DWP, thanks for the clarification. In the situation room picture I saw, it appeared that Obie was sitting on his hands, but now it’s apparent that he was in control.
Good morning (((Puma’s)))
I do know the first thing I did notice in the picture when it was first realeased is Hillary, with computer open, pictures & papers on the keyboard, two books in her lap, and her had on her face with a look of real concern.
Obie on the other hand looked bored as hell wishing they would just call him when all is over and it is time for him to practice with the telepromper..
LMAO Great Photo Dances
BUT BUT…He did sign some papers and as we all know paper cuts can hurt.
He will be campaigning in NYC on Thursday..going to deliver his “Mission Accomplished” speech at Ground Zero. I hear he will parachute in wearing his SUPERMAN suit.
Thanks for the laugh.
Obama, meanwhile, planned a visit Thursday to New York’s ground zero where the twin towers of the World Trade Center once stood. The towers fell in September 11, 2001, when al Qaeda hijackers flew commercial planes into them.
Obama will take part in a wreath-laying ceremony and will meet with families of victims and first responders, but will not make remarks, White House spokesman Carney said. He characterized the event as “bittersweet.”
——-
Obama “will not make remarks”, hmmm… either he took a clue from his rebuffed invitations to join him at ground zero, or, he wants to get away from the place as soon as possible in order to get in another nine holes of golf before nightfall.
I wish tomorrow wasn’t a working day, I would go back to ground zero to witness the Ozero. Oh, BTW, Fred had lots of pictures taken by strangers. He was in his buggy, looking cute.
Gotta repost this comment. I lifed it from a commenter at hillaryis44.com:

I’m just glad the Navy fed him to the fishies quickly. If they had given the Boob in Chief time to think about it, Bin Laden would probably be lying in state at the US Capitol and buried in Arlington Cemetary.
Obama was already trending up in the polls with the BC antics. As soon as people feel the bite of the rising cost of gas and groceries, the bump will be history.
Oflation is here. Predictably. If you thought unemployment was bad, wait until you get a load of this. So, unless BO gets the economy turned around, his photoshopping and chest thumping are not going to save is @$$.
#22 – Sooooo true. Gas was $4.19 a gallon when I purchased it yesterday. $30 worth of gas was a tad over 7 gallons or a half a tank.
The 99 cent store is my best friend. Just starting back to work after 3 years of not working it is horrible how much everything costs. I’m wearing pants all the time because nylons are almost 5 bucks a pair.
Not whinning or anything, just saying. How are the elderly going to get by? My sis who is on SSI, is not eligible for food stamps, which means most seniors are not. With the cost of medicine going up, they are going to have barely enough left over for food.
oscarp I do the same thing TexasTigress does with your name. I read ot as O-scarp vs Oscar-P), anyway…
these statements by the “us govt insider” are way too over the top for me to take him seriously:
Comments by Dr. Steve R. Pieczenik:
“problem is civilian leadership”
“A civilian psyops mission”
“We have a country without a military and a military without a country”
“We don’t need civilian leadership any more”
“Civilian leadership are stupid – Your listeners are smarter”
“I don’t want Obama reelected, I don’t want a Republican elected.”
All these variations of the obama /osama take down can’t be good for obama in that they will give people pause in terms of all the other things people find questionable about the lyin’ king obama.
Ten bucks says Hillary chained him to the table leg in case he got scared and tried to run away…
In the meantime, while he was running a victory lap around Ground Zero, the Blago trial dropped a HUGE bombshell”
John Harris testifies that on Nov. 10, 2008, lobbyist John Wyma called him with a message from President-Elect Obama’s camp.
The message Wyma passed along?
“That the President-elect would be thankful and appreciative if the governor would appoint Valerie Jarrett to the Senate seat,”
The next day, Valerie Jarrett pulled out of contention for the Senate seat post.
I have the “last photo” of a young NYC fireman riding on the back of his ladder truck, to see the photo it could have been any day on the way to any call but it was Sept 11, 2011 moments later the building they were there to rescue people from fell down on top of them killing them all.
But hey I am lucky some families get to have “last photos” of their loved one in free fall…Does anyone give a crap that Osama was unarmed? That he was shot in “cold blood” ? That some photos show his aides with blood coming out of their ears and mouth and NO weapons around?
DID anyone on 911 have a chance to defend themselves?
Airplanes of people flying into buildings, just sitting there, people watching airplanes flying into their offices..Defenseless.
People upset Osama maybe was shot in front of his daughter. No child should witness that but the reality is thousands of children watched their parents die on 911 and the man responsible was Osama the mass murderer…why all the concern for him?
Don’t want to upset evil lunatics with photos of a dead evil lunatic mass murderer…were any of them concerned that good decent people would have last photos of the good decent victims of this evil lunatic?
#34 – I can’t even imagine what it would be like to lose a loved one that way.
IMHO, we need to be better than the haters around the world. We are no different when we go in and shoot unarmed people, any people. He could have been taken to Gitmo, quick military trial and then executed at sea.
These are my own thoughts, they are not meant to diminish the feelings of those who have suffered. I am talking about the country, who we are as Americans, etc.
#38 – I didn’t vote for the idiot, because he is so corrupt and far right. He of course voted Aye. Already fired off a little note. I so want to get him out of office.
“i was correct in stating there had been a push to invade the compound for several weeks if not months, primarily led by Leon Panetta, Hillary Clinton, Robert Gates, David Petraeus, and Jim Clapper. The primary opposition to this plan originated from Valerie Jarrett, and it was her opposition that was enough to create uncertainty within President Obama. Obama would meet with various components of the pro-invasion faction, almost always with Jarrett present, and then often fail to indicate his position. This situation continued for some time, though the division between Jarrett/Obama and the rest intensified more recently, most notably from Hillary Clinton. She was livid over the president’s failure to act, and her office began a campaign of anonymous leaks to the media indicating such.”

“White House Insider: Obama Hesitated – Panetta Issued Order to Kill Osama Bin Laden”
“What Valerie Jarrett, and the president, did not know is that Leon Panetta had already initiated a program that reported to him –and only him, involving a covert on the ground attack against the compound.”
&&&&&&&
Q: You stated that President Obama was “overruled” by military/intelligence officials regarding the decision to send in military specialists into the Osama Bin Laden compound. Was that accurate?
A: I was told – in these exact terms, “we overruled him.” (Obama) I have since followed up and received further details on exactly what that meant, as well as the specifics of how Leon Panetta worked around the president’s “persistent hesitation to act.” There appears NOT to have been an outright overruling of any specific position by President Obama, simply because there was no specific position from the president to do so. President Obama was, in this case, as in all others, working as an absentee president.
was correct in stating there had been a push to invade the compound for several weeks if not months, primarily led by Leon Panetta, Hillary Clinton, Robert Gates, David Petraeus, and Jim Clapper. She was livid over the president’s failure to act, and her office began a campaign of anonymous leaks to the media indicating such. As for Jarrett, her concern rested on two primary fronts. One, that the military action could fail and harm the president’s already weakened standing with both the American public and the world. Second, that the attack would be viewed as an act of aggression against Muslims, and further destabilize conditions in the Middle East.
Q: What changed the president’s position and enabled the attack against Osama Bin Laden to proceed?
A: Nothing changed with the president’s opinion – he continued to avoid having one. Every time military and intelligence officials appeared to make progress in forming a position, Jarrett would intervene and the stalling would begin again. Hillary started the ball really rolling as far as pressuring Obama began, but it was Panetta and Petraeus who ultimately pushed Obama to finally act – sort of. Panetta was receiving significant reports from both his direct CIA sources, as well as Petraeus-originating Intel. Petraeus was threatening to act on his own via a bombing attack. Panetta reported back to the president that a bombing of the compound would result in successful killing of Osama Bin Laden, and little risk to American lives. Initially, as he had done before, the president indicated a willingness to act. But once again, Jarrett intervened, convincing the president that innocent Pakistani lives could be lost in such a bombing attack, and Obama would be left attempting to explain Panetta’s failed policy. Again Obama hesitated – this time openly delaying further meetings to discuss the issue with Panetta. A brief meeting was held at this time with other officials, including Secretary Gates and members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, but Gates, like Panetta, was unable to push the president to act. It was at this time that Gates indicated to certain Pentagon officials that he may resign earlier than originally indicated – he was that frustrated. Both Panetta and Clinton convinced him to stay on and see the operation through.
What happened from there is what was described by me as a “masterful manipulation” by Leon Panetta. Panetta indicated to Obama that leaks regarding knowledge of Osama Bin Laden’s location were certain to get out sooner rather than later, and action must be taken by the administration or the public backlash to the president’s inaction would be “…significant to the point of political debilitation.” It was at that time that Obama stated an on-ground campaign would be far more acceptable to him than a bombing raid. This was intended as a stalling tactic, and it had originated from Jarrett. Such a campaign would take both time, and present a far greater risk of failure. The president had been instructed by Jarrett to inform Mr., Panetta that he would have sole discretion to act against the Osama Bin Laden compound. Jarrett believed this would further delay Panetta from acting, as the responsibility for failure would then fall almost entirely on him. What Valerie Jarrett, and the president, did not know is that Leon Panetta had already initiated a program that reported to him –and only him, involving a covert on the ground attack against the compound. Basically, the whole damn operation was already ready to go – including the specific team support Intel necessary to engage the enemy within hours of being given notice. Panetta then made plans to proceed with an on-ground assault. This information reached either Hillary Clinton or Robert Gates first (likely via military contacts directly associated with the impending mission) who then informed the other. Those two then met with Panetta, who informed each of them he had been given the authority by the president to proceed with a mission if the opportunity presented itself. Both Gates and Clinton warned Panetta of the implications of that authority – namely he was possibly being made into a scapegoat. Panetta admitted that possibility, but felt the opportunity to get Bin Laden outweighed that risk. During that meeting, Hillary Clinton was first to pledge her full support for Panetta, indicating she would defend him if necessary. Similar support was then followed by Gates. The following day, and with Panetta’s permission, Clinton met in private with Bill Daley and urged him to get the president’s full and open approval of the Panetta plan. Daley agreed such approval would be of great benefit to the action, and instructed Clinton to delay proceeding until he had secured that approval. Daley contacted Clinton within hours of their meeting indicating Jarrett refused to allow the president to give that approval. Daley then informed Clinton that he too would fully support Panetta in his actions, even if it meant disclosing the president’s indecision to the American public should that action fail to produce a successful conclusion. Clinton took that message back to Panetta and the CIA director initiated the 48 hour engagement order. At this point, the President of the United States was not informed of the engagement order – it did not originate from him, and for several hours after the order had been given and the special ops forces were preparing for action into Pakistan from their position in Afghanistan, Daley successfully kept Obama and Jarrett insulated from that order.
This insulation ended at some point with an abort order that I believe originated from Valerie Jarrett’s office, and was then followed up by President Obama. This abort order was later explained as a delay due to weather conditions, but the actual conditions at that time would have been acceptable for the mission. A storm system had been in the area earlier, but was no longer an issue. Check the data yourself to confirm. Jarrett, having been caught off guard, was now scrambling to determine who had initiated the plan. She was furious, repeating the acronym “CoC” and saying it was not being followed. This is where Bill Daley intervened directly. The particulars of that intervention are not clear to me beyond knowing he did meet with Jarrett in his office and following that meeting, Valerie Jarrett was not seen in the West Wing for some time, and apparently no longer offered up any resistance to the Osama Bin Laden mission. What did follow from there was one or more brief meetings between Bill Daley, Hillary Clinton, a representative from Robert Gates’ office, a representative from Leon Panetta’s office, and a representative from Jim Clapper’s office. I have to assume that these meetings were in essence, detailing the move to proceed with the operation against the Osama Bin Laden compound. I have been told by more than one source that Leon Panetta was directing the operation with both his own CIA operatives, as well as direct contacts with military – both entities were reporting to Panetta only at this point, and not the President of the United States. There was not going to be another delay as had happened 24 hour earlier. The operation was at this time effectively unknown to President Barack Obama or Valerie Jarrett and it remained that way until AFTER it had already been initiated. President Obama was literally pulled from a golf outing and escorted back to the White House to be informed of the mission. Upon his arrival there was a briefing held which included Bill Daley, John Brennan, and a high ranking member of the military. When Obama emerged from the briefing, he was described as looking “very confused and uncertain.” The president was then placed in the situation room where several of the players in this event had already been watching the operation unfold. Another interesting tidbit regarding this is that the Vice President was already “up to speed” on the operation. A source indicated they believe Hillary Clinton had personally made certain the Vice President was made aware of that day’s events before the president was. The now famous photo released shows the particulars of that of that room and its occupants. What that photo does not communicate directly is that the military personnel present in that room during the operation unfolding, deferred to either Hillary Clinton or Robert Gates. The president’s role was minimal, including their acknowledging of his presence in the room.
At the conclusion of the mission, after it had been repeatedly confirmed a success, President Obama was once again briefed behind closed doors. The only ones who went in that room besides the president were Bill Daley. John Brennan, and a third individual whose identity remains unknown to me. When leaving this briefing, the president came out of it “…much more confident. Much more certain of himself.” He was also carrying papers in his hand that quite possibly was the address to the nation given later that evening on the Bin Laden mission. The president did not have those papers with him prior to that briefing. The president then returned to the war room, where by this time, Leon Panetta had personally arrived and was receiving congratulations from all who were present.
In my initial communication to you of these events I described what unfolded as a temporary Coup initiated by high ranking intelligence and military officials. I stand by that term. These figures worked around the uncertainty of President Obama and the repeated resistance of Valerie Jarrett. If they had not been willing to do so, I am certain Osama Bin Laden would still be alive today. There will be no punishment to those who acted outside the authority of the president’s office. The president cannot afford to admit such a fact. What will be most interesting from here is to now see what becomes of Valerie Jarrett. One source indicated she is threatening resignation. I find that unlikely given my strong belief she needs the protection afforded her by the Oval Office and its immense powers to delay and eventually terminate investigations back in Chicago, but we shall see.
I’m not worried about errors or inconsistencies in the details. Survivors, BL’s wife and daughter etc, were already giving their stories to international media. US had to get a US version out quick.
I am watching the Kentucky Derby later today. There is a female jockey named Rosie Napravnik riding a horse named Pants on Fire. No female jockey has ever won The Derby. I am wishing her success today. Rosie is 23 years old.
“From micro-credit to food assistance to education, Hillary knows that women in underdeveloped villages usually spend aid money on their families, while men more often spend it on themselves, which is a polite way of saying on liquor and prostitutes.”
One of the foreign correspondents on Fox made a slip reporting on the Bin Laden issue and started to say Obama instead of Osama, then corrected himself with Bin Laden. It just sounded too much like Obama Bin Laden.
And I just cannot help but notice how overwhelmed and unhappy BO has appeared through all the aftermath of OBL’s killing. The BObots are all guzzling koolaid and dreaming this will assure his election in 2012. But on an instinctive level I feel this is the end of him. Even the “insider” was saying that BO was using delaying tactics. Either he was never going to allow it or he was going to time it for next year closer to the election. It would all have been staged with no intel and OBL as the sacrifice to get BO reelected.
Is this Hillary’s Coup d’etat? The best revenge comes in living well and doing the right thing.

Kate Swift, Writer Who Rooted Out Sexism in Language, Dies at 87
By WILLIAM GRIMES
Kate Swift, a writer and editor who in two groundbreaking books — “Words and Women” and “The Handbook of Nonsexist Writing” — brought attention to the sexual discrimination embedded in ordinary English usage, died on Saturday in Middletown, Conn. She was 87.
::::: snip :::::
Ms. Swift turned her attention to the issue of sexist language when she and Casey Miller, her companion, formed a professional editing partnership in 1970 and were asked to copy-edit a sex education manual for junior high school students.
The stated goal of the manual was to encourage mutual respect and equality between boys and girls, but Ms. Swift and Ms. Miller, who died in 1997, concluded that the author’s intent was being undermined by the English language.
“We suddenly realized what was keeping his message — his good message — from getting across, and it hit us like a bombshell,” Ms. Swift said in a 1994 interview for the National Council of Teachers of English. “It was the pronouns! They were overwhelmingly masculine gendered.”
The partners turned in a manuscript with suggestions that sex-identifying singular pronouns be made plural, or that pronouns be avoided altogether, and that word order be changed so girls preceded boys as often as the reverse.
“The publisher accepted some suggestions and not others, as always happens,” Ms. Swift said. “But we had been revolutionized.”
Now, they wrote in the preface to their first book, “Words and Women,” “everything we read, heard on the radio and television, or worked on professionally confirmed our new awareness that the way English is used to make the simplest points can either acknowledge women’s full humanity or relegate the female half of the species to secondary status.”
Ms. Swift and Ms. Miller went on to write two attention-getting essays on the subject in 1972: “Desexing the English Language,” which appeared in the inaugural issue of Ms. magazine, and “One Small Step for Genkind,” which was published in The New York Times Magazine. “Words and Women: New Language in New Times” followed in 1976. An updated version was published in 1991.
The book illustrated the implicit biases in spoken and written English, highlighting the time-honored phrases “all men are created equal” and “land where our fathers died,” the persistent identification of women by Miss and Mrs., and the journalistic habit of describing women as divorcées or blondes, who might be pert, dimpled or cute.
Some of the authors’ proposals gained traction. Many newspapers, textbooks and public speakers avoid “fireman” and “stewardess” nowadays. Other ideas fell by the wayside, notably “genkind” as a replacement for “mankind,” or “tey,” “ter” and “tem” as sex-neutral substitutes for “he/she,” “his/her” and “him/her.”
Barbara Peabody Swift, known as Kate, was born on Dec. 9, 1923, in Yonkers, to a journalistic family. Her paternal grandfather, J. Otis Swift, wrote a daily nature column, “News Outside the Door,” for The New York World and its successor, The World-Telegram, for 40 years. Her father and mother were both newspaper and magazine journalists.
She grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., and attended Connecticut College before earning a journalism degree from the University of North Carolina in 1944. After working as a copy runner in the NBC newsroom, she enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps as a writer and editor for the Army’s information and education department.
She was a writer for the Port of New Orleans, an editorial assistant at Time and a news writer for the public relations department of the Girl Scouts of America before becoming a science writer on the public-affairs staff of the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan in 1954, serving as the press liaison for the Hayden Planetarium. In 1965 she became the director of the news bureau of the school of medicine at Yale.
She lived in East Haddam, Conn., and Georgetown, Me. Her marriage ended in divorce. She is survived by a brother, John, of Georgetown, Me., and a half-sister, Marguerite Swift of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Georgetown.
Although Ms. Swift and Ms. Miller followed up their first book with a style guide, “The Handbook of Nonsexist Writing,” in 1980, Ms. Swift insisted that she had no interest in policing the language.
“We just wanted to give people the background, to make them aware of what was happening right underneath their noses,” she said of the handbook. “We didn’t want to tell people, Do This or Don’t Do That!”
A national alert system via cell phones. Will include amber alerts and messages from obama. Special software and cell phone chips will be required by 2012:
thanks for that…I remember some of those vocabulary attempts. The first novel I wrote was set in the future, so I used these imagined vocabulary changes: heman and sheman (for man and woman) and likewise boyman and girlman. Making “man” a unisex suffix. I also favor s/he, but it’s kind of hard to speak aloud.
For PUMAs, some pictures captured of rare tigers in the wild, by a motion-triggered camera. This cub is priceless….
It never stops…but it certainly didn’t “start” in New York. From your article:
“This new emergency alert system is part of the Warning Alert and Response Network Act that was approved by Congress in 2006.”
And they’ve had tracking devices in our phones for a while now…I couldn’t quite get why the latest system in the iphones was more objectionable than all the others.
photo-shopping Herstory to make it (as always) his-story
NY Orthodox Jewish paper digitally deleted Hillary Clinton from photo of white house staff watching the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Because it doesn’t publish images of women.
Counterterrorism Director Audrey Tomason, also was deleted from the photo… (for also not having that extra appendage between her legs)
“The Brooklyn weekly Di Tzeitung, which says it doesn’t publish images of women, printed the doctored photo Friday. It issued a statement saying its photo editor hadn’t read the “fine print” accompanying the White House photo that forbade any changes.”
The newspaper said it has sent its “regrets and apologies” to the White House and the Department of State, but said it has a “long standing editorial policy” of not publishing women’s images. It explained that its readers “believe that women should be appreciated for who they are and what they do, not for what they look like, and the Jewish laws of modesty are an expression of respect for women, not the opposite.” (coughcoughbullshitcoughcough)
They have been trying to do this here for years. I remember signing petitions in my local health food store and calling Sen. Moynahan’s office. Moynahan was senator before Hillary, so I am going back to the 90s.
So far, the people have been successful. But with the obots taking over health care and this news coming from Europe, I am afraid it is only a matter of time before the FDA takes away our right to purchase herbs and vitamins.
So, stock up on them while you can. I guess I will store mine away with all of my extra light bulbs!
The Dimocrats sent me an inquiry about Wasserman and what they should be doing for 2012. I told them Wasserman was fine, they just need to kick BO to the curb and nominate HRC for the presidential candidate.
Delle – From other posts, I seem to remember that you are very much against TSA’s pat downs. How often do you fly ? Just curious ?
I fly very often, and I totally welcome any pat downs as I don’t trust all my fellow passengers. However, my last pat down was 20 flights or more ago (make that 20 x 20 as return flights) in the last two years. If you have been up in the air on a plane on 9/11 and know that on your flight there was a huge group of people in long religious clothing resembling middle easterners, all men… and the entire international airport is deserted and VOID of people and your plane is the only one being hustled into a secure area. you think about suicide bombers, you would think twice about the inconvenience of pat downs. If people don’t like pat downs or walking through metal detectors, they should just drive. Life is never going to be the same after 9/11, we have to deal with it and accept it. I understand you don’t like it . Just wondering if you fly a lot that you so hate the inconvenience. We literally breeze in everytime…. even NY, even dog and lots of bags in tow
If I remember correctly, you travel for business. I travel for pleasure, so you obviously fly more than I do. My last trip was to Austria. That was last May before the instrusive pat downs began.
We had plans to travel to Texas 2 weeks ago, to visit my husband’s sister and her family. At the last minute we cancelled. I was going to try to handle it as best I could, but my husband was getting more aggitated as we got closer to the flight date. When he told me that if any government worker put his hands down his (Hubby’s) pants, we would all be reading about it the next day in the newspapers – I believed him. Knowing Hubby, he wouldn’t stand for anything like that without making quite a fuss. So we cancelled and I’m not really sure when we will travel by plane again.
Besides being treated like one of the sheep, the problem as I see it is that they have no authority to do these pat downs. In any other situation, a warrant would be required before a government agent could search your home or your person. That warrant would have to be issued by a judge only when reasonable suspecion of a crime had been found. What did the passengers do to cause suspicion? They merely want to board a plane.
That being said, I really have no solution to this problem. I suppose many people feel more secure and therefore don’t mind giving up their rights. I’m not sure if I am one of them.
To close – when the pat downs first began, I read a comment on another blog. I think it was FreeMeNow where someone wrote that after seeing the lines of passengers awaiting their pat downs, she no longer had to wonder how the Jews marched so calmly to their deaths. That thought really got to me. After all, once we start to submit, when will it end?
It is really a coincidence that I read this story now, but it does relate to the issue of pat downs. Once we submit to their body searches, the authorities will think they can illegally enter our homes:
Etta James Hospitalized
(CNN) — Legendary singer Etta James has been hospitalized with a blood infection, her son told CNN Friday.
Sametto James said his 73-year-old mother was admitted to a hospital in Southern California on Monday due to a urinary tract infection that led to sepsis. She remained in the hospital Friday, he said.
“She’s doing a little bit better, but she’s not out of the woods quite yet,” Sametto James said.
Etta James, best known for her 1961 hit “At Last,” was hospitalized in 2010 due to a dangerous staph infection. She was diagnosed in 2009 with Alzheimer’s disease.
Btw, before people spend too much time on the name of the hospital on the alleged lfbc, here’s a thread with links to images of other lfbc’s of 1961 and earlier showing the same hospital name. http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=4021592
Also on h44 is evidence that the name ‘Kenya’ was in common use in the 1950s. Sheena of the Jungle was there!
I think I have recently experienced the forerunner of Obamacare. It was a nightmare. I know all my deductibles have gone up and the health insurance companies are paying less. The doctors appear to be responding by cutting services.
These particular services were for dental. Some group called Gentle Dental (IdealDentalCare.com) is taking over all the dental offices in the area. First, they took over the office of my existing dentist. My daughters dentist is no longer seeing children over 7 years old because none of the plans are paying for pediatric care for children over that age. So I had to find one for her and they recommended one at one of their other offices.
At my own doctor’s office they husseled me with frivolous dental work and had problems getting me scheduled for anything that did not seriously screw up a 9-5 work schedule. Then, the office called me up the day before my appointment and told me my appointment was in one hour and that I did not have an appointment for the next day. It was for something that could not wait, so what could I do? But, boy was I angry!!!
I thought it was the new receptionist at my doctor’s office until I tried to get my daughter services. Then they started to pull the same stuff. They actually called me up to “confirm” an appointment with me for 20 min earlier than they had originally scheduled and then when I got there 7 minutes late for the one I scheduled, they cancelled my appointment because we were more than 15 minutes late for the one they “confirmed”. Now, I had left work and taken my daughter out of school to do this.
That was it! That was our third visit there and all they had done was x-ray and clean my daughters teeth. I got her x-ray and treatment plan and went to another dentist. Thank goodness. Their treatment plan was full of frivolous treatment, including filling cavities she did not have.
This is some scarey stuff and working class people are stuck in the middle. I am so f’n fed up with these stinkin’ wingnuts and their dysfunctional ideologies!
NEW DELHI — Two Muslim mothers have been arrested after allegedly killing their daughters for dishonoring the family by eloping with Hindu men, police in northern India said Sunday.
America has an Achilles’ heel. It lies on a quiet, unpopulated stretch of the Mississippi River in Louisiana, a few miles east of the tiny town of Simmesport. Rising up from the flat, wooded west flood plain of the Mississippi River tower four massive concrete and steel structures that would make a Pharaoh envious–the Army Corps’ of Engineers greatest work, the billion-dollar Old River Control Structure. This marvel of modern civil engineering has, for fifty years, done what many thought impossible–impose man’s will on the Mississippi River. Mark Twain, who captained a Mississippi river boat for many years, wrote in his book Life on the Mississippi, “ten thousand river commissions, with the mines of the world at their back, cannot tame that lawless stream, cannot curb it or define it, cannot say to it “Go here,” or Go there, and make it obey; cannot save a shore which it has sentenced; cannot bar its path with an obstruction which it will not tear down, dance over, and laugh at.” The great river wants to carve a new path to the Gulf of Mexico; only the Old River Control Structure keeps it at bay. Failure of the Old River Control Structure would be a severe blow to America’s economy, interrupting a huge portion of our imports and exports that ship along the Mississippi River. Closure of the Mississippi to shipping would cost $295 million per day, said Gary LaGrange, executive director of the Port of New Orleans, during a news conference Thursday. The structure will receive its most severe test in its history in the coming two weeks, as the Mississippi River’s greatest flood on record crests at a level never before seen.
I have never been able to listen to Ron Paul for any length of time, but I made a particular effort just now while he was on Fox. Now, that’s a dysfunctional wingnut ideology. Blathering moron.
#82 – I’m still here. It’s just taking a while to get back into the swing of things after being out of work over 2 years.
Had to share a big “Thank goodness!” with everyone on this story….
Trump says will not run for president in 2012
BOSTON (Reuters) – Billionaire real estate magnate Donald Trump said on Monday that he will not run for the White House in 2012.
The host of NBC-TV’s “Celebrity Apprentice” said the decision came after “considerable deliberation and reflection” after weeks of an unofficial campaign.
“I maintain the strong conviction that if I were to run, I would be able to win the primary and ultimately, the general election,” Trump said in a statement.
I’m not sure if I can say thank goodness about Trump. I don’t like him that much, but I can’t think of anyone else who can challenge zero the way that he can.
Anyway, another subject I recall being discussed on this blog in recent months is the collapse of the bee population. There might finally be an answer to that puzzle. Believe it or not, it could be cell phones:
Yup Delle my daughter and I were just talking about the Bees.
Also the decline of bats and oddly enough also mosquitoes, the food of the bats!!!
Cell phones? I believe it is pollution.
The price of cell phones is even higher than that. For all the denial, the incidence of brain cancer has gone up since their widespread use in the mid 1980′s. Big $$’s are involved and appear to be influencing the organization and presentation of any studies that show increased incidents. Reading between the lines, it looks like the biggest increase is in frontal lobe cancers.

Trump says will not run for president in 2012
——————–
I won’t be voting for any more boiz in this lifetime, but I was looking forward to a Trump campaign. Obama needed / needs someone to hand him his ass and Trump was just the one to do it.
Awww. shucks. Trump is not running.
I hope that guy continues to skewer the presidents ass every so often. It is nice to see someone top the arrogance of Obama and not apologize about it.
I asked my husband if he has been patted down in the 10 years of flying 20 times a year. Not that he can remember is what he said. Me, neither. the best I got was a scanning wand passed over me. What are the odds that everyone is, but we have not been groped (or sent to the gas chamber ). I guess if you travel with a cutie like Fred…
#90 – It’s going well. I’m working thru a staffing agency right now. I do new home sales and builders are not hiring, or they want to see your talents first by having you work for them from a staffing co, then they hire.
I’m taking every day that the agency can give me but it is still not a lot of money. Keep your fingers crossed that I get picked up by a builder soon.
The agency that I am working with is the highest ranked for new home sales agents, very rigorous testing, etc. That goes a long way with the builders. That why I was so happy to have them pick me up. It’s a start and right now I’m happy to be making any money.
(((goofsmom)))) So happy you are working again.
My daughter has been out of work for over a year now, will soon have to move in with me, the “government” has ruined our economy. They can not “fix” it, they are the problem!
#93 – Thank you! It has been 3 years and 3 months since I had a job, so I understand what your daughter is going thru. I was applying for anything and everything. I had interviewers that told me I was overqualified, some said they had concerns that I would leave when the Real Estate market turned around, etc, etc, etc….
Then my license lapsed and I didn’t have the money to renew, plus the RE market was so bad that I really wanted to try something else. With so many qualified people out of work, employers weren’t willing to take a chance and train, I couldn’t blame them, they had their pick of people that wouldn’t need training.
Then a wonderful lady friend stepped forward and helped cover the cost of my classes to get my qualifications current and paid my license fee. As soon as it was active I was off to the races.
All I can say to your daughter is never give up hope, blessings come from unexpected places.
Goofs so glad to see all your happy smiles! (smile)
I have a good idea who helped you with your quest, one awesome Puma is who I’m thinking.
I am sure my daughter will do well in my area of the State, more jobs, although still tough, than her present location. Thanks for your encouragement and kind words.
Yup Delle Obatshit is going to give the Republicans everything they want ( which is his real job) then they will shoot him……Say hello to Mitttheshit in 2012.
Goofsmom,
So happy that you are at least out there.
We snuck out for breakfast on a work day this morning !!
And on the front of the (I think) US news or something…they talked about un-employment. Basically it is not looking too great. But as an employer I feel that there are so many flakes out there as well. I recently hired a girl
20 years old, good looking, fast talker (talks a lot) for just $12 an hour.
Second day on the job, I had to tell her more than 3 times that she need to say please when asking to speak to some one on the phone..especially when you want something from them… and not like you’re paying your bill or something. She could not do it !!! She sounded so demanding and blunt – not how I want our customers to be talked to. She cried and cried and told us about her drama with her life and husband who abused her but she acts like she is hot shit just to cover up. Long story short, I paid her $300 for 10 hours work and we have taken her on as a personal project to build up her confidence and reality check etc etc. She really wants to come in and watch this just turned 18 year old girl we hired, work-She is amazing. We didn’t know she even existed,, just across the street behind us. Just 18 years old and working after school and about to get her 2nd raise in 3 months because she gets it and has not pretense about her. I now have customers that only want to speak to her, don’t even want to talk to me (and I thought I was good). Customer service is so important….I guess that is my point. Everyone tells us we have the best customer service girls…and that is because I demand a certain quality.
Now, instead of getting an employee, we have a young, pretty, abused young girl who thinks it is OK to be taken care of by her navy husband who abuses her and she in turn is a blubbering crying heap, who tells him she wants to kill herself. She found in us a very UN-forgiving, tough talking, no nonsense people and she LIKES (!) it enough to come back (unpaid) for more.
When I paid her the $300 (in $100 bills) I told her, for each time she cried, I will take back $100. Guess what, she never did cry again. She herself found it very eye opening. I was serious too. I have a baby sitting job now. But as my husband said, if I say I want to help women, then I should help this one. Sigh.
WEll, HP – If you’re not being sarcastic…
I don’t need pats but I just feel sorry for young girls that think guys are their be all and end all in life. I really told her that, if she says she wants to kill herself, that she needs to know that in a month or less, no one will know or remember her so don’t threaten to do it unless she means it. Of course, I know she is just full of shit and from her face I could tell she is just one of those girls who blurb,”Don’t leave me or I’ll kill myself” just so to get some love from an abuser. I really want to slap some sense into them but I HAVE to take the difficult route. Sigh. IT takes a lot of energy. As FL Barbara would probably know, it is energy sapping. It is during my work hours – me,a workaholic stopping for drama !
I can’t help but smile, I’m happy to have a job! I’d rather be underpaid than not paid at all! I’m wishing your daughter lots of good luck.
Freddie,
You are a very good person. I know the type you are talking about and yes, I too have felt the urge to ask them why they value themselves so little. I blame society as a whole because of all the superficial, stereotypical horsesh*t that it tells, shows, and admonishes girls to be and act like. You are being the matriarch she should have had as a child.
Great job!
Nope Freddie.
Spread good Karma where ever you go.
Be very careful, liability is always a possibility when you choose to council some one about suicide.
HP Boston… thanks – I know what you mean about counselling on suicide. I am not qualified but after hours of talking to her, I know she is just using it as a means to frighten the guy. She admits she wasn’t going to do it. Just want to make him love her. She is a tall, nice looking white girl but that’s not the point, really. She has very little self worth with this guy which is her first boyfriend since 16 . She choose to use all sorts of ways to cover up her lack of means and self worth eg. declares only uses Coach handbags – like I am impressed when they are renting a room somewhere ? Well, I had to point out the ridiculousness in her ways – Which she says no one has ever called her on all these stupid ideas – of which she has plenty.
She has since in a few days, been motivated to learn how to make jewelry from her friend and I am giving her some projects.
HI PUMAS
Some news from No Limits…seems Hillary is talking about some real issues…compared to IMEMYSELFMINE.
THE UGANDA ANTI-GAY BILL – OFF THE TABLE FOR NOW? The Anti-Homosexuality Bill proposed in Uganda seems to be off the table – at least for now. The bill was proposed in October 2009, and was set for debate by the full parliament on last Wednesday, until it was dropped from the schedule on the last day of parliament. Under the proposed law, homosexuals would receive life imprisonment, “aggravated” homosexuality or those who were gay and HIV positive could be sentenced to death by hanging, and if a citizen knew of a homosexual person, and did not turn them in to authorities, he or she could be sentenced to seven years in jail.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has spoken out against this so called “Kill the Gays Bill”. According to human rights activists in and outside of Uganda, harassment of gays has greatly intensified since the introduction of the bill. Governments, human rights organizations and people all over the world have condemned the bill. The future of this egregious bill is still unknown, but it is tabled until the parliament meets again.
Head of IMF (potential candidate to oust French Prime Minister of France)rapes possibly Aids infected 32 year old South African cleaning maid. No one senses a conspiracy ? Off to the gas chambers for me.
“if a citizen knew of a homosexual person, and did not turn them in to authorities, he or she could be sentenced to seven years in jail”.
Just adding Uganda to the list of places where I would end up in jail.
Top of my list is Saudi Arabia…because for sure I would be driving a car which is illegal for a woman and since I would be unable to see from behind my damn Burqua there would be plenty of wounded.
Then there’s the land of Ironmydinnerjacket
Where as I’d be jailed for calling him a Misogynist Pig..Make that the whole Middle East.
NY it is…At least in NY they jail the misogynist Pigs.

What makes you come up with a conspiracy? Men rape. Men are responsible for their actions and their weinies.
It’s possible that the woman is HIV positive, altho, it could be her husband, child, whoever she lives with in the apartments reserved for HIV+ and people with AIDS.
I don’t understand th ereason for your ‘gas chambers” comment either.
DWP – Yes, men rape. But the situation is too bizzare considering the stakes the guy has. But I am not for the men here…lest we forget Arnold the terminator, governator, fornicator..that’s my husbands 2 cents. some women do make it up – not often but it has happened. Lacrosse boys and their accuser who was eventually arrested for killing her boyfriend.
Gas Chamber : according to Delle and I am paraphrasing, she thinks people not minding going through airport security as sheep – akin to people being hearded to the gas chambers during Hitlers time. I am just being a wise ass as the comparison just cracks me up.

Yes, my first thought/observation too. ever notice how Obama is always missing some file, book, papers, laptop, etc. in these pics? I guess we’re supposed to assume he just knows everything through osmosis. When you see pics of Bill Clinton (and go back to JFK even) their desks are cluttered with papers, files, etc. Obama’s is eerily empty.

How many “powerful” males have risked it all in the name of their weinies and their over-inflated sense of entitlement? Clinton, Bush 1, Eisenhower, Kennedy (Ted, Jack, Bobby, and their sons and nephews), Jesse Jackson, Jesse Jackson Jr, Woody Allen, Robin Williams, Spitzer, Arnold, et al, and now this freak. Besides, the “powerful” who are accused usually have enough connections / money to pay off their accusers.
Agreed that there have been women who have accused falsely. The fact that those incidents can be named speaks to the rarity of false accusations. Given the peni-centric unnatural nature of this planet, and the frequency of rape, I always believe the women / children until their accusation is proven false.
It’s also interesting, predictable really, that many male bloggers are yelling and screaming about the unfairness of the accused being perp walked when he hasn’t been proven guilty yet. They conveniently overlook the fact that the perp has been CHARGED. OJ was also CHARGED but his dimwitted jury decided he was not guilty. (pfffft).
With Arnie, the boiz are screaming about how Maria knew Arnold’s track record with sexual abuse, so, 1) she should have known this would happen, 2) since she knew how / what arnold is therefore she isn’t a victim of his betrayal.
I think boiz tend to take this tact because they over-identify with the perps, realizing that they themselves are weak and could be in the same situation… it often seems like it is a thin line for them, therefore if they blame the woman/women constantly, their blaming will take hold and be the first thought anyone has when they hear some smuck being accused of rape.
That stinkin’ IMF chief has probably been raping women for years. If he was set up it was by someone who knew what he was doing and found it convenient to catch him at it.
Geeze, they are saying the woman was a widow who lived with her child in housing for adults with AIDS.
I just think leaping to ‘the gas chamber” is a huge leap and minimizes the reality of Hitler’s Germany and the 11 million he rounded up and murdered.
————
I don’t think so, it seems to be an apt analogy. Not much can ever minimze Hitler, O’bummer seems to be working on it though.
((goofs)) ((HP—and daughter)) and everyone else…pulling for everyone to pull thru…
omg…my son just graduated, my mom was here and just left…good stress is still stress…a little overwhelmed right now.
Have more to share…hahahaha, did anyone see the story on Peter Fonda calling Zero a traitor?? Look it up, I’ll try to provide links later. It’s about Zeroloser’s capitulation on BP in the Gulf.
Anyway, nose above water here, and son here for his last summer at home. “It’s all good” as the saying goes..!
Hi Zee
Congratulations to you and your son!
btw, your comment should read:
“…did anyone see the story on Peter Fonda calling Zero a (expletive) traitor??”
I think I remember reading that Fonda included the expletive in his note to obama. Heh!
Jeezus! 4 days ago!! Fonda called obatshit a fucking trator!
Fonda is still alive after such a crime? Hell it must be the email got deleted with the other 7 billion fucktard “fan” mail the despot recieved.
Lucky for you Henry.
(evil)
Zee
Happy you have the summer to be with your son. I am sure he will fit you into his last carefree days.
Congrats to you and son!
Now do not think it is because you cook!
Huckabee ripped BO on his show tonight for his Israeli backstabbing. I have decided I like him since he decided to remain a TV personality instead of actually being a in a direct position of power over people. Now, if BO had only been so wise.
Yup Hucklebee is from LA LA Land. That is stick your fingers in your ears when he speaks and yell loudly LA LA LA LA LA!!!
It is the sure cure from the retching and puking he causes.
The author thinks she will have to wait until 2016. It seems so far away

This is the same ole message “they” are sending out on a regular basis.
You are right. I never pay much attention to editorials. This is just one person’s opinion. By tomorrow the same person will have a different opinion and so on.
ZEE oh darn no baynews….so go here. Henry is a MEMBER!!!

I haven’t seen much on tv re: obama’s trip. It was Netanyahu’s address to Congress this morning (NO TELEPROMPTER), and news of the tornados this afternoon and evening. What a relief not to have his face on tv all day.

omg… Oblahbleagh trying to toast the Queen, has to look down at his notes after every three words! Meanwhile, the Queen’s head is bobbing watching Omoron’s head bobbing! What a freaking embarassment he is…
“For his toast, Obama mentioned the queen’s long reign and the enduring links between the two countries.
“To Her Majesty the Queen,” Obama said, toasting “the vitality of the special relationship between our two peoples” and quoting William Shakespeare’s tribute “to this blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England” from “Richard II.” In an apparent miscue, the orchestra began playing “God Save the Queen” before Obama concluded, forcing him to speak over the music.
OMG talk about ya akward moments..I got my Peter and Henry mixed up!!!
Oh well a Peter or a Henry is a small thing compared to the stupiddickheadinchief.
I know this isn’t a blog wherein we relate our personal experiences, but I hope you all don’t mind if I do just that. This is certainly OT, but I just had one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I hope I’m not being dramatic, but that is the way it feels right now.
I was walking in my neighborhood, a few blocks from my home, when I passed a little dead bird on the walk. I walked around it; didn’t go near it; didn’t touch it; didn’t disturb it at all! Nevertheless, I suddenly heard a squawk and what sounded like flapping wings very close to my ear. Then I felt a prick on my bare arm. I was so scared. I think I opened my mouth to scream, but nothing came out. I waved my arms around frantically trying to chase it away. Then I saw it headed for me again. I raised my arm and hit the bird hard with the back of my hand. I was afraid it was going for my face. I then walked as quickly as I could off that block.
The entire episode took only a few seconds, but I was shaking. As I walked home my knees felt wobbly. As soon as I entered my house I burst into tears and wasn’t able to calm down for several minutes. In fact I am still crying. And still shaking.
There is nobody here. Hubby is at work. No one’s around. And I feel like telling somebody what happened.
Believe it or not, I already feel slightly calmer after having written it down. Thank you so much for letting me post it here.
Why smart women still don’t make it up the career ladder
There are fewer men in mortarboards these days, no doubt about it. According to census data released last month, American women surpassed men in both undergraduate and graduate degrees for the first time in history.
While nearly half of law schools grads are women, only about 16 percent of equity partners at the top 200 largest law firms are. Nearly one-third of MBAs are earned by women today, but corporate boards of Fortune 100 companies are still comprised of just 15 percent women. About half of those earning MFAs are women, and yet about 23 percent of solo shows in New York galleries feature work done by women.
I’m feeling calmer now. Hubby is home from work. As soon as he came in the door, he could tell there was something wrong. When he asked, I burst into tears again.
I really don’t mean to carry on so. Being attacked by a bird is trivial compared to living through one of the tornadoes that is rampaging through the country now. I realize that.
But it was such a frightening experience. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
been awhile since i have posted..i still come by and read though.
thanks for all the articles and links.
its kinda difficult to sit at the puter right now..but nothing could keep me from visiting my (((Pumas))).
Puma Forever!!
also..for all the Pumas in the path of these monster storms..please stay safe. XOXO
What a freakish nightmarish incident. Do you think you should get some tests? Was your skin pierced?
Maybe the thing to do is officially report it to your mayor’s office or something, in case it’s a trend and caused by some communicable disorder amongst birds.
I know what you mean, tho, about the horrible monster storms. It’s hard to feel justified complaining about anything when so many are losing everything.
HP, I was LMFAO this morning when I peeked in.
(re your comments on Peter Fonda.)
Up at 5:30 am, with the lovely sunshine today. Leapt out of bed to stay ahead of the garbage trucks and carted out some of the final debris I had left in the basement. Not sure if anyone remembers my long ago carping about clearing out my hoard, and painting my attic, etc.
Well, I’m closing in on done. Painted the attic two lovely tones of some kind of light chocolate malt. One of the names of the shade was “Picnic Basket”—can’t remember the other!
12 hours of cleaning today. Realtor coming Friday…hoping to rent out this Old House and take a VACATION in a small little rental where I can take a break from responsibilities for a while and just live.
Oh, and I was up so early I watched part of the Oloser giving a joint press conference over in the UK. I was jotting down unbelievable crap till I got bored…how anyone could mistake this clown as “eloquent” is a joke. His pacing is an atrocity. One tiny example out of many:
“….our armed…..forces” The moron can’t even spit out a common phrase, but has to wait for the next teleprompted word and jerk his head to make sure it’s “armed forces.” Yeah, armed forces. Ever hear of that plain English phrase?
Ya Zee don’t ya just love the names on the paint colors.
I have Solitude on my walls or is it Thunder? Forgot! I on the other hand picked TWO went with ONE……I am to old to waste time picking out paint or watching it dry!!!
Delle
How big was the bird? A big black crow could be dangerous, a sparrow, not so much. It sounds like a baby had fallen from the nest maybe trying to fly and the other bird was protecting it.
Zee
Congratulations on clearing out the old and making way for the new. I’m trying to do that too in my condo, but the fates are putting every obstacle in my way. I really do believe the old adage of ‘if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all’ was written for me. I keep plugging away, but I need a vacation, now. Not going to happen unfortunately.
This euopean trip has not been the best for the Obamas. First the limo gets stuck, then MO dress flies away at the trooping of the guard at the Palace, then BO flubs the toast to the Queen. I watched most of this live on tv coverage as it took place and was shaking my head. The British are so proper and stoic that it made it so much worse. Hillary looked stunning at the state dinner.
The bird that attacked me was a black crow. I don’t really know how big it was, since it all happened so fast.
I have a little mark on my arm where the bird pricked me and a round swollen mark – like a welt – on the back of my hand where I hit it to get it away. Nothing serious.
The bird on the ground was a small black crow. It was already dead, which was why I was so shocked to see the violence of the big crow.
I called my town clerk’s office and reported it – as Zee advised. Someone should be sent to pick up the dead bird. Whoever gets the job should be aware of the attack and take precaustion.
Hi! Thanks for checking on us here in Missouri. It has been quite a week! I am fine. We’ve had some really scary weather here the last few days. We had tornado warnings all day yesterday as well. One of the tornadoes was about 2 miles from my house. The one good thing in St. Louis is that most of us have basements which makes a big difference for safety.
On Tuesday, MSNBC host Ed Schultz referred to radio show host Laura Ingraham as a “slut.” In fact, the word flowed so effortlessly off his tongue, he referred to her as a “slut” twice in two sentences! Yesterday, Schultz made an on-air apology and took a self-imposed one-week suspension without pay.
But Schultz’s short work leave is hardly fodder for revelry. Under MSNBC President Phil Griffin, who has had executive oversight of MSNBC since 2006, the cable network has displayed a consistent disdain and disrespect for women in leadership and public life.
It’s time we do something about it! Griffin must immediately institute corporate governance or resign!
READ our op-ed featured at The Daily Caller:
MSNBC is a cesspool of misogyny
During the 2008 election, MSNBC was the leading culprit in overt sexism — the channel was filled with poster-boys of sexism: Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, David Shuster, Pat Buchanan and Mike Barnicle…
Under Griffin’s leadership, the cable network has continued its unabated disdain for women leaders. From “a big mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it” (Olbermann) to “balloon head” (Matthews) to “If Palin wasn’t hot would we be talking about her?” (Deutsch). It’s like 2008 never even happened. Well, sorry, Mr. Griffin: it did!
SIGN our petition:
MSNBC President Phil Griffin must immediately institute Corporate Governance on Sexism or Resign!
It is time that MSNBC stops it’s on-air reign of terror against women leaders!
Well, I got the news today that I passed my professional engineers exam. It is just something I have been meaning to do for the last 25 years.
The percentage of women in engineering reached a maximum of around 20% and is on the decline. Today I came up with a good name for the mental disorder apparent in some of the men I work with. Alphafemalephobic.
That is: totally terrified of alpha females that expect them to just do the right thing.
I am ok I had a close call as well. Tornado to close for comfort. My prayers and heart go out to all the folks who are suffering from loss of loved ones and homes. I will not forget you!
#176 Headclunker….mega-congrats and I love your coinage! Alphafemalephobic, indeed.
AFP’s.
It was a woman engineer at my son’s school who recommended him for the job he then landed. I had a chance to meet her and her family at his graduation, and what a confident, self-assured young woman she was. Boatloads of that, with no grandstanding, just down to earth and secure in herself…with a very loving and proud family supporting her. The guyz, including my son…are guys. Oblivious in many ways…but still, not AFP’s. So there is real-hope for real-change..she was neither objectified nor condescended to, or resented, and since she had a boyfriend amongst them, she was also not just one of the boys to at least one there!
But I bet in the general population she is met with much prejudice, so we need all the women engineers we can get!
‘if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all’
jeez, I so relate. And the icing on the cake will be to get my house in beautiful shape only to hand it over to others. But I look at that as a VACATION from house ownership crushing responsibilities. Right now I’m communicating with an awesome family from Texas who, for some reason, want to leave their warm state and come here and deal with oil heat and shoveling nonstop snow.
#167 HP….hahahaha, I kid you not, I watch the damn paint dry. Yep, I do know that life’s too short.
Just a shout out to Murphy. You know we all miss you, but maybe you need to hear that. Also…I can so relate to the overwhelming changes that take over one’s life at certain points. I know I’m not the only one. Anyway, reach out if you need anything…this summer Boston will be full of poets and workshops, if you want to indulge in any of that. I haven’t written anything in three months and will be very much on the sidelines because of family priorities and responsibilities. So it goes…
Headclunker – So glad you posted the article about the hateful man Ed Schultz.
People in the public eye that come on TV or radio, need to know that there are consequences for calling someone vile names. In this case, a woman whom he has differing views. Ed Schultz is normally a very hateful looking man and he needs to know that it is not acceptable to call someone a slut on radio. Don Imus lost his job as a radio comic commentator calling some women nappy headed.. Slut is even worst. Is anyone else on this blog offended or are we all numb to all this because it happens too many times. Just curious. If it was a white woman or man calling a black woman or man such choice insults, you can bet heads are already on a platter and Al Sharpton is already given his 3rd public rant on it.
On Tuesday, MSNBC host Ed Schultz referred to radio show host Laura Ingraham as a “slut.” In fact, the word flowed so effortlessly off his tongue, he referred to her as a “slut” twice in two sentences! Thanks for all the good wishes. I am going to start a solar energy business (although I am not quitting my day job). Solar energy technology is so not there. Alot of very interesting stuff, but no focus.
All rapes in Norway in the past 5 years committed by muslims. But, they aren’t allowed to call muslims muslims any longer. They are now called ‘non western immigrants’:
Road trip! Picked up SF-Puma in SFO.
We’re now at a campsite in Mendocino County,
about 40 miles south of Fort Bragg. Drove the last 100 miles or so on Hwy 1 (Pacific Coast Hwy)… magnificent land / seascape. And everything is green and lush and fresh and gorgeous!!
Look how he is leaning towards Michelle. See that look on his face! Notice Obama’s hand. That’s not a gesture of greeting, but rather Obama is holding him back.
What a creepy man!
I have a feeling that his reputation was well known long before the incident in NY.
Goofs, I hate hate hate weeding and gardening! Almost as much as I hate paperwork.
I meant weeding out stuff. I’m still working on it. Finished a wallpaper job today….and got rid of the stupid BOX of supplies that was sitting there gathering dust and reminding me of the unfinished project. It breaks my heart how good it looks and how long I lived with it undone. And I’m looking to handing my home over to others because I can’t swing this place alone, so that’s one I blew for finishing in time to enjoy it!
On a happier note, I celebrated the holiday weekend, plus b-days and graduations, with a friend in her new sprawling insanely awesome home. I mean better her than me, with all the work the place needs, but dannnng. When I walked in to see three drop dead gorgeous lead crystal chandeliers hanging from ornate plaster medallions in the foyer, dining and living rooms, plus the curved staircase, I could not stop exclaiming. All that, and vintage wallpaper, too…!
Third anniversary of the May 31st Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting. The end of democracy within the Democratic Party. I was in DC that day and it has changed my life. To all my fellow PUMAs, I hope our Country is able to heal from the fraud and deceit that is Obama.

Obama was overruled in his decision, but there is a lot more than that. It is being called a coup within the WH by Leon Panetta and Hillary:

Patraeus was there too. Obama and Jarrett didn’t want to go for the kill and kept stalling.
Now obama is travelling around the country taking credit. He’ll even be here in NY tomorrow.

Q/A with “Insider”.
Here’s the link:
socyberty.com/issues/white-house-insider-obama-hesitated-panetta-issued-order-to-kill-osama-bin-laden/
&&&&&&&
Stay safe.”

Enjoy the bump, BO.

She was 87.
::::: snip :::::
“We didn’t want to tell people, Do This or Don’t Do That!”

thanks for that…I remember some of those vocabulary attempts. The first novel I wrote was set in the future, so I used these imagined vocabulary changes: heman and sheman (for man and woman) and likewise boyman and girlman. Making “man” a unisex suffix. I also favor s/he, but it’s kind of hard to speak aloud.

Hundreds of herbal remedies now outlawed across Europe:
http://www.naturalnews.com/032389_herbal_remedies_Europe.html
They have been trying to do this here for years. I remember signing petitions in my local health food store and calling Sen. Moynahan’s office. Moynahan was senator before Hillary, so I am going back to the 90s.
So far, the people have been successful. But with the obots taking over health care and this news coming from Europe, I am afraid it is only a matter of time before the FDA takes away our right to purchase herbs and vitamins.
So, stock up on them while you can. I guess I will store mine away with all of my extra light bulbs!

Delle 05.13.11 at 5:00 pm
Hi Freddiebrown #70
Delle 05.13.11 at 7:47 pm

Headclunker 05.16.11 at 7:12 pm
The price of cell phones is even higher than that. For all the denial, the incidence of brain cancer has gone up since their widespread use in the mid 1980′s. Big $$’s are involved and appear to be influencing the organization and presentation of any studies that show increased incidents. Reading between the lines, it looks like the biggest increase is in frontal lobe cancers.
I use my cell phone for brief conversations only. And, I put one of these on it: http://www.energpolarit.com/category.aspx?cid=216

Goofsmom,
So happy that you are at least out there.
Sigh.

Well here ya go Freddie..3 more pats on the back for wonderful you!
freddiebrown 05.17.11 at 3:29 pm

HPBoston,
I can’t help but smile, I’m happy to have a job!
Great job!
HP Boston 05.17.11 at 5:49 pm

Be very careful, liability is always a possibility when you choose to council some one about suicide.
freddiebrown 05.17.11 at 9:29 pm

What makes you come up with a conspiracy? Men rape. Men are responsible for their actions and their weinies.
It’s possible that the woman is HIV positive, altho, it could be her husband, child, whoever she lives with in the apartments reserved for HIV+ and people with AIDS.

DancesWithPumas 05.18.11 at 7:39 pm
I just think leaping to ‘the gas chamber” is a huge leap and minimizes the reality of hitler’s germany and the 11 million he rounded up and murdered.

Great article I wanted to share.
So what gives?

I’m feeling calmer now. Hubby is home from work. As soon as he came in the door, he could tell there was something wrong. When he asked, I burst into tears again.
I really don’t mean to carry on so. Being attacked by a bird is trivial compared to living through one of the tornadoes that is rampaging through the country now. I realize that.
But it was such a frightening experience. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
Well, then again…..

Thanks.

The New Agenda needs some support:
Onward,
Amy Siskind
President

Well, I got the news today that I passed my professional engineers exam. It is just something I have been meaning to do for the last 25 years.
The percentage of women in engineering reached a maximum of around 20% and is on the decline. Today I came up with a good name for the mental disorder apparent in some of the men I work with. Alphafemalephobic.
That is: totally terrified of alpha females that expect them to just do the right thing.
stoney42 05.26.11 at 7:25 pm
Congratulations, Headclunker, on passing your exam.

Zee 05.27.11 at 12:51 am
Sheila and Candice, so glad to hear you’re ok…has anyone heard from nikkismom?
Delle, I’m glad you reported the incident. Please let us know if they come up with an official explanation!

Zee 05.27.11 at 1:11 am

Yesterday, Schultz made an on-air apology and took a self-imposed one-week suspension without pay”.

Thanks for all the good wishes. I am going to start a solar energy business (although I am not quitting my day job). Solar energy technology is so not there. Alot of very interesting stuff, but no focus.
Here is one of my favorites:

All rapes in Norway in the past 5 years committed by muslims. But, they aren’t allowed to call muslims muslims any longer. They are now called ‘non western immigrants’:
http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2011/05/norway-all-rapes-in-past-5-years-committed-by-muslimsnon-western-immigrants.html
A 12 year old girl was told by her muslim rapist that he had a right to do with her what he wanted.
I could cry for Europe. One country after another is allowing this invasion.
And the women suffer.

After the arrest for rape of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, NY Mag found this photo in its time capsule of his first meeting with the Obamas:
http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/05/from_the_time_capsule_dominiqu.html?mid=twitter_DailyIntel
Look how he is leaning towards Michelle. See that look on his face! Notice Obama’s hand. That’s not a gesture of greeting, but rather Obama is holding him back.
What a creepy man!
I have a feeling that his reputation was well known long before the incident in NY.

Zee,
Almost forgot… I just need help with a big dumpster and a shovel.
I don’t have a lot of treasures to agonize over, just paperwork.. ACK!
Or did you mean real weeding?
Zee 05.30.11 at 1:12 am

Headclunker…I agree…solar energy, and other similar new lines are not being rolled out as they should be.

It was a beautiful Memorial Day here in CA and I remembered to say prayers for all those who have served our country and protected our freedoms.

Third anniversary of the May 31st Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting. The end of democracy within the Democratic Party. I was in DC that day and it has changed my life. To all my fellow PUMAs, I hope our Country is able to heal from the fraud and deceit that is Obama.
