Vive la France!

in Islam versus Women

In addition to France being awesome, obama falls to -16 today in the Rasmussen daily presidential tracking poll.

“PARIS—A French parliamentary panel will recommend a ban on face-covering Muslim veils in public areas from hospitals to schools but will stop short of pressing for the garb to be outlawed in the street, the panel’s president says. The 32-member panel’s report due Tuesday culminates a six-month inquiry into the wearing of all-encompassing veils that began after President Nicolas Sarkozy said in June that they are “not welcome” on French territory.”

As you know, I am a big fan of France. I guess obama will gave to go over to Paris and explain to Sarkozy that muslim men forcing women to wear shrouds is actually an expression of women’s freedom.

Representative Carol Shea Porter (D. NH) SAYS WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW :
“CONGRESS COULD PASS HEALTHCAR IF WE SENT THE MEN HOME !”

“A female Democratic lawmaker in footage released Sunday said that Congress could pass healthcare reform if female lawmakers “sent the men home.”

Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-N.H.) said that both Republican and Democratic women members of Congress understand how to care for relatives and thus want the healthcare system to change.

“We go to the ladies room and the Republican women and the Democratic women and we just roll our eyes,” she said. “And the Republican women said when we were fighting over the healthcare bill, if we sent the men home…” at which point she was interrupted by loud applause.”

Welcome to the circular firing squad! Ed “Obamabot” Schultz has a meltdown with Robert Gibbs.

Ed Schultz curses Robert Gibbs: ‘Full of Sh*t’
By ANDY BARR | 1/25/10 12:34

MSNBC host Ed Schultz tore into White House press secretary Robert Gibbs and the rest of the Obama team during a speech that eviscerated Democrats for ignoring progressives.

“We have to get these people who have infiltrated the Democratic progressive movement and get them the hell out,” Schultz boomed. “We are still in an ideological fight for this country.”

Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0110/31957.html#ixzz0deGo8EyM

Ummm, not so much, Ed. Actually, it was you and your so-called “progressive movement” who invaded the Democratic Party. So, why don’t YOU get the f*ck out! Oh, and good luck with that fight. You’re doing a hell of a job, Eddie!

11

NikkisMom 01.25.10 at 1:13 pm

Oh the arrogance of this asshole:

Rep. Marion Berry’s parting shot, published in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette [no link, subscription only] offers a warning to moderate Democrats and border state moderates — warning of a midterm bloodbath comparable to the 54-seat D-to-R swing in 1994.

But the jaw-dropper is Berry’s claim that President Obama personally dismissed any comparison between Democrats now and under Bill Clinton 16 years ago — by saying his personal popularity would bail everybody out.

The Obama supporters like Ed Schultz are losing it. Schultz was a conservative until he met his current wife who was a pschologist (I think) working at a homeless shelter. Schultz fell for her, talked to the guys in the shelters because she insisted that on their dates they go by the shelters to do whatever she did at the time. That is why he screams and yells just like Rush Limbaugh and other conservative pundits. Schultz also never stops working to increase his fortune – that underlies everything he does. After being an early and ardent HRC supporter he switched to the ‘winner’ Obama and put everything on the line for him. It paid off at first but is now souring fast. Schultz is in panic mode.

Can you be a ground zero PUMA if you don’t still support Hillary Clinton? Part I.
Yes, it is a rhetorical question. You cannot be an original, ground zero PUMA unless you also support Hillary Clinton because the two are completely intertwined. You can be a conservative PUMA who has moved on and now supports Sarah Palin, that’s fine, but that is not the same as being an original PUMA. (should I add an H for Hillary Clinton and call it PUMAH?)

Lets be clear here, the original PUMA movement was in direct response to the democratic elite in the party not only wanting Hillary Clinton defeated, but actually making sure their coup took place before ALL THE VOTES OF THE REGISTERED DEMOCRATS WERE COUNTED!

One only has to look to the republican leaders to see how out of line the democratic political leaders were in the 2008 election. Late in 2007, John McCain was well under 5% approval on a fox poll, it might have been as low as 2%.

John McCain clearly was not the first choice of the republican higher ups, yet the people, the people of the republican party over time chose John McCain EVEN THOUGH JOHN McCain have virtually no financial support.

The same cannot be said of the democrats, who tried to end the democratic race BEFORE IT EVEN STARTED! When a politician such as Hillary Clinton receives 50% of the popular vote even though the opposition has more than twice the money to spend and has the support of the media, the democratic higher ups, and billionaires such as George Soros, it just may lead to the formation of an independent group of Hillary Clinton supporters who call themselves PUMA’s

Dear XXX

On Wednesday evening, President Obama will deliver his first State of the Union address. It comes at a critical moment.

We must regroup, refocus, and re-engage on the vital work ahead. So let’s watch it together at a State of the Union Watch Party in your neighborhood.

We’ve hit some serious bumps in the road recently in our march toward change. We always knew it would be difficult, but this past week has definitely been a hard one, for all of us.

But this movement didn’t come so far without making it through some challenging times. It’s at moments like these when we need you most. People are hurting. Our country is at a crossroads, and in communities like yours all across America we must all fight for the progress our families and businesses need to thrive.

The President’s resolve has never been stronger to keep fighting for health insurance reform, for lasting job creation, and to rein in the big banks and fight the undue influence of lobbyists. Wednesday’s speech will be a pivotal moment for us all to get on the same page and continue the fight together.

In just two days, OFA supporters like you will be gathering at State of the Union Watch Parties in living rooms and community centers across the country. You can share ideas and experiences — and I’ll be joining on the phone for a special strategy huddle before the speech.

Find and RSVP for a State of the Union Watch Party near you:

http://my.barackobama.com/AttendSOTU

I hope you can join us,

David Plouffe

P.S. — Volunteers have set up hundreds of Watch Parties over the last few days. But if there isn’t one yet near you, just sign up to host one yourself. It’s easy and fun, local OFA organizers will help you with any questions you have, and it’s an incredibly important way to let supporters near you be part of the action:

An example of why British politics can be confusing:

It seems probable from opinion polls that Labour will not win, but will they lose? Will David Cameron do enough to win? That question and more in future installments, but I don’t think that anything can be predicted well at this point.

Tom in Paine says….

Obama’s serial lying catching up with him
If there was anything that anyone following the Democratic primaries could see if they were willing to see what was in front of them, was that Barrack Obama lied on a regular basis about many things.

He lied for 5 consecutive days about his relationship with Jeremiah Wright until new information kept coming out that made each lie unsustainable until he couldn’t lie about Wright any further. That led to Obama, knowing his back was to the wall, to give his speech on race, something his supporters called his “Lincoln Moment” but I called his Eddie Haskell moment after the smarmy ingratiating character on Leave It To Beaver.

…and it goes on…….. http://tominpaine.blogspot.com/

The internet is abuzz this weekend with news that newspapers around the country have published (obviously fake and obviously orchestrated) letters supporting Obama purportedly written by a woman named “Ellie Light” who claims in each case to reside in the area where each newspaper is in circulation. This looks like a DoJ version of the astroturf. Perhaps we ought to run an online contest to see who can find the legal astroturf (and astroturfers) first. (source: American Thinker)

Obama has suspicious number of letter-writing fans named ‘Ellie Light’

Ellie Light sure gets around.

In recent weeks, Light has published virtually identical “Letters to the Editor” in support of President Barack Obama in more than a dozen newspapers.Every letter claimed a different residence for Light that happened to be in the newspaper’s circulation area.

“It’s time for Americans to realize that governing is hard work, and that a president can’t just wave a magic wand and fix everything,” said a letter from alleged Philadelphian Ellie Light, that was published in the Jan. 19 edition of The Philadelphia Daily News.

“I do not write as a representative of any organization,” she said in an e-mail. “The letter I wrote was motivated by surprise and wonderment at the absence of any media support for our President, who won a record-breaking election by a landslide less than 18 months ago, and now, seems to be abandoned by all, supposedly for the infantile reason that he couldn’t make all of Bush’s errors disappear in one day.”

In a Sunday morning e-mail to The Plain Dealer, Light denied speculation that she’s actually President Obama, his wife, Michelle, or National Security Council member Samantha Power.

37

Zee 01.25.10 at 3:46 pm

Ellie Light is definitely a MALE Obot in a “dress” —the obots often use that old Republican chestnut we saw all throughout the Bush era.

And may I say THANKS SO MUCH to all the Obots lurking here, for reducing the previously-known-as-”reality based” community to the ASTRO TURF tactics used by the Bushies.

“Ellie” retorts to a journalist who tried to pin “her” down:

“I’m sure such domesticity and small-mindedness would make Sarah Palin quite proud.”

Gratuitous Palin-bashing? Busted. “Ellie” is a man.

38

antifish 01.25.10 at 3:46 pm

44 BCL….what if…what if the dog’s owner drowned? Was the river in flood stage?
*************************************
The river is usually a dry bed, no water runs through it. With the rain LA has had, water was running that day, wide and rushing but not all that deep, just so deep the dog could not stand up in parts of it, so he found a wall that was submerged and walked along it. The problem was that he kept walking toward the deeper water until they could get him turned around to the shallower water. That’s where he was rescued. I have not heard that anyone drowned in the water. It’s possible authorities don’t know that someone is missing, but no reports about that yet. If he was homeless, that would account for no reports.

Demand CBS Pull Anti-Choice Superbowl Ad

CBS has always had standards for what kind of advertisements it will show — especially during the Superbowl. The network has rejected ads from MoveOn.org, PETA, and the United Church of Christ among others on the grounds that their content is too controversial.

But there’s something wrong with CBS’s definition of “controversial.” This year, the network approved an ad produced by the ultra-conservative group Focus on the Family attacking a woman’s right to choose.

Thanks for the link Shadowfax. Didn’t think I would make it back, but I read hillbuzz.org while the dragonflies supped on nectar.

I like the RICO idea. I hope the hillbuzz guys have a lawyer. This “racist” bullshit has to stop. Racism continues to affect employment – addressing that is all the more difficult when so called Democrats or Liberals waste resources ruining someone who is exercising his First Amendment Rights to talk about campaigns, for goodness sake. I can’t tell you how many people I know who are so angry at the “political correctness” culture and refuse to take seriously real issues because they are so wrapped up in being defensive about what they think they can’t talk about.

I wish these jerks that attacked hillbuzz.org would spend some time improving our employment laws so that when an employee has to hear the use of the n word or a joke about a noose, that alone is enough to establish liability. As it stands, a few racial slurs are not enough to establish a “hostile work environment.” Much much more is required or else you get dismissed without ever going before a jury.

One time a supervisor calls a person the n word should be strict liability. It’s not.

and these losers attack hillbuzz instead of fixing the real problems holding back African-Americans.

Oh, I meant to say hi goandersen – good to see you again.

And Dances, I meant to tell you that I got a kick out of your “haven’t watched tv since May 31, 2008.”

I know what you mean.

Just when you thought you were safe from the HC plan…

Dem leaders unite on health care strategy

WASHINGTON – Democratic congressional leaders are uniting around their last, best hope for salvaging President Barack Obama’s sweeping health care overhaul.

Their plan is to pass the Senate bill with some changes to accommodate House Democrats, senior Democratic aides said Monday. Leaders will present the idea to the rank and file this week, but it’s unclear that they will have the votes to move forward.
———–snip———

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said last week she does not have the votes to pass the Senate bill without changes. Democratic congressional aides, speaking on condition of anonymity because the issue is in flux, said the latest strategy involves using a special budget procedure to revise the Senate bill.

The procedural route — known as reconciliation — would allow a majority of 51 senators to amend their bill to address some of the major substantive concerns raised by the House. That would circumvent the need for a 60-vote majority to hold off Republican delaying tactics.

New Anti-Smog Restrictions Could Warm Planet

The Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal to tighten the ozone standard for smog will have an unfortunate side effect: Because of a quirk of atmospheric chemistry, those measures will hasten global warming.

File this under “Don’t get excited and think “O” is really going to reduce the deficit”.

Officials: Obama will propose three-year spending freeze
WASHINGTON — Looking to signal at least one step toward reining in huge federal budget deficits, President Barack Obama will propose a three-year freeze in non-security discretionary spending, senior administration officials said Monday.

His budget proposal, to be unveiled in part with Wednesday’s State of the Union speech and in detail next week, will urge Congress to keep overall spending at $447 billion a year for agencies other than those charged with national security and mandatory-spending programs such as Social Security and Medicare .
——-snip—-

While the freeze would shave only a sliver from the total deficits over the next 10 years, officials called it an important first step, one they said they hope will lead to others.

We went to see Avatar last night – never saw a 3D before. It was so amazing. So this die hard Obama loving couple we went with, saw my handbag with the “Keep the Change” button and laughed about it. So my husband said,How’s the Hopey Changey thing going for you. Apparently they are still in love – I think if a Green Donkey represented the Dems, they would swear by it as well. We decided not to get into politics to keep the peace and friendship.

You may not have heard about this contretemps, but right now the HillBuzz site has created a dust-up which has become a huge topic of conversation over on Blogostan Right.

I never cared for HillBuzz. I don’t think I’ve ever linked to stories published there. If I have, I’m sorry.

Frankly, I’ve long suspected that the accusation of GOP funding of PUMA was true in the case of HillBuzz. Those guys remain strongly pro-Palin and they love Scott Brown the way Homer Simpson loves donuts. (In other words, they weren’t reluctant “protest” supporters.) Apparently, Limbaugh has cited HillBuzz on his show.

I was hoping Joe Cannon could explain what the hell you all were talking about, but it’s no more clear than any of the references here, or on Hillbuzz itself. Hillbuzz makes me want to vomit with its gushing over Rush Limbaugh and its ranting about “Leftists.” I don’t much care for log cabin Republicans or Libertarians or whatever those guys want to pride themselves as being.

I have no clue what the fuss is. None. And as far as the shadow site that mocks this one…I should be so lucky that I would have nothing else better to do than even look it up. I mean, I begrudge no one else the joy of mocking them, it is a past-time I enjoy myself. But how they could possibly matter is beyond me. Are they a top frequently visited and quoted source for anyone?

So, to answer your question, I couldn’t even make sense out of Cannon’s rundown and said as much on his site. I have no idea what the original fuss is about, and it looked to me as if he himself was still looking for that, as well, as opposed to making an “accusation.”

85

BigCatLover 01.25.10 at 10:03 pm

All Limbaugh did was give the obots a reason to say that dems should not vote for HRC because the repubs would rather have her than Obama. I doubt that his campaign to get his fans to vote for her resulted in very many votes in the primaries for her from repubs. But he likes to pretend that he had a great affect on her vote count. Ego is as big as a house.

Rem Novem, Casper Cat and all the other animal-loving PUMAs…I couldn’t believe some of the comments under that story about Vernon’s rescue.

Dogs are guides for the disabled, fight by the side of humans in war and in crime prevention….did you see that they used dogs to sniff out survivors in Haiti so they would know where to dig?? That was such heart-warming footage, of the dog so excited when he’d sniffed out a survivor!

I can’t believe some people would begrudge this rescue.

I myself try to call “pets” animal companions instead. Feline companion, canine companion…something that more closely conveys what they are. I don’t like the terms “pet” and “owner” — but I’ve yet to come up with anything for “owner” except perhaps “pet parent”—if anyone has any other suggestions, let’s hear them!

I didn’t know there was a movement regarding pets as “property.”

94

BillieJo 01.25.10 at 10:26 pm

Terry Do-
I disagree with part of what Zee said. Read the Hillbuzz page and it says how they came to support who they do. They were strong Hillary supporters, and made some turns to support Palin and they were trashed and some lost jobs and personal losses from the scam blog.

Needless to say, I don’t agree with all the political turns they made, but the same thing happened to other PUMAs and I hope the Hillboyz keep fighting this and it will help all PUMA blogs if this creep is caught.

Doesn’t matter who you support on a blog, you shouldn’t be threatened and hurt by the shadow machine.

Oh, yeah…that brings back some memories…I can’t believe those guys still exist. TGW has resident stalkers…well, one main one…and I guess since these losers aren’t allowed to post here they maintain someplace else to whine and gripe. I can’t wrap my head around people who would be so dedicated to monitoring and mocking a group of people they disagree with, to the point their whole purpose is to obsess over individual online posters on a dedicated site.

I mean, the closest I can come to was the site “mediawhoresonline” but they served the public GOOD by monitoring and mocking major news sources and reporters.

If the purpose of this other site is to annoy, I think oblivion is the most they deserve. Utterly ignore them. If they are tracking people down in person and calling up workplaces, that’s a different matter, but the story has not been presented as such. I mean, they can’t be “stopped” from calling posters “racist” as was suggested upthread here — that may be an issue for discussion and ridicule, but it’s not a criminal offense and why even give them the satisfaction of a reaction?

Why is Hillbuzz even stirring up this shit? Is there something new and different about it as opposed to before, long ago?

100

BillieJo 01.25.10 at 10:45 pm

I take it Zee that you didn’t read their post today.
You will find out that these blogs did contact their jobs, lost work, and more. Did you see how they almost destroyed Jenni last year? I saw it, and believe me, if that had been done to some other woman that wasn’t as strong as Jenni was, they might have gone off the deep end. Seriously, it was one of the most evil attacks on a woman I have seen.

This isn’t just about calling someone a bad name and making fun, it is out to destroy their jobs, their name and their freedom to vote for who they choose.

I won’t mention all the people this blog has trashed here at our den………

101

Zee 01.25.10 at 10:50 pm

BillieJo, what was “threatened?” Specifically? And being called names is not a threat. And the anti-Leftist Limbaugh-darlings claim to have lost jobs…how? Specifically? Claims are easy. The only way to stop bullies is to expose them, so if they have specifics, as opposed to vague claims, they should detail them.

Other than that, from this vantage point it looks as if PUMAs are getting played. And I’m sorry, it’s boring as hell. I’m up for raking Obot fools over the coals for being duped, but only over actual issues such as their wailing when their fraudbama capitulates to Big Pharma, etc.

And it’s one thing to save old Donna Brazile emails telling us to “stop the hate” —- she’s a PUBLIC FIGURE. But if people are combing through old posts to see what anonymous coward called their online persona “racist” come ON.

We’d be better off combing through various sources to find women in Delaware and Arkansas we can field to run for office to replace all the big fat cowards dropping out of the race already. Which I would NOT be surprised is the very type of action that the born-again log cabins over at Hillbuzz hope to derail us from, since goofs has been so on top of that.

102

BillieJo 01.25.10 at 10:55 pm

#103 BilliJo,

That would be no. I went once. When it was FIRST mentioned. Then I read Cannon’s rundown, and it seemed barely worth skimming. So, too little, too late. If I see something specific HERE, other than whining about being called “racists,” it may warrant looking into, but even your post didn’t warrant reading past “Jenni.” Come on. Almost “destroyed” her? That’s giving a bit too much power to juvenile jerks whose only pitiful recourse is to mock someone’s appearance.

Appealing to PUMA emotions in order to DERAIL us from REAL issues is the type of thing that riles me up.

Well, BillieJo, I’m certainly not going to try to convince anyone not to waste their time in petty little catfights with losers who “trash” us…I’ve been trying my level best to ignore the entire tempest in a teapot, but I thought TerryDo’s question was fair and it was directed specifically to me.

I do think it’s a concerted effort to draw PUMApac away from real issues and into the laughing-stock arena of blog wars. Even if the log cabin boyz have valid harassment claims, the only type of thing that would “help” them would be if Jenni or Murphy or any other PUMA had actual stalking against them in real life. Dweebs calling PUMAs, or anyone else, “fat” or “racist” are not the kind of things that have legal significance, and the idea that those are actions that “must be stopped” or even can be stopped is ludicrous.

I’m going to say it’s probably both… they probably thought “O” would be able to save the day and he couldn’t deliver… big ego blow for him. He stood on high in MA and threw tepid support behind her… and the public was not swayed by his speechifying…

I read an article at WAPO this morning by her pollster. Coakley did ask for money from the DNC and the DSCC but was told she didn’t need it. They never imagined the possible loss of Teddy’s seat.

Anyone have a link saying for sure Hillary will not go for a second term as SOS?? I thought I saw it as speculation somewhere, would like to know if it’s a fact.

Three years to go of the Fraud, so hopefully the DNC will be crippled enough by 2012 to scream for Hillary to save the Dem Party.

Thanks for the link to Will’s letter SFPUMA – are you planning to vote Pelosi out, can I stay at your house, change my voting place to SF and vote Pelosi out too? I am in the wrong country right now.

BTW – thanks for posting that Dem leaving in Arkansas, Goofsmom.

Oh crap, I didn’t read what you wrote correctly. The link I posted is her saying she won’t run for president again. Let me go look about SOS. Hadn’t heard that. Sorry. :(

139

BillieJo 01.26.10 at 1:20 am

Anti- that is where she said she was happy with her job and wouldn’t run for Pres. again.

I don’t think she could say anything else in Oct of last year, or she would raise hell with the obots.

She can always change her mind on the Pres.

SF Puma said: I’m actually surpised that the HuffPo posted it. She’s already said she’s not going to serve a second term as SOS. Sooo, Hillary 2012!

Were did you see that SF????

antifish 01.26.10 at 1:21 am

Nope, nothing, BillieJo.

Gotta hit the hay. Good night (((((BillieJo))))).

Nite all.

(((Night, night Anti.))) Sweet dreams.

142

antifish 01.26.10 at 1:23 am

BillieJo,

Did she mean after this four years? Or is SOS a two year thing?

I don’t know Anti, I have never heard that, SFPuma posted it.
She is pretty excited about it and I was hoping she was still around and tell us where she found this out. It would be great news if she has plans to kick out the fraud…but I think it’s too soon for her to announce that without the DNC getting knocked down further??????

149

Puma-SF 01.26.10 at 1:42 am

I’m only finding the same one antifish posted but I am pretty sure that is her plan. We’ll know for sure after the elections this year. He’s a one termer for sure.

150

BillieJo 01.26.10 at 1:44 am

Glad you are here PUMA SF (sorry, I always get your puma name backwards

The link anti posted in 149 says Hillary almost jumped out of her chair to say, “Oh no, I will not be SOS after this 4 years are finished.”

They show other things of Hillary talking, but not that one…I just want to be sure before I get excited.

Okay, I am hoping the same thing that she dumps his administration…she has done a great job and I feel better having her there, but I want her to move up the ladder, she has paid her dues.

152

BillieJo 01.26.10 at 1:47 am

Thanks Anti and PUMA SF, Hillary needs to be the woman that busts though that glass ceiling. She is the one that has worked so hard to earn it.

153

BillieJo 01.26.10 at 1:48 am

Night PUMAs. Keep up the good fight.

Oh, I wish I had gone to bed instead of reading…now PUMAs will wake up to more ISLAM SUCKS:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/bangladesh/7073191/Rape-victim-receives-101-lashes-for-becoming-pregnant.html

A 16 year old girl was raped and then the Islamic pig “elders” issued a fatwa until the family handed her over to be lashed 101 times for becoming pregnant out of wedlock!

Just try to guess how they treated the rapist. Give up?

“Her rapist was pardoned by the elders.”
