On Friday, Amanda Fortini wrote a pretty good article about what seems like a Free Pass for Sexism if the perpetrator has good cred with the Liberal Democrat Establishment.
“If there was any question that a stubborn strain of old-school sexism persists in Obama’s America, one has only to look at certain leaders of what the right wing loves to call the “liberal media” but which is sounding and acting, recently, more like the frat-house media. There, like a virus hiding in the body before, perhaps, staging a comeback, misogyny has found a place to lurk almost undetected, at least by the usually sharp eyes of progressive feminists.
Examine the symptoms of this infection, beginning with David Letterman’s comments (widely noted but insufficiently analyzed) about Sarah Palin “buying makeup at Bloomingdale’s to update her slutty flight attendant look,” as well as his joke about Palin’s teenage daughter: “Sarah Palin went to a Yankees Game yesterday … during the seventh inning stretch, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.” (Letterman insists he was talking about her 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, who actually had been, well, knocked up, not her 14-year-old, Willow, the daughter who attended the game.) A week before these remarks aired, there was an uglier outbreak of the contagion in the pages of Playboy — never a bastion of egalitarian forward thinking, but still – where writer Guy Cimbalo published a list of 10 conservative women he’d like to “hate fuck,” a term that various observers interpreted as rough sex, sex tinged by rage, or rape. (Gabe Winantwrote for Broadsheet about the ”Hate Fuck” story, which has since beenyanked by Playboy.) Worse than the violence of the general sentiment was the graphic specificity of the “Hate Fuck Rating” appended to each woman — a list that included Michelle Malkin, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Dana Perino and Laura Ingraham. On Hasslebeck: “You’d be better served sucking off Regis Philbin.” On Malkin: “Worse than fucking Eva Braun.”
Both cases were met with a tepid response from the left. Though Letterman apologized on Wednesday’s show (see video below), his tone was mock-serious, and his audience chuckled along.”
I responded to Fortini’s article with a letter she may or may not read.

The Democratic supporters of Hillary Clinton are not at all surprised by the so-called Liberal Left’s silence on rampant sexism and misogyny by left-leaning entertainers, public officials, and writers. We’ve been blogging about the sexist abuse for over a year now. First the Blogger BOIZ tried to silence us with ridiculous accusations of Racism and being Republicans, our life-long Democratic Party affiliations nothwithstanding. When that didnt work and we wouldnt sit down and shut up, then the REAL ugliness began. The level of pure misogyny and hatred spewed by obama supporters at women who failed to share their enthusiasm for their lightweight candidate is beyond belief.

The bloggers at Democratic Underground thought the Sarah Palin Voting Machine, which showed an OB-GYN table complete with stirrups morphed with a voting booth, was HILARIOUS. The image was directed at Puma women who refused to support Obama’s illegitimate primary “win.” The caption on the photo got the most appreciation: “You Vote With Your Vagina, So Why Not Let Your Vagina Vote For you? The 2008 Palin Vaginal Voting System! Order Yours Now and Help SNATCH Defeat From the Jaws of Victory!”
We stand up for Sarah Palin and protested Ciambalo’s DISGUSTING piece in Playboy, as well as Letterman’s offensive “humor” not because we support Palin political views (we don’t) but because sexism and misogyny by the mainstream media against ANYONE is ALWAYS wrong. Hillary Clinton last year, Sarah Palin this year. Next year who will be the target? If we dont oppose sexism ALL the time we will NEVER succeed at banishing it from acceptable political discourse.

Perse – his statements are always weak and stupid – follows – they (whoever the hell they are) always say he’s so intelligent – maybe – but he sure is stupid…………
As for littleman – too little, too late – he needs to apologize to more than just Sarah Palin and her family at this point – until he says it on TV, in print or whatever – boycott will continue – my snail mail letters are in process – copied the list from hillbuzz – word does mail merge so just have to typein the addresses…………………..

Canada has “concerns” of voting irregularities in Iran. My heart bleeds purple jesus juice for the asshat politicians up here who didn’t blink twice when Obama and his team of thugs were creating every irregularity in the book. Dancer charged with sex assault at men’s strip club
A Toronto man is facing charges in connection with a sexual assault that happened at an Etobicoke strip club early Sunday.

A 31-year-old woman was at the Foxxes Den men’s stripclub on The Queensway with a group of friends. It is alleged that one of the dancers led the woman to the basement of the building and sexually assaulted her. The victim contacted police.
Domenic Antonelli, 35, is charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement. Police believe there may be other victims.

I owe you and Dragonfly an email, oh what am I saying, I owe half the people I know emails. Will get them done this week.
Btw, one night at work a few of us stayed late and I told them about the cell phone programme for abused women. They were really interested in it and they’ve been bringing in their old phones. I should have about 30 when all is done. And our company provides everyone with a blackberry, so from now on when the contracts run out on them, they’re going to give the blackberry to me to send as well. Thank you again for that suggestion, it’s definitely an area where Puma’s make a difference.
