Turns out that this jackass, Hentoff (who, by the way, is 100% correct about the “Death Panels” (Sarah Palin didn’t lie!!) and the torture, and the spying on American citizens) is also ardently pro-forced-pregnancy, which seems quite a large blind spot for someone whose embrace of civil liberties is so wide as to make him opposed to ALL hate crime legislation, but I’m sure he has a “reasoned and rational” defense based on “facts” to support his support of the oppression of women, but regardless of all that, here’s a proposal for those who want to force women to remain pregnant:
- Make abortion illegal in all cases except for the life of the mother or fetus.
- Require fathers of children conceived in cases where the mother WANTED an abortion to earn at least 400% of the U.S. poverty level and turn over 30% of that income to the mother for the raising of each unwanted child, whether the parents are married or not.
- The penalty for not paying $30,000 a year per child to the mother of your children (whether the parents are married or not) is a minimum of 5 years in jail. If a father cannot earn that much money he will be required to work 40 hours a week at a state-run work camp to pay back his (literal) debt to society, because the State will pay the $30,000 per year to the mother if the father truly cannot earn it. Deadbeat Dads who CAN afford to pay but don’t will go to jail FOR LIFE where they will work in work camps.
- Abandoned single mothers and widows who registered for a “Hardship Abortion Pass” and were denied by the State will receive payment of $30,000 per year, per unwanted child.
- State funded Adoption Centers with the highest standards of care will be open to ALL mothers of unwanted newborns to drop off at any time in the first six months of life. Children from these “orphanages” will have their medical care, health insurance, and college tuition paid for 100% by the state, for life, even if they are adopted.
I kind of like my idea. If the State can force women to be parents when they don’t want to be, why shouldn’t they also be able to force men to be fathers to their unwanted offspring?
I for one wouldn’t mind seeing Levi Johnson’s ass in jail.

Regarding nullification and health care, there’s already a growing movement right now. Led by Arizona, voters in a number of states may get a chance to approve State Constitutional Amendments in 2010 that would effectively ban national health care in their states. Our sources here at the Tenth Amendment Center indicate to us that we should expect to see 20-25 states consider such legislation in 2010.

Personally, I think the way to health care reform is to force the private health care insurance industry to go non-profit to operate, as was provided in HR 676. It makes no sense for people to profit off others’ suffering. Not to say docs and nurses should not make a good living -they should – but these bureaucrats who get bonuses for having coverage rescinded once one of 1400 expensive conditions is reported, after accepting premiums without initiating a fraud investigation, are abominable.
At the very least, there should be an intentional fraud standard on health care coverage being rescinded. The CEOs told Congress they would not accept that voluntarily, but do you hear any legislation on this? No.
I think we should get the same damned health care plan as those losers we elected to Capitol Hill, and we can all pay for it. After all, we pay for their health care even though we would probably like to assault some of them.

Already received letters from both of my son’s Insulin Pump suppliers that the cost WILL go up under new bill(medical device chgs)..GREAT..just Great!!
He lost insurance 1 1/2 ago, and have been fighting for Medicaid for almost a year. Already paying out almost $600 a month to KEEP him alive…so the BS, HC bill is going to cost me more!!!!

Thanks, goanderson. I will simply opt out of the plan because there is absolutely no way I can afford it. Yup, every single state in this union should work to nullify the hc bill in 2010. (I think they ought to apply the concept to crap n tax and every other POS bill that Congress is ramming down our throats!) Even if a state doesn’t nullify hc, I think every citizen should simply refuse to take part. If every state refuses to take part, and/or if every citizen refuses to take part, where will ‘deathcare’ get its funding? I also agree with the preventive care/alternative care cooperative idea. If ‘deathcare’ finally passes, most hc professionals will likely be either woefully underpaid or flat out of work. The cooperatives would be a great way for them to continue their work. Besides refusing to take part in ‘deathcare,’ I think every citizen should refuse to take part in the census, and refuse to pay taxes, until such time as our representative form of government and adherence to the U.S. Constitution are fully restored.

It is a challenge, and have added 2 more..a woman in her late 40′s who just had a double radical mastectomy with a mentally handicap daughter (11yrs)…..Sad story, is a Special Education teacher, on medical leave and paying Cobra Ins (a must) which is most of her 60% salary.
Don’t get me started on how screwed up things are for the middle class working poor… Woman!
Most of all they are not eating T-bones or lobster..more hamburger and chicken…but they are eating.
Tonight they are having either..spaghetti & garlic bread..soup & griddle cheese sandwiches..chicken & rice or chicken, rice & veg.
That is what I dropped off today.
Lucked out and got 10lbs of chicken quarters with a $5 purchase coupon membership. Will be buying more Wed. And got 24 cans of Campbells soup for $7.99 a case (.33 a can)
It is not gourmet by any means, but will fill the belly, and I sleep better at night, knowing I did something, no matter how little to help.

Agree, goofs! That would be the plan! Impeach BO/Biden, Pelosi, Reid, and all others who’ve colluded to obstruct, subvert necessary investigations into vital matters of national security. The available facts about this most recent failed terrorist attack make it clear that the safety of this country’s citizens are of no concern to BO/Biden and the Obamacrat Congressional leadership. This terrorist should be held in a military prison, not a civilian one. His was an attempted act of war against the United States. Like the Ft. Hood shooter, and like the 9/11 co-conspirators, he should be tried in a military tribunal, and receive military punishment. Same goes for any others committing or attempting to commit terrorist acts of war against the United States.

I had dinner there some years ago when my son and I did our first and only holiday trip to Manhattan. We had a blast, did the entire tourist thing complete with Broadway show (Phantom), Jockey Club, The Plaza, Empire State, Statue of Liberty, the works. I’m sad to learn that one of the city’s most picturesque, historic restaurants is shutting down, and like the guys at hillbuzz, I’d like to know the reason why. Thanks.

Having to take 5 flights in a month and a half for us is stressful enough without a new terror threat. Not to mention, that plenty of people would not be flying to the trade shows after this scare. CJK – We have been to Tavern on The Green (NY) once… came upon it by accident this past Summer and had wine and cheese there. Very neat place. The gift store buyer loved our products but was too busy to place an order so now, it is moot. No idea why it is closing.

Sad that so so many ‘icons’ of American life seem to be falling by the wayside. This country is definitely headed in the wrong direction. Deb 55… if you have driven by the San Joaquin valley, you would be extremely sad to see it wallowing into nothing just for the said 2inch fish. The farmers have been imploring Obama to do something since a year ago when he took office.
Apparently the lives of 40,000 American farmers are not worth that of a 2 inch fish. Why is it only Fox Channel is banging the same old drum but no one else that matter really cares. I suppose when like they say, everyone is eating grown in China vegetables that we will question.. er..what happened here, folks.
Personally, I have rattled my own gong. Twice I have made a big stink at Wholefoods asking to speak to the manager, why they are carrying Organic garlic from Chile,China and Peru when we grow garlic in California (Gilroy). I refuse to buy food from 3rd world countries if I can help it. I don’t know if it worked but a couple of months ago, they started carrying California garlic. Wholefoods is a pricier health/organic grocery store but I think they are trying to get cheaper stuff from 3rd world countries to increase profits, maybe, I don’t know. But I really think the America as we know it, is being slammed on all fronts because of lilly livered,bleeding heart idealists who think they are cutting edge progressives.

I am in Fl, so have not seen the aftermath of destruction, but have been following this for months.
Heartbreaking on all fronts on this one..the farmers..the people who need jobs..the land (becoming a dust bowl)..us the food buyers, etc.
My son says it is a trade deal that was made for the money we owe China..must buy produce from them.
Sounds crazy, I know, but everything sounds crazy these days.
We had something similar here in Florida..a weed..high in cellulose..could be harvested 4 times a year..grows in any climate (even swamps & the everglades)..and Great for bio fuel..yet they paid the farmers to grow corn..raising food and meat prices (due to feed cost), and are selling it to China. They are purchasing it as we speak…several countries are and it grows wild here.
Guess it would have been too beneficial and effcient, and enough people could not make enough money off of it????
It is always about the money in some shape or form!
