I’m writing a post about puppies. I don’t particularly LIKE puppies. They bite and chew and whine. Just like babies. But then babies grow up to be beautiful children. Puppies grow up to be, well, DOGS.

Tell Ohio to put a woman in Statuary Hall! You all remember Lynette Long and her tireless efforts to expose the Fraudster’s caucus dirty tricks, right? She has a newish blog and Facebook group called Put A Woman in Statuary Hall. Statuary Hall is the beautiful gallery in the Capitol in which each of the 50 (not 57!) states has niches for two of its great native sons. There are hardly ANY native daughters featured, only 9 to be exact. That makes the Hall 91% men and 9% women. Shabby.
Ohio will soon be swapping out one of its two statues and needs a replacement. Lobby Ohio’s leaders to honor one of Ohio’s many illustrious native women. Long is supporting Catherine Beecher. I feel pretty warm towards Annie Oakley (yes, partly because obama snubbed both Hillary AND Annie when he dismissively referred to one as a silly imitation of the other, but mostly just because Annie Oakley was such a straight-up BadAss.) But I digress. Any of the possible women Long mentions would be excellent.

Ohio State Senate Bill 277 created the National Statuary Collection Study Committee to accomplish the task and present a formal recommendation for a replacement statue to the Ohio General Assembly.
We urge you to choose to honor one of Ohio’s illustrious native women, such as Catherine Beecher or Annie Oakley, when you replace the statue of Governor Allen.

Here’s an interesting postscript to our “discussion” the other day. Obviously, the PUMA-stalkers lurk here. Where else would they get material for their pathetic dedicated stalking sites? Also, what other thrill do they have in life other than being noticed by the women who reject them and their woman-bashing genetic defect?
Anyway, in passing I mentioned Murphy bans them here, and thus they’re compelled by their obsessions to set up the dedicated stalking sites, but over at TGW, egalia doesn’t ban them and so we have mostly one dedicated on-site stalker there. Not judging either site, just comparing.
Well. Pronto a new poster shows up at TGW. In a skirt, no doubt. Immediately smelled the testosterone. What woman praises Viagra, saying why should “we” suffer when our partners, um, peter out…what woman says there are times when it’s justified that we “deploy the claws” against our hubbies and boyfriends? Oh, I should amend that…what self-professed “feminist” says women should “deploy their claws?”
Anyway, s/he was most busted not by that, or by the sexist Palin-bashing, but by declaring “she” wasn’t going to let *PUMAs* tell her how to think.
egalia was posting the same thing long before PUMAs existed, and lost a lot of her long-time posters by being ahead of the curve. Altho I’m sure many PUMAs do swing by and read and/or post there, TGW regulars don’t identify as PUMA, so the PUMA-stalker is sooooo busted. The only way he’d make that mistake was to think we were speaking of a sister PUMA site here, instead of a different kind of sister site.
I know it’s off-topic and/or done-topic in other particulars, but don’t ya just HATE when those trolls have a *wardrobe* malfunction and their ugly man-parts hang out for all to see.

Short version for those who missed the (irrelevant to this) original conversation: I mentioned TGW didn’t censor trolls, and one of the PUMA-stalkers immediately started posting there as a “woman” — was immediately suspect because “she” bashed women, and then was busted as a PUMA-stalker because “she” assumed TGW was a “PUMA” site. TGW pre-dates PUMA, and altho there are many who cross post at PUMA sites, no one there ever identifies as a PUMA, per se.

Maryland Women’s Heritage Center is scheduled to open in March and will be the first state museum to chronicle the history or women. It’s about time!! I can’t wait to call tomorrow and volunteer, already joined as a member on line. Of course, they are trying to get funding and are currently in temporary space. I had my foundation widened to 12″ from the code 8″ and had them do the EQ Retro-fit bolting in the last home I owned up north. That house was in an Earthquake Study Zone. If I was outside (small house, large yards, long driveway) I felt small ones on a weekly (if not more) basis.
Once I was on the phone with a friend in Berkeley when suddenly she said: Whoaaa Earthquake!
Right after I asked her what she was talking about BOOM… felt like a truck hit my house! Musta been a 15 sec or so delay while it traveled south to my area.

Globally, the number of women comprising company boards remains dismally low. But with new legislation submitted to the French parliament this week, that might be about to change.
France’s center-right Union pour un Mouvement Populaire (UMP)–the party of President Nicolas Sarkozy–put forth the legislation to mandate a 50/50 gender makeup of boards of all companies listed on the French stock exchange.
Under the legislation, women would have to comprise 50% of board members by 2015 with companies ramping up their quotas by meeting smaller targets along the way. According to Britain’s Guardian newspaper, women currently comprise just 10.5% of board members in CAC 40 (French stock market index) companies.

The bloger that asked the questions did a investigation on Lacy Clay dealing with pay-day-loans shops etc. This Missouri paper got the story about Mr. Clay from the bloger that interviewed me. I get kind of tired of the attacks on links instead of the story.
As for what I know of the zombies at Act for America; I infiltrated one of their meetings on “health care reform” and brought a bit of harsh reality to their kingdom of Kool-Aide if you remember. It is very much an Obama Cult. Maybe you might want to attend one of their meetings and see for yourself.
You are sure to find people there who long to “experience communism in a perfect world.”

I know that strong feelings pro and con have been expressed here over the tea party movement.
