Obama supporters are cheating. And winning. Again.
We are ruled by teenaged boys.
What a bunch of creeps.
“There are two kinds of humor. One kind that makes us chuckle about our foibles and our shared humanity — like what Garrison Keillor does. The other kind holds people up to public contempt and ridicule — that’s what I do. Satire is traditionally the weapon of the powerless against the powerful. I only aim at the powerful. When satire is aimed at the powerless, it is not only cruel — it’s vulgar.”
– Molly Ivins, via The Confluence.
Vote again today if you haven’t already. The wankettes and obots are cheating on THIS contest and THIS one. Vote against cheating by supporting The Confluence and Nice Deb. Vote for Uppity Woman because she’s Very Puma. Tell your friends.
Join The PUMASPHERE! Small bloggers and individuals are encouraged to join. To fight Swamp Misogyny we must make unity and being wonderful to each other our bedrock foundation.

The ACORN Obama Knows
By Michelle Malkin
June 25, 2008
If you don’t know what ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is all about, you better bone up. This left-wing group takes in 40 percent of its revenues from American taxpayers — you and me — and has leveraged nearly four decades of government subsidies to fund affiliates that promote the welfare state and undermine capitalism and self-reliance, some of which have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and encouraging voter fraud. A new whistleblower report from the Consumer Rights League claims that Chicago-based ACORN has commingled public tax dollars with political projects.
Susie1945 01.06.09 at 7:37 pm
Hi PUMAs – Was just over at Hillbuzz and they’re reporting that our old “stop the hate” Donna Brazille really, really, really, wanted to be DNC chair. Guess her ole buddy fraud threw her under the bus too after all she did for him……………..lets keep her at the far end with Wright, et al…………..still don’t wanna get too close to her and her stop the hate
BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I wish these boyettes would just finally “do” each other for real, instead of through their keyboards… I mean, that’s really what it’s all about for them anyway. Maybe they should just get honest with themselves.

Dances – no kidding! She is incredible…trained in opera and east german (the most INTERESTING women are the ones that grew up in E. Germany when it was still socialist and are around 40 or older now. They are very self confident, are educated & have careers, are kind of androgynous…)

off topic..posted at acorn blog …
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/10/27/indiana-official-seeks-criminal-probe-of-acorn/
(CNN) — Indiana’s secretary of state has requested a criminal investigation into the embattled community organizing group ACORN, which is accused of submitting hundreds of bogus voter registration forms in northern Lake County
======================
also posted http://politicalbloggersguild.typepad.com/georgiapoliticsdaily/2008/10/acorn-and-voter.html
One of the major problems is that people hired by ACORN to register voters are being paid per name, and with quotas to fill, they’ll do anything to get signatures, including bribing people who have already registered. One Ohio man, under investigation, was paid cash and cigarettes to register a whopping 73 times! Another Cleveland pizza delivery guy being questioned about the 10 to 15 times he registered to vote

Mountainsong, when I went to look at the prices for upgrading my memory, I was surprised at the prices for new computers. My favorite website is techbargains.com. From there you can see all the sales and find links to your local stores to read about their sales before you go. Several times I have walked into Best Buy or Staples and asked for the sale item when I didn’t see it. They either pointed me to a poorly marked item or suggested an even better substitute. You can also read the ratings before you buy, or check up on the reputation of the firm before you mail order. Some of them have great deals but terrible reputations.

Don’t really follow Oprah but fell across this article. Out of the U.K. as it calulates weight in ’stone’ but intrigued by this comment in the article:
“Bob Greene said he was alarmed at the change in the behaviour of the chat show queen, who has struggled with her weight throughout her life.
He said things got particularly bad in 2008 when she couldn’t shift the extra pounds.
‘I looked in her eyes, and she wasn’t there,’ he said. ‘She was very vacant and distracted. It was alarming to me.
‘I think I felt she was losing her zest for life, and that was one of the saddest moments”

*even, Pumasphere better
TrishfromCanada 01.06.09 at 9:05 pm
I believe th epumasphere is better because it is respectful and doesn’t tear the everyday person to shreds. It’s not created or affiliated with a grop of small minded people who live to post crude pictures and info about other people. ok, I’m going to end here because I am being polite, what I really want to say is it’s not managed by a bunch of wankers who sit around thinking they are so g*d d*mn perfect that they feel its ok to post sh*t about other people who don’t fit into their “ideal” images. Such as those on other blogs who live in their mom’s basement and eat kraft dinner thinking its a three course meal while surfing the net for their thrills.. ok ok i said i would stop now i will

I was thinking earlier that what makes us different is the constructiveness (not a word, I think, but you know what I mean) of the conversations, and obviously, of our Actions.
Aside from random and intermittent references to important personal events or situations (like bmw’s wedding
) we really dont talk here about anything other than our agenda and our mission.
after blogging for 4 years at Atrios, which is another supposedly A-List blog, I can tell you that that is extremely unusual. Honestly, the commenters at places like that are on an endless loop of stupid crude jokes, different ways of wishing death on W, and banal personal stories.
BORING BORING BORING.
KarenWI 01.06.09 at 9:16 pm
Well I really can’t compare, because I don’t have time for blogs… this is it. Between my support group of over 1300 people that I need to coddle (LOL) and settle fights in, and working full-times (or TRYING to), and taking care of mom, my days are pretty “sewn up”, LOL…..

They don’t. Wankers and rumpusroast are cheating…same pattern… have your readers write to weblog and have them invetsigate.
KarenWI 01.06.09 at 9:26 pm
airforcehusker, I own a Yahoo group called FuchsSupport which si a support group. This is ONE of the websites I designed to “advertise” it:
http://www.fuchsdystrophy.org
Fuchs’ Dystrophy is a rare (only 1% of us) eye disease that is potentially debilitating. The ONLY cure is a cornea transplant. I was almost blind when I had cornea transplants in both of my eyes.
Our group has over 1300 members from around the world right now. I not only have to hold their hands, and give them answers to their questions (information), but process applications, settle fights, etc etc etc etc…. LOL…. I HAD group co-owner but due to family health problems she’s stepped back now, so “I’m it”…
murphy 01.06.09 at 9:27 pm
Hello There Nice Deb!
your blog is great — I’ve really enjoyed visiting it. Yep — there’s cheating going on for sure.
We’ve saved screenshots of comments at wonkette and rumproast advising their readers how to cheat — and contacted the admin of the awards.
stay tuned.

Yes, Wankerette is CHEATING and yes they suck. What else is new…
Murphy, to answer your question regarding why liberals are misogynists–I don’t know, but they are. Liberals have NEVER been good for women. NEVER. They push a pro-sex agenda, and this is it. They are light upstairs, self-centered, beyond egotistical mostly empty pathetic creatures that prove Darwin isn’t perfect.
I am a RADICAL PROGRESSIVE. My term. It means I want change now. Pro-woman, Pro-Child, Pro-Animal, Pro-Good….wanna join?
The first time I read Wanker-ette I thought it had to be a joke, like a parody ya know. Then I realized it was “for real.” Reminded me of fraternity boys naked….mean, ugly, and perform best when inebriated and ALONE.

Perhaps the most discouraging part of that Wonkette blog is that it is represented in equal parts by both men and women. How women can partake in these vile assertions convinces me further that the feminist movement has been lost in an early grave.
It will take a lot of action to turn that group around. Pretty sad.

Pat–very true. These Wanker-women have decided that “strength in numbers” means joining up with the boiz at the kid’s table. Same ones who think that “expressing themselves” with provocative clothing and behavior is liberating and not enslaving. They’re after Uppity now, too — AND they’re making fun of the poor guy they’ve decided to endorse. honestly, effing brown shirts.
From Uppity:
“Ironically I never even knew who Wonkette was till two days ago when they did Confluence in. Somebody got a screen shot of how they were going to cheat using a particular site to go in and vote. I guess somebody reported it, but apparently it still works. This is so infantile, I’m laughing my ass off here.
Thanks Red Dragon, for the copy of this message.
From Wonkette:
Another “major” nominated PUMA blog this year in the category of “Best New Blog” is one called “Uppity Woman” (jesus christ) and it cannot be allowed to win. So we arbitrarily endorse another one called “~ synthesis ~” because it has a fun-lookin’ name. Vote “~ synthesis ~”, the best new blog in America.
Now here’s the message that’s on Synthesis’ site. The poor guy probably doesn’t even know what hit him.
You, by default of Wonkette chance, are the best new blog in America. Check the link. Congratulations.

What is a husker, anyway?
I watched Hannity and I noticed all the Repubs bashing MacCain for supporting the Bailout…That’s fine but BO supported it too and they forget to bash him for it. Grrr. C’mon Repubs-don’t get soft now!
And I hope Hannity’s show never has Colmes as a guest!
Well, ‘night all. Tomorrow, same place.

CAIRO, Egypt – Al-Qaida’s No. 2 leader lashed out at President-elect Barack Obama in a new audio message Tuesday, accusing him of not doing anything to stop Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip, according to an intelligence monitoring center.
The recording purportedly by Ayman al-Zawahiri was al-Qaida’s first comments on the Gaza crisis since Israel launched its offensive against the Islamic militants of Hamas on Dec. 27.
In the comments, which were posted on a militant Web site and obtained by the SITE Monitoring Service, al-Zawahiri described Israel’s actions in Gaza as a “crusade against Islam and Muslims” and called it “Obama’s gift to Israel” before he takes office later this month.
“This is Obama whom the American machine of lies tried to portray as the rescuer who will change the policy of America,” al-Zawahiri said, according to SITE. “He kills your brothers and sisters in Gaza mercilessly and without affection.”
Al-Zawahiri, who is Egyptian, also criticized Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, calling him a “traitor” for keeping Egypt’s border with the Gaza Strip closed since Hamas seized power.
“At the time when Israeli planes drop their bombs from the air, he closes the borders with his forces so that the plan of the killing of believers in Gaza is fulfilled,” al-Zawahiri said, according to SITE.
He urged Egyptians and Muslims around the world to pressure Mubarak into opening the border and to take a more active role in fighting Israel.
Thousands of people in cities worldwide have held mass street demonstrations to protest Israel’s offensive, but al-Zawahiri said those were not enough.
“Fight the Zionist Crusader campaign,” al-Zawahiri said, according to SITE. “Strike its interests everywhere you can reach them. Support and back your mujahedeen brothers and children against them.”
The audio message was accompanied by a still photograph of the al-Qaida leader sitting with a gun in his lap.
The recording could not be immediately verified, but SITE said it was posted on Web sites commonly used by Islamic militants. The recording also carried the logo for al-Qaida’s media production house, Al-Sahab.

Husker comes from the tradition of an agriculture state. Corn has husks which surround the cob and kernels. We received the nick “Cornhusker state” because of the rich corn farming which makes up much of the state identity. In around 1994 the Universities marketing division president thought it was to country or redneck to call the school the cornhuskers so they simply named it huskers for short. They felt it would look better on merchandise as well as be a smaller logo. Diehard nebraska fans will always be known as cornhuskers where as the newer generation is huskers. Hope that helped answer that question.

airforcehusker, I believe that most completely answered the question.
p.s. you are very sweet.
p.p.s. being as how you’re from Nebraska, have you ever heard of the band Bright Eyes? Conor Oberst is the lead singer — he’s a proud native of Omaha.
kind of alt-indie-pop-folk-rock-teen-hearththrob.

#97 airforcehusker… just think if it were you being told that you had a disease that you could go blind with- in both eyes- that the only cure was to have a deceased donor’s eyes; and that your kids could inherit it from you. That’s why this disease is so dead-serious, and why people join who are desperate. To try to keep SOME levity I have one member who is assigned to post a joke a day, but the rest of the time it’s serious. I tell people that they can get down in the pit of despair, but we’re going to climb down in there with them; and that they can only stay there so long before we drag them back up to confront what they have and start taking ACTION. That’s what my support group is all about, LOL. I don’t know if God is going to reward me or not… I just care about these people and their eyes, because I know all too well what it’s like to NOT be able to see anything except a blur of light and dark.

No i have note the more popular group that i know of from nebraska is a group called “Full Choke” They do alot of small town festival dances and those kind of venues. A mix of country and rock. But now that you mention Bright Eyes i must do some inquiring.

Karen,
I couldnt imagine what it would be like to be these people. It must be horrible. On the different note, my sister passed away three years ago do to a brain anuerism. It hit are family hard and i as the middle son who was closest to my sister took it the hardest. I do remember as her being a nurse she insisted in her medical records that she would have as many organs as possible donates to others in need if the situation ever arose. Well i remember them taking her coronaries. so maybe they where utilized in support for someone in your group that was in need of them.
Brings a small world to mind notion when you think about things.
airforcehusker 01.06.09 at 11:26 pm
Yes norma,
I am a cornhusker at heart as well as a detassler.
KarenWI 01.06.09 at 11:28 pm
airforcehusker, if they weren’t diseased in some way, they gave sight to two people who may have been in my group. I can see today due to the donation of two people who died and donated their corneas. We owe the Lions’ Club a HUGE debt of gratitude for running the EyeBanks around the world.
KarenWI 01.06.09 at 11:29 pm
We think of our corneas donors quite often… and speak of them lovingly….. so whoever got your sister’s eyes went from blind to SEEING again, and that is something that most people just don’t fully understand until they’ve gone through it themself. We are so grateful to people like your sister… two people are seeing today because of her generosity….

Hagen inspired me to locate this:
1931 recording of Seeräuber Jenny, Lotta Lenya, from Die Dreigrosschen Oper (ThreePenny Opera, Brecht-Weil).
More modern version, better audio, somewhat jazzier score.
airforcehusker 01.06.09 at 11:37 pm
YEs karen,
That is probably one of the most comforting things from her death. I never realized how much i would miss my sister until she left us. I will never forget the first night laying in bed crying like a baby and just having my wife hold me. So many things we all take for granted inlife but i realized right then and there that i would do everything i could to live me day like it was my last. I always take time to stop what ever i am doing when the kids come up and ask for help with something. I dont care how trivial it is. At work i am looked at like some sort of a jerk at times because i will not put my job before my family for anything. I see people worried about promotions and so forth but when i see them with their family (christmas party) they all look like lost souls.
I guess that is why i like everyone here. We come from all different back grounds, politics, religions, etc but in the end we are one family.

I’m not even going to try to catch up. Tonight is my regular night to meet and have dinner with my Haida elder. He been gone, having spent the last 3 2eeks in Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.
Hearing how the people who live there, who are not wealthy, have to live their livesmakes me mor grateful for how I get to live mine.
I really love him. However he has a hard time with me being PUMA, because he says no matter what our sex/gender, height, weight, location, we are ALL equal.
And he, very adamantly refused to see things differently.
We believe we can only change the world and the reality we live in one person at a time. And the only one I really have any control over enough to change is me.
So I led the discussion back to how we exert a positive influence to promote a willingness to change in others.
He says itis by believing in that you are intrinsically something with great capacity for good, and then live it so as to be an example to others.
Because if they can’t SEE it, then they prolly aren’t going to figure it out for themselves. The Creator brought us together at just that moment to experience the awareness of a possiblity, conceived here in this blog.
The possibility of working with someone to change the belief and attitudes of men. My mentor commands great respect because of the example he sets.
He trys to love everybody. To help anyone that is set before him in need. Pansy? Hardly! The man served 4 combat tours with Special Forces attached to CIA in Viet Nam/Southeast Asia.
I got him to nibble tonight and he said he would give it serious thought between now and next time. I asked how to reach more men. He said, “Man or Woman, set example of the change you want to see the world.” I said I would love to set an example that is much larger than the conversation between him and me. That I would like to carry the message. There are classes for girls and women everywhere, but not that many for boys.
He liked the idea of developing and implementing a plan to take a program in to schols and other youth organizations.

He told me of his recent experience after arriving back in Seattle at SeaTac Airport. e and his partner decided they wanted espresso, so stopped on HWY 99 on the way into Seattle.
The spotted a small place called the Spotted Cow. He and she both did a double take at the drive-up, when the woman leaned out the window to take their order, clad only in Victoria’s Secrets Bra and Thong.
He was really upset and said he would NEVER even drive on that street again. Then he got all worked up about how id people quit BUYING all that shit they advertize with sex everywhere, a lot of it would go away. Enough to begin getting people’s attention.
He said that people who buy it have no respect for women, not even their own mother, wife, daughter, sister, not even those who condemn it.
I’m excited to have such a wonderful relationship with this Shaman. He is a well-known and respected elder among Native Ameican communities all over the Pacific Northwest states and Alaska. He and one other perform most of the traditional ceremonies. And he calls me on ALL my shit. He supplicates with me to be the spiritual being I am. He doesn’t cut me any slack. We are all, each and every one of us, a holy person. We just don’t act like it and everyone of us is guilty of some character defect. But some recognize it and change their beliefs because they have seen the right way. They become willing to stand on the ground of their ethics that all are created equal; equally free, equally accountable. The karma of those who are ignorant about the Reverent Goddess called Woman, and fail to accord them respect, and love and dignified honor, will probably be condemned to come back as A woman.
We are all about what we have been taught and exposed to since birth. There is another way, the way of choice. The choice to have and live for values that make our life experience one of wonder, as a child views the world. I am talking with men. I make them uncomfortable. But some of them listen. some have genuine respect and love for all women. And SOME are willing to consider that. If it’s not in their face, it’s not something they are likely to think about on their own.
mountainsong 01.07.09 at 1:07 am
To be ‘equal’ means to be the same.
If all women are different, then we are the same.
And…………
mountainsong 01.07.09 at 1:21 am
I’m encouraged because I see that the change we crave is a process that is already happening. Not all men are sex-crazed abusers. Some are truly offended at the disgrace of the uncouth demanding they live without principle.
As with most of life, it is always easy to see and focus on the ugly, and unjust, and negative and lose sight of the idea that not all are bad. That both will always exist in our worlds because we judge everything as good or bad. Everything from our weather, our jobs, our children. so that it is like we are taught to make, the default everything we view as negative, or unacceptable. We become ‘angry’.
And no one likes to be around an angry person. At least I don’t.
My elder inspires me to be better because of his gentlenss and regard for life and love of the Creator. He is an example I choose to follow. I see a lesson in all this.
mountainsong 01.07.09 at 1:28 am
Once, I asked him how he could be so mellow after all the stuff he’s been thru.
He said he hangs out with that kind of people and talks to the Creator. I laughed. In a more gutteral way, he said, “In other words, I don’t ever hang out with Assholes.”
mountainsong 01.07.09 at 1:35 am
He also says that if men are respectable, then women will respect them…and if women are respectable, then men will respect them.
He said, “But, I have NO respect for that woman in the espresso stand. She doesn’t have to disrespect herself by dressing like that to serve others or disrespect us, who see no need for that in a world already confused.”
