Lou Dobbs leaving CNN, says the Free Press is dead:
“Issues are now defined in the public arena by partisanship and ideology rather than rigorous empirical thought and forthright analysis and discussion,” he said. “I will be working diligently to change that as best I can.”
How long before Dobbs announces his new contract with Fox? 10, 9, 8, 7 . . .
A “deteriorating” war effort in Afghanistan continues to, well, deteriorate.
Speaking of which, THIS is an excellent graphic representation of the War that Dare Not Speak Its Name (the war against Islam that is). The Five Ages of Al Quaeda.

They caught this guy, but probably too late. This guy too.
Bright side story: Homeward Bound: Military dog missing in action for 14 months finds her way home.

And Dragonfly was busy all this early morning updating the Woman Lynching forum. Not a pretty sight. But one of those things you really ought to see.

Here’s the lineup for Lou Dobbs radio show today on from 2-4 pm eastern. You can stream him live on the computer or check his list of radio stations across the country. Look at the last paragraph on the guest lineup list below.
http://www.loudobbs.com/
Independent America, today promises to be an interesting day on your radio dial…make sure to tune into the broadcast today to hear much more from Lou on his decision to part ways with CNN.
And much more ahead on today’s broadcast: Mr. Independent continues to analyze and discuss the tragic shooting at Fort Hood, asking why nobody in the national liberal media or this administration wants to talk straight and call it an act of terrorism. Senator Harry Reid schedules debate on the health-care bill — will ObamaCare pass the Senate by the end of the year, or will the deadline be missed? All that, and your voice, your views: 877-55-DOBBS.
Joining Lou in the Independent Nation on Thursday will be best-selling author and noted pollster FRANK LUNTZ. Luntz will weigh in on health care, Fort Hood, and how President Obama is handling his duties.
BILL DONOHUE, president of the Catholic League, will respond to Democrats who think the Stupak amendment restricting federal funding for abortion will be removed from health care legislation.

I see from your link Murphy that CNN is replacing Dobbs with John King, not Kitty Pilgrim who would sit in for Lou and do his show every Friday and any other time he wasn’t there. Wonder if she was even asked if she wanted to take over the show.

Kitty Pilgrim huh? what a freaking name! I never heard of her, but your reference reminded me of Billy Pilgrim in Slaughterhouse Five, so I looked it up thinking maybe this Kitty person had taken a professional name from the book. Which leads me to the random observation that Kurt Vonnegut was ferociously anti-war. He also served in WWII, was captured by the Germans and survived the firebombing of Dresden as a POW.

Democratic Leadership Would Not Allow Votes on 11 Amendments Requiring Congressmen to Enroll in Gov’t-Run Health Plan
Critics of the health care bill said they offered the 11 amendments – including some that would require the president, vice president, and Supreme Court justices to give up their Federal Employees Health Benefit Program (FEHBP) to enroll in the ‘public option’ or Medicaid – to showcase the problems with the massive legislation.
“If Congress forces our constituents into a public option plan over time, then members of Congress should be expected to do the same,” Rep. Howard McKeon (R-Calif.) told CNSNews.com.
“This is one of those classic hypocritical moments for the Democrats,” Matt Lavoie, spokesman for Rep. Wally Herger (R-Calif.), told CNSNews.com. “They simply don’t want to put up with the public option that they are preparing to inflict on the American public.”

Why don’t they want to mandate for themselves and families what they are forcing on all other citizens?

Kitty Pilgrim is a very professional, serious journalist, not at all what her first name would imply. Let’s just say she would never be accepted as one of the Fox tv Barbi show hosts. Not young enough, not blonde enough and not confrontational at all.

Wow, listening to the Thomas Sowell interview – 45% of doctors said that if the health care bill, as it currently exists, passes then they would consider retiring or withholding services.
That’s a scary, high figure. Say ‘hello’ to long waiting lists to see a doctor.

thanks for the link. She dodged the question all right. The only thing good about her answer was the info about people getting a subsidy to buy the insurance if they can’t afford it. Wonder what it takes to prove you can’t afford it and what that means? It may be assumed to be affordable in situations where it is truly not.

Lou Dobbs’ departure from CNN after 27 years is cause for great concern.
Dobbs has been hounded and defamed by angry leftist groups who have distorted his positions on illegal immigration (see Loudobbs.com for clarification of his positions.)
He advocated for a return to upholding the immigration laws that for years have been ignored.
Illegal immigration has increased by approximately 1000% since the last deportation efforts, which took place over 50 years ago under “Operation Wetback.”
Dobbs says the US should enforce it’s laws and police it’s borders.
For this he was made a villain by groups like La Raza, Southern Poverty Law Center, Presente.org, and other groups advocating for open borders and open immigration.
Dobbs has called on Americans to reject both major parties and register as Independants.
He has criticized both George W. Bush, and most notably, Barack Obama.
As a result he has been called out by name by none other than Obama himself.
Some of the groups pushing for Dobbs to be fired are the same groups that pushed for Obama to get elected.
Ironically, some of the loudest and most organized are church groups with tax exempt status.
Dobbs’ radio show has become increasingly controversial.
Over the past few months the radio persona contrasted sharply with the CNN persona.
It was becoming more and more clear that Dobbs’ TV show was being heavily censored and that CNN was under pressure to cancel it.
It’s not clear that Dobbs will go to Fox.
His centrist goals may not be served working for a major network-he is trying to sow seeds of a much needed rebellion-not cheerlead for Republican candidates.
If the left succeeds in further slandering and defaming this brave and outspoken man we are really in trouble.
There is truly a movement to destroy him-not because he’s radical or evil or crazy-but because he is intelligent and influential, and has refused to become a tool of the government.
Support Lou Dobbs:
http://www.loudobbs.com
I don’t personally agree with him on every issue but he is beholden to no one-he is truly about the people.
One of the last warriors.
His announcement last night should strike fear in every one of us.

A good, simple read: From RICKI LIEBERMAN: GO! GO! GO !
All
How very kind of Senators Joe Lieberman and Blanche Lincoln to be so concerned about the consequences of a public option or a single payer option. How courageous of them to say that they will protect us by not allowing a vote on any health care reform with a public option.
But wait. Aren’t they both enrolled in a single payer, public option plan, the Government Employees Health Plan? Could they be hypocrites?
Some weeks ago I wrote:
• Every member of Congress, the President and Vice President and every federal employee receives health care through a taxpayer-funded single payer “public option”. Why are so many of them so intent on denying the same possibility to the rest of us? And why are we so complacent about their hypocrisy?
• Each beneficiary of the publicly funded Federal Employees Health Program who opposes a public option should be called out and exposed for hypocrisy in denying to others what they have for themselves, and in some cases, rabble rousing to cynically confuse their constituents about the role in government in the health care system.
I also wrote, mistakenly as several of you pointed out, that “these same hypocrites have exempted themselves from Social Security…”. Mea culpa. Wrong. In 1984, hounded by their constituents, the Congress voted to come into the Social Security system. So, I brightened up. It can be done. Our public servants can be cajoled and humiliated into doing the right thing.
As with Social Security, we must find a way to make the Congress accountable about health care. Why should they be entitled to a system not available to every American?
And Obama advocated this approach during the campaign.
Let us all take a step back. Congress should get behind universal health care so as to both spread the risk and lower costs, while recognizing health care as a basic right. It should be motivated by the needs and welfare of citizens, not protectionism for the private insurance companies. It should massively attack waste fraud and abuse just as we have targeted and reduced violent crime in our cities. It should address the areas which distort health care costs: the first six and last six months of life; the price of prescription drugs; chronic diseases and conditions; defensive testing; malpractice insurance; emergency room-as-doctor; and bloated administrative costs.
A Congress dedicated to these outcomes would forge a system which quickly expands several existing components to cover all Americans with a basic competitive package of preventive and medical services, capped administrative costs, and system wide cost and performance targets through:
Medicare for all
The Federal Employees Health Plan, open to all
Existing employee plans through private insurance
Medicaid
VA

Hey PUMAs – just throwing my 2 cents in – which is about all I’ve got left these days – I truly hope they throw out this whole fluckin’ health care/reform bill and start over from the beginning – it’s a POS big time – after my experiences with trying to sign up for Medicare (which covers nothing that I need) and trying to find the Medicare Advantage Plan (which would cover vision & dental which I would like)in my area – gotta say – this is just frustrating to the max – (the website has so much crap that by the time I typed in my password & ID – there were 6 emails in my account box – stupid ones too) – the site asks for my zip code & can’t even get me into the right state – then I type in my city – no plans in my area – I try for my doctor – not even on the fuckin’ list – oh yeah – let’s get that public option by all means becuz the government works so well – I worked for state government for 17 years and it was mostly a joke now that I think back on it – biggest bunch of time wasters and money losers – no wonder states are all in the hole – people belong to unions and I did also for many, many years – there is a set core of people who do all the work and take up the slack for the rest who just put in the time and do shit – I’d rather take my chances with private – at least there if you don’t do the job – they fire your ass & hire someone else….

“The denial, the submission, the excuses, the dodging, the self-flagellation, the shame — the deceiving of the American people by the media, the military, society, law enforcement, authorities and politicians, all the way up to and including the White House — amounts to the enforcement of Shariah law.
Shariah law forbids criticism of Islam. And here we are.
We are witnessing an Islamized America. This is well beyond political correctness. We are enforcing Shariah law. We will not insult Islam — that is Shariah law. We self-censor — that is Shariah law. We disrespect ourselves and our nation so that we might respect Islam. This is dhimmitude. We should be raging; we should be outraged. We should be strategizing for this worldwide conflict. We should be debating about which leader will best handle Islam’s war on the West. And yet we have not one leader who begins to understand the conflict — that’s how feared the subject matter is. Not one leader.”

Rodearmel challenging Hillary Clinton’s constitutional eligibility to serve as Secretary of State [Rodearmel v. Clinton, et al., (Civil Action No.09-171) (D.D.C.)]. Following oral argument on September 16, a special three-judge panel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia dismissed the challenge on October 29th, ruling that Mr. Rodearmel lacked “standing” to bring the lawsuit. The panel did not rule on the constitutional merits of the lawsuit.

I want to know why no one in the media, not even CNN is is addressing this…his life was threatened as a CNN talk host. Where can Lou Dobbs be safe if not in his own home ? Only when he quits talking about sensitive matters like immigration ? Sounds like it doesn’t it.

Feds Prepare to Seize Four Mosques, Office Building Suspected of Iranian Ties
NEW YORK — Federal prosecutors Thursday took steps to seize four U.S. mosques and a Fifth Avenue skyscraper owned by a nonprofit Muslim organization long suspected of being secretly controlled by the Iranian government.
In what could prove to be one of the biggest counterterrorism seizures in U.S. history, prosecutors filed a civil complaint in federal court seeking the forfeiture of more than $500 million in assets of the Alavi Foundation and an alleged front company.
The assets include Islamic centers in New York City, Maryland, California and Houston, more than 100 acres (40 hectares) of land in Virginia, and a 36-story office tower in New York.

Puma-SF 11.13.09 at 2:14 am
CJK: It was last year. If she wants to make a run at Pelousy she needs to step it up.
goofs: The repubs need to step up their game if they truly expect to win. They didn’t even show up for McCain. If he’s too liberal then we are in a lot of trouble. Where is the common ground?
CJK 11.13.09 at 2:19 am
Puma-SF 11.13.09 at 2:14 am
Seems the disastrous economy has changed the mood of the country quite a lot. That may be the ‘common ground’ — fiscal conservatism, lower taxes, smaller government, reining in government spending, supporting small business. Pelosi has a 34 percent performance approval rating among Californians.
goofsmom 11.13.09 at 2:24 am
Puma-SF,
Yep, but I really don’t want that many Repubs to win either… Just want more women. Both party’s suck and don’t give a flying flip about women or women’s rights. We need more women to get ERA and some sanity and common sense in DC
Puma-SF 11.13.09 at 2:26 am

I just read over at Hillbuz that Soros is putting a lot of money inot getting his people elected to SOS in every state.
—————————————————————-
George Soros owns the Despotcrap party.
Back in Sept. of 2008 SNL had the courage to do a CSPAN skit incriminating Soros, Herb and Marion Sandler plus Pelosi and Frank. It seems that shortly after that, George Soros put the fear of Satan into the SNL writers and they edited the video on their website. They have been his humble little servants ever since.

Juliette 11.13.09 at 2:31 am
It seems Rachel Maddow has a crush on Major Nidal Malik Hasan.
I just had to catch a few minutes of that train reck known as MSNBC. Maddow, Nov. 12 2009, went into a rage and mocked every journalist, news show host, Senator and Military personel who dared to call Major Hasan (SoA)= Servant of Allah, a terrorist.
I hope she scared off the last five MSNBC viewers.

Puma-SF 11.13.09 at 2:26 am
Is Walsh a social conservative? I didn’t really get that from the web site, but I know nothing about her other than what I read on the site.
There must be some R’s who are fiscal conservatives and social liberals, aren’t there???
Puma-SF 11.13.09 at 2:38 am
It’s hard to figure out exactly what they believe in. I like Whitman because she claimed to be pro-choice and I’m pretty sure Walsh claimed that as well but you can’t find any info to confirm that now. It seems anything regarding reproductive or women’s rights has been scrubbed. There must be fiscal conservative and social liberal candidates out there. We just have to find them.
CJK 11.13.09 at 2:43 am
Juliette 11.13.09 at 2:31 am
Perhaps Maddow’s been ‘islamicized’! Will we now ask that our fast food orders be ‘islamicized’ instead of ‘supersized’? Does that mean the food will make us really hateful of each other, abhorrent of pork and always bowing toward the East??? I always knew there was something quite ‘mad’ about Maddow… (Oops, did I really say such silly things out loud? It’s late and it’s been a long day and a long 10 months…BO outrage combat fatigue has definitely set in…)

Hi CJK!
I don’t know why I subject myself to the insanity over at MSNBC. I just searc the networks from time to time in hopes of finding some sense of sanity. CNN, MSNBC, CBS, N.Y. Times are still full blown Arabists. I wonder if they realize how much they all have in common with the Bush Clan.

Apologies, Juliette. I didn’t mean to be flippant. I just can’t stand Maddow and haven’t been able to stand watching her for even a minute for many months. Her slavish devotion to BO causes her to apply all manner of contorted logic to important issues to align her viewpoint with the Fraud’s propaganda and agenda. Also agree with Puma-SF that Maddow’s just another LGBT sellout. Sad. I avoid tuning in to MSNBC at all costs. Perhaps Maddow did manage to frighten away its last few viewers.
