Two Irish Women…..

Two women were sitting next to each other at a bar. After a while one looks at the other and says, ‘I can’t help but think, from listening to you, that you’re from  Ireland .
T
he other woman responds proudly, ‘Yes, I sure  am!’
The first one says, ‘So am I! And where about in  Ireland are ya from ?
The other woman answers, ‘I’m from  Dublin , I am.
The first one responds, ‘So, am I!!

And what street did you live on in  Dublin ?’
The other woman says, ‘A lovely little area it was in the west end. I lived on  Warbury Street in the old central part of town.’
The first one says, ‘Faith and it’s a small world. So did I!  So did I!
And what school did ya go to?’
The other woman answers, ‘Well now, I went to Holy Heart of Mary, of course.’
The first one gets really excited and says, ‘And so did I. Tell me,what year did you graduate?’
The other woman answers, ‘Well, now, let’s see. I graduated in 1964.’
The first woman exclaims, ‘The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us ! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same pub tonight.  Can you believe
it, I graduated from Holy Heart of Mary in 1964 me self.

About this time, Michael walks into the bar, sits down and orders a beer. Brian, the bartender, walks over to Michael, shaking his head and mutters,
‘It’s going to be a long night tonight.’
Michael asks, ‘ Why do you say that, Brian?’
Brian answers, The Murphy twins are drunk again.’

Love you, Murphy:

Father Murphy walks into a pub in Donegal, and asks the first man he meets, ‘Do you want to go to heaven?’

The man said, ‘I do, Father.’

The priest said, ‘Then stand over there against the wall.’

Then the priest asked the second man, ‘Do you want to go to heaven?’

‘Certainly, Father,’ the man replied.

‘Then stand over there against the wall,’ said the priest.

Then Father Murphy walked up to O’Toole and asked, ‘Do you want to go to heaven?’

O’Toole said, ‘No, I don’t Father.’

The priest said, ‘I don’t believe this. You mean to tell me that when you die you don’t want to go to heaven?’

O’Toole said, ‘Oh, when I die , yes. I thought you were getting a group together to go right now.’

You’re always after me Lucky Charms:

Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn’t find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, ‘Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey!’

Miraculously, a parking place appeared.

Paddy looked up again and said, ‘Never mind, I found one.’

Paddy was in New York

He was patiently waiting and watching the traffic cop on a busy street crossing.. The cop stopped the flow of traffic and shouted, ‘Okay, pedestrians..’ Then he’d allow the traffic to pass.

He’d done this several times, and Paddy still stood on the sidewalk.

After the cop had shouted, ‘Pedestrians!’ for the tenth time, Paddy went over to him and said, ‘Is it not about time ye let the Catholics across?’

Zee 03.17.10 at 8:20 pm

lolol! Love all these funny stories…!!

And what a beautiful image up top here. I wore green tights in honor of the day…and downed a Guinness while I tried to watch the fraud run out the clock in his interview.

It was so gorgeous today I took the pup on an extra-long walk, and everywhere the kids had on the kelly green shirts. :)

8

Hey Zee, I could sure use a Guinness right now. I’m stuck at the airport and am getting mighty thirsty.

Gallagher opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend, Finney.

‘Did you see the paper?’ asked Gallagher. ‘They say I died!!’

‘Yes, I saw it!’ replied Finney. ‘Where are ye callin’ from?’

Zee 03.17.10 at 8:34 pm

Well, I watched the Michael Moore interview as well, and it was very interesting. MM was explaining *exactly* what was wrong but was completely blind to the fact he should’ve seen this during the election. And he kept saying he liked the fraud, and then they’d bring up another topic in which MM was “disappointed” or disgusted with the fraud’s stance! I mean, duh, already. Get a clue, Moore.

Here are more highlights, Zee-style, of the news tonight:

Donna Brazile accused Republicans of whining and *bed-wetting.*

Zerobama misspelled Syracuse when picking teams for some ball game predictions.

Dennis o-fluffer Kucinich said there would be time later to add what he wants in the health bill….such as *alternative medicine.* Oh yeah? That right, Kook-cinich? “Alternative” like the Breatharian cult you and your trophy bride enable?

http://irregulartimes.com/index.php/archives/2007/08/03/kucinich-hira-ratan-manek/

(I know I posted this link downstairs, but it really shouldn’t be missed…)

You get right on that, Dennis. You and Elizabeth give up food, stare into the sun and live on air. Go on, now. You preach it, live it.

Loved the Irish humor. I’m not Irish but I wore green today and ordered yet another Irish sweater from QVC. Guess what color it is – green. This makes my 6th Irish sweater. They have products straight from Ireland sold by the Irish makers all day on St. Patrick’s Day. I swear this will be the last one I buy. I swear.

14

Puma-SF 03.17.10 at 8:42 pm

Please do, Zee that would make me feel much better. Here’s one for you:

Walking into the bar, Mike said to Charlie the bartender, ‘Pour me a stiff one – just had another fight with the little woman.’

‘Oh yeah?’ said Charlie, ‘And how did this one end?’

‘When it was over,’ Mike replied, ‘She came to me on her hands and knees.’

‘Really,’ said Charles, ‘Now that’s a switch! ? What did she say?’

She said, ‘Come out from under the bed, you little coward.’

Maybe you don’t want to hear this one quite yet, but did you hear how it took Virgin 16 hours to move passengers from LA to NYC….and in the end Jet Blue had to rescue them and move them in a 2 hour bus ride?

So everyone was tweeting furiously and the Virgin CEO caught wind of it….and offered everyone $100.

Here’s one more before the cart me off:

Patton staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Paddy. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Kathleen.

He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump. A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful.

Managing not to yell, Patton sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the hall mirror to see that his butt cheeks were cut and bleeding. He managed to quietly find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a Band-Aid as best he could on each place he saw blood.

He then hid the now almost empty Band-Aid box and shuffled and stumbled his way to bed.

In the morning, Patton woke up with searing pain in both his head and butt and Kathleen staring at him from across the room.

She said, ‘You were drunk again last night weren’t you?’

Patton said, ‘Why you say such a mean thing?’

‘Well,’ Kathleen said, ‘it could be the open front door, it could be the broken glass at the bottom of the stairs, it could be the drops of blood trailing through the house, it could be your bloodshot eyes, but mostly ….. it’s all those Band-Aids stuck on the hall mirror.

BillieJo 03.17.10 at 9:05 pm

As soon as she had finished parochial school, a bright young girl named Mary shook the dust of Ireland off her shoes and made her way to New York where before long, she became a successful performer in show business. Eventually she returned to her home town for a visit and on a Saturday night went to confession in the church which she had always attended as a child.

In the confessional Father Sullivan recognized her and began asking her about her work. She explained that she was an acrobatic dancer, and he wanted to know what that meant. She said she would be happy to show him the kind of thing she did on stage. She stepped out of the confessional and within sight of Father Sullivan, she went into a series of cartwheels, leaping splits, handsprings and back-flips.

Kneeling near the confessional, waiting their turn, were two middle-aged ladies. They witnessed Mary’s acrobatics with wide eyes, and one said to the other. “Will you just look at the penance Father Sullivan is givin’ out this night, and me without me bloomers on!”

I found a couple….

Three men walk into a bar: a Frenchman, an Italian and an Irishman. Each orders one beer. Three flies fly into the bar and one fly lands in each man’s beer.

The Italian man plucks the fly out of his beer, says “tutto e bene” (all is well)” and drinks the beer.

The Frenchman shows his beer with the bug still inside it to the bartender and demands another beer.

The Irishman yanks the bug out of the beer, grabs it by its wings, shakes it while yelling, “Cough it up, ye wee thievin’ bastard!”

31

Zee 03.17.10 at 9:14 pm

Have a good flight, PumaSF!!!

One more, in case you’re still looking…

There was once an Irishman named Murphy who walked into an American Bar. He sat down and asked the Bartender “Give me three shots o’ your finest Irish Whiskey!” The Bartender complies.

After about a week the bartender asks, “Murphy, would it be better for you if I put all three shots of Irish Whiskey into one glass?”

Murphy replied, “Well no. See I have two other brothers back at home, Patrick and Owen, and everytime I come into a Pub or Bar I order a shot for each o’ them so I can remember the good times.”

Well, after another week of this routine, Murphy comes into the bar and only asks for two shots of Irish Whiskey. The bartender immediately asks “Murphy, is everything ok? Did somethin’ happen to one of your brothers?”

“Oh no”, Murphy said, “I just decided to quit drinkin!”

32

Swannie 03.17.10 at 9:22 pm

Murphy approached Mulligan’s bar. On the step outside he was accosted by a nun, Sister Marie, who said:

‘Surely a fine man like yourself is not going into this den of iniquity? Surely you’re not going to waste your hard-earned cash on the devil’s brew. Why don’t you go home and feed and clothe your wife and children?’

‘Hang on, Sisters,’ spluttered Murphy. ‘How can you condemn alcohol out of hand? Surely it’s wrong to form such a rash judgement when you’ve never tasted the stuff?’

‘Very well,’ said Sister Marie. I will taste it just to prove my point. Obviously I can’t go into the pub, so why don’t you bring me some gin. Oh, and just to camouflage my intent, maybe you should bring it in a cup not a glass!’

‘OK,’ said Murphy and into the bar he breezed.

‘I’ll have a large gin,’ he said to the barman. ‘And can you put it in a cup?’

‘My God,’ said the barman, ‘that nun’s not outside again is she?’

;)

Drudge Report
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011367936_walgreens18m.html

Effective April 16, Walgreens drugstores across the state won’t take any new Medicaid patients, saying that filling their prescriptions is a money-losing proposition — the latest development in an ongoing dispute over Medicaid reimbursement.

The company, which operates 121 stores in the state, will continue filling Medicaid prescriptions for current patients.

In a news release, Walgreens said its decision to not take new Medicaid patients stemmed from a “continued reduction in reimbursement” under the state’s Medicaid program, which reimburses it at less than the break-even point for 95 percent of brand-name medications dispensed to Medicaid patents.

Walgreens follows Bartell Drugs, which stopped taking new Medicaid patients last month at all 57 of its stores in Washington, though it still fills Medicaid prescriptions for existing customers at all but 15 of those stores.

It’s an Irish Puzzle

Doolin bought himself a jigsaw puzzle with 20 pieces. It took him a month to fit the pieces together correctly. He thought this was terrific, but his mate O’Reilly said, ‘What’s the big deal?’

Doolin said,’ Well it said on the box: 4 to 6 years.’

An American lawyer inquired, ‘Paddy, why is it that whenever you ask an Irishman a question, he answers with another question?’
‘Who told you that?’ asked Paddy.

Mrs. Feeney shouted from the kitchen, ‘Is that you I hear spittin’ in the vase on the mantel piece?’
‘No,’ said himself, ‘but I’m gettin’ closer all the time.’

Paddy wanted to be an accountant, so he went and took the Irish accountancy exam.

Examiner: If I give you two rabbits and then I give you another two rabbits, how many rabbits do you have?
Paddy: Five.

Examiner: No, listen carefully again. If I give you two rabbits and then I give you another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Paddy: Five.

Examiner: Let’s try this another way. If I give you two bottles of beer and then I give you another two bottles of beer, how many bottles of beer have you got?
Paddy: Four.

Examiner: Good! Now, if I give you two rabbits and then I give you another two rabbits, how many rabbits have you got?
Paddy: Five.

Examiner: How on earth do you work out that two lots of two rabbits is five?
Paddy: I’ve already got one rabbit at home!

OOps he did it again

WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden asked for God’s blessing for the late mother of Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen during a White House celebration of St. Patrick’s Day — except the elderly lady is very much alive.

“God rest her soul,” Biden said Wednesday night as he introduced Cowen and President Barack Obama. He quickly caught himself and noted that it’s Cowen’s father who is no longer living. Of the prime minister’s mother, Biden said, “God bless her soul.”

Biden then cited the Irish proverb that “a silent mouth is sweet to hear” and yielded the podium to the president

More Guinness …. jokes:

…recipe for Irish stew: Get some meat, some potatoes and a lot of Guinness Stout. Drink all of the stout. Forget about the stew.
==============================

After the Britain Beer Festival, in London, all the brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer.

The guy from Corona sits down and says, “Hey Senor, I would like the world’s best beer, a Corona.” The bartender dusts off a bottle from the shelf and gives it to him. The guy from Budweiser says, “I’d like the best beer in the world, give me ‘The King Of Beers’, a Budweiser.” The bartender gives him one. The guy from Coors says, “I’d like the only beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water, give me a Coors.” He gets it.

The guy from Guinness sits down and says, “Give me a Coke.” The bartender is a little taken aback, but gives him what he ordered. The other brewery presidents look over at him and ask “Why aren’t you drinking a Guinness?” and the Guinness president replies, “Well, I figured if you guys aren’t drinking beer, neither would I.”

46

Zee 03.17.10 at 10:47 pm

oops, almost forgot one:

A Texan walks into a pub in Galway, Ireland and raises his voice to the crowd of drinkers. He shouts, ‘I hear you Irish are a bunch of drinkin’ fools. I’ll give $500 American dollars to anybody in here who can drink 10 pints of Guinness back to back.’

The room is quiet and no one takes up the Texan’s offer.

Paddy Murphy gets up and leaves the bar. Thirty minutes later, he shows back up and taps the Texan on the shoulder. Is your bet still good?’ asks Paddy.

The Texan answers, ‘Yes’, and he orders the barman to line up 10 pints of Guinness.

Immediately, Paddy downs all 10 pints of beer, drinking them all back to back. The other pub patrons cheer and the Texan sits down in amazement. The Texan gives the Irishman the $500 and asks, ‘If ya don’t mind me askin’, where did you go for that 30 minutes you were gone?’

Paddy Murphy replies, ‘Oh………………. I had to go to the pub down the street to see if I could do it first.’

47

Zee 03.17.10 at 10:50 pm

Hmmmm….looks like there’s no end to the Guinness jokes…

Two Irishmen, Patrick & Michael, were adrift in a lifeboat following a dramatic escape from a burning freighter. While rummaging through the boat’s provisions, Patrick stumbled across an old lamp. Secretly hoping that a genie would appear, he rubbed the lamp vigorously To the amazement of Patrick, a genie came forth. This particular genie, however, stated that he could only deliver one wish, not the standard three. Without giving much thought to the matter, Patrick blurted out, “Make the entire ocean into Guinness Beer!” The genie clapped his hands with a deafening crash, and immediately the entire sea turned into the finest brew ever sampled by mortals. Simultaneously, the genie vanished. Only the gentle lapping of Guinness on the hull broke the stillness as the two men considered their circumstances. Michael looked disgustedly at Patrick whose wish had been granted. After a long, tension-filled moment, he spoke: “Nice going Patrick! Now we’re going to have to pee in the boat!

Breaking news for PUMA pet owners

EPA: More pets injured by flea and tick products

WASHINGTON – Products intended to treat cats and dogs for fleas and ticks kill hundreds of pets each year and injure tens of thousands, the Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday as it outlined plans to make the products safer.

The EPA said it will develop stricter testing and evaluation requirements for flea and tick treatments that are applied to a pet’s skin. The agency also will begin reviewing labels to determine which ones need to say more clearly how to use the products.

The EPA’s effort follows increasing complaints from pet owners that the “spot-on” products have triggered reactions in dogs and cats, ranging from skin irritation to neurological problems to deaths. Cats and small dogs appear particularly vulnerable, the EPA said, especially when given products intended for larger animals.

News for Facebook users…

New password-stealing virus targets Facebook

BOSTON (Reuters) – Hackers have flooded the Internet with virus-tainted spam that targets Facebook’s estimated 400 million users in an effort to steal banking passwords and gather other sensitive information.

The emails tell recipients that the passwords on their Facebook accounts have been reset, urging them to click on an attachment to obtain new login credentials, according to anti-virus software maker McAfee Inc.

If the attachment is opened, it downloads several types of malicious software, including a program that steals passwords, McAfee said on Wednesday.

Walgreens to Fill Prescriptions for Current Medicaid Patients Only As of April 16; Talks Continue with State of Washington

DEERFIELD, Ill., March 15, 2010 – Walgreens (NYSE: WAG) (NASDAQ: WAG) has given notice to the State of Washington that its pharmacies across the state will continue filling Medicaid prescriptions for current patients, but effective April 16 they will not accept new Washington Medicaid patients. The company, which operates 121 pharmacies in Washington, originally planned to stop filling Medicaid prescriptions in February at 64 of its stores across the state because of continued reduction in reimbursement under the State’s program. That decision was delayed while negotiations continued over the last month.

Under its current pharmacy payment structure, Washington Medicaid is reimbursing Walgreens below its cost to break even on nearly 95 percent of brand name medications dispensed to Medicaid patients.

Rep. Conyers’ wife can’t afford a lawyer for sentencing appeal (she gets public defender)

When it comes to qualifying for a court-appointed lawyer, it doesn’t necessarily matter to whom you’re married. That’s what Monica Conyers, wife of Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.), demonstrated this week when a federal judge declared her indigent and assigned her a tax-funded public defender to appeal a three-year prison sentence for bribery conspiracy.
Monica Conyers, a former Detroit City Council member, pleaded guilty this past June to accepting cash bribes in exchange for her vote on a $1.2 billion sewage sludge contract with a Houston company. Now she wants to undo that deal, but says she can’t afford a lawyer to do so, despite the fact that her husband — who is the second-longest serving current member of the U.S. House of Representatives — makes $174,000 a year.

More than 100 drivers in Austin, Texas found their cars disabled or the horns honking out of control, after an intruder ran amok in a web-based vehicle-immobilization system normally used to get the attention of consumers delinquent in their auto payments.

The dealership used a system called Webtech Plus as an alternative to repossessing vehicles that haven’t been paid for. Operated by Cleveland-based Pay Technologies, the system lets car dealers install a small black box under vehicle dashboards that responds to commands issued through a central website, and relayed over a wireless pager network. The dealer can disable a car’s ignition system, or trigger the horn to begin honking, as a reminder that a payment is due. The system will not stop a running vehicle.

Nurse practitioners will not solve the primary care shortage
March 11, 2010

With health reform possibly passing within the next few months, attention now turns to the primary care doctor shortage.

Regular readers of this blog know that there are not enough primary care doctors currently; it’s frightening to think what would happen if an additional 40+ million newly insured patients start looking for care.

A recent piece from Newsweek nicely encapsulates the problem. It’s a good piece, elucidating the myriad of reasons why new medical students shy away from the field:

The close relationships that general practitioners once had with patients drew many idealistic students into the field. Now recruiters face an extra-tough sell: they have to convince bright young would-be docs to pursue a career that won’t pay very well and won’t be as emotionally fulfilling as it once was.

Sandra Bullock reportedly moved out of the home she shares with husband Jesse James two days before shocking cheating claims from a tattoo model surfaced.

Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee claimed she had a months-long affair with Sandra Bullock’s husband Jesse James while Bullock was filming the movie that won her an Oscar.

McGee told In Touch magazine she and James had sex repeatedly while Bullock was shooting “The Blind Side” in 2009.

She told the magazine she thought James and Bullock were separated.”I would never have hooked up with him if I thought he was a married man,” she said.

McGee said she originally reached out to James because she wanted to get a modeling job at his company West Coast Choppers.

She said she was surprised when he responded and asked her to send photos to his personal email, In Touch reports.
She said she drove to meet him at his office, where she asked him about Bullock.

LEGISLATION

Senate OKs Jobs Bill for Obama’s Signature

Washington (AP) – Companies that hire unemployed workers will get a temporary payroll tax holiday under a bill that easily won final congressional approval Wednesday.

The bipartisan 68-29 vote in the Senate sends the legislation to the White House, where President Barack Obama has promised to sign it into law.

The bill which passed Wednesday contains about $18 billion in tax breaks and a $20 billion infusion of cash into highway and transit programs. Among other things, it exempts businesses that hire the unemployed from paying the 6.2 percent Social Security payroll tax through December and gives employers an additional $1,000 credit if new workers stay on the job a full year. Taxpayers will have to reimburse Social Security for the lost revenue.

“This is just the first, certainly not the last, piece of legislation that we will put forward in relation to jobs,” said sponsor Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. “If we don’t create jobs, the economy will not move forward.”

The measure is modest compared with last year’s $862 billion economic stimulus bill, and the bulk of the hiring tax breaks would probably go to companies that were likely to hire new workers anyway.

Much of the bill is financed over the coming decade by cracking down on offshore tax havens, though it would add $13 billion to the debt in the coming three years.

“When are we going to stop spending money around here as if there’s no tomorrow?” said Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H. “Because pretty soon there’s going to be no tomorrow for our children as we add this debt to their backs.”

Health Insurance Premiums Would Rise Under Obama Plan, AP ‘Fact Check’ Says

Washington (AP) – Buyers, beware: President Barack Obama says his health care overhaul will lower premiums by double digits, but check the fine print.

Premiums are likely to keep going up even if the health care bill passes, experts say. If cost controls work as advertised, annual increases would level off with time. But don’t look for a rollback. Instead, the main reason premiums would be more affordable is that new government tax credits would help cover the cost for millions of people.

Obama asked his audience for a show of hands from people with employer-provided coverage, what most Americans have.

“Your employer, it’s estimated, would see premiums fall by as much as 3,000 percent,” said the president, “which means they could give you a raise.”

A White House press spokesman later said the president misspoke; he had meant to say annual premiums would drop by $3,000.

It could be a long wait.

“There’s no question premiums are still going to keep going up,” said Larry Levitt of the Kaiser Family Foundation, a research clearinghouse on the health care system. “There are pieces of reform that will hopefully keep them from going up as fast. But it would be miraculous if premiums actually went down relative to where they are today.”

Sorry, I had to duck out of the party early last night…

goofs, I’ll be in touch, but I don’t think my dog’s solution will work for others, because he has skin allergies and gets prescribed shampoo, etc., in the warm seasons.

Just popping in to post an infuriating link to Katha Pollitt in The Nation, albeit one month later:

http://www.thenation.com/doc/20100308/pollitt

“I’m still glad I supported Obama over Hillary Clinton. If Hillary had won the election, every single day would be a festival of misogyny. We would hear constantly about her voice, her laugh, her wrinkles, her marriage and what a heartless, evil bitch she is for doing something–whatever!–men have done since the Stone Age. Each week would bring its quotient of pieces by fancy women writers explaining why they were right not to have liked her in the first place….”

Like YOU, Katha? I’m not sure if it rises to a prowl, but I thought some may care to write to the Nation and explain to Katha that the hole in her head puts the one in the Ozone to shame.

h/t to TGW where egalia also linked to one of my favorite woman bloggers, Historiann, who responded:

http://www.historiann.com/2010/02/20/u-haz-editorz-at-the-nation-or-is-maureen-dowd-ghosting-for-katha-pollitt/

“I’m sure everything will be so totally different when we have that perfect, unassailable, totally awesome female Presidential or Vice-Presidential candidate! Instead of…that unserious, stupid ”Caribou Barbie” Sarah Palin, or that old b!tch, Clinton. (Or, as Pollitt calls her instead, “Hillary,” in a column in which she never refers to President Obama as “Barack.” Not once.) … Because that’s exactly how history operates: ancient prejudices vanish overnight when a perfect leader appears to show us the way. Thank goodness we’re all saved from having to see, read, and hear misogyny now! It’s such a relief. (At least I’m enjoying the break–aren’t you, too?)”

The entire post is worth reading, as are all the many comments, after which Historiann wrote:

“I appreciate that everyone has kept the conversation here pretty civil. I think the lesson is that people who supported Clinton 2 years ago –many of whom were called stupid, ‘vagina voters,’ and racist– are still pretty chapped, especially since Obama has turned out to be pretty much the guy we thought he was all along–inexperienced, rudderless, and likely to get rolled…”

GOP loses fight with Democrats over health votes

Republicans have lost an effort to force House Democrats to hold a direct vote on the health overhaul bill.

Democrats want to use a special procedure that would let the House automatically approve the $940 billion measure when lawmakers vote to begin debating a separate proposal that would revise that big health bill.

Democratic leaders hope this maneuver would ease the political pain for lawmakers hesitant about voting directly on the giant health legislation — which the Senate has approved.

Republicans tried to block that move, but Democrats in the House prevailed by a 222-203 vote on Thursday.

The House is set to debate the health bill on Sunday.

For those who want to read what was written by Reich

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-reich/why-all-house-democrats-m_b_499753.html

His conclusions are if they don’t pass it (HC) it will be hung around their necks like in 1994 and Repub. will take the majority in 2010.

Please note – I do not support HC in it’s current form. I would love a single payer plan. What we have comming at us is a nightmare. I just have a thing about opinion blogs and always have to do my own research before I let them manipulate my emotions. ;)

Well, well, well… Guess what isn’t going to be included in the Sunday vote….

Insurance-rate regulation dropped from latest health bill

WASHINGTON — A Democratic plan for new federal power over health insurance rates was dropped Thursday from the final health care bill, squeezed out by the way the Democrats are pushing the bill through Congress .

Rolled out with fanfare just weeks ago, the Democratic plan was a response to double-digit rate increases proposed by health insurance companies in California and elsewhere.
——-snip

A White House aide said Thursday that the Senate parliamentarian had ruled that the new insurance-rate regulation proposal didn’t qualify to be included in that bill under rules for reconciliation.

In particular, the parliamentarian ruled that the proposal ran afoul of the Byrd Rule, named for Sen. Robert Byrd , D- W.Va. , which requires that anything passed under reconciliation — and therefore exempt from the threat of filibuster — be limited to budget measures.

17,000 new employees for IRS

Subcommittee on Oversight ranking member Charles Boustany (R-La.) said the IRS provision in the bill “dangerously expands, in an ominous way the tentacles of the IRS and it’s reach into every American family,” he said today during a press conference.
“This is a vast expanse of power,” he said.

Boustany said the bill would allow the IRS to confiscate refunds if there are penalties for not buying health care.

Lawmakers have questioned whether the IRS can handle the increased workload to oversee, administer and collect penalties for people who don’t buy health insurance.

Assuming it becomes law, the Congressional Budget Office expects the IRS will need roughly $10 billion over the next 10 years and nearly 17,000 new employees to meet its new responsibilities under health reform.

Working for Uncle Sam comes with some great perks, like job stability, posh benefits packages, and in many cases, average salaries that are higher than what the same job pays in the private sector.

That’s why Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is irked that nearly 100,000 civilian federal employees owe the IRS $962 million in back taxes. He thinks they should pay up or be fired.
Chaffetz has introduced a bill that calls for the federal government to “ferret out” civilian employees who have “seriously delinquent tax debt” and prevent the hiring of other tax delinquents.

More than 3 percent of the 2.8 million federal civilian employees owed the Treasury unpaid federal income taxes in 2008, according to the IRS. If you include retirees and military service members, the numbers go from nearly 100,000 up to 276,000 current or former workers who owe $3 billion in taxes.

Currently, only IRS employees can be terminated for non-payment of federal income taxes — a measure Chaffetz wants extended to all federal agencies.

On Hannity, they just said in these new amendments to the bill, that the IRS will be in charge of making sure everyone buys into health care…if this crappy bill is passed.

Great, bad enough to have a terrible bill but to have the taxman on our butts is ugly.

I wonder how all those 20somethings that helped the fraud steal the primary will feel when they are forced to have health care, pay for it and fined if not…no pink ponies there.

Idaho first to sign law aimed at health care plan
By JOHN MILLER (AP) – 1 day ago

BOISE, Idaho — Idaho took the lead in a growing, nationwide fight against health care overhaul Wednesday when its governor became the first to sign a measure requiring the state attorney general to sue the federal government if residents are forced to buy health insurance.

Similar legislation is pending in 37 other states.
Constitutional law experts say the movement is mostly symbolic because federal laws supersede those of the states.

Otter, a Republican, said he believes any future lawsuit from Idaho has a legitimate shot of winning, despite what the naysayers say.

“The ivory tower folks will tell you, ‘No, they’re not going anywhere,’ ” he told reporters. “But I’ll tell you what, you get 36 states, that’s a critical mass. That’s a constitutional mass.”

Caterpillar: Health Bill Would Cost Company $100 Million More

“We can ill-afford cost increases that place us at a disadvantage versus our global competitors,” said the letter signed by Gregory Folley, vice president and chief human resources officer of Caterpillar. “We are disappointed that efforts at reform have not addressed the cost concerns we’ve raised throughout the year.”

A letter Thursday to President Barack Obama and members of Congress signed by more than 130 economists predicted the legislation would discourage companies from hiring more workers and would cause reduced hours and wages for those already employed.

Mornin’ PUMAs -

I am so angry that I cannot even muster the energy to send any more emails, faxes or calls to those assholes sitting in Washington -

Just watched Debbie wasserman-schmidt or whatever lie – well just not answer the question – martha maccallum asked her when is enough enough – we are broke – debbie says but but but this bill is gonna save 100+ billion – big fuckin’ deal – we are over 12 TRILLION dollars in the whole

Do you really think the government is gonna save any money – remember how much money was allocated for the census this year??? Millions & millions & millions???? well the fuckin’ government is so good that they are counting the returned census forms by hand with paper & pencil becuz the software doesn’t work – oh yeah – I really do want the government to run more of my life – bullshit – stay away & they can take their Medicare program and stick that where the sun don’t shine – if it is do god damm great why am I spending an additional $100 bucks a month for insurance over & above the $115.00 the gov is deducting from the SS that I paid into for 45+ years?? I tell you – I will not vote for one single incumbent – I want people who have read the Constitution and will follow the Constitution – the people are supposed to be in charge – BTW – congress is 13% approval according to Larry Sabato this am – Gallup Poll –
Are these weasels listening???? Hell no – & if one more person says but but but the fraud is still popular they just don’t like his policies I will probably throw something at the TV – he’s a loathesome arrogant POS and I hope the impeachment process starts as soon as his fuckin’ left hand signs his illegal name to the bill………………………

I can’t believe that I have become this so very angry person – I tried to limit my involvement in reading the blogs but guess I am addicted – the more I read, the angrier I get…………… this has been one hell of a week PUMAs – actually, it’s been hell since May 31, 2008………………..

134

“…they are counting the returned census forms by hand with paper & pencil becuz the software doesn’t work…”

Actually, that’s the best news I’ve heard all week. I wish we’d go back to pen and ballot and hand counting, too! When are we going to learn not to use iffy electronics and computers for simple tasks better done by hand?

I just read that the reason all the Toyotas are randomly accelerating is because instead of a throttle cable, a physical connection between the gas pedal and the engine, some stupid “sensors” tell a computer how far down you’ve pushed the pedal!

Of course there are random problems with that, which can’t be chased down, and which can’t be reproduced regularly enough to “fix” the problem!

Some things are best left physical.

http://republicans.waysandmeans.house.gov/UploadedFiles/IRS_Power_Report.pdf

The Ways and Means report portrays healthcare reform as having a wide-ranging impact on how the IRS operates, including:

IRS agents would be tasked with determining whether Americans had obtained the insurance coverage required under the individual mandate.

Individuals could be fined $2,250 or 2 percent of income, whichever is greater, if you are unable to prove you have “minimum essential coverage.”

The IRS would be empowered to confiscate tax refunds if necessary.

Audits probably would increase as a result of the legislation’s new requirements.

The budget for IRS operations will balloon by $10 billion in the next decade in order to administrate the new program.

Nearly half of the new individual mandate taxes will be paid “by Americans earning less than 300 percent of poverty, $66150 for a family of four.

“…signing statements may challenge Congress’s authority to act or assert that that the president will not enforce the law as written. This type of signing statement is often called a “constitutional” signing statement: a president will object to a provision of law by citing a provision of the Constitution, or by citing a Supreme Court ruling interpreting the Constitution, or by bare assertion (without citation to authority) that the law offends the Constitution or invades the power of the Executive….”

http://www.coherentbabble.com/faqs.htm

I couldn’t possibly give you “some examples” sistermoon….they weren’t rare. Or rather, they were rare but Bush started using them like mad, in order to pick and choose what law or part of law he would enact/follow.

But if you follow this link, there is an entire list of Bush’s Signing Statements…and also fraudbama’s. I’m afraid this is one genie that won’t go back in its bottle any time soon.

142

Zee 03.19.10 at 9:54 am

Scarlet, Normapuma, NYS, delle, sistermoon, and any other pumas here today discussing “wealthcare.”

I agree that the enforced aspect of purchasing insurance should be the focus.

What is the argument against that?

Added to the mandatory house insurance and mandatory auto insurance, if we have mandatory health insurance we can say “Nothing is certain but death and taxes and insurance.”

143

Zee 03.19.10 at 9:58 am

Regarding all the signing statements. Allllllll the obots who are silent now about them used to rant and rave about them when Bush used them the same way people are fuming over procedural loopholes (including signing statements) that fraudbama is now (or potentially) using.

That’s the problem with abuse of executive power. People only notice it when they don’t like a particular president.

Happy Saint Joseph’s Day to my Italian friends.

****************
Dances just discovered this: March 19 always falls during Lent and according to Canon law if the feast day falls on a Friday, the obligation to abstain from meat or do penance is lifted. :)

St Joseph’s Day is also celebrated in other American communities with high proportions of Italians such as New York City; Buffalo; Chicago [9]; Kansas City, MO; Gloucester, Mass.; and Providence, Rhode Island where observance (which takes place just after Saint Patrick’s Day) often is expressed through “the wearing of the red” i.e. wearing red clothing or accessories similar to the wearing of green on Saint Patrick’s Day –

the observance of St Joseph’s Day (and wearing of red) by Italian Americans communities which are also home to significant Irish American communities can take on the overtone of a challenge by the Italian Americans to the power and relevance of those Irish communities and Saint Patrick’s Day [10].
**************************************

***WEARING OF THE RED*** I never knew that, so being Italian myself, I just slipped a red silk scarf around my neck.

And today is Friday so Chicken Cacciatore is permitted.
Happy Blessed St. Joseph’s Day everyone!

Yes, if you have the money, buy up those discounted houses…that would be a nice business to be in. I just met a woman who went in partners with another woman to do exactly that, and fix them up. You definitely need capital, tho. Or just plain elbow grease. Speaking of which….I’d prefer the former but not having that option must go employ the latter.

And Murphy….if you’re lurking….thinking of you and wishing you all the best in your basement clean-up….

I hate to do this, but im gonna…let me tell you this much about the way i am…when i am wrong i will admit it, im just not that smug to think i know it all, i have been wrong many times.

Do I wish this healthcare bill was really gonna be great for this country? yes
Do I think it’s a fair bill? NO
Do I believe the tactics used were right? NO
Do I believe we needed a bipartisan bill? Yes
Do I want healthcare cost to go down? of course
If in a year from now and this thing passes, and our country
is way better off and jobs have been recouped and our industries and housing markets are on the uptake and millions love the new healthcare they are getting, I will say I was wrong.

Just so you know. Time and time alone will tell, but for now, my gut, my past knowledge and present tell me differently.

I have a question about the right to choose …If we had an enforced LAW on the books that required the father to pay a percentage of the health care cost for abortion or childbirth which ever the woman ( or pregnant child) chooses; because no matter what it would still be HER CHOICE …. say 50% of what ever health care costs that were incurred including child care as the child grows, if the woman chooses to have the child .. how many pro life men would change their stance? The health care legislation doesn’t go into effect until 2014 except for the taxing part which will go into effect quicker

HOW MANY COVERED: 32 million uninsured. Major coverage expansion begins in 2014. When fully phased in, 95 percent of eligible Americans would have coverage, compared with 83 percent today.

INSURANCE MANDATE: Almost everyone is required to be insured or else pay a fine. There is an exemption for low-income people. Mandate takes effect in 2014.

St Joseph is the patron saint of “the church” . The catholic church is in trouble right now because of the literally hundreds of thousands of abused children all over the world, especially Ireland, where of 9 seminaries only one has not been closed . Joseph is known for preventing Mary from being stoned for being pregnant out of wedlock ( gee the rest of the world has evolved in the 2000 years since stoning days.. haven’t they) , and preventing a famine. So if Joseph does anything he will prevent this bill from passing !!!

excerpt:
Yesterday, I decided to call Rep. John Garamendi’s (CA-10) office in Washington, D.C. He’s my representative and I wanted to voice my opposition to the Senate Health Care Bill. I spoke with a female staffer and politely told her that, while I support health care reform, I oppose the Senate Bill because it wasn’t true “reform.” She said the Congressman thinks it’s a good bill and that he campaigned on health care reform. I told her I knew that. I also mentioned that I voted for him. When I tried to give her specific reasons why the Senate Bill would harm our system rather than reform it, she refused to listen. She said she was very busy and hung up on me. Being the persistent person that I am, I kept calling back. Each time I tried to finish my point, she hung up.quiet

I called one more time. This time she said, “If you call one more time, we will notify Capital Police.” I asked why my conduct warranted involving federal law enforcement agents. She said I was “harassing” her. I tried to explain that trying to convince a representative to change his or her vote didn’t constitute “harassment.” Before I could fully explain, she hung up again.

I called back. This time, I asked to speak to her supervisor in order to report her repeated hanging up as well as the threat she made. I was placed on hold. Thinking I was holding for her supervisor, I was shocked when a Federal Agent with the Capital Police picked-up the telephone.

the observance of St Joseph’s Day (and wearing of red) by Italian Americans communities which are also home to significant Irish American communities can take on the overtone of a challenge by the Italian Americans to the power and relevance of those Irish communities and Saint Patrick’s Day
———————–
I don’t know about other communities, I grew up in Manhattan. My parents wouldn’t allow us to wear green on St Pat’s Day, most of “us” wore orange on St Pat’s Day, nor would they allow us participate in any of the celebrations. There was a deep animosity toward Irish Anericans, probably because the Irish arrived before Italians and spent lots o’ energy discriminating against us.

183

Susie1945 03.19.10 at 4:24 pm

Huh – that’s weird Dances – lots of Irish in MN – especially in St. Paul – however, most of my teen years were spent up north on the Iron Range which was a real conglomeration of nationalities – you name it, we had it – anyway the Scandinavians – well, mostly the Finns – claimed St. Urho’s Day and celebrated that the day before & wore purple – most of the others wore orange on St Paddy’s day…………….had something to do with wine/grapes…………….

BigCatLover 03.19.10 at 4:25 pm

I think I know what Obama is using to force dems to support his Presidency by voting for the hc bill. Neil Cavuto on his show today on Fox was listing all the ‘high profile’ guests he is having on his shows this weekend since all the first team at Fox will be broadcasting on the air this big hc vote weekend. He said on Sunday he would have Jeb Bush on and that ‘many think Jeb Bush will be making a run at the White House’. Obama may have told the dems that if he goes down as President, there will be another BUSH in the WH. Eeeek. (tongue in cheek)

185

BigCatLover 03.19.10 at 4:31 pm

I once wore orange to a huge St. Patrick Day party and I heard about that (I had no idea orange apparently represents the English). Let’s not resurrect the historical animosity between the nationalities from our past. If we start listing the bad things the Irish did, then we have to list the bad things the Italians did (Al Capone?). I’m of very mixed background and the only part of it that I care about is my Cherokee heritage, but even they did some really brutal things.

186

DancesWithPumas 03.19.10 at 4:39 pm

If we start listing the bad things the Irish did, then we have to list the bad things the Italians did (Al Capone?)

and if we start listing the bad things Italians did then we’d have to distinguish between Southern and Northern Italians. The divisions are endless.

Do you have any idea what % of Italian immigrants were Southern (Sicily, I assume) versus Northern. All my Italian friends were from Northern regions.

No idea. My family is from Northern Italy. They arrived, stayed for a short period then left, then returned.
Italians were the only nationality to do that. There were two large waves of Italian immigrants… Many arriving in the US for the second time.

I just drove 200 miles only to end up an hour and a half from home.
I was meeeee-yandering.
In an area known as The Champagne Lake area (we’ll have to pee in the boat. ;) )

Lots if stables and large green meadows where horsies are grazing.
I’m on a hilltop right now with a gorgeous view. Thinking about navigating my way up Mt Palomar… home of the famous telescope. Will spend the night there in my mock turtle if I make it up that far.

Anyone ever heard of “traffic calming area” street signs’?
Just saw my first few this afternoon. Interesting term to use.

Stupak is back….NOW sent a call to action at 1 am:

Action needed: Call Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and President Obama

CALL NOW

Pelosi: 202-225-4965

Hoyer: 202-225-3130

White House: 202-456-1111

After taking action, please support our work!

Action Needed:

Credible rumors have it that the Democratic leadership in the House and Senate are cutting a deal with Rep. Bart Stupak to insert the Stupak-Pitts Amendment into the health care bill at the last minute.

TAKE ACTION NOW!

We must pull out all the stops to prevent this deal from becoming a reality. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Call and email Nancy Pelosi’s office. (Yes, do both — her number is 202-225-4965) Tell her the National Organization for Women’s chapters, leaders and activists will move heaven and earth to mount a primary challenge to each and every legislator who got elected claiming to be pro-choice and then turned around and voted for a health care bill under the cloud of a deal with Bart Stupak.

2. Call Steny Hoyer’s office and tell him the same thing — his number is 202-225-3130. But also tell Rep. Hoyer that we are appalled by his cavalier assurance to pro-choice legislators that the women’s groups won’t mind if the Stupak-Pitts amendment is enacted at the last minute. Tell him that, to the contrary, women’s groups mind so much that we will focus on mounting a primary challenge to his re-election in 2010, and failing that, until we get the job done.

3. Call President Barack Obama (either at 202-456-1111, the comments line, or the switchboard at 202-456-1414) and demand that he veto any health care bill passed under the cloud of a deal with Bart Stupak. Remind the president that hopeful, progressive women’s votes got him elected, and that we expect him to stand up for the women of this country — not to look the other way while Congress makes back room deals that could drive women to back alleys!

If the Stupak-Pitts Amendment becomes law, it will deal the worst blow to reproductive health rights in decades. Don’t let this happen. Show our leaders how critical this issue is to so many.

What Could Happen if Stupak-Pitts Becomes Law?

Low- and moderate-income women could be completely prevented from accessing abortion. Who has money to purchase a so-called additional “abortion rider”? Who would even plan to need an “abortion rider”?

Middle-income women could be severely restricted in accessing abortion — even if they are using some or all of their own money to pay for private insurance.

Private insurance companies that currently cover abortion could be discouraged from doing so entirely — because they will have to modify their plans to participate in proposed health exchanges.

We could face new exclusionary battles over birth control and other forms of reproductive health care coverage in the future. Remember, the supporters of Stupak-Pitts oppose contraception as well as abortion rights.

Find more information at http://www.now.org and check back frequently for updates. Thank you for taking action!

firedoglake is also on this:

http://firedoglake.com/2010/03/19/stupak-abortion-language-to-be-substituted-for-senate-language-in-deal-to-secure-health-care-votes/

Stupak is confident that he has the votes to pass the measure, and is happy to have the vote after the House passes the Senate bill. He believes that by using a “tie bar” approach, his amendment would be “tied” to the health care bill — which would require just 51 votes in the Senate.

Pro-choice members of the House, however, are demanding that the vote on the Concurrent Resolution happen before the House confirms the Senate bill. If in fact it passes, they plan to vote against confirming the Senate bill. They want Rep. Diana Degette to release the names of the 41 cosigners to her letter who pledged to vote against any bill that restricts a woman’s right to choose, and they are angry that the White House has been whipping to push through the Stupak deal.

“It is outrageous that a Democratic Speaker, a Democratic Majority Leader and a Democratic President should support rolling back women’s reproductive rights,” says one member of the group.

198

Zee 03.20.10 at 1:18 am

At firedoglake one commenter let it be know that the OBOT SLIME, aka OFA, have sent out HIT PIECE EMAILS on women reps who are trying to hold the line for women’s choice!!!! Here’s one example:

Kelly Canfield March 19th, 2010 at 7:39 pm

I KNEW IT! When I got that OFA email today, whipping on DeGette, I KNEW something creepy was going on. I am beyond frustrated!

http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_14516595

“I want to vote for the bill,” DeGette said. “I helped write the bill. But the one thing we have learned is that we can fix a lot of things later, but if you really give up a woman’s right to choose, you can’t fix that later. That’s gone.”
=======

Where is the spotlight on this????

Susie1945 03.20.10 at 1:57 am

Sorry Zee – I won’t recommend that anyone vote for this POS bill – I hope it fails big time or even by one vote….

Have you read the bill? Where does it say that RoeVWade is tossed? Stupak just wants to make sure that my money does not pay for abortions – works for me – make your insurance company pay -

200

Zee 03.20.10 at 2:13 am

Susie, it’s NONE of your damned business what PRIVATE, LEGAL medical procedure your sister citizen has. You don’t like it? Go live in some Catholic or Islamic society.

Where the HELL did you see I’m for this POS bill? The SHITTIEST part of it is busybodies who want to dictate how their fellow citizens treat their OWN BODIES.

201

Zee 03.20.10 at 2:24 am

And believe me….personally, I want the YOUNG DIPSHITS to pay for their misguided adherence to the swine Obama who is WORSE than they demonize Sarah Palin to be. She is personally pro-life, which I believe is her prerogative, but upholds the law. Zerobama is WORSE. He is coddling and promoting those who would regress woman’s right to her own body.

I would rub the young rubes faces in this regression gleefully…but. When it comes down to slandering congresswomen who are trying to hold to their principles I would hope that ALL PUMAS….who are DEMS by DEFINITION…would race to the side of beleaguered women reps against the machinations of THUG SWINE OBOTS trying to prop up their feeble underhung, I mean, inexperienced Opiccolo leader over the RIGHTS of their sister citizens!!!!

202

Zee 03.20.10 at 2:46 am

Oh, and for crying out loud, all who think I’m attacking Susan “personally” —see all my other posts to her.

This is issue alone and the issue is NOT up for “debate” or for “agree to disagree.” It is cut and dried and you are either on the American side or you should ship out to a religion-run society. Period.

The LAW is that abortion is LEGAL and the issue is that it should be a PRIVATE procedure, no more open to debate than whether we should pay for decrepit old goats to get chemical help to force their penis on others.

In fact, why is Susie arguing OBAMA’S stance? He is the one forcing this REPUBLICAN crap on citizens seeking a legal and should-be-private medical procedure.

So. I’m not surprised that the O-fluffing media and the general public aren’t focusing on this point, but it would be SHOCKING for ORIGINAL STANCE PUMAS not to be outraged by prochoice women reps trying to hold the line for women’s rights and being ATTACKED by OBOTS in WHITE HOUSE OFA EMAIL ATTACKS.

Either you are on the side of WOMEN REPS trying to stand up against Obama in this fight, or….you are more obediently interested in rightwing control of women’s wombs. That’s it in a nutshell.

Zee 03.20.10 at 3:24 am

Just to make it CRYSTAL clear….everyone who has been bashing Pelosi, for who knows what reason, till now…

well, NOW, finally you have a reason. She is on STUPAK AND OBAMA’s side to throw women under the bus:

http://firedoglake.com/2010/03/19/stupak-abortion-language-to-be-substituted-for-senate-language-in-deal-to-secure-health-care-votes/

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made a deal with Rep. Bart Stupak in order to secure his vote and that of other anti-choice Democrats for the health care bill, which is scheduled to be voted on this Sunday. According to a member of Congress who was briefed on the matter, Pelosi has agreed to let Stupak have a vote on his amendment, which instructs the Senate to substitute his language for the Senate language on abortion.

So allllll you people who think you have a reason to withhold “your” money from those who want LEGAL PRIVATE medical procedures?

You’re on the same side as Fraudbama, Nancy and Stupak.

Case closed.

Susie1945,

If you’re worried about how much of YOUR precious tax money might go to end an unwanted pregnancy that threatens the mother and may produce a deformed, abused child — then here are some figures for you.

Here is how much ALL the ‘welfare’ programs take of each tax dollar.

Food stamps 2-cents.
Disability SSI less than 2-cents.
Nutritional programs less than one cent.

Hey all :) I just watched movie “Milk” and I want to send a shout out to all my lesbian sisters and gay brothers and trans/ lovlies…

Movie tugged at my heart. I was sort of conceived in Haight Ashbury (not during “romantic times”). My parents actually got pregnant quite late for the norm, but they both have dark hair and kick their philosophies like kiddos.

Anyway, my earliest family were gay men (among many others)…my mom’s roomies were gay men in San Fran. ALL of my first baby pix involve gay men kissing and hugging me. It actually caused a huge family falling out. Long story you can figure out.

My mom comes from $ & religion. Like that. Then I was born. Parents were world traveled and college educated, but they were friends with “kooks,” ya know. Famous people kissing me in baby pix…”GAY” was my kidhood. Never a problem. Weird strange famous people were in my life since I was young.

Anyway…my love goes out. Can’t say much more, but I thought about the movie…*particularly* in the beginning…BOYCOTTING. uh huh, yes, women control sales/shopping/final say, now. Once organized: wrecking balls.

Opinion: 18 Myths About Health Care Reform Bill Revealed
http://www.aolnews.com/healthcare/article/opinion-eighteen-myths-about-the-health-reform-bill-debunked/19406480

Just one myth posted. . .you have to read the rest. Look at her documentation at the end of the article.

Myth 4: The bill will make health care affordable for middle class Americans.

Fact: The bill will impose a financial hardship on middle class Americans who will be forced to buy a product they can’t afford to use. A family of four making $66,370 will be forced to pay $5,243 per year for insurance. After taxes and basic necessities, this leaves them with $8,307 in discretionary income — out of which they would have to cover clothing, credit card and other debt, child care and education costs, in addition to up to $5,882 in annual out-of-pocket medical expenses for which families will be responsible.

Good morning (((Pumas)))
How to feel great to feeling like shit in less than the blink of an eye:

For the last 3 days I have been in a training class put on by some guy the Ford dealership hires. The class started with 16 people and was narrowed down to 8. On the last day, we were to interview with the owner, individually, then come back upstairs, and wait until everyone was done, then the trainer would meet with the owner to narrow down to hiring 4 people. It was supposed to be done by 1:00. I finally got my interview at 3pm. I walked into his office. To his left was Janice the office manager who does all the paperwork from the sales people. (she was very nice). The minute I shook his limp wristed, lily white, manicured hand, I knew this was going to be an uphill battle. Eyes that were looking thru you, not at you. Went through the tell me about yourself bs, then the well you are new to Indiana and you don’t know that many people, so how are you going to get prospects into the dealership crap. janice was listening the whole time and the only question she asked was how was I with paperwork. I told her I am an insurance agent, so I am quite proficient in handling paperwork. Nothing is done on computers, I guess Indiana has not come into the 19th century yet.
1 1/2 hours later, the trainer returns and takes us one by one to tell us if we have been hired, and if so to sign a 90 day committment for probationary period. I had been hired! Woo hoo I thought to myself, finally a job!
After I signed the commitment paper, He tells me. You need to thank Janice for you getting the job, Paul, the owner doesn’t like to hire women. He has never hired a woman, but I told him ” you were an OLD BROAD, SO YOU WOULDN’T BE OUT TO STEAL WOMEN’S HUSBANDS”. So he agreed to hire you.
I have to tell you, I was so stunned, My first instinct was to just cold cock him and knock his ass out, and leave. Instead, I said ” what makes you assume, it would be the men I would go after”! His jaw dropped open, and I thanked him for the job and walked out! I was so pissed, I didn’t know what to do.
I have to start on Monday. All I can do is try to sell as many cars as I can, and show all those pigs that work there, than women are better than men.
I can tell I am in for a tough 90 days.
