“Since Mackenzie Phillip’s public confession on Oprah, counselors have seen a jump in people (women and girls?) seeking help for abuse and incest. Between September 22nd and 24th the Rape, Abuse and Incest Network (RAINN) says its hotline had a 26 percent increase in call volume, and their hotline had an 83 PERCENT SPIKE.
Meanwhile, the bad news is I can’t write like Violet Sox. The good news is — she can. Also, she’s passing the Blegging Bowl, so if you have a few samoleans to spare and like what she does (and who doesn’t?) you know what to do.
