In strategizing with his fellow (and I do mean “fellow”) members of Journolist, Spencer Ackerman, then of the Nation, was arguing with the group against rising to the bait and either defending or criticizing Jeremiah Wright. He said:

“If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they’ve put upon us. Instead, take one of them — Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists. Ask: why do they have such a deep-seated problem with a black politician who unites the country? What lurks behind those problems? This makes *them* sputter with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction.”

There you have it, Folks. Right out in the plain light of day. Spokespeople and actual journalists, being paid salaries by legitimate news organizations, calling people racists, simply as a STRATEGY. Explicitly. What a bunch of stupid idiots. And lord are they fond of their pretentious cliches: “It’s not necessary to jump to Wright-qua-Wright’s defense,” and “And I think this threads the needle.” Read any of their emails over at the Daily Caller and you can’t help but laugh at their hopeless affectations and their juvenile need to impress the other members of their Super Double Secret Club of Smarty Pantses with their lofty erudition, or at least their familiarity with the most popular cliches of those who want to be seen as lofty, and erudite.

And he and his gang will do it again too, if we let them. But this time, Pumas are still sounding the alarm. What happened with the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation cover-up, as well as Holder’s Justice Department’s alleged policy of not prosecuting Voting Rights Act complaints brought by citizens who happen to be white, suddenly has a larger context, a background, a backstory, and, crucially, a THEME. And the theme is: Barack Obama and his Movement will lie, cheat, and steal to win elections. Literally.

Since many of today’s readers may be new to this site and ones like it, I’ll post a few links for background information on what’s been going on in the Democratic party and in the upper echelons of DC and the national media headquarters since at least 2005.

Hillary Clinton actually received MORE VOTES than obama in the Dem Primaries and Caucuses of 2008. Let that sink in. Every time you read or hear a media spokesperson refer to Clinton’s “bitter loss” or “incompetent campaign” or “hard-fought loss” to obama, please click on this link to reassure yourself that YES, the media is shamelessly lying. Clinton did not suffer a “bitter loss.” She won for lord’s sake. What she did do, was finally throw in the towel on June 7, 2008 because she knew she couldn’t beat the DNC Machine. So she cut her losses and tried to salvage a worthy and valuable goal from the corrupt wreckage of the New Democratic Party, as shamefully redesigned by Axelrod, obama, Emanuel, Brazile, and Pelosi. That gang, with obama as their untouchable figurehead, tragically transformed the party of inclusive, idealistic, and all-American common sense liberalism into a Chicago style club of insider-only thugs who play disenfranchised groups off of each other, working only to keep us divided and hating each other so we’ll be distracted fighting for scraps from a government that no longer guarantees justice for all but instead payback with taxpayer cash for a few (and, yes, the “few” most certainly include the corporate interests that funded his campaign).

But not only did Clinton receive more votes; she also received them in a climate of corruption, intimidation, and blatant favoritism practiced by the media and the party referees; the Dem party leadership and media honchos who had the hots for an obama presidency. In Nevada and Texas, the corruption and illegal activity by the obama campaign against Clinton voters at the polling places was so blatant and out of control that the Clinton Campaign officially registered a complaint with the DNC and requested an investigation into, among other things:

Deliberately miscounted votes to favor Senator Obama.

Deliberately counted unregistered persons as Obama votes.

Deliberately counted young children as Obama votes.

Refused to accept preference cards from Clinton supporters who were at the caucus site by noon on the ground that the cards were not filled out fast enough.

Told Clinton supporters to leave prior to electing delegates.

Clinton supporters who arrived late were turned away from the caucus, while late Obama supporters were admitted to the caucus.

Obama supporters falsely informed Clinton supporters that no registration forms were available for them to register to vote at the caucus site.

Obama supporters wrongly told Clinton supporters who were attempting to caucus at the wrong precinct that they could not caucus at that site, while simultaneously permitting Obama supporters at the wrong precinct to participate.

Obama supporters were allowed to move to the front of the registration and sign-in line.

Workers were informed that their supervisors kept lists of Clinton and Obama supporters, and were told that they could not caucus unless their name was on the list of Obama supporters.

Many Clinton supporters were threatened with employment termination or other discipline if they caucused for Senator Clinton.

Workers were required to sign a pledge card to support Obama if they wanted time off to participate in the caucus.

Workers at one casino were offered a lavish lunch and permitted to attend and register to vote only if they agree to support Obama.

Apparently some pretty big media outlets are FINALLY starting to understand what we’ve been trying to explain for years. As Hillbuzz says, “It is never the crime, but the coverup that does these people in. Democrats never bothered to coverup the voter fraud because the Media never talked about it and too few Americans were ever interested in it.“

For those of us in the thick of things, paying attention, and screaming our heads off for what feels like forever to try to get the mainstream media to listen, two years feels like an eternity. But we said in June 2008, and again in November, and we say it almost every day: Pumas are in this for the long haul. We can’t rest, because every day new developments show just how right we were. New examples of obama incompetence make clear how we were right about how serious the consequences for our country and our democracy would be when the media cheerleaders facilitated the Emanuel-Axelrod-Dean Chicago style takeover of the Democratic National Committee.

Pumas Won’t Rest.

Not until every underhanded and unfair decision by the DNC to tip the scales for one “historic” candidate in favor of another, equally historic and absurdly more qualified candidate is exposed.

Not until the $259 MILLION dollars worth of campaign donations from UNDISCLOSED DONORS is accounted for. Where did all those tens of millions of dollars come from?

Not until the thousands of letters, phone calls, and official complaints lodged by average, every day voters about the blatant and disturbing instances of obama campaign operatives stealing ballots, intimidating voters, locking polling places, closing polling places early, and lying about polling locations are investigated, prosecuted, and punished.

As we said to obama and his establishment enablers in the Party and in the media back in July 2008, almost two years ago to the day:

“You and your followers have nothing to offer but the sop of feel-good politics. Your only offering to the civic life of our nation is a sweet, cynical, shallow bribe. And your hands, which force that feel-good sop like a chloroform soaked rag on a complacent nation reach for nothing more noble than personal power, riches, and fame. Our candidate, a woman, was not only the most likely to win in November, she was also the most prepared to lead. She still is. You destroyed her candidacy and dismissed her voters.

To all the feminist leaders and writers out there, those who have lied themselves into believing they are more than just window-dressed cheerleaders for the Obama Movement, wake up!

The derailed candidacy of Hillary Clinton is a flashpoint that sparked a small war in the Democratic Party. For millions of us, this is the most significant feminist event in our lifetimes. But it is much more than that. It is a battle for the soul of the Democratic Party — a war between the forces of feel-good politics and the forces of do-good politics. We know which side we are on.

Do you?”

Every citizen who watches this video and learns about what really happened in 2008 needs to ask her or himself the same question: Which side am I on? You don’t “like” Hillary Clinton? Big whoop. You don’t “like” the Democratic Party, or the Republican Party, or CNN or Fox? Bigger whoop. This isn’t ABOUT Hillary Clinton. It isn’t about Glenn Beck or Ted Kennedy (well, actually it IS sort of about that jackass willing-to-bend-the-rules to get a proxy president for himself since he knew his chance was long gone). It’s about democracy and how the people who enforce the rules in a democracy must be held accountable by the organized and unified front of the single most important component of a government by the people: the Individual Voter. All American voters must be united against the sort of corruption and tyrannical acts undertaken by candidate Barack Obama and his campaign to win the presidency at all costs in 2008.

The very little I know about art therapy tells me that the girl who drew this is secure and happy and isn’t keeping a lot of secrets. I get to know Fatoukine through Plan International, which I found through the Half the Sky Movement (aint the internet grand?)

In other news, Hillaryis44 continues her scorched earth policy against the obama administration and it is a thing of beauty.

Between the botched terrorism response in Times Square and the botched oil spill response in the Gulf, this administration should be renamed the OBOTched Regime. And yes, I DO think the OBOTS have a lot to answer for in all this. They, so much more than the Tea Partiers, are to blame for poisoning the discourse and ruining the unity in the Democratic Party. The president himself, who’s always been the Commander in Chief of the OBOTS, referred to voters who oppose him in the Tea Party as Teabaggers. This is nothing new to us, but for newcomers to obama’s tactics, it is shocking.

Remember the primaries? Remember THIS? And THIS?

This is nothing new for obama. He routinely uses bigotry, sexism, and homophobia to mock and undermine his opponents. Even when his so-called “opponents” are anonymous American citizens. A quick recall comes up with this list of terms of endearment obama has used, in public, to describe regular, every day Americans:

Bitter, bigoted, and stupidly religious

Sweeties

Anti-immigrant (That’s what he called Pennsylvanians when he was in Marin County California raising over $3 million dollars from rich Californians. Incidentally, or not, the percentage of immigrants in Marin County is 10 points lower than the California average. Are the rich of Marin County “anti-immigrant”?I don’t know. But I do know they cling to their gated seaside estates like lard on lemon cake.)

Stupid

Typical white people

Teabaggers. And now, of course, regular American voters who align with the Tea Party movement are the kinds of people who, either by choice or against their will, have testicles placed in their mouths by men straddling over them.

American voters are bitter, bigoted, hyper-religious, anti-immigrant, stupid, typical white people who deserve to be teabagged. That’s how the current president of the United States talks about VOTERS!

Now wonder he and the fractured party he limped in on are going down. And, no, I don’t mean that in a hillbuzz sort of way.

Speaking of which and getting back to the original point of this post, where do you feel at home? Where on the internet? Where in real life? Personally, I like to hang out, as you know, at Uppity’s, Puma Eyes, Twisty’s, CNN’s News Pulse, the NYT, Boston.com, and Calculated Risk. Also Facebook.

In real life, I like my backyard. What about you?

So we had pretty snow to wake up to this morning (a big to HP in the Caribbean!), but we STILL haven’t had First Frost in the Great Metrowest so far this season, a remarkable record considering the average First Frost date is October 6th. Also,we had sunny, breezy temps in the mid-70’s in the Great Metrowest on Thursday, just three days ago. But apparently global warming isn’t really happening. I don’t get it.

And, yup — obama is losing it. Millbank’s scoldy last line is a bit rich however:

“This is what happens when true believers mistake a mortal for a messiah.”

Hmmm, jeez Dana what could have prompted millions of otherwise sensible Democrats, Independents, and liberals of whatever vintage to “MISTAKE A MORTAL FOR A MESSIAH”? You think it might have had anything to do with jackasses like you who used subjective, fawning, biased, sexist, racist, lying, unfair, deceitful, and hagiographic reporting to DELIVER A DAMN MESSIAH to the people more effectively than Mary, Joseph, the East Star, the manger, and the damn donkey?

Either way, have a cupcake with your coffee on this somewhat crazy Sunday morning:

Ideal for women, that is.
Family planning was cut out of the Stimulus Bill.

New mammogram guidelines basically tell women with aggressive breast cancer to just GO DIE!

And the Stupak Amendment is un-freaking-Constitutional.

UPDATE: Oh, dear god. I had not heard of this horrific story when writing the headline for this post. (h/t dwp)

* * * * *
Martha Coakley kicked jackass last night at the first debate. This morning on WBUR the host asked his gasbag guest whether the Senate race was now a two-horse race (meaning bewteen Coakley and Obama water-boy Michael Capuano). The pundit said, “Well if it’s a two-way race, Coakley is riding a stallion and Capuano’s on a Shetland pony.” Ha.

Shades of last year haunted my drive home from an early a.m. piano lesson however as I listened to the post-debate roundup on the radio. The host concluded that Coakley is popular among voters of all stripes and in all areas of the state and that her reputation for competence and integrity is solid. She is practically “the inevitable Democratic candidate for Senate and her competitors are going to have to come up with something to knock her off course.” Oh shit. I wonder what THAT might be I said to myself. And I didn’t have to look long! Margery Eagan, one of the biggest Hillary Bashers of all time and a pathetically incoherent obamapologist, was already on the Bitch Bashing case:

“We’re getting Martha Coakley, though she remained her careful political self last night, setting nobody’s world on fire. She didn’t have to. She’s way ahead of opponents few have heard of. And none of them, fearing the ganging-up-on-a-girl thing, even pushed her. She made no significant mistakes, save one of omission: She alone rightly noted that among soldiers just killed in Afghanistan was a Massachusetts man. Then she failed to name him. He is Marine Capt. Kyle VanDeGiesen, of North Attleboro, husband, father, brother, son. He was 29.”

Words fail me in my attempt to describe how creepy and low-down Margery Egan is. The irony of using the death of a young father and family man to shame a politician for not being slick enough in her supposed attempt to use the death of a young father for political points in order to score political-punditry points with your readers by looking up the name of the dead father online after the fact is really, really low Egan.

Speaking of which, these wars obama is NOT WINNING are killing Americans every day (spend some time at this site if you have the fortitude):

“Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) – The U.S. military suffered another day of heavy losses in Afghanistan on Tuesday as roadside bombs killed eight U.S. service members, the U.S. military said.”

* * * * * *
In other news, A movie you should catch because it’s better than you might think.

Good political tidbits HERE, including news of George W. Bush’s inspirational speaking tour debut last night. My favorite tidbit is this (it kinda sorta makes me think back on how “convinced” I was that W. was by far the worst president EVER.):

“Josh Gerstein: “A four-hour stop in New Orleans, on his way to a $3 million fundraiser. Snubbing the Dalai Lama. Signing off on a secret deal with drug makers. Freezing out a TV network. Doing more fundraisers than the last president. More golf, too. President Barack Obama has done all of those things … What’s remarkable is what hasn’t happened. These episodes haven’t become metaphors for Obama’s personal and political character — or consuming controversies that sidetracked the rest of his agenda. It’s a sign that the media’s echo chamber can be a funny thing, prone to the vagaries of news judgment, and an illustration that, in politics, context is everything. Conservatives look on with a mix of indignation and amazement and ask: Imagine the fuss if George W. Bush had done these things? And quickly add, with a hint of jealousy: How does Obama get away with it? ‘We have a joke about it. We’re going to start a website: IfBushHadDoneThat.com,’ former Bush counselor Ed Gillespie said. ‘The watchdogs are curled up around [Obama’s] feet, sleeping soundly.’ … Bush got grief for secret meetings with the oil industry, politicizing the White House and spending too much time on his beloved bike. … “

Hmmm . . . I guess my conclusion is that W’s portrait still hangs in the Hall of Horrible Presidents in my mind, but that hanging right beside him is this:

Was listening to On Point with Tom Ashbrooke this morning on WBUR (my local NPR station), ruining an otherwise glorious drive along a Great Metrowest country road in late September. Why do we do things that cause us emotional and mental pain? Willfully agreeing to jeopardize our long-term health and general well-being?

What jackasses these jokers are. Katrina vanden Heuvel and Jack Beatty are unmitigated SNOBS and have pretty much ZERO idea of what our government is and how it’s supposed to operate. When the people govern themselves Jack and Kat it can get a bit, erm, messy. I think they honestly believe only people who have graduated from good colleges should be allowed to vote.

It’s reverse fascism. Or something. Maybe it’s “The Fascism of Good Intentions.” Hey, I like that idea — that would make a great debate topic among some super smart historian/legal/political types. Too bad all of the smart historian/legal/political types subscribe with their whole hearts and minds to the Prescribed System of Thinking for Well Intentioned Thoughtful Liberls.

Oy vey.

Meanwhile, the “president” of Iran is saying the Holocaust was made up to provide an “excuse” to set up a Jewish state in Palestine; disagreeing with the president’s policies makes you a racist; and anyone who criticizes the government or supports the Second Amendment is as bad as Lee Harvey Oswald or Sirhan Sirhan.

Also, what about this new move in Turkey to encourage families to force their daughters into “honor suicides” in order to avoid the stigma which attaches to “honor killings” so that Turkey can increase its chances of being admitted to the European Union?

Oy vey.

Anyways, for a heartwarming love story, read THIS. True, romantic love. A woman who respects her background, loves her parents, and wants to honor them. Lovely. Then read the comments. Holy smokes.

If, after reading the article and the comments you still don’t understand how it is possible for us to hate Islam but love muslim women, then you are too fucking stupid to read this blog and I invite you to please go away.

If, after watching the video of the boy being beat into submission on the school bus you still don’t understand how it is possible for us to know that hatred of white people played a part in the thug’s attack and the crowd’s support but that knowing this and hating it does NOT make us racists, then you are too fucking stupid to read this blog and I invite you to please go away.

If, after 15 months of daily posts, essays, articles, actions, and everything else, you still don’t understand that we really, truly, deeply DISAGREE about lots of things in this world and that there is no Book of Righteousness out there in which you and your “Right Way of Thinking” is described, but that our responsibility as citizens is to work together to maintain and exercise the power of the people, then you are really fucking stupid, but I hope you will continue to read this blog.

Boston Boomer has a great post up about the insanity of trying to be sane in an insane world. Her citation of this study, in which sociologists had themselves admitted to mental hospitals by pretending to be crazy and then acted normally once they were committed, only to find that the only people in the asylums who knew they were only pretending to be crazy were the actual crazy people (the doctors and nurses NEVER realized), is worth a chuckle on many levels.

Also, this from Violet Sox is a must-read. A sheepish young feminist named Hilary G, who no longer participates in PDS’ fueled misogyny, wrote:

“In the wake of the Bush presidency, McCain’s choice of a female VP seemed like an audacious ploy to differentiate his campaign from Bush’s, to redeem the Republican ideology by distancing itself from the Bush presidency. The idea that this (Republican) woman could throw the whole election somehow gave me every incentive to hate her, to believe everything I heard about her, to brand her “one of those women that make other women look bad.” She was definitely a hate receptacle. McCain wasn’t a hate receptacle, despite his Republicanism, because he was a man.”

If in fact Hilary G is a real person and that is a genuine comment, well, welcome to Pumaville Hilary G! I’m thrilled you now see the light, though I find your word choice somewhat puzzling. You were afraid Palin might be a sign that McCain’s campaign was “distancing itself from the Bush presidency” and that Palin “could throw the whole election”? Well, what the heck would be wrong with “distancing itself from the Bush presidency?? Also, another way of saying “throw the whole election” is “WIN the whole election.” For crying out loud. If a candidate, or team of candidates, and the platform they push become attractive to a large enough number of voters who go ahead and decide to VOTE for the team, that’s called WINNING AN ELECTION IN A DEMOCRACY!

It sounds like what Hilary G is really saying is that she was afraid her team was going to lose so she decided to lie, cheat, and throw her principles overboard so that she could feel like a winner.

The candidates, by design and/or by coincidence, TRY to reach out to voters and persuade them of their competence, charisma, whatever. You appear to be characterizing Palin’s appeal as CHEATING. In fact, to take the insanity masquerading as sanity theme a bit further, you appear to have decided that since the other side might WIN FAIR AND SQUARE (though you call it cheating) that you and all your friends were JUSTIFIED IN CHEATING yourselves! In my book, participating in vile smear campaigns based on blatant and disproved lies (rape kits, creationism, incest) IS cheating. Damnit it all to hell, Hilary G.

Hilary G’s perhaps inadvertently candid assessment of the behavior and motives of the Left (and their toadies in the established Feminist Movement) makes it obvious to me: We were right then and we are right now. The Powers That Be were scared witless of Hillary Clinton and they feel the same way about Palin.

Don’t forget it Pumas. Every stupid, insane crazy LIE they use to Kill The Bitch is used for one, simple reason: They are TERRIFIED of her.

Good.

Because it should be repeated every few weeks, HERE is a CLASSIC post on Clinton Derangement Syndrome and the misogyny it made commonplace.
Oh, and p.s. The SCFP, MSM, and TPTB can just knock it the fuck off with the “Sarah Palin is a Polarizing Figure” baloney. She’s a POLITICIAN nitwits — she’s SUPPOSED to be supported by some and not supported by others. Are the Boston Celtics a POLARIZING basketball team? I guess they must be, at least according to fans of the L.A. Lakers. About half of all American voters pulled the lever for obama in November. The other half voted for McCain. How come no one calls obama a “Polarizing Figure” even though at least HALF of the voters don’t like him, didn’t vote for him, and think he’s a terrible president?
