Woman Lynching – 2
Four women a day are murdered by their husbands in this country for NO reason. Since we invaded Iraq in March 2003, more than 4,200 American soldiers have been killed. In that same time, there have been NINE THOUSAND woman-lynchings; more than twice as many women slaughtered than US casualties in Iraq. And as always, I’m only talking about the 1,500 women a year who are murdered by their husbands — shot, stabbed, beaten, strangled, in extreme terror, often in front of their children. Not the additional 2,000 who are killed by strangers every year. When we read about civil wars in Africa where mothers and fathers are killed in front of their children we recoil in HORROR. We think there must be something profoundly wrong about a culture that spawns such cruel and terrifying practices. Wake up. That kind of terror is COMMONPLACE in the United States. Most of the women who are woman-lynched are mothers of more than one child. How many thousands of children have watched their mothers be stabbed to death or shot right in front of them in the last year or two?

RIP Sandra Neace, 54, her daughter Sandra Strong, 28, Strong’s boyfriend, Dennis Turner, 31, who was killed shielding Strong (I suspect) in the bathtub in his home where Neace’s husband, Stanley, pursued his wife, who ran to Turner’s home for help. RIP Teresa Fugate and Tammy Kilborn, also shot to death by Stanley Neace, when he entered Turner’s home. Kilborn just barely had time to hide one of Fugate’s children in a bathroom before she was killed. The child was not physically injured. Stanley Neace then killed himself.
The rampage followed a week of arguments between the Neaces.

RIP Deborah Diane Gordon, 58, killed by her husband in their Texas home. She died sometime last month, and the killer did not report the death but instead let her body decompose in the home. She was discovered by their adult son, who also discovered a suicide note to him and his brother signed “your adoring father.” The killer has been indicted – he was caught before he could kill himself.

RIP Joanne Hall, a 49 year old British citizen killed by her husband recently in France. The killer, 55 year old Robert Hall, burned her body and hid her ashes in cement, but he ultimately confessed to one of their children last week.

RIP Amanda Hornsby-Smith, who leaves behind children she bore for the loser who killed her. He wants to escape responsibility. He is trying the “too much caffeine” defense. Few consume more caffeine than I do. I find liberal use of profanity in the car does wonders to lower violent tendencies. Maybe he needs new friends in prison to teach him humility.

As you requested Dragonfly, I am posting the story of a woman relative killed by her partner. In January 2008, my 62 year old first cousin Maureen Oleski was shot to death by her husband Charles,also 62. Charlie then killed their 28 year old son. During his sentencing, there were pleas for leniency because he as a well liked, upstanding member of the community. Charlie was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in state prison. Rest in Heaven, Maureen and Christian.

Denise Perry was stabbed by her husband two weeks ago in Oklahoma. I did not see an update on whether she survived. She lost a lot of blood and was not expected to survive.

Despite being stabbed 27 times, a twenty-three year old woman survived to testify in Dubai against her ex-boyfriend, 41, who claims he is not responsible for his conduct as he had consumed alcohol prior to his attack. The individuals are not named in the article, but the attack happened at the woman’s workplace. Two of her co-workers heard her cry out and intervened to save her life.

To have stiffer penalties and a greater degree of safety, we could use better laws. How do we do that? Figure out the committees and legislators in your states. In Florida, multiple bills were introduced but not passed concerning domestic violence this year. Democrat Mia L. Jones, District 14, introduced a bill related to domestic violence, HR 1115. It did not become law. I found out by searching for the Florida House of Representatives and then searching for bills where “domestic violence” was mentioned. Then I found the names of sponsors of those bills. One was named “Jones” – once I found her page, I was able to search what bills she had sponsored. Once you know the bill number, you can find what is called a “staff analysis” in Florida (not sure if it would be different in other states), and the staff analysis describes the bill and what impact it would have:

Rep. Jones’ bill died in the Criminal and Civil Justice Appropriations Committee – most likely because implementation would have cost money.

NY State Assembly – Sadly, but not surprisingly, there is no committee dedicated to DV issues in the Assembly, but the Subcommittee on Women’s Health would seem a good place to start. It is Chaired by Assemblymember Aileen M. Gunther (Hudson Valley) a registered nurse by profession.

Kizzy Richardson Walker tried to leave.
On Oct. 15 — the day she disappeared — she went to the DeSoto apartment she shared with her husband, Greg Walker, to pack her belongings. She no longer wanted to face her husband’s death threats, which her family said she endured during six months of marriage.
“She should’ve never gone to the apartment to get her things,” said Kizzy Walker’s great-aunt, Mary Holloway. “She should’ve just walked away.”
Two days later, Kizzy Walker’s burned body was found on a rural road near Lake, Miss., about 50 miles east of the capital, Jackson.
Investigators believe that Kizzy Walker was killed in Texas and taken to east Mississippi, where her body was set on fire, Scott County (Miss.) Sheriff Mike Lee said.
DeSoto police charged her husband, Greg Walker, 38, with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was being held in the Dallas County Jail with bail set at $350,000.”

RIP Treva Benton, shot to death in a restaurant parking lot. Her husband stood over her and shot her as she tried to crawl away from him after being attacked. Treva leaves behind two teenaged sons.

Jamie Khune amazingly sentenced to a mere 7 years in prison after strangling the mother of his son, his wife, Minghua Zheng, 36, who was audacious enough, during a nasty divorce, to tell Jamie (he says) that she would take their toddler to China where Jamie would not be able to see the baby anymore. Hmmmm, difficult to believe this Jamie, since you killed her! He choked her to death for four minutes, but because he was sexually abused by his grandfather, I guess he doesn’t deserve to be punished? The guy has attempted suicide many times, so sure, he’s really going to be ready for society again in 7 years. He’s only 36. Pray he can’t charm another poor woman.
Here’s hoping the boy gets to go live with his mother’s people.

RIP April Vann, 33, of Ohio, shot to death by her husband Eric Vann shortly after she had filed for divorce. Eric killed her and then himself in the home, where April ran a childcare business. Their four year old son and six other children under the age of 6 were in the house when Eric killed his wife and himself. I hope he is punished in his soul.

“Three people whose bodies were found in a hollow tree trunk in the US state of Ohio were stabbed to death before they were dismembered, a coroner has said.
Tina Herrmann, son Kody Maynard and her friend Stephanie Sprang were stabbed several times in the back and chest.
The bodies were later cut up, placed inside rubbish bags and lowered into the hollow of a large tree in a wildlife reserve, the coroner said.
The only suspect in the killings is being held on a kidnapping charge.
He is Matthew Hoffman, an unemployed tree surgeon and ex-convict.”

Rest in peace, Tracey Ann Pytka, of Rhode Island, who had kicked her husband out of the house a few weeks before she was killed. The husband, Peter Pytka, was arrested for murdering Tracy. He recently killed himself in prison. The Pytkas had three children together, aged 6,8 and 14. The oldest discovered his mother’s body. Family and friends have set up a memorial fund for Tracey to cover the expenses of raising her children.

Rest in peace, Nicole Berrios, 19, of Pennsyvlania. On December 23, Nicole was shot and killed by the father of her two year old son. Nicole’s mother was in the home at the time and in coming to her daughter’s aid, she too was shot. Berrios’ nine year old niece called 911. The killer also shot himself, but it appears he is surviving his injury.

Finally Renee Redmer of Wisconsin may be able to rest in peace. Renee, mother of two, disappeared in January 2009. Her boyfriend, Brandon Mueller, strangled her and burned her body with the help of his mother and her boyfriend. Renee’s ashes were disposed of in Lake Winnebago. A friend of Mueller’s later found out what had happened and told police. Mueller has been sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. His mother and her boyfriend were also sentenced to prison for their help.
Renee didn’t have to die. Mueller had been conviced FOUR other times for assaulting women in the past. The justice system failed Renee Redmer and her children.

Justice for Aasiya. Finally.
The walking bag of filth (her husband) was found guilty today, nearly two years after attacking her, stabbing her over 40 times, and beheading her.
This trial became a bit of a circus for the local media up in these parts. The murderer attempted to derail the process numerous times – filing motions, firing his lawyers, finally acting as his own attorney for the 14 day trial. His defense? He was an “abused” husband.
The jury took less than one hour to find him guilty. He will be sentenced next month, facing 25 years to life.
He should be lynched.
