Go Big or Go Home, Hillary

The Big Pink is right. All of this whispering about Hillary replacing Joe Biden as VP on the 2012 ticket is hogwash. A longish clip from Admin herself where she explains WHY she won’t vote for obama even if the corrupt DONC tries to sweeten the deal by holding us hostage with Hillary:

“. . . as we have repeatedly written it is Obama and Obamaism that must be defeated, and defeated without mercy and without doubt.

“The person singularly responsible for these catastrophes and the policy singularly responsible is Obama and Obamaism.”

It is not only Barack Obama who must be defeated. Obama’s politics of division “situation comedy coalition” must be defeated and the Democratic Party resurrected and restored.

Now some Democrats are so disgusted, some newly minted Independents are so disgusted, many Republicans are so disgusted that their response is to say that they just want the Obama Dimocratic Party to die and that every Dimocratic elected official should be politically killed, – they never want to have anything to do with, ever again, with or for the Democratic or Dimocratic Party or anything it stands for, has ever stood for, or will ever stand for. We understand that level of disgust.

However, America needs the old Democratic Party. Republicans need the Democratic Party as it used to be before Barack Obama and his thugs so thoroughly trashed it, killed it, and replaced it with that monstrosity we dub the Obama Dimocratic Party.”

Admin quotes so many of the DC insider pundits who are salivating over the idea of Biden and Hillary switching jobs for 2012 that simply reading their desperate pablum exposes just how skeered the Hopium dealers in the MSM are of an obama loss in 2012. What are they so afraid of? Sarah Palin?

Don’t do it, Hillary. Let obama fall on his own damn face. He and his minions, with the Obots cheering wildly from the sidelines, knifed you in the back. Don’t help them turn the knife now. Leave with your dignity intact and, as Quinn repeats repeatedly, you will not only be both young and rested enough to run on your own in 2016, you will also be four long years distant from the toxic taint of the Obamaism Disaster.

Let them twist in the wind. That’s exactly what they did to you. And one good turn deserves another.

Good evening Murphy & dear Pumas,

Right on………Murphy!!! We want and need Hillary
as POTUS 2012 or 2016 but it MUST happen, please.

Hope Nov. 2010 will bring us a BIG surprise when
they all fall on their fannies and lose.

Sweet dreams to all. Night, night!

A Bill proposed by the despots in Congress would give the despot in the White House sweeping powers to police or shut down the web for reasons of National Security, or more likely, if he just doesn’t want anybody to see what’s really going on. Perhaps he can amend his paranoid bill and include shutting down all TV channels except for MSNBC. No sense of letting that pesky Constitution get in the way of Chavez’s Barack’s fragile ego.

Invalid, if you are lurking: I tried to respond to you the other night but you were logging out as I was sending my response. (I was on a slow, loaner computer, having technical garble on the chat board- along with a series of phone calls during the show. I wasn’t keeping up very well with the chat – or the program – that night)

Goodnight Pumas.

I’m around now and then Caspie, miss and love you too.
Love that Hillary is up thread again and that Murphy is on fire and leading the band. Never fear, I am usually just around the corner and keeping my eyes on my friends here at the PAC. Hope all is well with you too. Still waiting for Hillary and totally in a rage about the Fraud and the Gulf. I think Barry knows the smoke and mirrors are no longer keeping his kool-aid fans in check and they can’t deny what a great leader is working in the State Department.
Go Hillary, go!

I still have my PUMA – Hillary for 2012 on my car in obot land, and people don’t know how to handle it. Never a bad comment, so far.

Does that mean, run in 2012 for President Hillary, or don’t run with Obama with under any title…

I agree.

When a sitting President has to rely on the power of a VP candidate in order to win a second term… that’s the first clue that he’s a complete and utter mega fail. Then again, we have too many clues that this is the case with the inexperienced egoic Odillweed.

Hillary R Clinton, Eleanor Roosevelt, my Nonna, Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Bette Midler, on OsoIncompetent’s ticket wouldn’t make me vote for that sacka…

Sorry getting a bit religious there…but it is an impossible thought.

From page 2 of this article from the science website , Helium .

“With the emerging evidence of fissures, the quiet fear now is the methane bubble rupturing the seabed and exploding into the Gulf waters. If the bubble escapes, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the region of the bubble will instantaneously sink. All the workers, engineers, Coast Guard personnel and marine biologists measuring the oil plumes’ advance will instantly perish. ”

New EPA Regulations Have Dairy Farmers Crying Over Spilled Milk
Posted: 6/10/2010
New EPA regulations have some Northern Michigan dairy farmers crying over spilled milk.

The Environmental Protection Agency intends to classify milk as a hazardous waste; in the same category as oil.

That means, farmers would have to come up with an oil spill prevention plan which could cost them thousands of dollars.

The Senate Agricultural Committee passed a resolution today urging the EPA to take back those regulations.

I read Delle’s link, Zee.

What struck me about Delle’s and Texas Tigress links is the scope of what has become of us – the width and depth of utter disregard for life, itself in our quest “to live” – from the beginning of life (from pelican eggs, hatch-lings, adults birds and the environment that sustains them – to the families, children and the environment that sustains them)

…it’s interesting that we all seem to be questioning “what the fuck have we done in the name of maximizing the potential of civilization?”

I suddenly feel like one in an entire civilization of “creature comfort” sociopaths.”

do.http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

These results are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. Today is the first update based entirely upon interviews conducted after the president’s Tuesday night speech.
On the morning of the president’s speech, his Approval Index rating was -17 meaning that the initial response to the speech has cost him a net three points in the Approval Index. The number who Strongly Approve has increased one point since the speech while the number who Strongly Disapprove is up four.

Where do you get this “we stuff?
When something is positive it’s “men”, when it’s a complete and utter catastrophe it’s inclusive of women.

Take sexual intercourse as an example, generally speaking, men go for immediate gratification, while women are thinking about long term consequences. This seems to play out in most aspects of life.
Aside from the fact that males are socialized to base their level of success on money and power. Not a winning combination from my point if view.

HP Boston: # 57 “Ahh I do feel guilty about some of my relitives…”

lol:

Here’s some of what I did with my “guilt”:

For more than 10 years…

- I do not buy “new” apparel – I buy from a thrift store that supports a woman’s shelter and provides direct assistance to families and individuals only and/or trade clothes with friends who always wanted a twin just like me

- I have a used computer, bought from a small, family-owned computer recycling company that buys “obsolete”, corporate equipment – built to upgrade for years, until the latest comes out on the market –

- I no longer identify with being an extension of electronic gadgets – I use a basic model, mobile phone – to make phone calls only – I see no added value in taking pictures of me talking on the phone

- I’ve had cable for three, too many, months – which turned me into an entertained moron and product whore in less than a week

- There’s more, like, “I can’t stand Walmart, because it smells and feels like I’m in industrialized China”

… but I won’t bore you with all of the details of all of my “eccentricities”… because, detoxification is hell and I haven’t known who I am for years

60

Swannie 06.19.10 at 2:10 pm

I refuse to have a lawn or a lawnmower, I have trees …but , I am far from living the lifestyle I want, I want a nice backyard composter and hopefully will get one this summer, and not from walmart.

61

HP Boston 06.19.10 at 2:18 pm

Yup me too…no “smart” phone…can barely use the track phone I have.

No cable TV, too many ststions with total crap. Why PAY for that! ..only internet service.

Hate Walmart, it does stink…gives me a headache!

Sorry can not wear “otherpeoples” clothes…to short, to wide, to fussy.

Oh shit I admit I color my hair, my bad.

AND I have a new (08) Honda my Scout bought me….only the 2nd new car in my whole life. Long, long, life!

62

Swannie 06.19.10 at 2:10 pm :

You know, Swannie, once one makes up their mind to unhook from the propaganda of “progress” – it’s surprising what little it takes and how many options there are.

A couple I know, with a double-sized lot, agreed to designate one-third of their back yard for a co-op garden. I found a large tree trimming company that recycles all of its bark mulch and gives it away for free – which is perfect for mixing into a compost and tilling into the garden.

Bartering services and co-oping foods, dining, tools, vehicles, etc., is also an interesting way to share assets and find solutions to life “life-ing”.

64

Delle 06.19.10 at 3:03 pm

By now I have to believe that this is deliberate. I can reach no other logical conclusion:

http://blog.al.com/live/2010/06/many_foreign_offers_to_help_wi.html

Obama is not incompetent – he is evil to allow this to happen.

Truly Evil!

65

Zee 06.19.10 at 3:12 pm

Ooo, HP, me too! A decadent women’s only party— cocktails, snacks and (wbd will be happy to hear) a clothing exchange! I’m taking darling clothes I was saving for the day I lost weight (snort!) and I’m sure I won’t fit in any of the clothes anyone else is bringing…so I will console myself with snacks.

But not the pulled pork sliders I was planning to bring….the brat dog STOLE the pork. A first for him, and he was so proud. Well, since he’s had his choice dinner I won’t feel guilty leaving him tonight!!!

66

Zee 06.19.10 at 3:13 pm

Delle…that is par for the course. Standard US procedure. Bush refused help from the Dutch, too, after Katrina, even tho the Dutch also have to deal with being below sea level.

67

Zee 06.19.10 at 3:14 pm

Standard US cowboy mentality, I should’ve said!

68

Zee 06.19.10 at 3:21 pm

wbd…I hate grass, too….and especially despise LEAF BLOWERS, which every man in the universe seems to love and considers himself well occupied if he’s polluting the air with noise and exhaust FOREVER, getting every last cut grass blade off the sidewalk.

However, I would gladly barter shopping, cooking or cleaning to any man (or woman) who would rake (not blow!!!), weed, shovel snow (not blow it!!) and lay out mulch for me. If I knew how to find these barter communities. I hate gardening with a passion. Except for occasionally pruning trees or cutting flowers for the vase.

69

wontbackdown 06.19.10 at 3:27 pm

HP – after 35 years of blond highlights – my hair has been color FREE for two years and the gray looks better than the highlights, I think!

I love it, actually!

I also DO love recycled jeans – the older I get, the more that worn-well look turns me on! Also, we have a store here called “Clotheshorse Anonymous” – from Bob Mackie to Donna Karan at thrift-store prices! It’s like, someone using the retail value of the merchandise first and leaving the spoils for the “small people” – like me and my “relitives” – lol!

I don’t think you are correct about Bush. I heard on several news reports that Bush waived The Jones Act the very day after Hurricane Katrina hit.

Maybe he wasn’t cooperative in other ways, but as far as international help being let in, he didn’t try to stop them.
He welcomed their help.

Zee 06.19.10 at 3:21 pm:

Yep, the blowers are noisy – time is money in the lawn-care business and I guess it is easier to some than raking.

Funny that you say that about “raking.” Personally, I find raking therapeutic; putting the trimmings in those big, petroleum-based, plastic bags is what I hate. Plastic, plastic, plastic everywhere overwhelms me at times.

“However, I would gladly barter…”

Ask around, Zee. You may be surprised how many people are willing or are already doing it, in some capacity.

Pooh… guess I need to let a few of those go myself, Zee. I’ve lost some weight – just not down to that “darling clothes” size – that size I’m certain I’ll never see again… wahhhhhh!

I have some good news. Pensacola Beach was beautiful today! I did see a few hazmat guys with garbage bags mostly empty – there was no oil on the beach. A family from LA was visiting and we talked a bit. They verified all the crap we are hearing – that you can’t talk to the workers and it smells like oil from time to time even in NO. They are staying for a long weekend and said this morning they saw a group of dolphins jumping and swimming by. While I was on the beach, I saw a girl screaming. I kept looking for a fin even though it was not the right time of day for sharks. I found out from the LA couple that the girl was screaming because a school of about 30 manta rays were going by. So cool.

The water was a beautiful green-blue and absolutely clear. A funny spot near the sandbar could have been oil but likely was a bunch of seaweed coming in since the people swimming near it appeared not to be bothered. I looked at the spot a long time, wondering if it was oil.

Who knows.

I checked Blackwater Bay and Escambia Bay and saw nothing.

so, it was a beautiful day on the Gulf Coast of Florida, and it seemed to be a miracle we could not see or smell oil.

Murphy, you already know my thoughts on Going Big for HRC from facebook. HRC should definitely not be on the ticket as O’s VP. What a joke!

Oystermen suing BP over use of Corexit

http://www.allgov.com/Top_Stories/ViewNews/Louisiana_Oystermen_Sue_over_Use_of_Toxic_Dispersant_in_Gulf_100618

‘The oystermen say the dumping of more than one million gallons of dispersant into the ocean will permanently alter the seabed and food chain in the gulf. They add that the chemical was utilized “in an attempt to lessen the financial burden of BP and to lessen the public reaction to the oil spill by forcing the oil to the bottom of the Gulf and thereby obviating the need for shoreline cleanup.”

From wikipedia:
Nossis was an ancient Greek woman epigrammist and poet, c. 300 BCE, who lived in Locri. Her epigrams were inspired by Sappho.

and
Nossis of Locri

Earthly Muse

Nossis of Locri, in Southern Italy, lived around 300 B.C. Twelve of her epigrams survive.

She indicates, in her epigrams, that she followed Sappho and wrote love poetry. Meleager substantiates this claim when he refers to her as a “sweet-scented iris of Nossis that he wove into his ‘garland.’”

Her epigrams show aspects of a womanly world. One poem is a dedication of a cloak at the temple of Hera to the north of her homeland of Locri, in which Nossis mentions her mother and grandmother. Another poem is a dedication from an hetaera to Aphrodite. Three other epigrams describe portraits of women. Another poem is about Artemis assisting in childbirth.

Two other poems deal with men. One is an epitaph for a writer of phylax, a type of burlesque drama. The other honors dead Locrian fighters.

sorry if this is a repeat, I’m a little behind in my blog reading.

there is now proof that the “leak” in the gulf is worse than anyone thought.. One of the Rov’s that is monitoring underwater has found that oil is now leaking from the floor of the gulf a good 70 feet away from the well head.
Link takes you to the video evidence
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2RxIQP0IBU

What this could mean is any one of several speculations, including but not limited to, the rocks could shatter from the vibration of drilling the relief well, that could cause a sink hole releasing massive amounts of oil and gas all at once. These leaks could also mean that the relief wells will not be able to stop the “leak”.

It is entirely possible that this CAN NOT be stopped. Boggles the mind.

I heard the same thing. The rat f’ers were apparently drilling a deep well where there was more methane than they had experience dealing with. And now, even drilling the relief wells is risky.

However, it may not be true that the well can not be shut in. This guy says he can do it: http://nmwebtech.com/stop-gom-oil-leak.html You can call him after 9 pm New Mexico time when his cell phone minutes are free and he will talk to you.

According to him, the first thing that BP tried, dropping the dome on the well, is the way to go. BP just did not do it right. He also believes that the drilling of the relief wells is very foolish. He has diagrams of his idea on his web site.

The situation is very bad.

The problem is that if they have fractured the sea floor (which the film indicates) it will no be able the hold together if ANY pressure is added … even his option will add pressure. I saw his plan several months ago, and IF we had evidence that the gulf floor could handle the pressure it MIGHT have worked…. but unfortunately, that is not what the evidence shows .. any added pressure could blow it all wide open.

The gulf floor is under pressure. There is a mile of water on top of it. The gas and oil will take the path of least resistance. That would be through the dome and up the line open to atmosphere.

109

invalidresponse 06.19.10 at 10:51 pm

Headclunker #108

yes, I understand that, problem is that it is leaking out under all that water pressure as we speak, and that is with well head exerting almost no pressure to restrict the flow of oil… in order for this guys plan to work… or any other plan to work for that matter, a new blow out preventer must be put in place, blow out preventors restrict the flow of gas and oil… increasing the pressure to the floor of the gulf..

yes, my point exactly path of least resistance will not be through the pipe.. it might very well be through the cracks..

sandy lf, holy smokes! great to see you!

dances, incredible – i will call my mother in law tomorrow for more info, shes always liked me even tho she hasnt spoken with her sons in 15 years or more.

I am beside myself with guilt worrying that I did the wrong thing. Nik is completely supporting me but he thinks I might have overstepped but I was worried about the 3 little girls in the situation. long story short — i called the police and told them I thought the children might be in danger. I think they would be safe with the father or the father’s family but then I worry that I am operating on a false consciousness patriarchical basis and imposing that on the mother and her children. she knows I dont agree/approve of her unorthodox parenting style and has cut me off from communication…

feeling seriously conflicted here.

113

wontbackdown 06.20.10 at 12:01 am

Murphy,

What if the little girls are already in such a negative, life-altering situation, because the mother is in a “psychological parenting crisis” herself?

Young children will rarely, if ever, outwardly indicate their need to escape a harmful parent(s), and will cling to them no matter what, even in extreme cases of abuse. Likewise, a harmful parent(s) generally are the last to recognize or admit their need to separate from their children – especially if their “attachment” to their children involves some underlying emotional and/or psychological disorder or inordinately inappropriate parenting behaviors.

Murphy, if you could see it from the highest perspective possible – and you were her and they were your children – what would you want for your children? What adjustments would you need to make for your children’ and your highest good? What would have to happen, in order for you and your children to have the best opportunity to achieve your highest good?

Whatever the situation, it sounds to me, from your concerns, that both the children and mother need some urgent help.

114

kat in your hat 06.20.10 at 12:16 am

Unless the mother is a hard-core addict or abuser (including severe neglect), I completely disagree with calling the authorities. Men with badges, ripping children away from their mother is the most horrific and traumatic situation imaginable. That sort of pain & rage would last a lifetime. Mother may need help, like therapy & support.

BP Math

200 feet divided by a hundred feet equals 50 days.

Very interesting : http://bp.concerts.com/gom/audio/kent_wells_tech_update_18062010.htm

Does this sound to you like they are planning to kill the well?

The press actually asked about the relief well being 200 feet from the main one and they did not get an answer that made sense.

They are planning on a capacity of 80,000 barrels per day. That is 3.36 million gallons per day. BP is claiming that it is for the purpose of redundancy, but I wonder if that is just a better estimate of what is going on. And that says nothing about the natural gas.

You are DREAMING, Delle….Bush was off in California playing guitar, and
there was NO instant acceptance of foreign help—let alone national help! And then guns were trained against citizens. People weren’t even allowed to walk out of the city. There will be no rewriting of Bush history here.

…a few highlights…Bush the cowboy saying we didn’t need help:

Several foreign leaders have expressed frustration that they couldn’t get a go-ahead from the Bush administration to administer help. ********President Bush said on the ABC News program Good Morning America that the United States could fend for itself************

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/04/international/americas/04offers.html?_r=1&adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1125911318-ASJf32Sb1LTRvrXi2oACTg

Also from that NYTimes article, Condoleezza Rice (off buying boots while New Orleans drowned) “said that at least 59 countries and international organizations have offered aid to the United States. But what will actually get delivered…will have to wait until needs are identified by FEMA”

===

And even the help the US said it would accept was delayed and in the end, went unused:

An article in the April 29, 2007 Washington Post claimed that of the $854 million offered by foreign countries, whom the article dubs “allies,” … only $40 million of the funds had been spent “for disaster victims or reconstruction” as of the date of publication (less than 5%).

Additionally, a large portion of the $854 million in aid offered went uncollected….

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/04/28/AR2007042801113_pf.html

129

Zee 06.20.10 at 8:54 am

Also from that Washington Post article is detailed how the Bush administration used a PR stunt to repeat lies so that people would think we used the help offered from foreign countries:

snip
=========
As the winds and water of Hurricane Katrina were receding, presidential confidante Karen Hughes sent a cable from her State Department office to U.S. ambassadors worldwide.

Titled “Echo-Chamber Message” — a public relations term for talking points designed to be repeated again and again — the Sept. 7, 2005, directive was unmistakable: Assure the scores of countries that had pledged or donated aid at the height of the disaster that their largesse had provided Americans “practical help and moral support” and “highlight the concrete benefits hurricane victims are receiving.”

Many of the U.S. diplomats who received the message, however, were beginning to witness a more embarrassing reality. *************They knew the U.S. government was turning down many allies’ offers of manpower, supplies and expertise worth untold millions of dollars. **************

Eventually the United States also would fail to collect most of the unprecedented outpouring of international cash assistance for Katrina’s victims.

I left this comment at Huffy, awaiting “approval”

Joe Biden is not the problem here. Obama is incompetent and corrupt. And if you do not understand that he has been busy giving away all Americans financial resources to the banksters and giving our healthcare away to the insurance companies instead of taking care of the business of the American People, then you need to go check the big hole in the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico.

Hillary Clinton for President in 2012!
2016 is too late.

144

Zee 06.20.10 at 11:09 am

Headclunker, no doubt! Biden is not the problem…and if he were, why they hell would anyone want him as Sec of State?

The really nauseating thing is that this odious Sally Quinn has had nothing but horrible things to say about Hillary, ever, and now she’s actually saying that Hillary has been a GOOD LITTLE LADY, working hard and not complaining about Obarfo, and so she should USE her popularity to get the despised inexperienced tool re-elected! And then, it will be HER turn in 2016.

And they say Sarah Palin “isn’t a feminist.” Sally Quinn is WORSE than Ann Coulter.

Last month, Clinton provided a hand in snuffing out Republican hopes of picking up a seat in the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania by stumping for Mark Critz, the Democrat who went on to win the race.

“A lot of people still like Bill Clinton, particularly Democrats,” said Quinnipiac University pollster Peter Brown. “They remember the Clinton years as prosperous and relatively peaceful.”

A Democratic Party aide said scores of House and Senate candidates have requested help from Clinton, who left office in 2001 with the U.S. enjoying record budget surpluses that have since become record deficits.”

BP to raise $50 billion for oil spill costs: report

(Reuters) – BP (BP.L) is planning to raise $50 billion to cover the cost of the largest oil spill in U.S. history, London’s Sunday Times reported without citing sources. The paper said BP planned to raise $10 billion from a bond sale, $20 billion from banks and $20 billion from asset sales over the next two years.

BP Evaded Regulation:
House committee scolds Coast Guard for lax inspection of Deepwater Horizon
June 17, 2010|By Kim Geiger and Tom Hamburger, Tribune Washington Bureau
Reporting from Washington — Members of the House transportation committee castigated the Coast Guard on Thursday for being insufficiently aggressive in tracking and inspecting foreign oil drill vessels such as the Deepwater Horizon, which exploded April 20 in the Gulf of Mexico, killing 11 crewmen and causing the worst spill in U.S. history.

Under harsh questioning, Coast Guard Rear Adm. Kevin Cook said the Deepwater Horizon, registered to the tiny Republic of the Marshall Islands, operated under a different command structure than would have been permitted for a similar vessel operating under the U.S. flag.

Japan Has ‘Priority’ On Rights To Mine Afghanistan Mineral Deposits, Says Hamid Karzai

First Posted: 06-20-10 01:34 AM | Updated: 06-20-10 03:32 AM

Excerpt:

During an appearance at Japan Institute for International Affairs, Karzai focused on his country’s mineral deposits. He Pointed to Japan’s status as Afghanistan’s second-biggest donor, and reasoned that Japan should enjoy special access to Afghan resources with estimated values that range from $1-3 trillion dollars.

“Morally, Afghanistan should give access as a priority to those countries that have helped Afghanistan massively in the past few years,” Karzai told the institute.

“What . . . we have to reciprocate with is this opportunity of mineral resources, that we must return at the goodwill of the Japanese people by giving Japan priority to come and explore and extract,” Karzai said.”

Barbara Hollingsworth: Fannie Mae owns patent on residential ‘cap and trade’ exchange
By: Barbara Hollingsworth
Local Opinion Editor
April 20, 2010

When he wasn’t busy helping create a $127 billion mess for taxpayers to clean up, former Fannie Mae Chief Executive Officer Franklin Raines, two of his top underlings and select individuals in the “green” movement were inventing a patented system to trade residential carbon credits.

………………..

The patent, which covers both the “cap” and “trade” parts of Obama’s top domestic energy initiation, gives Fannie Mae proprietary control over an automated trading system that pools and sells credits for hard-to-quantify residential carbon reduction efforts (such as solar panels and high-efficiency appliances) to companies and utilities that don’t meet emission reduction targets. Depending on where the Environmental Protection Agency sets arbitrary CO2 standards, that could be every company in America.
………………..
So Fannie Mae, a quasi-governmental entity whose congressionally mandated mission is to make housing more affordable, has been a behind-the-scenes participant in a carbon trading scheme that would do just the opposite.

In January, Europol announced that up to 90 percent of the volume in the European Union’s own carbon-trading market was fraudulent, costing EU members $5 billion during the previous 18 months. That would be just the tip of the iceberg if the Congress were to make a similar mistake.

But if it does, thanks to Raines and his fellow “inventors,” Fannie Mae will be laughing all the way to the (bailed-out) bank.

Good catch, Headclunker…

from that link:

BP is running around apologizing to everyone they can find…. I’ve been dealing with oil companies for a long time and it just doesn’t add up…

Contrast it, for instance, with the Exxon situation in Alaska or the Union Carbide disaster in India. Exxon fought tooth and nail for its shareholders; it appealed court rulings for 19 years. Union Carbide wasn’t settled for 25 years.

BP is rolling over like a simpering dog. Why?

The only reason I can think of is that the company knows — better if not as well as the Obama administration does — that it will get worse.
Much worse…All I know is that this spill isn’t even half over. Oil in the Gulf will lead the news-cycle for the foreseeable future.

Here’s what gets me: The snippets about this “Monster Well” have been coming out for weeks – just like Senator Nelson already had been getting reports for over a week that there were “cracks” in the ocean floor at deeper levels and elsewhere off the main BOP.

Sites like “Monkeyfister” have been monitoring the underwater videos and comparing the changes in the flow with BP’s efforts and calling what was happening accurately for several weeks now!

The control of information on what was actually happening and everything they already knew – even before the dammed Monster even blew – has been deliberate and, in reality, going on for months!

If you want to know what will eventually be confirmed – pay attention to the snippets regarding “worst fears”. It’s how how they “leak” the truth over several days and/or weeks and controlling public reaction.

Use of media communications in “Public relations” is not just an art form – it’s a science. Many have no clue that often-times when corporations (and government) are trying to buy time or control public reaction, they will even leak to lesser “trusted” sources or to smaller distribution/readership channels within various demographics.

The cooperation that goes on between industries, governments and medias today – on the basis that the means of controlling information justifies the end of controlling the public and diminishing, at best, its direct interest, thus ability to respond in its own best interest, is sickening.

173

Zee 06.20.10 at 3:51 pm

More regarding Bill Clinton….I do believe he lives like a believer, too….he knows far too many Dems will stab him (and Hillary, and Dem beliefs) in the back, but there are some issues where you know from the get-go the Republicans will send back to the stone ages. (Hopefully that will change…for instance, in Illinois, a Republican has switched to an independent and is running, and many more women are running as Republicans.)

Unless you just want to hand our women in the military coat-hangers, you will care enough to REBUILD the Dem party:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/11/us/politics/11abort.html?ref=politics

The fight to allow gay and bisexual people to serve openly in the military is already drawing political blood in Washington, but tucked into the same 852-page Pentagon policy bill as the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” is a little-noticed amendment that takes on another emotionally charged issue: making abortion easier for military women in war zones…

Current law bans abortions in most cases at military facilities, even if women pay themselves, meaning they must go outside to private hospitals and clinics — an impossibility for many of the estimated 100,000 American servicewomen in foreign countries, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The result, the advocates say, is that military women serving overseas do not have the same access to basic health care that other American women do…

The amendment, sponsored by Senator Roland W. Burris, Democrat of Illinois, passed 15 to 12, and advocates say they are cautiously optimistic about its chances in the full Senate this summer…

…an unwanted pregnancy in a war zone is a professional as well as a personal crisis for a woman. With no access to safe abortions outside the base, regulations require that a woman be flown home within two weeks of the time she finds out she’s pregnant, a particular stigma for unmarried women that ends any future career advancement.

“The military doesn’t forgive you,” said one unmarried former Marine who tried to self-abort when she got pregnant in Iraq in 2006. “You’re never going to get promoted again.” The Marine, who asked that her name not be used, said she ended up in a military hospital in Iraq with severe bleeding…

Shortly after President Bill Clinton took office in 1993, he signed a memorandum allowing abortions at military facilities if they were paid for with private money. But by 1996 the Republican-controlled Congress had instituted the current blanket ban on abortions at military facilities…

174

Zee 06.20.10 at 3:55 pm

Amen, wbd!

THIS is what should unite us all. First we have to spotlight and demystify exactly what you pointed out:

Use of media communications in “Public relations” is not just an art form – it’s a science. Many have no clue that often-times when corporations (and government) are trying to buy time or control public reaction, they will even leak to lesser “trusted” sources or to smaller distribution/readership channels within various demographics.

The cooperation that goes on between industries, governments and medias today – on the basis that the means of controlling information justifies the end of controlling the public and diminishing, at best, its direct interest, thus ability to respond in its own best interest, is sickening.

175

Zee 06.20.10 at 3:58 pm

They repeat, repeat, repeat lies until they become “common knowledge.”

The truth they leak out maybe once or twice, completely MISSED by a population struggling to survive, and then later, when it’s time to deal with the consequences, they can claim to have already covered that and say, “old news.”

176

I once had a news anchor from Boston run back to me (after the 2004 election) once the cameras moved on and ask me, was I accusing him of being part of a conspiracy.

I explained to him he was part of an echo chamber.

It bothers me in every industry…how coworkers get all defensive and band together “against” the pesky uninformed client or customer.

What happened to “the customer is always right?” Looking out for the little guy? Providing a service.

I don’t care what I’m contracted to do…if I agreed to do it, I do it. If I’m hawking some product or service, I spend my time imparting the benefits to the customer. Hell, to me, is languishing around with coworkers bitching about the work or the customers or my private life. When I worked in a frame shop, at a bare minimum wage, I did so because I loved it. If a bride tried to apologize to me for being so picky about framing her wedding picture, I explained to her that there were 57 shades of white matting for a reason!

Journalism is a calling, and they ought to be on their knees for the privilege of questioning authority…not on their knees TO the authorities.

GO Dr. Sonnet Ehlers !!!!!!!!! My birthday is now complete! ;)

South African doctor invents female condoms with ‘teeth’ to fight rape
(CNN) — South African Dr. Sonnet Ehlers was on call one night four decades ago when a devastated rape victim walked in. Her eyes were lifeless; she was like a breathing corpse.

“She looked at me and said, ‘If only had teeth down there,’” recalled Ehlers, who was a 20-year-old medical researcher at the time. “I promised her I’d do something to help people like her one day.”

Forty years later, Rape-aXe was born.
Ehlers is distributing the female condoms in the various South African cities where the World Cup soccer games are taking place.

The woman inserts the latex condom like a tampon. Jagged rows of teeth-like hooks line its inside and attach on a man’s penis during penetration, Ehlers said.

Once it lodges, only a doctor can remove it — a procedure Ehlers hopes will be done with authorities on standby to make an arrest.

“It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it’s on,” she said. “If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter… however, it doesn’t break the skin, and there’s no danger of fluid exposure.”

http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/africa/06/20/south.africa.female.condom/index.html?hpt=C2

Note: There was something like this in the early 70s, except the ‘condom’ used razor blades. Not sure if it was fantasy or and actual case, but the bottom line was they were illegal because it was consided carrying a concealed weapon.

Get ready for a rant!

Was just watching live feed from BP underwater camera:

Ocean Intervention III – ROV II…

They were testing a robotic arm on a piece of equipment when all of the sudden, some little punk-ass, male infantile comes up to the camera, with his glove on and shoots the bird, directly into the camera lens – twice!

Then he backs away and comes back and starts cleaning the camera lens.

So, let me tell you, British Petroleum, and your punk ass little punk, what I’ve been wanting to say for weeks – “Fuck You, you sorry slime of a murderous empire! And Tony, you can tell that little punk son of a finger brain – if that thing blows again, I hope you and your twin finger brained, dumb-ass clone are the two that are on it!

I hope there were hundreds of thousands watching that screen and someone got a capture of it! It’s the perfect symbol of British Petroleum’s whole attitude toward destroying our gulf – American jobs, thousands of communities, an entire eco-system that will never recover and causing the suffering death of millions of animals!

You rancid, ignorant, arrogant, global fuck-ups! FUCK YOU British Petroleum! And especially that punk – that stupid, ignorant, piece of male garbage that represents everything disgusting, and unworthy of existence, about British Petroleum – to a t!

When management comes in to ask the crew what idiot shot a deeply hurting America the finger – raise that same finger, Punk! Then, when they fire you – stick it up your ass!

Too many people think things are better now, despite all evidence to the contrary, because Bush is gone and this wildly intelligent, grand-speaking new president is in office. We are not necessarily asleep, but we are on the nod, watching the world burn around us without lifting a finger because, well, things are better now. Right?

If you are following the catastrophe in the gulf, you probably know that it would have been averted if the “blind shear ram” on the rig had worked. It did not. And here is the “no surprise” –the Minerals Management Service (MMS) “neglected to enforce a rule that required oil companies to submit proof that their blind shear rams would in fact work.” NYT

And here is another surprise – Congress, which provides oversight to MMS, neglected to make sure MMS did it’s job.

HP BOSTON
In late 2007 Palin succeeded in raising the tax on oil companies from 22.5 to 25% of net profits. Alaska also added a clause increasing the tax for each dollar oil goes above $52 a barrel – essentially, a windfall profits tax.

Palin also killed a deal struck between Exxon Mobil, BP, and ConocoPhillips and Alaska’s previous governor to build a natural gas pipeline across the state and into Canada.
Analysts said corruption tainted that deal.

Palin renegotiated a new deal with a Canadian company, TransCanada, to build the $26 billion pipeline, which analysts say – if completed – is better financially for the state.
Palin also instituted the ARA Aaskan Risk Assessment http://www.dec.state.ak.us/spar/ipp/ara/

The goal of the ARA is to reduce the number and severity of future spills and provide recommendations on mitigation measures to reduce future spills.

Also since we now know that BP can manipulate GOOGLE , rest assured other manipulation is happening . I just googled PALIN Oil regulation and what came up for two pages was Palin oil lies , articles written by Democrats and supporters of this admin , just giving you a heads up ..An article i found that explained what Palin had done to regulate oil industries DISAPPEARED the second time I googled ..

I do not trust a single word that comes from them, and the white house OWNS Chuck TODD and other media the way the MMS was in bed with the Oil industry.

What article? Where was it published? The search engine optimization is messed with in every industry…they are all jostling for the top spaces. Not to mention, sometimes newspapers, websites, etc., don’t maintain archives. I’m horrified at how hard it is to get information these days as opposed to 4 or more years ago. Or even 2 years ago! A very large online journal I used to write for no longer maintains archives….I’m horrified I didn’t save all my work. I used to simply link to it when I needed to show it to someone. An examination by The New York Times highlights the chasm between the oil industry’s assertions about the reliability of its blowout preventers and a more complex reality. It reveals that the federal agency charged with regulating offshore drilling, the Minerals Management Service, repeatedly declined to act on advice from its own experts on how it could minimize the risk of a blind shear ram failure.

It also shows that the Obama administration failed to grapple with either the well-known weaknesses of blowout preventers or the sufficiency of the nation’s drilling regulations even as it made plans this spring to expand offshore oil exploration.

Obama – top recipient of donations from BP
If BP faces heavy federal scrutiny, it’s well-positioned to fight back: The London-based company has consistently spent top dollar to influence legislative and regulatory activity in Washington, D.C., the Center for Responsive Politics finds.

During the 2008 election cycle, individuals and political action committees associated with BP — a Center for Responsive Politics’ “heavy hitter” — contributed half a million dollars to federal candidates. About 40 percent of these donations went to Democrats. The top recipient of BP-related donations during the 2008 cycle was President Barack Obama himself, who collected $71,000.

Happy Brthday, DWP. You didn’t mention how you reconnected with your Aunt and Uncle after so many years. I don’t have any aunts and uncles left, or grandparents and my only remaining brother just passed away. Losing family at a scary rate, but we don’t have long lives like other families do (most smoked but I never have). One sister left, but she drives me nuts. I do have nieces and nephews left and it was good to see them again at the brother’s memorial service.

I turned on MSNBC in frustration a couple days ago and they had a guy named Simmons on who is with an Oceanic organization. He says the only way to stop the oil leak is to set off a nuclear bomb on top of it and melt the area to seal it off. He says the relief wells have zero chance of working. Has anyone else seen this nut and who is he? If there is no chance of stopping the leak, that would explain why Obama refuses to get near it in any real sort of way. If he knows everything will fail, he will want to keep his distance.

A C‑SPAN crew recently traveled to Plaquemines Parish in Belle Chasse, Louisiana to hear from Parish President Billy Nungesser as he briefed New Orleans officials at the Parish Base Operations Center on the latest Gulf Coast cleanup efforts. Listen to him talk about local efforts being blocked by BP and the Coast Guard and he even has some disturbing words to say about the pelican/bird rescue efforts:

Dances – please delete # 200 – I apologize to everyone.

I think the question was answered 5 weeks ago – because many at BP and our energy management agencies knew the facts. They already knew what would take time for the rest of us to comprehend and accept:

This wasn’t ever a matter of putting out the fire and restoring the place. There was a readily-available paper trail and under the documented circumstances, keeping the already damaged well from blowing failed and once it did fail, the damage was going to be irreparable.

We had the Bush-Cheney-Halliburton taking us to war for oil and now we know what a big company, like BP, will even do to get it – persons, countries and oceans are completely dispensable. That’s the price of oil.

It’s US that needs to divorce ourselves from the murderers. If we don’t, in 10 years the gulf region will have more oil rigs than people.

Perhaps a movement to demand that the 20 billion dollars be used as a down-payment toward “rebuilding the Gulf” – and putting those destroyed, Gulf-resident fishing industries and businesses – into a massive, alternative energy, wind farm?

Since they have destroyed the Gulf – instead of allowing oil companies to exploit it as a “Dead Zone” and keep us dependent on oil – why not turn it into a massive monument of alternative energy?

That’s the only real change and real hope for the future of the gulf – and the rest of us – that I can see.

Or this is what we and our planet will continue to face…

They would love to tie some apron strings and send them off to the kitchen. We have to fight these idiots every day, every way, regardless of what our political parties are – even in our own personal circles. I don’t believe in supporting women ONLY if they “belong” to “our” party. Bunch of bullshit, childish clique mentality if women who claim to support Womens rights do that. I save a ton of crap because of this…only I’m so disorganized I then have to search through all my email, etc, to try to find where I saved it! We can no longer rely on the internet to locate article for us….things move too fast. They’re discarded and there’s no follow through.

Dances and HP Boston. Ok. Leave my rant. To Pumas that may be offended by some of my words… please, consider the source… I hurt, I am not “OK” with any of this – as I know none of us are. Believe me, I am far from perfect, and have made many poor choices, sometimes because I had no real sense of “power” in the use of my voice… sometimes, lacking in certain “resources”, which makes this all even more maddening to me..

BP was given a license to do what they do and had every resource available to them – just like our elected officials…

…corporations and our elected governments are supposed to be the experts in developing and managing human-kind’s resources – not profit at the risk of our destruction.

I can take earth’s “natural” disasters as part of human existence and feel my humanity. Even world famines, I can do a “little” something to help alleviate human suffering.

But, these completely avoidable, man-made “disasters” are the results of one big government-corporate chess game – with humanity enslaved as the pawns and successfully “legislating” humanity to foot the bill for their games is the “checkmate.”

Look at history, when any government exploits its power over, rather than fulfilling its obligation to, humanity – humanity starts merely existing, simply to survive it.

America has gone to the aid of many in such a state; who will come to our aid now? Can we, still? Or, have we allowed “our” government to go too far in remaking itself into a dictatorship – by using our votes as “Checkmate”?

I hurt and I, too, am scared. The Gulf Region, to me, is a part of us all.

In my younger days, I used to drink, smoke, swear and chase men on a regular basis. Then I had to quit drinking because I am too crazy, even sober. They I had to quit chasing men because I got married. Then I had to quit smoking because I got pregnant. Then I had to quit swearing because I had kids. I try to live right, work hard and enjoy my life.

But as of late I have had an overwhelming urge to use obscenities when talking about BP. I saw a video clip of the board members walking out of some kind of hearing, lead by Tony Hayward and ever since, I have had an overwhelming urge to call them all BP Rat Fuckers. So, as to not offend readers here, I plan to refer to them as BPRF. Just so you know what I mean.

I have experience working with processes operating at up to 40,000 psi. The units were located behind concrete blast walls and there was no roof because if there was an explosion, you would want it to blow upward. It would be only under very unusual circumstances that anyone would enter while the units were in operation. It was said that a pinhole leak could cut you leg off if you walked by it.

You don’t operate at those pressures like these guys did. They are morons. I mean idiots. The thing is that they believed they had their liability arranged and reparation damages limited so that they could get away with it. I guess that made them extra stupid. They just plain need to go to jail.

100,000 psi is 100,000 pounds per square inch. Like 50 tons sitting on an area of one square inch. That is what they cut loose on us.

The apocalyptic scenarios exist. How probable they are, I could not say exactly but not very likely. However, there is an unusually large idiot factor in this equation.

Why Won’t Obama Waive the Jones Act?
By Robert Bluey

Five years ago, in the midst of another crisis in the Gulf of Mexico, the Bush administration waived the Jones Act, easing the way for foreign vessels to move in U.S. waters and between ports. The decision came with the administration under duress for its handling of Hurricane Katrina.

Today the Obama administration faces a different set of challenges with the Gulf oil spill cleanup.

But unlike his predecessor, President Obama has declined to suspend the law, even temporarily.
Obama’s decision has turned into a public relations headache for an administration already reeling from its oversight of the oil spill. European allies, longtime opponents of the Jones Act, have asserted they were turned away when making offers of assistance. The State Department acknowledges it has had 21 aid offers from 17 countries.

Critics in both parties are now seizing on the issue to question the administration’s competence. It took center stage at a House subcommittee hearing Thursday.

Some critics have suggested that Obama is protecting the pocketbooks of his union allies by keeping foreign vessels at bay. But several Jones Act experts told me that makes little sense because unions have minimal influence in the Gulf. Foreign competition, therefore, would do little to hurt their bottom line.

In addition, the Seafarers International Union, while supporters of the Jones Act, maintained good relations with the Bush administration. In 2000, the union donated $3,544 to candidate George W. Bush and nothing to Democrat Al Gore. Bush benefited with a $2,000 donation in 2004, while Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) received nothing. The union didn’t donate any money to candidate Obama in 2008.

So why won’t the Obama administration simply issue a blanket waiver, just as the Bush administration did in 2005? It would end the controversy and quiet a growing chorus of critics.

The administration defends its stance by citing a well-established waiver process for foreign vessels. In short, a request to U.S. Customs and Border Protection prompts an inquiry to the Maritime Administration, which leads to a search of the U.S. fleet. If an American ship can provide the same services, the request is denied. Otherwise, the foreign vessel gets a waiver.

That process differs from a blanket waiver — the tactic used by then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff in 2005 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Bush administration justified the move by citing a need to transport oil and gasoline in the Gulf region.

Jones Act expert Charlie Papavizas said the 2005 Katrina waiver, which lasted from Sept. 1 to Sept. 19, was used primarily to move cargo between ports, but it didn’t result in any new foreign ships in the region. “Twenty days is not enough time to reposition and do anything useful,” he said.
Mark Ruge, who works with the Maritime Cabotage Task Force, was even blunter: “After the fact, if you look at Katrina and ask, ‘What was the advantage to the United States of America by blanket waiving the Jones Act?’ The answer is nothing came of that — nothing that couldn’t have been accomplished with the usual process. It was just one more thing you could say you did.”

The Obama administration’s critics think otherwise and show no signs of relenting.

Sen. George LeMieux (R-Fla.) pressed the president on the Jones Act during a recent face-to-face meeting. LeMieux said the action would signal America’s allies that their help is wanted. Given the dire situation in the Gulf, what’s the harm?

Two other members from Florida, Reps. Corrine Brown (D) and John Mica (R), said their state is suffering while skimmers sit idle. At a hearing on Thursday, Brown held up photos of vessels in Mexico and Norway, asking, “What is the process for the state to take advantage of skimmers from other countries?”

Mica trained his criticism on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for failing to mobilize the entire American fleet. “U.S.-flag vessels have the capacity to bolster the current oil skimming and removal taking place in the Gulf of Mexico,” he said. “Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen oil products wash up on the shores of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida while vessels, which could have been pressed into service, sit idle. This is unacceptable.”

With the spill cleanup reaching its 63rd day, is it too late for a Jones Act waiver to have an impact? LeMiuex believes there’s still time for foreign vessels to help near the coast, given the uncertainty about how long the cleanup will last. He’s disappointed it has taken the administration so long to act.

This, of course, is the primary criticism of the Obama administration’s handling of the spill. While the president says he “will not settle for inaction,” his failure to waive the Jones Act — even if for the sole purpose of sending a message to our allies — suggests he’s not doing everything he can.

Robert B. Bluey directs the Center for Media and Public Policy at The Heritage Foundation.

Delle #306….omg. And was his next pronouncement, “now, watch this drive!”
I liked the Florida senator’s analogy of “I’m not going to send a firetruck because it might be needed elsewhere.” The number of trucks is determined by the scope of the fire!

I can’t remember where I read it, but someone noted that the Omessiah has speechified, and that is the extent of his “problem-solving.” He makes some grand (barf!) address to the nation, and if THAT doesn’t solve the crisis, he’s out of options.

I think that explains the Obot pushback going on now….the meme I keep seeing is, “what is it people expect from him?” As if he’s done all he can!

313

Zee 06.22.10 at 8:43 am

Headclunker, thanks for all the psi explanations…I wish those criminally reckless would go to jail.

((dragonfly)) — I read a similar comment over at Reclusive Leftist regarding the men who try to get custody of the kids, for the sole purpose of not having to fork over child support payments…and then dump the kids with grandma or girlfriend. (this from someone who worked at a law firm and saw many such cases)

There are a ton of interesting angles over that story…Violet did get one small detail wrong: it was Don Eberly, not Wade Horn, who founded that NFI group. Eberly is one of those “drown gummint in the bath tub” types from the Bush era and they all…including Zerobama….seem to think replacing government with citizen volunteers and faith-based initiatives is the answer.

Calling NYS….I was looking for that tabloid headline about “Obama’s gay bath house secret” and couldn’t find it online… I saw it in the grocery store and was looking for the image online. Do you know which paper I saw that in? I can’t remember which tabloid!

I thought it was hilarious because there’s an obviously doctored photo of Zero pursing his lips to look “gay.” In reality, Zero purses his lips ALL the time when he’s annoyed, but it crinkles his face. The doctored photo was too smooth, with almost Zoolander level purse-age.

Maybe it’s not so funny as I remember it, but I thought it would be a brief diversion here, and I have to run and can’t keep looking….apparently the gay bath house rumor is a huge topic because there are way too many current discussions of this rumor to locate the tabloid via google search!

It’s no biggie…I can always get the paper’s name next time I hit the store…but if you know which paper, thanks in advance!

No sherbert, Sherlock!

Voters Say Hillary More Qualified To Be President Than Obama, Romney, Gingrich, Palin
Tuesday, June 22,
U.S. voters think Hillary Clinton is more qualified to be president than Barack Obama, but most believe that both Democrats are more fit for the White House than three top Republicans interested in the job.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 57% of voters feel Clinton is qualified to be president, but 34% disagree and say she is not.

As for President Obama, 51% say he is fit for the job. However, 44% say he is not qualified to be president, even though he has now served 17 months in the job.

Nearly as many (49%) say former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, an unsuccessful candidate for the GOP presidential nomination in 2008, is qualified to be president of the United States. Thirty-two percent (32%) say Romney is not qualified, but another 20% are not sure.

Just 35% of voters say former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is qualified to be the nation’s chief executive. Nearly half (48%) say Gingrich is not fit for the office. Seventeen percent (17%) are undecided.

As for Sarah Palin, ex-governor of Alaska and the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, only 26% feel she is qualified to be president, but 61% do not. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure.

We’re being governed by a bunch of vengeful, incompetent, juvenile idiots. The whole lot of ‘em suck germ-filled hairballs. There’s just nothing I can see that they control that’s going right. And, even worse, none of it makes a lick of sense….For millions of Americans like me… it’s personal. Life and death personal.

We’re at war. More than one. We’re not sure why. THERE’S A BIG FUCKING HOLE IN THE OCEAN FLOOR SHOOTING OSSIFIED DINOSAUR GUTS INTO THE WATER AND POISONING THE ENVIRONMENT. There are no jobs. We wake up everyday to news testifying to that fact.

=================
ya gotta wonder if this whole “Rahm go bye-bye” stuff might be in any way related to what might come out of the ongoing Rod Blagojevich corruption trial he was subpoenaed for. Hillary, on the other hand, hasn’t said much of anything. Apparently, it’s her policy not to address surprise backstabbing pronouncements she hears about in the press first.
===============================

It is only fitting that the Brother From Another Planet be appointed and anointed, selected rather than elected! HE IS THE ONE!

So what if a few piddling days down the road there are no jobs, good or otherwise, to be had, and the sick are losing their COBRA benefits and their bright shiny new healthcare reforms are way far far away by a few years? Who cares if the oceans are slowing because SOMEBODY BLEW A BIG FREAKING HOLE IN ITS FOOR THAT’S BEEN SPEWING OSSIFIED DINOSAUR GUTS INTO IT NON-STOP FOR TWO MONTHS? Yeah, sure, there are a couple of ongoing wars, but c’mon, why quibble, huh? Yea, verily these things are true, but, it’s not his fault! You, you, you, and, you are to blame, because you don’t really, really, really, truly believe.

=====

I’m just one of the “small people” negatively affected by one or more of Big Brother’s policies, but I can’t help but believe that at least some of our current problems could be minimized if we just had some grownups in charge of something.

Anything.

Because, the reality is, they’re killing us here.

…And the press is not one damned bit better. They’re so stupid, they’re actually trying to tell us that it’s the pictures of the oil “spill“/snark, that might doom the ObiWon, not his woefully inadequate response to the ecological disaster, itself. That, and Linsay Lohan’s mom didn’t get her free ice cream.

We are so screwed.

General Stanley McChrystal critizes Obama and the admin over the Afghan war in Rolling Stone magagzine, but has nothing but praise for the job Sec of State Hillary Clinton has been doing. Fox News is all over this story. The magazine is not out yet but McChrystal has apologized to Obama and Admiral Mullen and his press aide has been fired. McChrystal is on his way to the WH for a dressing down or firing. One general on Fox speculated that McChrystal may have been looking for an excuse to get out of the Afghan war (which was my first thought too).

Plus, just saw where, Federal judge in New Orleans, Louisiana, blocks six-month federal moratorium on deepwater drilling in Gulf.

BigCatLover 06.22.10 at 12:57 pm

An excerpt from the Rolling Stones article (LOVE IT!):

The profile, titled “The Runaway General,” emerged from several weeks of interviews and travel with McChrystal’s tight circle of aides this spring.

It includes a list of administration figures said to back McChrystal, including Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, and puts Vice President Joe Biden at the top of a list of those who don’t.

The article claims McChrystal has seized control of the war “by never taking his eye off the real enemy: The wimps in the White House.”

Asked by the Rolling Stone reporter about what he now feels of the war strategy advocated by Biden last fall – fewer troops, more drone attacks – McChrystal and his aides reportedly attempted to come up with a good one-liner to dismiss the question. “Are you asking about Vice President Biden?” McChrystal reportedly joked. “Who’s that?”

————–
In the fourth frame obama isnt walking on water, he goes down into the water. I would think that cover would be insulting to a man of such an overblown ego. Then, again, he’s been downplaying the magnificent gufts and talents he played up during the primaries. Just recently he said he wasn’t superman, etc., and the press seemingly has been trying to get US citizens to lower their expectations of him.
So, who really knows where he’s coming from re: the magazine cover?

You noticed that in the 4th frame of the magazine cover, the lights from heaven are no longer shining on him. Is this like his subtle alibi ? Careful you don’t end up with a law suit on your hands. You can’t ask anyone to remove political bumperstickers unless they violate decency laws (i.e. obscenities, etc.). And, you really do not want to place one of your stickers over her sticker. You can’t deface personal or public property.

You could however place anti-obama stickers around your office.

I haven’t read the Rolling Stone article. Some who have read it are saying the negative comments weren’t made by nor attributed to McChrystal. Also there is word that there was heavy drinking when the comments were made.

I don’t see alcohol (ab)use as an excuse. If you can’t guarantee your behavior after having drinks, I consider you to be an alcoholic. I certainly don’t want alcoholics in positions of authority, militarily or otherwise.

Read a post on Hillbuzz which stated that the individual was going to write their Senator saying I can see November.
Why not write every local politician up for anything with the same sentiment. Ten thousand emails to a sitting Senator might be blown off but a hundred to a local mayoral candidate with a promise of I will walk door to door explaining what cap and trade will mean to your grocery bill and then saying your democratic candidate needs to take stand on this.

Obama At War With Hillary Clinton And General McChrystal (The New Shinseki)
Hillary Clinton has responded and thrown a grenade in the secret war. The war between Hillary Clinton, joined now by General McChrystal and others, against Barack Obama continues sub rosa. We wrote about this war and how Obama was “waging a secret war on Hillary Clinton” on January 7, 2010 and featured an interview by Sean Hannity of Andrew Breitbart:

“The fear of Hillary Clinton is growing. Hillary Clinton is increasingly viewed as a threat because she can be the 44th person to take the oath of office (Grover Cleveland had two non-consecutive terms, so Hillary can be the 44th person to take the oath of office and be 44 still). The secret war has begun.[snip]

Sean Hannity began with a tedious recitation of a Washington Post story published that very day. The Washington Post story was a hit piece against Bill and Hillary Clinton. Hannity saw the article as another opportunity to bash and beat the Clintons. Andrew Breitbart was not a fool however. Breitbart saw the hit for what it was.[snip]

“My advice to those in Washington, where McChrystal attends meetings Wednesday? Cut the general a little slack. And remember to thank him and his soldiers for their courage and commitment before you criticize their impatience with policy questions launched from thousands of miles from the battlefield where they fight.”

Petulant and thin skinned – the President’s feelings and ego were hurt. Bwahhh. Is he going to make an example of McChrystal tomorrow ? I can see it now… “make no mistake…no one insults me without a public flogging”. Its just another ass kicking day in the life of Obama – what is new?

Mexico files court brief against Arizona immigration law

(CNN) — Mexico on Tuesday filed a brief in federal court in Arizona supporting a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a tough new immigration law, Mexico’s foreign ministry said.

The lawsuit seeks to overturn SB 1070, a recently passed law due to go into effect late next month, which stipulates that police can ask the residency status of people being investigated for a crime.

“The government of Mexico has requested the court that SB 1070 be declared unconstitutional and that it does not enter into force,” the foreign ministry said in a written statement.

Dragonfly – re: BP and cameras:

They appear to do most of the work at night – and switch the lives shots now from night to night (it appears to me.)

Last night, most of the activity was on Boa Deep C Camera 1. I observed them appearing to attempt attaching a large cap or pipe to the main leak point. For about 15 secs the flow was drastically reduced – less than it’s ever been since this started. Then, the robotic arm started shaking and twisting it – I thought for a better fitting at first, but it finally disconnected it and shortly thereafter that Boa C 2 camera went blank.

Tonight, it’s been camera Enterprise ROV 1.

they are checking a huge pipe. It appears to be disconnected from wherever it belongs. They are hoisting the pipe upward and bringing the joint sections in for a close-up to the camera. It looks cracked all around the joint connection (to me). In fact, as they are going to more section joints, it looks like several joints are damaged (to me).

I don’t have snapshot on this computer! Now the pipe is gone.

BOA C ROV 2 camera is flashing on and off to some mechanical room on a ship – with a big hole in the floor – it looks like – like where a winch might be – the camera is flashing “Not Recording”

“Hillary Clinton Smiles During Obama’s Comment On McChrystal”

…Which is, Hillary Clinton to her 18 million voters: “I’m doing just fine in my job as world leader… Mr. President, not so much.”

How can anyone defend a president that is more familiar with his golf caddy than the General in command of the War in Afghanistan?

Yes, noticed that too. Even Woman’s Day magazine July issue “just 25% believe he’ll get re-elected in 2012″.

Evidently, what it takes to light a fire under the POTUS is someone talking about him in an non flattering way, Makes me wish Tony Hayward had said something non flattering about the POTUS , a few days after the oil rig blew up. He might have summoned him to the White House immediately .

Is this possible? Local residents say that after several heavy rains in the a last couple of days- rain coming in off the gulf – oil is everywhere and nothing like this has ever happened before.

I don’t know what to make of it – but the videos are disturbing, if it IS somehow related to the spill – perhaps blowing rains can carry oil off the slicks from the gulf inland?

I bet he’ll stay. Obama can’t afford to have McChrystal free to say what he really thinks of Ofail

“Spent time with Gen Petraus this morning”

…Another 20 minute “strategy” meeting.

“My”, “Mine”, “I”, “As Commander in Chief”, “My”, “Mine”, “I”, “As Commander in Chief”… “My”, “Mine”, “I”, “As Commander in Chief”.

Got it…. he is definitely THE ONE IN CHARGE – too bad it’s in charge of fucking everything up.

443

wontbackdown 06.23.10 at 1:10 pm

vwade 06.23.10 at 12:54 pm :

Obama acts like he made the decision – actually, McCrystal made the decision months ago and made a conscious, strategic decision to announce it through the Rolling Stone, who probably thought that they were setting him up for “The One”.

McCrytal never apologized for “what” was said, just how it was delivered – publicly. It was through Obama’s own kool-aid machine, media channel – which wasn’t really all that dumb of McCrystal, after-all, when you think about.

Espionage is ugly and McCrsytal sent that message to his troops, imo.

Oil is gushing out!

—-

Either I have psychic eyes or that all unfolded between the night before and before 12 midnight last night.

And, either our eyes were playing tricks on TWO of us at my place last night, or there was some serious damage to a mechanical ship room floor at some point before midnight and definitely earlier than 10AM. One of the BP cameras was flashing on and off between the picture of it and a scrambled screen of “Not Recording” until they shut it off.

They were inspecting pipe joints that looked damaged – last night – after we watched them attempt a fitting of some kind of large cap and pipe that went terribly awry the night before – it was clear that the oil started gushing worse than ever after that, that night.

I wonder where those 2 deaths occurred?

ZEE: ‘Can’t get link to work”

Wow! Interesting? I checked the link after I posted it here and it worked fine. I’ve posted it at several places – wonder if it’s getting more bandwidth pull than it can handle on that site? It’s a Florida based, local site.

Let me see if I can find it on youtube – I think it was posted on youtube, as well.
