I was reading the morning paper and wondering why a man who attempted to rob a bank got 25 years I’m jail and a 26 year old bastard who molested a 3 year old precious baby girl got only 8 years. He will be 34 when he gets out she will be only 11 years old.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will ask Congress for an additional $33 billion to fight wars in Afghanistan and Iraq on top of a record $708 billion for the Defense Department next year, The Associated Press has learned — a request that could be an especially hard sell to some of the administration’s Democratic allies.

The extra $33 billion in 2010 would mostly go toward the expansion of the war in Afghanistan. Obama ordered an extra 30,000 troops for that war as part of an overhaul of the war strategy late last year.

Military officials have suggested that the 2011 request would top $700 billion for the first time, but the precise figure has not been made public.

The administration also plans to tell Congress next month that its central military objectives for the next four years will include winning the current wars while preventing new ones and that its core missions will include both counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations.

That is 100% true. In fact, that is part of my mission in my coming career. I’m starting some volunteer work at a place where they have groups for teenage girls to educate them about domestic violence and sexual abuse. Their mission is to empower young women before they get caught in the vicious cycle.

Most attempted murder incidents are called “domestic disturbances”, (as if termites in the wall are making too much noise in the home) and hardly any attention is given to them by police. That’s what happened to me, and maybe it is so because there are soooooooooooo many of them that the cops have grown thick skins, or do the same to their own wives?

No shade tree mechanics I’m aware of. I am getting a second opinion on part of it. The part that cost $540.00. Hoping this other guy can help. He has a small garage in town so he might be able to. The rest is tires and things like that.
One of the things that happened- crazy-
My back windshield has a windshield wiper that has it’s own fluid. I pushed the button the other day and all the BLUE wiper fluid came pouring through my dome light on the inside of the car! The line had snapped!
But that was only $40.00 of the repair.

I understand. I’m just thinking of a lot of middle class girls and even rich ones that are so clueless. I have a niece that was raised in an uppermiddle class home. Family had pretty much money. But… her mom, my sister, is really screwed up and made a lot of poor choices and so my niece in turn has followed in her footsteps and goes from one abuser to another. Really sad but she just doesn’t get it, no matter how much I try to hammer things in her head. She actually says, I’d rather be with whatever guy she’s with than be alone. So frustrating!

Was watching a tv show on Islam yesterday (yes, I was bored) and they did a segment on an earlier version of the Koran that was found and translated by someone using a pseudonym that said some dots were in a different place in the earlier version and it meant that a Muslim man would not be rewarded with seventy some maidens/virgins, but actually it said rewarded with cool moist grapes. Then it showed the cloths used in some Muslim ceremonies that had grapes embroidered on them. So the whole virgin thing is a mis translation.
