will have a lot of people move into them for the purpose of the census only…then they will go home. Do you really think Obama and Acorn are going to let all of that empty housing they created, go to waste? Of course he will say that they should be counted even if they are squatters or illegal aliens.

Obama means to take away every bit of freedom and control over our own lives and he will use the Census and Acorn to do it.

In the meantime he will use a totally usless piece of legislation that will consume everyones time and energy, so he can slip in his new Census program that will change the very face of the U.S.

Thank you Congressman Issa for finally taking the responsibility of investigating the ACORN crap that has caused the destruction of our country, attacks on women and children, and used poor people to work their agenda.

This is something that has happened, we witnessed it, there are court cases in many states, Acorn is fighting back, this can be linked directly to Obama and his campaign.

If you really want to stop Obama, here is the first step: A link into the evidence of the investigation of ACORN and it’s ties with Obama. This is in the congress and we need to support it because the “progressives” are moving forward quickly to take over our money, health care, freedom, and rights. So we have to fight on the front line. Not watch….fight.

http://republicans.oversight.house.gov/media/pdfs/20090723ACORNReport.pdf

In addition it would be great to see how the math Dr. Lynn, who was reporting on Acorn Obat involvement in the Primaries is doing with her research and see if she needs support. She can give the data that backs up the Congressional oversight report.

Juliette 07.26.09 at 2:03 am

I’m back Libby. And yes I agree with your above comment.
I read my assigned pages of HR 3200.
All I can say is that Obama wants to crush small business.
I believe that the majority of new small business owners are women. It has always been a place where they could avoid the glass ceiling, and the frat boy mentality and just be really creative and do their own thing. Opportunities for small business owners will disappear between Obama’s forced Union bill-or card check, his taxes, crap and trade, health scare and his allowing the banks to withold loans and hord their, excuse me, OUR money.
I am going to focus my attention on exposing ACORN getting Obama impeached. I will make my friends in other country aware that ACORN is now in their country spreading their freedom killing desease. I will keep emailing Dennis Kucinich to ask him how many impeachable crimes Obama is guilty of. Surely as many as George Bush.
I’ll take a look at the action center now.

171

Libby 07.26.09 at 2:08 am

I would like to be able to go back and clear up my typos in the previous message, but I think my basic message was pretty clear so I beg forgiveness.

I will never be able to die comfortably if I know that my children and grandchildren will have to live with the results of an Obama presidency that was engineered by a combination of really rich users from the likes of Goldman Sachs and George Soros, and really ignorant poor people who believed that Obama would do something to help them.

Every morning I wake up and hope to God that this is the day that Obama realizes that he really is the President of the United States who has sworn to uphold the Constitution and protect the people of the United States. And everyday, I realize that it has not happened yet. In fact, it just gets worse every single day

Someone has to stop him or we will be as guilty as all of those people in Germany who just couldn’t see a big problem with Hitler. Hey, he was looking out for their best interest…Right.

It’s hard as hell for someone like me, the only member of my family who did not vote for Obama. Plus there are all my fabulously liberal Ivytard friends who still cannot see this fraud for what his is. My city Philadelphia and next door neighbor NY, all lousy with Obama’s People’s Temple followers, can hardly go out and be with friends without wanting to shake someone.

Juliette, I understand, too and feeling like ranting myself right now.

176

Libby 07.26.09 at 2:49 am

Juliette, thank you for the comments and I appreciate you dedication to seeing the Acorn thing through. I really think that it is the only way to try to get Obama out before his four years are done, without the horror show of Biden and Pelosie coming in behind him. Risky but worth trying.

We have barely survived the first 6 months of Obama and I doubt that this country could survive 4 years. He’ll save up some money from TARP and throw it all out right before the next elections but it is just a trick to get him in for another four years and in the meantime…the frogs are so cooked that they cannot jump out to free themselves from the pan.

My family also betrayed me in a sense. They voted for Obama and branded my research as being “racist”. They know that I am a professional researcher, yet they still went for the lies and ignored the evidence. Change/Hope sounds so much better than facts.

One of my brothers and I are on the outside. Ironically, my ex-husband and I see everything the same way and are in total agreement on all of the issues.
We do much better as friends and political allies than we did as marriage partners. He is bringing my son around now. Kid went off to college in northern PA and lost all of his political skepticism that would keep him clear on issues. He seems to be coming around again after experiencing the reality of getting a job in the Obama economy. He got a job, but not what he would have had if Bush was still President. Or if McCain was President.

I’ve never seen a president other than Jimmy Carter who could wipe out an economy faster…actually, I think Obama has beat Carter in that race.

We seem to live near to each other. I’m 18 miles east of Philadelphia. Went to the July 4th Tea Party in Philly.

Let’s hope that Philadelphia Freedom is something that we can keep celebrating.

180

Libby 07.26.09 at 3:17 am

Juliette, I also agree that Obama wants to wipe out small business. I’m not sure why though. I can only think that to him it is a threat to have individuals who can create and do things be successful.

That goes back to his ego and his need to feed the people who bought him his Presidency. Big businesses that overwhelm small and elderly investors could be threatened by a new organization that had a better plan,

So Ironic that the “community organizer in chief” does not want individuals to succeed. They need to fail to help him succeed. Better to keep them on the dole to collect money that the rest of us pay into, and plead their case of neediness, rather than giving them options to start a business, learn how to operate it, and do well for themselves.

Our Gov Corzine in NJ recently did the same thing. He fired all of the people in the jobs programs who were trained to help people find jobs and create businesses, and once they were gone, they told the people to go to the library to file for unemployment. That was the only option they were given.

No more help with writing resumes, no more setting up interviews, no more training on how to interview, no more help at all. Just send them to the library to get unemployment. They couldn’t even help them with that any longer. I’m a librarian and we have been on a hiring freeze for over a year, then the state dumps all of their unemployment issues on us without any notification. No one told us that the former Workforce training no longer existed except in office space with no one to help people. They had all been fired by Corzine. So we were hardly prepared for the hundreds of people who were sent to us for all sorts of needs that library’s have never provided but suddenly had to provide because the need was so great.

In the meantime, there are a bunch of people in NJ who know exactly how to help people who are recently laid off, but they cannot help them because they are laid off themselves. Thank you Jon Corzine…the man who claims to be just like Obama. Thank you for the heads up about where this country is going under Obama.

((((Dances)))) 8 days my ass. If we don’t hear from you this morning I am sending a Puma search party for you.
(((PUMAS))) We have all endured so much this past year. We have to take comfort in the fact that we are all still together, we are the family that exists when our own families don’t understand why we do what we do, and are so blinded by the one. I know most people just say that they do nothing because it is just politics. It is that lackadaisical attitude that got into these situations in the first place. All I know is that I have to keep on keepin on. I have to show my Grandchildren, that you can never give up, never. If you believe in something or have something that needs to be said, do it, say it. Fear no one. Fight for what you believe in. Work for what you want to accomplish. That is what builds character. It is not what you look like, how much money you have, what color or religion you are, not your sexual orientation that matters. Your heart matters. From the heart reaches the heart.

that sucks, prpl. I’m really disappointed.

The BO boiz will try to spin it as “Crowley is remorseful.”

VTcat, Persephone, Headclunker – see how Pumapac is FIRST with the news. I have been waiting for my Rasmussen email to see him at minus ten and he surpassed himself – still don’t have my email!!! Woot, woot as some of you say :)

‘Morning Pumas, nice to see you :) :)

Persephone – according to BO it ws the the Sgt Crawley who suggested the beer. So now BO will be hailed as the great peacemaker for a problem he exacerbated

I was just thinking about that! It is still early in Cali, so maybe Dances is still snoozing or enjoying the sunrise from atop her camper.
I will give it another hour lol.
I am hoping Murphy is spending time for herself for once, just enjoying whatever she is doing, and not thinking about anything Puma today. Just relaxing and clearing her mind.

Persephone,
When debating, the first person to mention or make comparisons to Hitler, loses.

I think some of us may be smarting from the out of context trashing post of a few weeks ago… you know, when the “g” word wasn’t removed quickly enough for some. You remember, when Murphy was traveling with her daughter and I had just has surgery.

Anyway, why bother visiting sites that upsets you? Or read poster who have lost credibilty? It’s like tv … change the channel or “kill your television”.

Cinie, #142
That’s like cussing out somebody who yells at you that a car is coming because you know how to cross the freaking street.
————–
Some of the above to persephone, and, another analogy might be the constant backseat driving by the unlicensed.
Why trash women who are trying to do actually do something?
There are two or three small anti-puma sites who fulfill that role, why join the gangbang? Why undermine women?

With BFF like these…. who needs enemies.

persephone,
———–
Crowley was in a no-win position, if he didn’t go have a beer with one and a half black men, it would “prove” (beyond a shadow of a doubt, for all eternity) that he’s racist. Going means he has to sacrifice his principles to cowtow to the yappin’liar in the white house.

205

persephone 07.26.09 at 11:09 am

Rem, Crowley suggested the beer?? no way!

I think they should have the beer and listen to the tape of Gates yelling “I’ll go outside with your momma..” playing in the background.

The whole story really bugs me.

I was born in that Cambridge neighborhood, had an office in that neighborhood, raised kids in that neighborhood.

And I am absolutely certain that if I had ever talked to the police the way Gates did, my lily white girl ass would have been hauled off to the Central Square Cambridge jail in short order.

206

RememberNovember 07.26.09 at 11:12 am

Persephone – yep, that’s what BO said – heard it with my own ears. Perhaps it will be spun to make it look like BO is solving a problem but….now I’ll have to find an audio of that to make sure my hearing isn’t going

the bringing up Hitler in a debate theory only applies when there is an actual debate.
when a party in question uses skeery hitler words like “purity” to trash others in absentia, all bets are off.

I went to the bad place, i know.

and when i saw the horrible comment at the link that shall not again be named i was newly horrified and wanted pumapac members to see they would be openly ridiculed like *** (name w/held) was…

Hello Dear Pumas, Have a happy sunday !
Hi Dances, hoping you are having a great times, enjoy, but please don’t forget to sport a “SOX” shirt, I guarentee you that everything is going to be perfect after you start wearing one of those. – just kidding -

Yes, you are so right. Strange, however that the black officer, who spoke in defense of Crowley, and was there during the entire incident has not been invited….

————–
What problem? The guy was arrested and released without being charged. He’s free to carry on with his life, and the officer is on duty to do his job. Case closed.

btw, did zero mention that the family of the 8 year old girl who was raped by 4 freaks acted ‘stupidly’?
doubt it.

Persephone – sorry – found a video and there was a ‘snip’ just before BO said that there were ‘discussions’ about having a beer in his phone conversation with Crowley – don’t know where I got that impression….. :( I remember thinking at the time – hearing it live – that C was extending an olive branch. The Police and the President

Mr. Obama has a point about history, but we’re not sure that an episode in an upscale neighborhood involving one of America’s most privileged individuals illustrates anything except a misunderstanding. Mr. Gates lives in a city with a black mayor, a state with a black governor and a country with a black President. The dispute was arguably about town-gown relations rather than race. If this is a teaching moment, one lesson is that it’s usually better to cooperate during encounters with law enforcement so that matters don’t escalate needlessly. And if a cop asks you to step out on the porch, or away from your car, it’s probably because he’s concerned for his own safety.

We will get a photo op, they will all be smiling, they will all come out and shake hands.

The president will go back to presidentin’
Professor Gates will go make a documentary on “racial profiing for the PBS with a government grant, make some good money
Crowley will go back on the beat (who the hell knows how he will be treated on his next call?
It’s all just plain old freaking stupid and where will it have gotten us… a lesson for whom? I have learned on thisg, Obama
is not, was not, and never will be ready to be president, you surly have noticed he never has to answer anything about himself
by anyone in the media including all the damned media.

I hope all of you got to see Hillary on “Meet the Press”. She looked great; more rested than I’ve seen her.

She talked about many things: the different places she has been.
At a press conference in India, a reporter said that they had a woman President, so why hadn’t the U.S. had one? Good question.
Hillary said that she guessed the right woman hadn’t run yet.
That, Hillary is not true. You were the right woman.

They ask her if the Presidency was still in her plans. She said no. She said she had a very exciting job now.

I know this; if Hillary couldn’t make it, no one will. This Country is too sexist.

I watched HRC on Meet the Press this morning and was hopeing it would be discussed on the blog this morning since she had the entire hour and addressed so many issues. Near the end after she talked about her wonderful working relationship with Obama, she was asked about running again. Here is the link to that part of the video:
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/32154900#32154900

Listen to that clip and let it continue to run to listen to her answer to the ‘does it bother you that Obama is overshadowing you’ question. That was my favorite answer of hers. She said no it does not bother her since she understands how the government is suppowed to work and the President is at the top (my paraphrase of her words).

Isn’t that why we are here? I think there were other factors too. She is a Clinton, there were a lot of people that just didn’t want another Clinton in the WH, she is a Dem, don’t kid yourself, yes sexism was the biggest part, but there bigger forces at work. One is our current prez, the other were botox betty and gang, and of course the repubs, and the ever sexist media, acorn…hell, I am getting worked up again. I got to get out of this house. bbl

Agreed. We’ve all had our moments though, haven’t we? If it’s a lifestyle choice for some, so be it. I’d rather know who people truly are than be mislead… you know, like the dog taht runs down the driveway to greet you when you arrive home, jumps up, paws on your shoulders and while he’s licking your face, you look down and realize he’s peeing on your leg.
Just freakin’ pee on my leg and forego the face licking bullshit. It saves time, energy, and false leads for everyone involved.

Thank you for the assessment of my character, research abilities, and powers of deduction. Though I can accept that my opinions are unwelcome, and now fully recognize to what degree, my question still stands; when did PUMAs like me become the enemy? You don’t have to answer, I’ll probably never see it, and, that makes me sad.

BTW, “one or two sites?”

Sorry I was unclear. I was not referring to you, or any comments or posts that you have made. I appreciate your point of view, and even in the rare times that I don’t agree with you, I always learn from you, so thanks for that. To be clear, I was NOT assessing you or your dogged persistent research.

I thought, wrongly so apparently, that the comments were in reference to another blog that seems to be building a track record for trashing pumas and women’s sites.

234

DancesWithPumas 07.26.09 at 2:34 pm

Cinie,
Not to drag this out, but I’m curious, what would you think, or feel, if your comment had been responded to by this blog’s owner in the following way, and then the thread closed to further comments?

“Cinie
This toxic meme reference guide is not about you. Shocking, I know. And as if you’re the only one who has ever spoken to a “real life feminist”. Jesus Christ! Could you be MORE full of yourself?
Your comments on this issue have been insulting, incredibly nasty, and exceptionally arrogant. Any further comments to the effect of “you’re all deranged provincial freaks” will be deleted, so I suggest you consider your words a bit more carefully before you hit “submit.” Or, perhaps you would be more comfortable elsewhere, where all bow down to the glory and superior wisdom of Cinieeeeeee.”
