Monday blah’s got you down?
What, no faith in the sunny brightness of your future or the integrity of your elected officials? Join the club.
But do not despair! Take these quick and easy steps to blast away the Deep Winter of Our Discontent Blues:
Step One: Learn to Belly Breathe
Find a comfortable place to sit down. You want to avoid lying down unless you are sure you won’t accidentally fall asleep. You should also wear loose clothing that allows you to feel your stomach. Once you are seated, put your arm across your stomach and relax. Then breathe slowly, like this: Counting to two, breathe in through your nose. Then hold it and count to four. Finally, as you count to three, breathe out through your mouth.
While you are breathing, you should be aware of your stomach. When you breathe in, you should feel your stomach expand. If it isn’t, try pushing it out as much as you can as you draw breath in through your nose. When you breathe out, you should feel your stomach deflate. Again, if you are having trouble, try pushing it out. After you do this often enough, you will again begin to breathe in this manner. Not only will it help you physically and mentally, but it will also help your efforts at self-hypnosis.
Step Two: Hypnotize Yourself.
- Sit in the meditative posture and scan the body. Say out loud to yourself these lines:
- “My right arm is heavy and warm.” (repeat 6 times)
- “My left arm is heavy and warm.” (repeat 6 times)
- “My arms and legs are heavy and warm.” (repeat 6 times)
- “My heartbeat is calm and regular.” (repeat 6 times)
- “My solar plexus is warm.” (repeat 6 times)
- “My forehead is cool.” (repeat 6 times)
- “I am supremely calm.”
- Repeat this process several times.
- Come out of your trance by counting backwards from 10.
Step Three: Complete these 2 Prowls:
1. Contact your Senators and tell them to tell Tom Daschle to take a long walk off a short pier. Click HERE to send the following email to your Senators.
Dear Senator,
I am your constituent and a member of Puma PAC, People United Means Action (www.pumapac.org). President Obama’s latest tax-evading nominee for the Cabinet is the final straw. First we had Tim Geithner, and now Tom Daschle expects the American people, millions of whom are worrying about how they are going to afford to pay their own taxes and monthly bills, to just IGNORE the $130,000 in taxes he didn’t pay for his limousine’s chauffeur. UNACCEPTABLE.
If you support Mr. Daschle and vote to confirm his appointment, I will remember to use my own vote AGAINST you in the next election.
Sincerely,
Your Name
Puma PAC Member
2. Contact your Senators and tell them the bloated, ineffective Stimulus Muddle needs to take a long walk off a short pier. Click HERE to send the following email to your Senators.
Dear Senator,
I am your constituent and a member of Puma PAC, People United Means Action (www.pumapac.org). The blockbuster Spend-and-Tax-Cut Stimulus Bill proposed by the Obama Administration is a swindle. It combines the WORST aspects of each party’s worn-out ideologies. The bill succeeds at kicking the middle class both coming AND going. Ridiculous spending on projects we can’t afford and don’t necessarily need, combined with reckless tax cuts and MORE GIVE-AWAYS to the very rich. It is PREPOSTEROUS of you to think that the American voting public is not paying attention.
If you support this Stimulus Package in its current form, I will remember to use my own vote AGAINST you in the next election.
Sincerely,
Your Name
Puma PAC Member

New government commission blasts Iraq waste, fraud
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Citing the need to restore public trust in an inefficient and allegedly corrupt military procurement process, a new government commission Monday officially began hearings to account for billions of taxpayer dollars misspent in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Every interested American knows that there was rampant fraud, waste and abuse following the invasion of Iraq,” Sen. Jim Webb, D-Virginia, said at the opening hearing of the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“They all know it, and they want us to demonstrate that we’re willing to do something about it, not simply in terms of process, but in terms of accountability

At the top right hand corner of Page 17 of the New York Post of January
24th, 2009, was a short column entitled ” Replacing Michelle ” in the
National Review “The Week” column. I found this interesting, so here it is,
word for word, as it appeared days ago……
‘Some employees are simply irreplaceable. Take Michelle Obama: The
University of Chicago Medical center hired her in 2002 to run “programs
for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment,
staff diversity and minority contracting.”
In 2005 the hospital raised her salary from $120,000 to $317,000 – nearly
twice what her husband made as a Senator.
Oh, did we mention that her husband had just become a US Senator? He
sure had. Requested a $1 Million earmark for the UC Medical Center, in
fact. Way to network Michelle!
But now that Mrs Obama has resigned, the hospital says her position will
remain unfilled. How can that be, if the work she did was vital enough to
be worth $317,000?
We can think of only one explanation: Senator Roland Burris’s wife wasn’t
interested.

In catching up with the posts, I have to say, that from what I saw of the Super Bowl ads (I saw three), they were the most sexist I have seen. It seems as though they are getting worse. The flower ad that Murphy posted is absolutely disgusting. It’s as if they get a thrill in treating women like sh*t. I actually witnessed a commentator on a CNN channel today complaining about the sexist content of the SB ads. He said they have crossed the line. IMHO, I think part of this is from the culture of the Obot mentality. Look at how they treated Hillary and Sarah Palin? I’m afraid it is going to get worse until more people come out against it. Since they were played during the SB, it encourages the mentality of men treating women like dirt.
Ex-DemInVA 02.02.09 at 5:30 pm
Senator Daschle is a pompous a*s. He was so nasty to Hillary during the primary. Why am I not surprised that he cheated on his taxes and by so much $$$. These people think they walk on water and that they are above the law. Isn’t it interesting that Obama chooses him to be on his Cabinet. Change you can believe in.

Since Cannonfire is listed as a blog on the Puma site – and since that blog never tells the truth about Israel – and since Cannon talked about the Davos conference, I think that it is very important that the Israeli side be presented since it seems that it is always the palestinians who are the victims – rarely does one see what occurs in Israel and how those people are suffering. Shimon Peres, the Israeli president, presents a very eloquent statement concerning events prior to the Israeli invasion into Gaza – he is forthright, honest and very moving as he talks. You will not see this on the msm, unfortunately. Mentioned is the bombing of the UN compound, which has been found NOT TO BE TRUE.
Peres speaks at the 40 minute mark. President Peres read a passage from the Hamas Charter a passage that comes from the Qu’ran, an unabashed promise to kill the Jews, down to the last Jew hiding behind a rock or a tree, denounced by the rock or the tree (rocks and trees have already converted to Islam by that time).

Is this next for our police?
UK POLICE SUCCUMB, ADOPT HIJAB UNIFORMS
Saturday, January 31, 2009, 09:30Police have opened the door to female Muslim recruits by incorporating the hijab into the uniform.
The force has become the latest to approve a design for a headscarf suitable for officers on patrol.
Senior officers believe the lack of the option has deterred applications from the considerable number of Muslim women who choose to wear the hijab.
The police hijab is plain black and made of a flame-retardant material. Officers will be able to wear a standard police hat on top of it. small number of forces nationwide have taken a similar step, including Thames Valley and the Metropolitan police.
[...]
The police’s annual report for 2007/08 showed women made up about 23 per cent of the force’s officers.
The number of officers from black and Asian communities stood at about six per cent – short of the 15 per cent target.
Mr Feavyour said: “Clearly, we want people from all walks of life to join the force and the fact we have the hijab available now shows our commitment to that. It’s an extension to our uniform which will, hopefully, show people they are welcome. “It is very important to us that the force reflects the community it serves.”
Sabrina Khan, a 19-year-old student from Evington, Leicester, said: “I don’t wear the veil, but a lot of my family and friends do

AP Investigation: Banks sought foreign workers
By FRANK BASS and RITA BEAMISH – 1 day ago
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Major U.S. banks sought government permission to bring thousands of foreign workers into the country for high-paying jobs even as the system was melting down last year and Americans were getting laid off, according to an Associated Press review of visa applications.
The dozen banks now receiving the biggest rescue packages, totaling more than $150 billion, requested visas for more than 21,800 foreign workers over the past six years for positions that included senior vice presidents, corporate lawyers, junior investment analysts and human resources specialists. The average annual salary for those jobs was $90,721, nearly twice the median income for all American households.

And again—-
Obama violated the Logan Act?
The United States has a law called the Logan Act whose aim is to prevent private citizens from conducting foreign policy. The law has been on the books for more than 200 years and is codified at 18 U.S.C. §953. Here’s what it says:
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
AFP is reporting that President Barack Hussein Obama used his representatives and ‘experts’ to maintain contacts with the terror regimes in Tehran and Damascus for ‘months’ before the elections.
United States President Barack Obama employed representatives and experts to hold secret high-level talks with Iran and Syria months prior to his election as president, organizers of the meetings told Agence France Presse on Monday.
Over the past few months, Obama campaign and election officials, as well as nuclear non-proliferation experts, had several “very, very high-level” contacts with Iranian leaders, according to Jeffrey Boutwell, executive director for the U.S. branch of the Pugwash group, a Nobel Prize-winning international organization of scientists. Former defense secretary William Perry, who served in Obama’s election campaign, also participated in some of the meetings, which included discussions on Iran’s nuclear program and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Though Boutwell refused to name other participants, he said they were senior figures in the Iranian and US governments.
…
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad affirmed the reports Monday that Obama officials had repeated contact with his country for some time prior to the U.S. elections. “Dialogue started some weeks ago in a serious manner through personalities who are close to the administration and who were dispatched by the administration,” Assad said.
A group of experts, under the auspices of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) think tank, announced Thursday that they met for more than two hours in Damascus with President al-Assad. Obama transition team member and former Clinton White House adviser Ellen Laipson attended the meeting as well, they said.
Given the lack of respect his cabinet has for the law, why should the boss be any different? Hopenchange!ain —-

Darfur v. Gaza: Why the difference?
At City of Brass, Aziz Poonawalla asks some hard questions regarding the different treatment the world gives to Muslim deaths in Gaza, on the one hand, and Darfur, on the other.
Ali A. Rizvi, a muslim blogger, asks the hard questions:
Where are the large-scale protests and outrage from the Muslim community over the senseless deaths and rape of hundreds of thousands of poverty-ridden African Muslims?
Why is there such a glaring discrepancy between the Muslim world’s response to the atrocities in Gaza and the atrocities in Darfur?
If the Darfur genocide was being carried out by Jews or Christians instead of Arab Muslims, would we see a different response?
One might not be sure what the reaction would be if it were Christians doing the killing, but it’s quite clear that the reaction against Darfur would be much stronger if it were Jews doing the killing.
The only people in the world who care if Muslims are killed are – ironically – Jews. In fact, Poonwalla would recognize (and perhaps does recognize) this fact himself if he reads his own words:
It should be noted that two and a half years ago, there were large-scale demonstrations in the US to draw attention to Darfur. Those demonstrations were largely organized by American Jews. The muslim-American community’s response? A press release.
That’s right – only the Jews care about Muslim deaths. Muslims don’t care (or care less) about Muslim deaths. Here is proof of each of those statements.
If the Jews didn’t care about Muslims, the death toll in Gaza would not have been 1,300, it would have been 300,000.
If Muslims cared about Muslims, the cold-blooded deaths of ‘Palestinians’ at the hands of other ‘Palestinians’ and the torture of ‘Palestinians’ by other ‘Palestinians’ would be a matter that concerns the Muslim world. But it’s not. Instead, it’s greeted by indifference.

@ #22
airforcehusker, I just searched and cannot find a “very credible source” for that one. From what I can tell, I believe the story originates from one site that posted it seemingly as fact but then later noted that it was a satire: http://jumpinginpools.blogspot.com/2009/01/military-to-pledge-oath-to-obama-not.html
So, I think before this person posted that it was satire, many people sort of ran away with it, because I see that the post was covered by many many people on many many blogs.
*I could be wrong about this though!!
The sad part of it is that it’s not hard at all to believe that Obama would do something like that.

Video: Hamas wanted to kill him; Israelis saved his life
This is an interview with a Gazan supporter of the ‘good terrorists’ from Fatah. The man lost both his legs after being shot with a burst of automatic machine gun fire after Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in June 2007. But years earlier, he was nearly killed in a battle with Israeli soldiers. The contrast is stunning and only now does this Gazan apparently realize the truth.

“We, your brothers, holy war fighters used this house. … Our apologies.”
HERZLIYA, Israel – More tales are emerging of the ways Hamas utilized civilians during Israel’s 22-day war against the terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, including accounts from Gaza residents who accuse Hamas of using them as human shields.
In one case, after engaging with terrorists holed up inside a civilian apartment complex, the Israel Defense Forces seized an Arabic-language note left behind, addressed to one of the apartment’s occupants.
“Greetings, honored residents of this house,” reads the note, obtained by WND. “We, your brothers, holy war fighters used this house and some of the things in it. Our apologies.”
Last week, the Sydney Morning Herald interviewed Muhammad Shriteh, a Gaza-based ambulance driver, who complained Hamas would “lure the ambulances into the heart of a battle to transport fighters to safety.”
He told the paper his ambulance company “coordinate[d] with the Israelis before we picked up patients … so they would not shoot at us.”
Shriteh recounted one instance when he was called to an emergency in the Jabaliya camp in the northern Gaza Strip only to find Hamas terrorists waiting inside a civilian apartment complex, hiding from Israeli fire.
“They were very scared, and very nervous,” he said. “They dropped their weapons and ordered me to get them out, to put them in the ambulance and take them away.”
Shriteh stated he refused to help because, he believed, if the IDF saw him transporting Hamas gunmen, he would not be able to pick up any more wounded people. He recounted one of the Hamas operatives putting a gun to his head, but he still refused and then they allowed him to leave.
He said at one point Hamas attempted to hijack the ambulances at one of the main hospitals in Gaza City.
“You hear when they are coming. People ring to tell you,” Shriteh said. “So we had to get in all the ambulances and make the illusion of an emergency and only come back when they had gone.”
Also, in a piece entitled “Parsing Gains of the Gaza War,” the New York Times quoted a source it said was close to Hamas, describing how the group “fired rockets in between the houses and covered the alleys with sheets so they could set the rockets up in five minutes without the planes seeing them. The moment they fired, they escaped.”
The Italian daily Corriere della Sera last week published an article translated into English by Israel’s Center for Special Studies quoting Gaza residents accusing Hamas of shooting from their homes and then preventing the residents from fleeing when Israel returned fire.
Last week, WND broke the story that Hamas took out dozens of apartments from within civilian complexes where it currently bases its new government infrastructure: including Hamas’ interior ministry, court system, ministry of transportation, education, police, health services and scores of other official institutions.
Hamas sources claimed the group had no choice but to open their offices within civilian apartment complexes, since their previous government buildings were mostly bombed by Israel.
Also last week, IDF Brig. Gen. Eyal Eisenberg, who fought in Gaza, charged Hamas sent civilians, including women and children, to transfer weapons to gunmen engaged in battles with Israeli forces, and he accused Hamas of booby-trapping many of the civilians’ homes. He labeled Hamas’ alleged use of civilians as “monstrous” and “inhumane.”
Similar reports were provided to WND during previous Israeli battles with Hamas. During one battle focusing largely on the Hamas infrastructure in the city of Jabaliya, about one mile into the Gaza Strip, an Israeli commander said Hamas drew Israeli forces into populated civilian areas, shooting at Jewish fighters from occupied civilian homes while women and children were inside.
In another case, Israel’s Haaretz daily quoted an Israeli commander describing how Hamas sent a 10-year-old boy into the battlefield in full view of the Israeli military to remove a gun from a felled terrorist and then pass the weapon to another terrorist. The commander at the scene said he ordered his troops to halt their fire as the Israeli military watched.
Another commander speaking to WND said Hamas snipers used the windows of a Jabaliya house that was clearly occupied by women and children to shoot at his unit.
“The aim is to draw us into killing civilians to bring about international pressure to end our operation,” the commander said.
The international community and much of the world media constantly berated Israel for purportedly killing more than 1,250 Palestinians during the conflict.

I just read the post up at RBO.
I’ve heard about these FEMA camps for a while now. I thought it was something I should not worry about. I wonder what is going on now?
I just looked up H.R. 645

Is this real? I mean, what is going on. I looked up the definitions of major disaster and emergency, and the president can call it as she/ he sees fit: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode42/usc_sec_42_00005122—-000-.html
Can’t have little encaged cities on military bases–used for whatever the President deems as an emergency.

INTERESTING!!!!
How big is $1 trillion, really?
Size of Obama ’stimulus’ almost beyond comprehension
——————————————————————————–
NEW YORK – The Obama administration is the first government in human history to propose going $1 trillion in debt for any reason, let alone on the premise that borrowing and spending that amount would be a solution rather than another problem.
To answer the question of how big a problem borrowing $1 trillion will be, we decided to examine just how large 1 trillion actually is.
One trillion is the number “1″ followed by 12 zeroes, as in: 1,000,000,000,000.
One trillion seconds of ordinary clock time = 31,546 years.
So, spending at $1 a second, it would take 31,546 years to spend $1 trillion.
If someone were to build city blocks that contained 10 homes valued at $100,000 per home, you would end up with 10 houses to a block, 10 blocks to a mile and a hundred blocks per square mile. It would take 10,000 square miles to reach $1 trillion in value. This would be than larger than six U.S. states: Vermont, 9,615 square miles; New Hampshire, 9,351 square miles; New Jersey, 8,722 square miles; Connecticut, 5,544 square miles; Delaware, 1,954 square miles; and Rhode Island, 1,545 square miles.
Craig Smith, founder and CEO of Swiss America, estimates it would take approximately four generations of Americans to pay off the interest of the U.S. Treasury bonds sold as debt to fund the $1 trillion stimulus package, factoring in a 3-percent growth rate in the economy throughout that time.
(Story continues below)
The U.S. national debt now exceeds $10 trillion and is estimated currently at $10,624,012,813,982.43 as of yesterday at 6:44:38 p.m. Eastern Time., according to the U.S. National Debt Clock at Times Square in New York City.
With the estimated population of the United States at 305,556,415, each citizen’s share of the national debt is $34,769.40.
The Bush administration added more than $4 trillion to the national debt, increasing it more than 70 percent from the time Bush took office, on Jan. 20, 2001.
Trillions are no longer enough to measure important financial statistics on a global basis.
The Bank of International Settlements now estimates that derivatives – the complex bets financial institutions and sophisticated investors make with one another on everything from commodities options to credit swaps – now top $650 trillion worldwide – that’s $0.65 quadrillion.
Last September, the digital display on the Times Square National Debt Clock was modified to eliminate the dollar sign, so the national debt in tens of trillions of dollars could be displayed.
The clock, created in 1989 by Manhattan real estate developer Seymour Durst, is now being redesigned so it can display the national debt in numbers measured in the hundreds of millions, with a dollar sign that could be eliminated should the national debt ever reach $1 quadrillion.
A quadrillion is a 1 followed by 15 zeroes, as in: 1,000,000,000,000,000.
The new clock should be ready to install early this year.
David Schwartz, author of the children’s book classic “How Much is a Million?” points out that if 1 million kids climbed onto one another’s shoulders, they would be higher than Mt. Everest.
If a billion children climbed onto one another’s shoulders, they would reach beyond the moon.
A trillion is yet 1,000 billion, meaning that if 1 trillion children climbed on one another’s shoulders, they would reach 1,000 times beyond the moon.
A quadrillion is 1,000 trillion, meaning that if one quadrillion children climbed on one another’s shoulders, they would reach 1 million times beyond the moon.

please post links with articles–I cannot always tell which site you are getting them from.
Yes, I heard about how Hamas used their people as human shields and also how they set up shop in schools and hid weapons in citizen homes.

Dances,
yes, I think 16 is pretty darn young to be on your own. I have been on my own since 14 and then became a legally emancipated minor at 16. Nothing was bad and there were good people all around me. I just *had* to be on my own. I just wanted to go to school and work and have my own apartment and privacy. Was very independent sort of kid and stubborn.
There was no controlling me whatsoever if I wanted to do something. I’d be all calm talking to the adults, like: You can’t stop me, ok? I mean, go ahead and yell at me or punish me or call the cops or whatever, but you have no control over me and I will do what I want to do no matter what.

taggles1:
Yeah, I hope slyt2 is not going through that either. I remember how I exasperated the adults and they were always worried and, in my mind, overreacting to situations. I’d be like, “Why is everyone so serious? What are you so worried about?” Must be frightening to lose control of kid because then you worry that they won’t be safe.
But I was fine. Had a good head on my shoulders. I really just went to school and worked and paid my bills on time. I never got into drugs or anything terrible even though I went out every night, etc. Never got arrested or pregnant or whatever. I got good grades, etc.
Still–it would have been easier to stay at home until 18 or so! No doubt about it. But it’s all good.

Heritage Expert: Stimulus Will Worsen Deep Recession
Monday, February 2, 2009 2:37 PM
By: Dave Eberhart Article Font Size
As President Barack Obama continues his digital blitz to win over John Q. Public to his stimulus plan, other voices are busy spreading the word that the package will be poison to the flagging economy.
“The economic crisis can seem overwhelming and complex to many, but you can help the people you know connect the recovery plan to their lives and learn more about why it’s so important by hosting a house meeting,” says his administration’s latest blanket emailing.
But not everyone’s in the mood for a house party.
“The United States appears headed toward a multi-trillion-dollar increase in publicly traded federal debt in just the next two years, with much more to come. Other nations appear to be following suit,” warns J. D. Foster of the Heritage Foundation.
“The near-term consequences of this debt bubble will be a deeper recession, a longer recession, and a weaker eventual recovery,” he concludes.
Where the Obama digital message tends to keep away from specifics, Foster is ready with the frightening details.
“By the end of 2008, the federal government had about $6.4 trillion in publicly traded debt — the net accumulation of all debt issued by the government since the founding of the republic,” he advises.
Indeed, says Foster, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) forecasts a deficit for 2009 of $1.2 trillion, excluding any effects of a stimulus bill or other new spending. The stimulus plan is still evolving, but the total under consideration at the moment is about $900 billion, some of which will be injected into the economy in 2009, some in 2010, and some in later years.
This statement of timeline seems to belie the Obama Internet pitch, which emphasizes that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan will put people back to work in the short term by ensuring that the money being invested “gets out the door immediately” – not dribbling out in 2010 and later.
Foster sees no light at the end of the tunnel if the plan as written gets to the President’s desk.

Geert Wilders
The Islamization of Europe
February 2, 2009
I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world.
There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be
optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of
Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of
Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West.
The danger I see looming is the scenario of America as the last man
standing. The United States as the last bastion of Western
civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.
The Europe you know is changing. You have probably seen the
landmarks. The Eiffel Tower and Trafalgar Square and Rome’s ancient
buildings and maybe the canals of Amsterdam. They are still there.
And they still look very much the same as they did a hundred years ago.
But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your
tourist destination, there is another world, a world very few
visitors see – and one that does not appear in your tourist
guidebook. It is the world of the parallel society created by Moslem
mass-migration.
All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Moslem
neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even
seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well.
It’s the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless
tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands,
or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques
on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot read.
You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity.
These are Moslem ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are
Moslem neighborhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across
Europe. These are the building-blocks for territorial control of
increasingly larger portions of Europe, street by street,
neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.
There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe. With larger
congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city
there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church
in the region.
Many European cities are already one-quarter Moslem: just take
Amsterdam, Marseille, and Malmo in Sweden. In many cities over 50% of
the under-18 population is Moslem.
Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Moslem neighborhoods. Mohammed
is the most popular name among boys in many cities. Many state
schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal (Moslem kosher) food
to all pupils.
In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by
Moslems. Non-Moslem women routinely hear “whore, whore.” Satellite
dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in their
country of origin. In France school teachers are advised to avoid
authors deemed offensive to Moslems, including Voltaire and Diderot;
the same is increasingly true of Darwin.
The history of the Holocaust can in many cases no longer be taught
because of Moslem sensitivity. In England sharia courts are now
officially part of the British legal system. Many neighborhoods in
France are no-go areas for women without head scarves. Last week a
man almost died after being beaten up by Moslems in Brussels, because
he was drinking during the Ramadan.
I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization.
A total of fifty-four million Moslems now live in Europe. San Diego
University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the
population in Europe will be Moslem just 12 years from now.
Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening
if the Moslem-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there
are few signs of that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of
French Moslems see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their
loyalty to France. One-third of French Moslems do not object to
suicide attacks.
The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of
British Moslem students are in favor of a worldwide caliphate. A
Dutch study reported that half of Dutch Moslems admit they
“understand” the 9/11 attacks. Moslems demand what they call
‘respect’. And this is how we give them respect. Our elites are
willing to give in. To give up.
In my own country we have gone from calls by one cabinet member to
turn Moslem holidays into official state holidays, to statements by
another cabinet member that Islam is part of Dutch culture, to an
affirmation by the Christian-Democratic attorney general that he is
willing to accept sharia in the Netherlands if there is a Moslem
majority. We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey.
Moslem demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty
crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and
bus drivers, to small-scale riots. Paris has seen its uprising in the
low-income suburbs, the banlieus.
Some prefer to see these as isolated incidents, but I call it a
Moslem intifada. I call the perpetrators “settlers.” Because that is
what they are. They do not come to integrate into our societies, they
come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam. Therefore,
they are settlers.
Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively
against non-Moslems, forcing many native people to leave their
neighborhoods, their cities, their countries. Politicians shy away
from taking a stand against this creeping sharia. They believe in the
equality of all cultures. Moreover, on a mundane level, Moslems are
now a swing vote not to be ignored.
Our many problems with Islam cannot be explained by poverty,
repression or the European colonial past, as the Left claims. Nor
does it have anything to do with Palestinians or American troops in
Iraq. The problem is Islam itself.
Allow me to give you a brief Islam 101. The first thing you need to
know about Islam is the importance of the book of the Koran. The
Koran is Allah’s personal word, revealed by an angel to Mohammed, the prophet.
This is where the trouble starts. Every word in the Koran is Allah’s
word and therefore not open to discussion or interpretation. It is
valid for every Moslem and for all times. Therefore, there is no such
a thing as moderate Islam.
Sure, there are a lot of moderate Moslems. But a moderate Islam is
non-existent. The Koran calls for hatred, violence, submission,
murder, and terrorism. The Koran calls for Moslems to kill
non-Moslems, to terrorize non-Moslems and to fulfill their duty to
wage war: violent jihad. Jihad is a duty for every Moslem, Islam is
to rule the world – by the sword. The Koran is clearly anti-Semitic,
describing Jews as monkeys and pigs.
The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the
prophet. His behavior is an example to all Moslems and cannot be
criticized. Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like
Ghandi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem.
But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, and a pedophile. Islamic
tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies
murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed himself
slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. He advised on matters
of slavery, but never advised to liberate slaves.
Islam has no other morality than the advancement of Islam. If it is
good for Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad. There
is no gray area or other side.
Koran as Allah’s own word and Mohammed as the perfect man are the two
most important facets of Islam. Let no one fool you about Islam being
a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a hereafter, and 72 virgins. But
in its essence Islam is a political ideology.
It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life
of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam
means ’submission’. Islam is not compatible with freedom and
democracy, because what it strives for is sharia.
If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or
national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies. This is
what you need to know about Islam, in order to understand what is
going on in Europe.
Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam “the most retrograde
force in the world,” and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Koran:
Mein Kampf, he said, is “the new Koran of faith and war.”
Which brings me to my movie,
Fitna.
I am a lawmaker, and not a movie maker. But I felt I had the moral
duty to educate about Islam. The duty to make clear that the Koran
stands at the heart of what some people call terrorism but is in
reality jihad. I wanted to show that the problems of Islam are at the
core of Islam, and do not belong to its fringes.
Now, from the day the plan for my movie was made public, it caused
quite a stir, in the Netherlands and throughout Europe. First, there
was a political storm, with government leaders, across the continent
in sheer panic . The Netherlands was put under a heightened terror
alert, because of possible attacks or a revolt by our Moslem population.
The Dutch branch of the Islamic organization Hizbut-Tahrir declared
that the Netherlands was due for an attack. Internationally, there
was a series of incidents. The Taliban threatened to organize
additional attacks against Dutch troops in Afghanistan, and a website
linked to Al Qaeda published the message that I ought to be killed,
while various muftis in the Middle East stated that I would be
responsible for all the bloodshed after the screening of the movie.
In Afghanistan and Pakistan the Dutch flag was burned on several
occasions. Dolls representing me were also burned. The Indonesian
President announced that I will never be admitted into Indonesia
again, while the UN Secretary General and the European Union issued
cowardly statements in the same vein as those made by the Dutch
Government. I could go on and on. It was an absolute disgrace, a sell-out.
A plethora of legal troubles also followed, and have not ended yet.
Currently the state of Jordan is litigating against me. Only last
week there were renewed security agency reports about a heightened
terror alert for the Netherlands because of
Fitna.
It is very difficult to be an optimist in the face of the growing
Islamization of Europe. All the tides are against us. On all fronts
we are losing. Demographically the momentum is with Islam. Moslem
immigration is even a source of pride within ruling liberal parties.
Academia, the arts, the media, trade unions, the churches, the
business world, the entire political establishment have all converted
to the suicidal theory of multiculturalism. So-called journalists
volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a
‘right-wing extremists’ or ‘racists’. The entire establishment has
sided with our enemy. Leftists, liberals and Christian-Democrats are
now all in bed with Islam.
This is the most painful thing to see: the betrayal by our elites. At
this moment in Europe’s history, our elites are supposed to lead us.
To stand up for centuries of civilization. To defend our heritage. To
honor our eternal Judeo-Christian values that made Europe what it is
today. But there are very few signs of hope to be seen at the
governmental level.
Sarkozy, Merkel, Brown, Berlusconi; in private, they probably know
how grave the situation is. But when the little red light goes on,
they stare into the camera and tell us that Islam is a religion of
peace, and we should all try to get along nicely and sing Kumbaya.
They willingly participate in what President Reagan so aptly called:
“the betrayal of our past, the squandering of our freedom.”
If there is hope in Europe, it comes from the people, not from the
elites. Change can only come from a grass-roots level. It has to come
from the citizens themselves. Yet these patriots will have to take on
the entire political, legal and media establishment.
Over the past years there have been some small, but encouraging,
signs of a rebirth of the original European spirit. Maybe the elites
turn their backs on freedom, the public does not. In my country, the
Netherlands, 60 percent of the population now sees the mass
immigration of Moslems as the number one policy mistake since World
War II. And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat to
our national identity.
I don’t think the public opinion in Holland is very different from
other European countries. Patriotic parties that oppose jihad are
growing, against all odds. My own party debuted two years ago, with
five percent of the vote. Now it stands at ten percent in the polls.
The same is true of all similarly-minded parties in Europe. They are
fighting the liberal establishment, and are gaining footholds on the
political arena, one voter at the time. Now, for the first time,
these patriotic parties will come together and exchange experiences.
It may be the start of something big. Something that might change the
map of Europe for decades to come. It might also be Europe’s last
chance. It is called the Alliance of European Patriots.
This Alliance will serve as the backbone for all organizations and
political parties that oppose Jihad and Islamization. This endeavor
may be crucial to America and to the West. America may hold fast to
the dream that, thanks to its location, it is safe from jihad and sharia.
But seven years ago to the day, there was still smoke rising from
ground zero, following the attacks that forever shattered that dream.
Yet there is a danger, an even greater danger than terrorist attacks,
the scenario of America as the last man standing.
The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An
Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an
economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military
might for America – as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies
with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America
alone to preserve the heritage of Rome, Athens and Jerusalem.
Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation
never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver
platter, by people who fought for it with their lives.
All throughout Europe American cemeteries remind us of the young boys
who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish. My generation
does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians. We can only
hand over this hard won liberty to Europe’s children in the same
state in which it was offered to us.
We cannot strike a deal with mullahs and imams. Future generations
would never forgive us. We cannot squander our liberties. We simply
do not have the right to do so. This is not the first time our
civilization is under threat. We have e seen dangers before. We have
been betrayed by our elites before. They have sided with our enemies before.
And yet, then, freedom prevailed. These are not times in which to
take lessons from appeasement, capitulation, giving away, giving up
or giving in. These are not times in which to draw lessons from Mr.
Chamberlain. These are times calling us to draw lessons from Mr.
Churchill and the words he spoke in 1941:
“Never give in, never, never, never, never, in nothing great or
small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor
and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently
overwhelming might of the enemy.”

social life is the most important thing to most teenage girls. the phone and computer is the life line.
I will usually take away an evening out or no one over the house.
If I take away the phone, then I can’t reach him when I need to, so I don’t do that.
I take away the video games though. that’s a killer.

Slyt2…Oh my god, she is a very intelligent Scorpio, you have no fears about her at all, my daughter is a Scorpio sun sign and she just needed her independence, which I gave at a distance. Think Hillary Clinton..
She is having difficulties in her fourth house which usually covers a parent (mother) and she is trying to establish her own boundaries. You have to trust that you have taught her well during the past 14 years and try to live back to the days when you were a teenager. But the planet Jupiter has entered the fourth house and this should be a peaceful years for her at home and with her surroundings, she will want to create a niche for herself, if she hasn’t already. Give her space and respect that she is old and smart enough to take care of herself.
She also has two fortunate planets in her 5th house of love, romance and creativity. and just when one planet leaves another planet will enter, she will be dealing with these areas for over 20 years. So hopefully she does not marry to young and have to many children. But it is a house of blessings for her so no tough times for her.
When my children were teenager, I constantly reminded myself about how I was and felt as a teenager and those memories help me when they were moody and completely turned off with the family.

Murphy when I grow up I am going to become an Aquarius.
My most favorite sign, because they seem calm, cool and collected. And it is true, they rarely cry.
Murphy you are going to have the best year ever future birthday girl.
Jupiter is in your first house, which means expansion in every area, so watch out for all those gourmet meals you will be invited to have with friends et al.
Then you have Uranus and now Venus in your 2nd house of money coming into you hands in unusual way. Do not be afraid to buy a small lottery ticket every now and then!
And then this year you will have Mars in Aries your 3rd house of COMMUNICATION, there will be no stopping you verbally, your communication skills will be increase and supported with gusto and bravado.
But then you have Pluto in Capricorn your 12th house of spiritual development and self undoing, so temper everything through you 12 house of Career/Fame and Public Standing… But you are use to this house, you have had Uranus 10 years ago, and Neptune 7 years ago.
One last thing if you can travel this year take your trips because when Saturn enters your 9th house of travel next year for 2 1/2 years, trips will be slowed down to a crawl or be non-existent..
So if anyone would like to take up Astrology as a hobby here is a good website to get you started to see if you want to go further, but remember it is just for fun, it gives you a broad picture of the possibility., ie.,
Possibilities if you are a women: you might be president of America or a corporation, have a brilliant career, fall in love, get married have children, get a divorce, or never marry and change your sex! LOL All possibilities…

Those are three I read when I read my horoscope for the day
taggles1 02.02.09 at 9:35 pm
Rising Sign is in 23 Degrees Aquarius
You like new ideas and concepts, but you prefer to discover them by yourself — it is not easy for others to convert you to anything. You form your own opinions, but once you do form them, you then want to convince everyone else that they are correct. Try to be more tolerant of the opinions of others. You have a deep and abiding interest in science, mathematics, and the great social problems of the day. Very sympathetic toward the downtrodden, equality is your battle cry! You demand that those in authority be fair to all. You are an intellectual — emotions and emotional people are difficult for you to understand. You are known for being calm, cool, detached and objective.

Taggles, Sun in Capricorn, Moon in ______, Aquarius Rising
taggles1 02.02.09 at 9:43 pm
Sun is in 29 Degrees Capricorn.
Extremely serious and mature, you are capable of accepting responsibilities and do so willingly. Others expect you to be dutiful as a matter of course. You tend to get angry when people get rewards after not having worked anywhere near as hard as you. You are goal-oriented and an achiever by nature — you’re a hard worker and are justifiably proud of the tangible results of your efforts. You tend to have “tunnel-vision” — this allows you to block out extraneous matters that might distract others and to concentrate totally on the matter at hand. As such, you are the ideal one to manage or administrate any ongoing project and to be practical and efficient at it. You are not a fast worker, but you are quite thorough. You are known for being totally persistent, tenacious and tireless in reaching your goals.
Moon is in 00 Degrees Libra.
Affectionate, warm and friendly, life must be a “beautiful” experience for you. Unpleasantness should be avoided at all costs. You tend to overlook other people’s faults and you would rather give in than fight. You are uncomfortable with strangers, but at ease and sociable with friends and associates. Indeed, you would rather socialize than work — you can use your prodigious charm to avoid unpleasant tasks. You need the support and assistance of another in order to get you started on any new project — you are not a self-starter. Be careful of a tendency to be overly self-indulgent (i.e., lazy). Your refined aesthetic sensibilities attract you to music, dance, art and any other cultured activity.

Sorry Telephone Call!
***The Ascendant reveals the means you will use to arrive at your future and it is a most significant part of the horoscope. It ties together on Earth the outward-going characteristics of your Sun and the unconscious emotional responses of your Moon.
***The Sun reminds you of the present and allows you to identify yourself immediately as a conscious being. It represents one’s spirit, ego, image of self and sense of aliveness. It represents your spirit, ego, self image and sense of aliveness.
The Moon reminds you of the past, shows you habit patterns, memories and subjective feelings. The moon represents one’s thoughts, intellect, and communicative activity. It represents your emotional nature, moods, feelings and caring tendencies.
When reading horoscopes you are advised to read both your Ascendant/Rising sign and your Sun sign.

Republicans want mortgage relief, larger tax cuts
By DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent David Espo, Ap Special Correspondent – 13 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Senate Republicans circulated a sweeping plan to drive down the cost of mortgages by expanding the federal government’s role in the industry, officials said Monday night as debate opened on an economic stimulus bill at the top of President Barack Obama’s agenda.
McConnell also said Republicans favor cutting the two lowest tax brackets as a way to ” put money back in people’s hands directly.” If adopted, that would reduce the tax rate from 10 percent to 5 percent for the first $8,350 in individual income for the current year, and $16,700 for couples. The tax rate would be lowered from 15 percent to 10 percent on income between $8,351 and $33,950 for individuals and between $16,701 and $67,900 for couples.
Obama and the Democrats favor a different approach. The legislation provides a cut of $500 for workers and $1,000 for working couples, even if they do not earn enough in wages to pay income taxes.
Separately, Democrats privately conceded they may wind up reducing spending that has come under withering fire in recent days from Republicans.
The $885 billion Senate bill is larger than the House-passed version, principally because it includes a one-year tax cut to prevent upper-middle income taxpayers from falling victim to the Alternative Minimum Tax. The so-called AMT initially was created a generation ago to make sure the super-wealthy did not avoid taxation, but inflation has expanded its reach over the years.
In all, the Senate measure provides for roughly $560 billion in spending and $325 billion in tax cuts.
Much of the spending is in the form of health care for the poor; education funds for the states to avoid the impact of their own budget cuts on schools, and more money for food stamps, unemployment insurance and worker retraining funds.
Additionally, the bill includes a down payment on two of Obama’s domestic initiatives. They include expanding health information technology and providing spending and tax cuts to encourage development of new jobs while increasing reliance of alternative energy sources.

I’m behind in reading the posts …sorry!
I wonder if Michelle’s job at the University of Chicago Medical center could be offered to Patti Blagojevich…. since it was so vital and warranted an annual salary of $317,000.
I’m sure she and Blago could use the money. OH BOY! I JUST PRAY THAT HE SINGS REAL PRETTY WHEN THE TIME COMES.
Just saying….

Casper, I was just listening to the news & a UN official was kidnapped in Pakistan, I think that Al Queda is active once again…I think the guy is still alive, we should pray for him & send good energy.
