We are apparently getting through to the Dimwits the fact that we are PAYING ATTENTION. It’s time the obots woke up and realize that beyond a shallow, fleeting, and vicarious feeling of brotherly love (and I DO mean “brotherly”) that swept the Boiz’ hearts on November 4th, President O’Logo really and truly has no sweeping MANDATE. His will be the MOST scrutinized presidency in history. The depth of disgust and ill-will the country as a whole felt for the Bush Administration has not yet been plumbed. Hopium Addicts, including of course the entire clueless Washington press corps, were willing to fool themselves into believing (as immature addicts always do) that obama’s win meant something beyond “ANYONE BUT BUSH AND HIS PARTY” to the rest of us. We really don’t like o’logo that much. Sorry, dudes.

does this guy out-barack obama?

“The stylistic and philosophical implications of the choice became even clearer when Mr. Steele appeared before House Republicans at a retreat on Saturday. Mr. Steele celebrated their refusal to give Mr. Obama a single vote for his economic recovery plan — albeit in language that was perhaps a tad eyebrow-raising, given the soberness of the country’s economic problems and the concern of some Republicans that the party was skating on thin ice.

“The goose egg you laid on the president’s desk was just beautiful,” he said.

(It is difficult to imagine Ken Mehlman, the buttoned-down lawyer who led the party during much happier days from 2005 to 2007, saying anything quite that colorful.)

This was the same Mr. Steele who, if he didn’t invent what became the signature chant of the Republican presidential campaign, certainly popularized it when he spoke at the Republican National Convention in Minnesota. “Drill, baby, drill,” he said, grinning broadly as the crowd picked up the slogan and repeated it for nearly 30 seconds.

This free-spirited way has gotten him in trouble. He ruffled Republican feathers in 2006 when he had a lunch with reporters at a fancy Washington D.C. restaurant in which he systematically disparaged President George W. Bush and his administration. The single condition he imposed on reporters at the lunch was that his remarks be attributed only to a “Republican Senate candidate” — though within 12 hours the world knew which Republican Senate candidate was trash-talking his president.”

Thought I would share this……I’m taking it as a good sign about the Pork Bill BO and company are trying to get pasted:

From: “John McCain”
To: XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Subject: Fwd: Economic Stimulus Package
Date: Tue, 3 Feb 2009 12:22:56 -0500 (EST)

Dear XXXXXXXXXX,

Yesterday, the Senate began debate on an economic stimulus package that is intended to get our economy back on track and help Americans who are suffering through these difficult times. Unfortunately, the proposal on the table is big on the giveaways for the special interests and corporate high rollers, yet short on help for ordinary working Americans. I cannot and do not support the package on the table from the Democrats and the Obama Administration. Our country does not need just another spending bill, particularly not one that will load future generations with the burden of massive debt. We need a short term stimulus bill that will directly help people, create jobs, and provide a jolt to our economy.

I believe we need to evaluate every bit of spending in this stimulus proposal
with one important criteria – does it really stimulate the economy and help
create jobs – if the answer is no, it does not belong in a so-called stimulus
package. Furthermore, the stimulus must include significant direct relief to
American workers in the form of payroll tax cuts and programs to help homeowners keep their homes. Finally, we need an end game to this stimulus so that when our economy recovers, these spending programs do not remain permanent and saddle our children with a skyrocketing national debt.

I appreciate the discussions President Obama is having with my Republican
colleagues, but the time for talking has come to an end and we must now begin some serious negotiation. But as of yet, Republicans have not been given the opportunity to be involved. The House of Representatives passed a stimulus bill without a single Republican supporting it. In the Senate, the Democrat leadership is trying to jam the existing proposal through regardless of reservations from a number of members. With so much at stake, the last thing we need is partisanship driving our attempts to turn the economy around.

I have long been a fighter against wasteful spending in Washington and long an advocate for a balanced budget — that will never change. I realize we face extraordinary challenges with our economy today, but that is not an excuse for more irresponsibly from Washington. I hope you will join me in saying no to this stimulus package as it currently exists by signing this petition.

Sincerely,

John McCain
Chair, Country First PAC

SURPRISE, SURPRISE! The snake Daschle is out. Ohhh, poor baby. I bet he is not happy.

Good job PUMAs! I also watched Senator DeMent from S.C. this morning on FOX. He was calling on Daschle to pull his name. He got flack from the news reporter, but he gave it right back in a respectful tone. He said that we can’t use the excuse that the Senate doesn’t usually reject one of its own. He said these are difficult times, and we need to serve the American people first. He also didn’t vote for Geithner (sp?).

40

Ex-DemInVA 02.03.09 at 3:55 pm

I heard the guy, Stein, who was on for Rush today say that Obama’s poll numbers are dropping very quickly. He made a funny joke and said that in two weeks, they will be down in the gutter with Bush’s numbers.

Obama NEVER had solid support from the people. I’ve said this all along. He is walking a very fine line. It is all about perception. The media/obots and certain pollsters made it look like his popularity was out in the stratosphere. It simply isn’t so. It hasn’t taken long for the reality of the picture to start showing itself. He never had a mandate. In addition, with all the CHEATING that occurred during the primary and the election, I am STILL not convinced that he really won.

41

theamericanway 02.03.09 at 4:02 pm

I’m terrible at talking on the phone, but have been faxing – 22 since yesterday morning. Have been hopping around enjoying the good news re Daschle. Came across this which interests me no end. However, site is not familiar. If true, it (last paragraph especially) needs to be spread:
Tax evasion? It wasn’t enough to derail Timothy Geithner’s appointment to run the Treasury Department, including the Internal Revenue Service. Didn’t pay $43,000 in federal taxes? Sorry, honest mistake, he said.

It wasn’t enough to end Al Franken’s run for the U.S. Senate in Minnesota. Didn’t pay $70,000 in taxes and penalties in 17 states and $25,000 in workers’ compensation insurance to New York? Sorry, honest mistakes, he said.

It wasn’t enough to cost Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., chairmanship of the House tax-writing committee, let alone his seat in Congress. Didn’t declare tens of thousands in rental income from his Caribbean villa, tens of thousands in profit from the sale of his Florida condo and more than $10,000 in fees he saved by parking his vintage Mercedes in a congressional garage? Sorry, honest mistakes, said the man who helped write the tax code.

Since his colleagues didn’t get too worked up over those crimes, they are unlikely to care that he and five other Democratic representatives took a three-night Caribbean junket paid for in part by Citigroup after they voted for the $700 billion TARP, which gave Citigroup $45 billion. More honest mistakes?

That’s why I like Steele. He has guts. He was calling out the Bush Admin., his own party, in 2006 when he knew it was risky politically for him to do so. I am not a Republican, but I do think that he is what the GOP needs right now.

When will I see my bailout?

Why don’t we call back all that money we gave to the banks since they obviously are using it for the wrong things and just give it to people so they can pay off their houses and debt?

How is borrowing money going to create a stimulus? It just puts us further in the hole doesn’t it?

How can I host a house party when I can’t even afford to fix up my house to make it look nice enough to have guests?

Will there be any programs to help me update my house with solar panels, a new roof, geothermal, and remove the asbestos siding? My house was built in the 1930s. Its not worth anything in this market. I have always been responsible and made my payments on time, and even paid off extra, but now its not worth anything. What are you going to do to stop me from walking away from my mortgage and making the situation worse?

How come rich companies and rich executives get all the money and all the breaks, but I don’t get anything but grief.

What are you going to do about the converter box I bought that is already broken and I cannot return? Looks like I got burned again.

How come rich politicians don’t have to pay taxes but I do? If I failed to pay my taxes, I’d be in jail, but your new administration is already putting crooks, liars, thieves, and cheats in charge!

How are you going to regain my support. I can’t believe I sent you my money and supported you and you go ahead and give tax dodging lobbyists and politicians six figure jobs.

Shame on you! I thought we were all in this together?

I guess not.

Thanks alot for fooling us– it worked!

Among the changes the White House indicated it is willing to accept are the doubling of the tax credit for buying a new home from $7,500 in the House bill to $15,000, and increasing the amount of money to be spent on roads, bridges and other parts of the nation’s infrastructure.
Article

- Replacing a housing bubble with another housing bubble.

Republicans are also considering an alternative bill that would put more emphasis on tax breaks and would allow qualified borrowers who have not fallen behind on their mortgage payments to refinance into new mortgages with interest rates as low as 4 percent.

- Giving more money to those who dont need it. Just when more people are reported to be saving – especially those who already can afford to. More tax breaks than the last 8 years?

We would be TOTALLY better off with this set of lawmakers we have – the worst of both ideologies indeed.

******** ARE YOU A TEACHER OR AN EDUCATOR? ************

A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the nextday the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man.

She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem forthe custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night (you can justimagine the yawns from the little princesses).

To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

There are teachers…. And then there are educators.

The ironic part is I went to file my taxes and they tell me I owe 3,500 dollars. WHAT??? Can I pull a Dashele? NO
But maybe if I do not pay my taxes I will be able to land a position in the Obama administration.

Yep that would qualify me, my troubles are over.

I do love Cal. Especially San Diego. You are blessed..

I’m waiting to see if they stop the unemployment checks here in Cali – then we are truly screwed.

I don’t trust any poll numbers that Gallup produces. Gallup is too in the tank for the Messiah – has been since the Primary. My bet is that those numbers that show who are against the Stimulus Package are much higher. I also bet that Obama’s favorability numbers are lower than Gallup reports.

I’d rather receive a tax refund IOU than see unemployment checks stopped. Where in CA are you located.

Prowl done!

I think we should re-write this so called stimulus package for them! I think we are a good sample population to pull ideas of what this country really needs from. We could write it and then prowl it maybe? They are doing a horrible job on their own. Just an idea :)

i guess the 700pages stimulus plan was worked and written way before the primaries and somehow i get the impresion that part of that money is going to end up in associations ,institutions and fundations similar to ACORN athat will revert into the political propaganda macheriry in order to preserve the house , the senate and next presidential term >>>>and that way they really have “the control”
oh by the way mountain left the country, the pac or whatever?’

Thanks for the FEC post. It is all about the money. I do not know if contributors know they can be fined, also. A lot of the BO graft is open to that if the FEC investigates. Some stuff people do with their minor children donating is pretty yucky.

Bailout recipients also major lobbyists
Jennifer Haberkorn (Contact)
Friday, January 23, 2009

Bank of America received a third cash infusion from the Treasury Department on Friday.

Many of the large American companies that received billions of taxpayer bailout dollars by pleading that they didn’t have enough money to lend to customers were, at the same time, spending millions of dollars dispatching lobbyists to influence the federal government.

A Washington Times review of lobbying disclosure reports found that 18 of the top 20 recipients of federal bailout money spent a combined $12.2 million lobbying the White House, the Treasury Department, Congress and federal agencies during the last quarter of 2008.

For instance, the government bought $3.4 billion in American Express Co. stock on Jan. 9 as part of an aid package. In the last quarter of 2008, the company spent more than $1 million on federal lobbying.

I JUST WATCHED “AUDACITY OF DEMOCRACY”

I enjoyed it up until the end … because it didn’t end like we all wanted it to, did it? :-(

I was once again truly inspired by the PUMA movement as it was shown in this movie, especially the leadership — Murphy, Riverdaughter, Will Bower, Sheri Tag, Maryland Puma (where is MP these days??), filmmakers Brad and Lori and Steve, and all the rest. These wonderful women and men were propelled into leadership roles by the circumstances around them. They stepped up and put together a movement of enthusiastic, passionate and committed activists. I know we haven’t heard the last of the PUMAs, not by a longshot.

The film itself is more a document of the events surrounding the ridiculous convention and nomination process than anything else. This is basically aimed at PUMAs. Anyone else viewing this film would need a crash course in all of the madness that led up to the convention in order to fully understand what’s going on in the film. I do not have any knowledge of how the caucuses work, so the segments of the movie that deal with caucus fraud were lost on me. On the other hand, I have been a regular reader of PUMA blogs, so I immediately got the references to “Kos”, “Larry Johnson”, “No Quarter”, etc. Someone who does not visit the “blogosphere” would not know what the people in the movie were referring to.

If any of you PUMAs reading this can tell me who some of the people were in the movie, I would appreciate it. For instance, who was the man who was pissed off at Murphy for supposedly standing him up for an interview? He was identified by name as Tommy someone and listed as a “Journalist”. It seems like he was much more than that, though, judging by all the on-camera time he was given. Who was the PUMA Pac spokeswoman with the eyeglasses who grants him an interview after he talks to Riverdaughter? I also wish I knew who you PUMAs were in the Denver segments. You were all so courageous. It was very inspirational. Can those of you who were in the Denver segments identify yourselves?

I am so sorry that the movie (and the election!) ended the way it did. I felt very bad for the woman at the end of the movie who said she spent so much money on Hillary’s campaign and then felt betrayed by Hillary. It’s a shame it ended that way for her, but it ended that way for all of us, really, although I certainly don’t blame Hillary for the outcome.

I have not had a chance to see the second disc, which Brad said contains interviews of PUMAs. I will try to watch that over the weekend.

Anyway, I am glad I have a copy of this film. It is a historical document of our movement. I signed on to PUMA Pac the day Hillary suspended her campaign. I have been a PUMA ever since. I am very proud to be a PUMA.

Read Cinie -

“Direct access to the validation seeking black Americans and their fellow hopeless country-men and -women desperate for change via the Bullies of the Blogosphere and the Mainstream Media Maniacs by way of the White House in 1 easy step through the courtesy of Corporate America. Thousands of employees of Citigroup, JP Morgan, Pepsi, Time Warner, MTV, BET, Dreamworks, Microsoft, Stanford, Columbia, etc., along with the other “small donors” on the list, now get to hear straight from the Astroturfing man with the office next door to the president any time he feels like telling them something. Now we know why Obama 2.0 wants us all to have stimulus package house parties.

Combine that with daily talking point exchanges between the White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel and two of CNN”s “Democratic strategists,” Paul Begala and James Carville, and you’ve got the country on information lockdown.

Gotta love that.

Now if I could just figure out who hired the Astroturfer in the first place…”

I wish I lived in Cinie’s World.

Well, I guess I sort of DO live in Cinie’s World:

He begins admitting his mistakes & we are only 2 weeks in….

COOPER: Do you feel you messed up in letting it get this far?

OBAMA: Yes. I think I made a mistake. And I told Tom that. I take responsibility for the appointees and … Video Watch Obama talk about his “mistake” »

COOPER: What was your mistake, letting it get this far? You should have pulled it earlier?

OBAMA: Well, I think my mistake is not in selecting Tom originally, because I think nobody was better equipped to deal both with the substance and policy of health care. He understands it as well as anybody, but also the politics, which is going to be required to actually get it done. But I think that, look, ultimately, I campaigned on changing Washington and bottom-up politics. And I don’t want to send a message to the American people that there are two sets of standards: one for powerful people and one for ordinary folks who are working every day and paying their taxes. (note: WHAT ABOUT GEINTLER?????)

We PUMA can form a PUMA Grand Jury and do as we please.

http://defendourfreedoms.us/2009/02/03/the-federal-grand-jury-is-the-4th-branch-of-government.aspx

The Constitution gives us this right. We can use it to fight for Women’s Rights and to throw out Obama. This is really powerful.

We can form a Grand Jury and do as we please with POWER. Just as powerful as the other 3 branches of Government and they can not interfer or stop us. The Consititution gives us this right to over see the other 3 branches to keep them a little honest. The gov has tried to strip this power away from us.

Three Republican Senators Bring Socialism
HumanEvents.com ^ | 2/9/2009 | Connie Hair

America’s future in freedom hangs in the balance as three RINO senators on Friday announced they will join Democrats in their scheme to move this country irretrievably down the path to socialism. Senators Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) have indicated they will vote for the $1.3 trillion “stimulus” spending bill that purposes none other than precisely that outcome. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office ruled that less than 20 percent of the bill could in any way be considered stimulative.

Spector is NOT recieving emails or calls or faxes, but email these two.

FOX news now reporting Collins say she WILL NOT vote for the package in the Senate.

FREEPERS RISE UP! March on the Senate Monday and Tuesday! Stop the Porkulus Coup d’Etat

Saturday, February 7, 2009 |

MEET UP 10 A.M. MONDAY AT SPECTER’S OFFICE 711 HART SENATE OFFICE BUILDING

You do not need a leader, you do not need an organizer, you do not need a permit. You only need the desire to stop this bill before it’s too late. After Tuesday it will be too late.

Throw out your schedule, take the days off, hop on a plane, a train, a bus, get in your car, take the Metro, take a cab and go!

Take your case directly to the Senate. Descend on the offices of Specter, Collins and Snowe. Fill their offices with passionate opponents of the Porkulus Bill. You do not have to do dumb things to get yourself arrested. Do smart things to get your point across.

Stop by the offices of the good guys and show them your support.

Visit the bad guys’ offices and give them a piece of your mind.

The stakes are the fate of this Nation. A Marxist coup d’etat is taking place with a $1 trillion dollars of debt that will bankrupt this country and sentence future generations of Americans to being slaves of government and debt.

Again, you don’t need a leader, an organizer or a permit. You don’t need fancy protest signs, but bring a sign if you wish. You don’t need talking points or a big name speaker. You know the issues. Speak out for yourself.

If you live in the D.C. area, or can get away for the day–do it! It’s now or never. They need to see us in their faces.

If enough of you show up on Monday and Tuesday, you will find each other and form a group, a mob or even a rabble. We need a good rabble on Capitol Hill. It’s up to you.

(The democrat house is divided into three camps: 1) progressive caucus socialists of which Nancy Pelosi is a long standing member, 2) conservative bluedog democrats and 3) business friendly democrat group. The pelosi led socialists like to push their way around and they take no prisoners. I believe we can form coalitions that will temper the damage posed by the socialists. Obama appears reluctant to stand up to Pelosi. He will be facing a leadership power struggle with Pelosi throughout his term.)
