Congratulations obama! In less than three years, you’ve destroyed the Democratic Party. A congressional district in New York City that hasn’t sent a Republican to Congress in more than 75 years, delivered the mother of all repudiations to barack obama and his hopelessly failed presidency yesterday. One and Done for real.
We Pumas saw this coming a mile away, way back in the early Spring of 2008. We tried to get the media and the party poo-bahs to listen, but they had their own agenda.
“‘I am a registered Democrat, I have always been a registered Democrat, I come from a family of Democrats — and I hate to say this, I voted Republican,’ said Linda Goldberg, 61, after casting her ballot in Queens. “I need to send a message to the president that he’s not doing a very good job.”
Who knows if Ms. Goldberg voted for the Won in 2008, but even if she did, the good lady from Queens has woken up to smell the cawffee. You know what you call these Democrats and left-leaning independents who have been showing up in droves to NOT vote for obama since 2010, right? Pumas.
Keeping the record straight here.

Have I mentioned lately, BO stinks.
Have I mentioned BO is a Trojan Horse. Placed by the scumbags
who have waged a very successful war on the Democratic Party.
We are doomed, think Ron Paul…yup shivers up ones spine and gag me with Perry from Texas. WTF and OMG get my pitchfork!!
.
honora 09.14.11 at 7:42 am
Is this what Obama meant by ‘post-partisan’, having only one viable political party? Nothing like going to the polls to elect the ‘unopposed’ candidate. Partisanism is a vital component democracy. Now we have elections like they have in China. Helluva job, Barrack!
theamericanway 09.14.11 at 8:13 am
You have to love the irony of Obama’s Mission Accomplished benchmark! Thanks, Murphy for pointing it out!
Zee 09.14.11 at 12:34 pm
Yep, I saw that flipflop in the polls on the New York race a few days ago and couldn’t believe it…when I saw a Republican had won Weiner’s seat I had this same thought: it puts a crack in the veneer of Obama’s “inevitable” win in 2012. However, a special election is not the same as a regular one….just a caveat.
Regarding the link to the Crawldad Hole…very interesting analogy. Mittwit is definitely to Hillary what Perry is to Obama. I watched that debate the other night and even I had to admit Romney was looking comparatively good. And yet….the media was still treating the entire thing from Perry’s POV, as the frontrunner everyone else had to catch up to. And I wondered wth were they smoking when they spoke of Perry’s “talent” and charisma?! Let alone his looks…! He looked as if they stuffed his suit with padding and he couldn’t move his limbs…and don’t get me started on the helmet hair.
Romney and Michelle looked poised and gave strong performances. As did Cain and Huntsman. Both Newt and Ron Paul simply looked pleased to be there and spout off…they both are well aware they have no chance and are just enjoying the free ride while it lasts. Why Santorum is there is beyond me…but neither he nor Huntsman have modulated their squeaky voices. Sad because Huntsman seems to be the least religious and most into science candidate on the right. But he’s obviously under-coached and told appalling bad jokes that of course fell flat. Whoever Mitt hired as a coach is worth every penny of whatever s/he’s charging.

Hi HP!!
Zero is a Trojan ASS.
Dhyan 09.14.11 at 2:44 pm
Yes, Obama is the face when one sees what’s happened to the Democratic Party, but we must not be charitable. The Democratic Party self-destructed when the establishment pushed an unknown, unaccomplished and inexperienced man to be president during the most difficult economic time we faced since the Great Depression.

So what? She was single and it happened back in 1987. And why is it anyone’s business?
Sarah has to go through this and the lazy, incompetent and biased media won’t even investigate where obama was born?
Holy Cow!

HP…I have an Obot ensconced in my house.
You have to come visit and help me needle him, so that he leaves.
Seriously, you know how some guys are? If I asked him to leave there might be trouble. I have to cheerfully act annoying and clueless so it’s “his” idea to leave. It would boil your blood to hear him dismiss my facts about Zero as my over-emotional response to my “girl” not winning.
He was supposed to be here only a couple of months while he found his own house to buy. Now I find out he plans to take a real estate course to become his own agent and bilk his buyers agent out of his commission. I happen to know he can’t do that unless a broker actually hires him. I’m thinking he’s finding himself far too comfortable here. That happens, because I do *everything* in the house. I might not have minded, had he not been a sexist pig Obot, vehemently defending his Boyfriend in the WH.

Tidbits from NYC’s Special Election. 1) Weprin has finally conceded. 2) The winner, Turner, is the same guy who was trounced by Weiner in the previous regular election. 3) Former Mayor and Democrat Ed Koch endorsed Republican Turner, and when asked about Obama, Ed had this to say (approximately): a year or two ago, people were disappointed; now they are outraged.

Just popping in to say THANKS again for the bumper stickers! Drove out to MA for my son’s wedding last weekend and they were the talk of the town! Here in my little bitter clinger PA burg they are a hit as well!
I see that the PA PTB are looking in to changing how electoral votes are awarded here- they want to get away from the winner takes all deal. Have to give it a more thorough look see. It does seem patently unfair to me that our section of the state does not even get a delegate- the Philly and Pittsburgh areas being more densely populated. Looking at the state maps of election results- most counties went solidly Hillary- then McCain- except the blue pockets in Philly and Pittsburgh. The wishes of those in the bitter clinger areas were just thrown out. Will try to keep an eye on it. Any input appreciated!
Zee 09.15.11 at 7:59 am
#27 Headclunker, lolol! Too funny!
#16 hahahaha, goofs, that is similar to how I got rid of a friend who overstayed this summer (and still remained friends). Quit treating him like royalty, started having him walk the pup, quit having delicious food around all the time, had him help me haul stuff, decided to paint his room!
#20 Oh, dances, I know! I will give him notice after this weekend, if I don’t see him looking for a house. I’m boring, I’ll just tell him Dec-Jan is when I do renovations.
I just like to imagine ways to offend him back….maybe have my new gun club friends come over and show me how to clean guns…
Zee 09.15.11 at 8:17 am
#30 ProudMilitaryMom A pure democracy is one person, one vote. So the people in the sparsely populated areas would be out of luck…those in the densely populated areas could outvote them and if the areas had different priorities, it would be up to the rural areas to pitch their case. But we have a representative democracy, not a pure one, anyway. A lot of people want to get rid of the electoral college. (Plus, we all saw what happened at the 2008 primary when the superdelegates overrode the majority of votes for Hillary.)
I don’t know there is a fair solution for awarding delegates and awarding electoral votes, but so long as we have this system and each state decides, PA should give it a try. If other states followed suit, maybe there would be fewer “blue” states or “red” states, and eventually all of the regions would be represented regardless of state lines.
ProudMilitaryMom 09.15.11 at 9:30 am
@32- Zee- that would be great- one person one vote- but in reality it does not work out that way. Philly and Pittsburgh get a larger proportion of representation- because their population is bigger. Even though the rural counties like ours have a higher percentage of voters actually going to the polls.
So even though our county and those surrounding us went McCain- our votes essentially did not count. No elector from our county or any other bitter clinger county- cast a vote. Philly got two electors- same for Allegheny county- tow electors.
Ah what the hell- the DNC threw my primary vote off the top of the Rocky Mountains- why should I expect anything else?
Our Congressional district went solidly for McCain in the general- but the winner take all system discounted that- and there we have it- ALL Pa votes went to the fraud.
Zee 09.15.11 at 10:38 am
ProudMilitaryMom, that’s why I said PA might as well try it, and eventually it might ripple across all the states. In which case the Blue minorities in Red States might get counted as would the Red minorities in Blue states. Because we don’t have…and presumably don’t want…a national standard, it will be an ongoing process. Caucuses should be the first thing to go, along with voting systems with no ballots…I wish we could get a consensus on that, at least!
There are already a couple of states, like Maine, which have that system…but in Maine’s case thus far it has not made a difference.
Zee 09.15.11 at 10:44 am
Has anyone heard of Berlusconi’s disgusting remark about Angela Merkel? Apparently, her job of leading Germany, and the fact that it’s one of the more solvent states in the world, matters less than his assessment that she’s an “unf-ckable fat ass.” I’m glad the women in Italy have been giving that pig a hard time.
Anyway. I popped back in to say that PUMAs who have been digging into Zero’s campaign finances might find Canonfire’s latest post of interest. It’s not a “find” but more of a “possible* link, but worth a look:

Yesterday I went to see my stock broker. After our meeting, he noticed my Hillary 2012 pin that is pinned to my purse. He said he would wear a pin if he had one. Well, I happened to have an extra one in my purse and gave it to him. He said he could not wear it at the office, but would on his free time. I believe him.
Today, I went to get my hair cut. My hairdresser, who has seen my pin many times, said that he would vote for Hillary if she decides to run.
I live in a Red state. Don’t know if theses guys are Dems or Reps or Indy. What I got out of them is that The Worm is Turning. It is only 2 people, but they have realized that Hillary is the Best.

That’s great!
Try carrying the snail or email address for the DNC and SOS Clinton, and when those conversations come up, give them the addresses and tell them to write to the DNC and demand that Hillary primary Obama, and when writing to SOS Clinton, request the same. I read that fully one third of Democrtas want someone to challenge Obama in the primary. Hillary is the One!

Politico has an article about how ‘PR savvy’ PETA is. I am often taken aback by the organization’s use of sexism against women to protect animals and to support veganism. I have commented and could use some company, if you are so inclined. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0911/63646.html
Zee 09.16.11 at 8:15 am
#36 Delle….omg, not a chance! Unless they find a way to tell that story without everyone’s eyes glazing over. And I’m independently interested in all these signals they’re putting into our air, but I could not wade through that.
I did follow the link to the Solyndra (ugliest company name ever!) story, tho and found another link to the NYT which nails that problem:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/02/business/global/us-solar-company-bankruptcies-a-boon-for-china.html?_r=1&partner=rss&emc=rss
China is waging economic war against us…and winning…(as one commenter mentioned). All the vitriol needs to be directed at China which is causing new American companies with superior products to fail by China’s subsiding
the cost of everything from materials to labor.
If we need to kick Obama’s ass on this, it’s because he’s not *protecting* our investments, from China’s unfair practices. Four American solar companies have fallen within the past year. Too bad the feeble one in the White House is more interested in protecting his own ass than he is in protecting American innovation from inferior foreign predators.
Zee 09.16.11 at 8:38 am
Honora, you make a good point…it’s more than just that group, tho. The entire new generation of women have “slut walks” to prove their …feminism. To each her own kinkiness, of course, but it seems like women on a grand scale have adopted idealized porn as the norm…and not even for “shock” value.
btw, regarding vegans, Bill Clinton has gone on that diet for health reasons, but have you seen all the criminal cases across the US against vegan parents who are making their infants eat a cult diet of soy, etc, and the babies and children are suffering from emaciation, seizures and even death? These are the more ignorant parents, of course, but there should be public health warnings on trying such extreme diets on babies and young children.
DancesWithPumas 09.16.11 at 10:51 am
I agree that the parents are irresponsible / ignorant re: veganism. There are ways to be vegan without jeopardizing ones health, but if one doesn’t understand the principles of a vegan diet it can, and eventually will, be detrimental.
The same is true of the cult diet of westerners. If one eats meat and potatoes for every meal, there will be health issues.
My diet was vegan for five years, the Japanese version because those who hosted the seminars were Japanese. Michio Kushi of the East – West Center, for one. This way of eating, and living ones life, was called Macrobiotics. The basic principle was eating foods as far away from ones position on the food chain
as possible, and eating that which is 1) is in season, and 2)that which can be grown locally within (500 miles) of ones location.
Some people went to extremes (due, I believe, to ignorance) and became ill, or died, and they were the ones whose stories garnered the most publicity. “The Brown Rice” diet came to represent macrobiotics, just as “the Soy Diet” will become shorthand for veganism. Both names being as far off the mark as can be.
I can tell you that I never felt healthier in my life than when I was eating according to macriobiotics.
Also, acupuncture, acupressure, herbs, teas, etc. work almost insantly when those methods are applied to bodies where they don’t have to battle with the sludge we feed ourselves.
And, please note, the AMA, the cattle industry, Big Pharm, Insurance companies, the western foods industry, all have a vested mega-interest in rendering alternatives as whack, cuckoo, hocus-pocus, fraudulent, ineffective, etc.
Notice deaths and illness due to our western diets rarely get as much negative attention as the alternative diets. When it does their solutions are always within the context, and in support of, one or another of the western industries.
I’m not defending the ignorance of the vegan parents, just as I don’t support the ignorant parents who feed their children steady diets of the ‘traditional’ cult junk of the West.
Headed out for the weekend in the MachTurtle but had to say something about this without having to type it on my phone.
