I’m Making A List

by murphy on February 19, 2010

in Bulletin From Planet Dude,Bulletin To Planet Dude,The War on Women

The dudes are absolutely losing their minds. I’m continuing to add to this list of heartwarming vignettes which aptly reflect the mood of the country:

That list is only for Massachusetts. It doesn’t include this, or this, or this.

Follow the IVProject on Twitter (it’s really excellent) to stay abreast of the daily bulletins from Planet Dude wherein they show us Bitches what’s what.

You may ask, what does this have to do with politics. My answer is: Everything. And until we realize that we’ll continue to be treated like the janitors, social workers, and silent sufferers the dudes expect us to be.

The man who shot his horse also shot up his pick-up truck! Oh, the humanity. What would Scott Brown say??

Oh, and for all the Scott Brown groupies, check out TGW. Martha is challenging DOMA from this state. You know. Integrity. Continuing to do the right thing after being thrown under the bus.

so…. the money 1.5 billion that the fraud announced in Las Vegas today is going to the “housing authorities” for each of the 5 states. We all know that is the code name for hud..cough..acorn…cough..cough…
On the same note… the billions that were already given to the banks for “mortgage reconciliation” were hardly touched…only 166,000 loans were re-modified to people who’s homes were/are in danger of being foreclosed on. Most people did not qualify for the re-modifications.

Repost from this am:
Just heard on FOX the war in Iraq will not be callet Operation Freedom anymore. Wait for it…Operation NEW DAWN. Like Obie’s emblem of the rising sun. Trying to make it a complete take over of the legacy. Some people have a LOT of nerve.

This writer doesn’t see the troubling subliminal message I detect?

These people are dispicable creeps.
The more I hear about these cold OBots, the more I like the compassion, strength, poise and superior intelligence of Sarah Palin.
Unreal.

I do not have stats but I do know what I see and deal with daily. Violence against women and their children escalates with the decline of the economy. Fridays formally known as “pay day” is now a crisis in the domestic violence prevention community that is know as “hell to pay day” and the closer it gets to the end of the month the more hell there is to pay.
I stopped posting the where I was tonight here because I felt it was too much to handle for some but if I am silent I do not do her justice. I sit tonight with yet another woman, burned alive, who is a victim of a society that believes she is merely a casualty of a war that rages within. Peace treaty needed.

There is a very well-respected treatment facility in Escondido, California (northern suburb of San Diego). They have inpatient and outpatient, but the inpatient options can be rather long term if the woman so chooses. They do not take insurance, but I understand they have sliding scale fees. It is only for women (and their children if they have any). It is called Serenity House. I sent you an email which has more information on the program.

If you’re going to sleep in a freezer and you forget to turn on your furnace, be sure to wear sox and a hat to bed otherwise you’ll wake up resembling a fragile icicle.

FLB,
Thank you for all the work you do for women. I know from experience that you have to speak about it. You have to write about it. It starts to effect your well being. Just as the victims need support, so do you. We are here for you.

Okay
enough is TOO much!!
Restraining order gets the perp an ankle bracelet.
Woman gets corresponding receiver… When perp is with 1000 ft of the woman… Transmitter warns her and calls the police to his and her locations.
And… Any woman who gets a restraining order also get a gun and gun training and practise at a shooting range…. And a license to carry.

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY- Out of anger and frustration, police claim Walter Breymeier viciously abused his infant daughter, Amelia.

Beginning at the age of one month, Amelia, in July, was taken to Wilkes-Barre General’s emergency room for a “cracking noise” in her back. The infant was also running a fever, according to arrest papers. But prosecutors said the hospital staff never took x-rays that may have revealed ongoing abuse, specifically fresh and healing fractures of numerous bones throughout the infant’s body.

Police say a third visit to the emergency room revealed dozens of fractures and other internal injuries.

Arrest papers claim Breymeier acted on his frustrations, allegedly telling police on one occasion he dropped his daughter on the floor, and another time where it’s said he squeezed her “real hard while he was shaking her.”

During a police interview, detectives claim Breymeier said he sometimes “gets so mad that he sees red and blacks out and doesn’t remember what happened.”

A judge reduced his bail at a hearing Wednesday morning. The case will now move forward to trial.

Prosecutors said they’ll likely try and determine a timeline of the injuries to see if the alleged abuse occurred after the infant was initially brought to the hospital.

Good morning! The sun is actually shining and the weather is mild in PA today. I have my humidifier on and breathing a little easier. Trying to get healthy…

Yesterday at school an odd story in my Corrective Reading lesson brought this issue to light: Some people think that if they have no health insurance they absolutely CANNOT get health care.
The story compared a man’s life as an insurance agent with a survivalist on an island to make the point that there is a difference between needs and comforts. A student made the comment that insurance was a NEED because without it you could not get treatment. Hmmm? I had to tell him you could pay in cash or by check for health care; sometimes use credit or savings; sometimes people even do fund-raisers for expensive treatments for themselves or others. It isn’t ALL about carrying a card.

So, I’ve been thinking about the previous thread and the health care system. It looks to me like the insurance companies are in a win-win situation. Do we have to worry about them? I think they can take care of themselves. They are making themselves indispensable.

Zee 02.20.10 at 9:35 am

I love the shock-anklet idea, but all they’ll be manufacturing are devices that restrict everyone’s freedom, like the “click-n-drive”—a device that doesn’t let a car start if you don’t wear your seatbelt. Completely stupid, because you could just click it underneath you, anyway.

((prplvette)) and ((dances)) :-? My sympathies. Alas, I always wear socks to bed, and sometimes I take my canine “heating pad” too! I just spent about 3 months mortgage on a new furnace and for whatever reason, the heat now barely trickles up to my bedroom! So much for “more powerful.”

Zee 02.20.10 at 9:38 am

((((FL Barbara)))) I could not do what you do. Thank you for the reminder of these women. And, yes, the worse the economy gets, the worse the abuse gets. There was an article on the effect on the family when Argentina’s economy collapsed.
