Especially not about important things. When you’re surrounded by Yahoos who don’t even realize how susceptible they are to marketing campaigns and advertising messages (it’s always the “smartest” people who don’t realize how “dumb” they are — you know that new movie, “Milk“? Yeah, I want to see it too. You know why? Because the entire freaking film, from conception to writing to casting to filming to marketing, has been planned with me, and people EXACTLY like me, in mind. What’s the difference between designing an ad campaign to make some people believe that drinking Budweiser is patriotic and an ad campaign that makes other people believe that drinking Sam Adams beer is proof that you scored high on the SAT’s? Nothing.)
Wake up morons. We’ve been saying for months and months and months that obama is an empty suit, a puppet, a reincarnation of George W. Bush. Not a progressive, not a liberal, not transcendent, not transformational, not really anything except a very good actor. Every time he opens his mouth with the intent of making us believe that he speaks with authority, knowledge, experience or gravitas, the proper response from any listener with even two cold lonely brain cells to rub together should be:
Please. Obama is a second or third tier intellectual with no record of scholarship, leadership, or accomplishment. So far he’s made it clear that he will be slightly worse than W at leading the country. And like Bush, he traded his brain to the highest bidder in exchange for power, fame, and glory. The question that remains unanswered is, so who the hell exactly is in control of his brain? As Arthur Weasley, wise man that he is, once advised young Harry:
“Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brain.”
Exactly. Jeez, didn’t these idiots ever read Harry Potter for crying out loud?? Another Arthur who gets it is Arthur Silber — the man is thrilling in his righteous schadenfreude:
“I don’t buy Barack Obama as the Messiah. I didn’t vote for him (I voted for another Afro-American) and I haven’t filed an application to join his regime. He ran a duplicitous, multi-million dollar campaign that masqueraded as a social movement and because it was a gimmick and a shuck, will thwart and demoralize the re-creation of real social movement for years to come.
…
Eduardo Galeano does not get it. When he tells Amy Goodman that he has high hopes for El Baracko because black slaves once built the White House for which the president-elect is now measuring the drapes, he does not consider that Obama himself is a slave, a slave to Wall Street and General Motors and Big Oil and Big Ethanol, a slave to the War Machine and U.S. Imperialism and Israel, a slave to We’re Number One jingoism, avarice, and greed and the American Nightmare, a slave to the free market and free enterprise and free trade and the flimflam of corporate globalization, and most of all, a slave to the Democratic Party puppet masters who now move his strings.”via BostonBoomer.
It’s Thanksgiving eve today right? Can I hit the sauce yet? and I’m not talking about beating the lumps out of gravy.

TenneseePuma #14, previous thread – Just love Lesson in Economics you shared. Thanks. I have sent it to everyone I know. Laughs for Thanksgiving.
mzbest #44 – That link was very practical and explored the timeline of this investigation. Thanks. Frankly, I had never heard the theory that GWB might actually be “held hostage” throughout this with internal threats—very, very disturbing to even consider. It all suggests that (if true) our country is already lost. I hope it’s wrong.

Hiya Lin4Hill — what’s on your mind?
indy 11.26.08 at 8:54 am
My re-post from downstairs:
Good Morning,
This morning in my web surfing I came across this article on how the “neoprogs” (notyoursweetie called them that and I like it)are not as vocal with Obama’s naming Clintonites to his cabinet, as they would if it were Hillary doing it instead.
Here’s the link:
http://dissentingjustice.blogspot.com/2008/11/if-president-hilary-clinton-had-same.html
Also, mzebest #44 posted a must read, for anyone who missed it.
Good Morning Brian H., I already had my rye with ham. Smarty. Getting down to business, have you ever been on the Washington Note, Steve Clemmons’s website? He has some good insider info on different relevant topics. I went back last night and watched some of his videos being interviewed by the MSM. He seemed to side with MSNBC earlier this year, so I don’t agree with him on all issues. But, he does have some really good stuff. If you didn’t catch his article on the secret meeting between McCain and Obama in July 08, read it. It’s an eye-opener.
Lin4Hill 11.26.08 at 8:56 am
Hiya back, what’s on my mind is: 1) Where is everyone? 2)Why is the media blacking out info on Obama still? 3)Is one of our missions to continue pressure on the media? 4)Are we a force to be reckoned with? and 5) Do I have to feel guilty for continuing to dislike this man? and 6) Yes, I will melt marshmallows on my sweet potato souffle.
airforcehusker 11.26.08 at 8:56 am
I am going to comment again but this was in the bottom thread but is relative to this thread.
Obama one had 143 days of actually sitting in the senate. I look at this and think if this was me i would have completed basic training and technical school and bamm been appointed as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Think about that for a second and how it relates to your job. How many people here could go to a business work for only 143 days and than be given the CEO chair.
Some say this country is already lost i say i must agree. But the question is who is controlling these people.
I believe oboma was a proxy but why. Is it because hillary couldnt be controlled or mccain would have blew the wistle. What is the story and why are we left talking here but no one else is speaking this in the media. Worst off is that i am starting to get the feeling and this just isnt my obvious bias that he is going to be an utter disaster at a time that this country doesnt need it.

airforcehusker – re: the 143 days– it takes longer than that to grow a baby, and they still need support for years after birth.
To be an accredited school, a child has to attend (in my state)at least 170 days of the year. We all know BO’s plan was to step lightly and quickly through the Senate, do no major harm to himself, and let the designers of his presidency do their thing. It would have been so much more impressive if he had seized the opportunity to do good things instead of whining that he couldn’t get anything done, so he wrote two books instead. Even McCain has evidence that BO refused a wonderful opportunity to work in a bipartisan way. The man was too busy primping.

(Lin4Hill #3…lol.)
Well, yes, we have all been calling Obama a fraud for what seems like decades now. He’s always been a gimmick, and I’ve always said his “Yes We Can,” is like Nike’s “Just Do It.” One big propaganda scheme. The media was manipulated and everything was contrived.
Now, Obama’s background *is* far left, to the point of being anti-American–no doubt about it. But what matters is, do his “puppeteers” feel the same way? My feeling is that it could be yes and no, or who gives a crap. Insanely powerful people are ruthless and they do what they want regardless. (I know what Obama *wishes* he can do, so we’ll see if he gets what he wants. Puppeteers might agree with him.)
I’ve always said Obama was planted, groomed and boosted many years ago…I don’t know how, but it is just decided and then agreed upon, that certain people will become the next political star.
And Obama, well, I think he’s partly a sociopath, so power-hungry and arrogant–that he made promises left and right, broke the law, made deals–sold the very core of himself, just to get to the WH. I think he owes a large number of people, and yeah, I think some of them are *bad* people.
The only way Obama is like Bush, is that they are both puppets. Neither are republican. Neither are democrat. If we want to know who the republicans and democrats are, it’s really just basic American voters. The politicians are mainly just maniacs.

Thanks, Murphy….I was hearing an echo for awhile there.
airforcehusker – I wonder the same thing–when will the “others” wake up and see the huge blunder that has occurred? I can’t help but think this whole thing was accomplished because of the fear of being perceived as racist. So media and politicians, fearing the political fallout and economic boycotts that could have resulted from an anti-Obama position, squirmed and cowardly praised this unaccomplished man. You toss a stone in the well and it rattles all the way down–no water in this well. Now they will be busy creating the man he should have been in the first place.

Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing — imagine that.
When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.
Give this a try.
8 – 15 lb. turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER’S LOW FAT)
Salt/pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.
Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.
Listen for the popping sounds. When the turkey’s ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it’s done.

All of a sudden (when I had almost given up hope) my appraisal business is rocking! That means I am out on the road a lot, listening to music on my favorite radio stations and pondering the universe. I have been pondering the obvious for a few days now.
To me the obvious about the car companies is that lack of a national health care system has taken them down. The obvious is that with every automobile we have purchased from the big three in the last 30 years, we, as consumers, have taken on part of the responsibility of providing health care to a few people who are at the top of the manufacturer’s food chain, all the while, struggling to afford our own health care.
Further observations would tell me that the $25 billion they all seek could go far in funding a health care initative for ALL of us!
With this in mind: Why don’t we push the issue? Why don’t we ask the government to take over the health care of the nation, provide health care for the General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler people as part of a national plan, and forget the bailout? Why don’t we make this the center piece of the recovery effort by coming out of the shadows and proclaiming the truth? The truth that this crisis is not a manufacturing crisis as much as a health care crisis? That the propblem needs to be solved in its root cause, not at the other end?
Where is Obama and all his ‘health care’ minions now? The solution he had proposed in the campaign would have made this mess worse! Why not sieze the moment and come out swinging for the national health care initative that is the ONLY solution for this problem long term?
If anyone doubts that I am right, consider this: Chrysler’s Canadian operations are doing fine. Canada has a national health care system that works. Could there be a conneciton?
I have to go, but will check back. Give me input please!

Lin – I had an idea awhile back that I could just never get refined .. I wanted to prowl the media (now that the election is over) with a list of all of the important issues about obama that they refused to report on during the campaign .
I am just not satisfied with the format or all of the questions I had listed , and I want our prowls to be as effective as possible , ya know ?
If someone can come up with a really good media prowl – I would LOVE to do one . I get in trouble when I’m not prowling ..

Video of Proof of Forgery of Obama Birth Certificate.
video is short and the url on Youtube direct is

this is posted on Berg site today.
http://www.obamacrimes.com/
on the berg site he says of the video.
This video provides an analysis of Obama’s Certificate of Live Birth by Dr. Ron Polarik detailing the factors contributing to his conclusion that the document is not authentic. “Dr. Polarik” is a pseudonym and his identity is obscured in this video.
THIS PROOF OF FORGERY MIGHT PUT OBAMA INTO JAIL ALONG WITH OTHERS AS A CONSPIRACY. CONSPIRACY IS MORE THAN ONE PERSON.
The Polarik web site has much more detail on the forgery but the video is fast and gets to the important points quickly.

Very glad to hear business is good. Here in Mass home prices are way down, but sales are suddenly way UP — that is good news for appraisers and home inspectors and such because (I think?) as long as there are SALES you have work and fluctuations in price dont affect you as much. . .
so, great news!

texastiggers,
Its funny that you mention the newsmedia. My father in law who i spent the past two weeks with listened to me talk about obot. Only news he got was abc, msnbc, cnn and he thought oboma was like a god. It wasnt until i brought up the constitution and the birth certficate that he started having doubts. By the time i left i can honestly say he realized american made a big mistake. The only redeaming factore is that he didnt vote.

(Yes, good morning to you Lin4Hill.)
You know, I am not looking forward to Thanksgiving and I swear I might cancel. What am I supposed to say about politics? I was thinking, “I have extremely strong opinions on this matter, so…”…you know, smiling and then eyeing the republicans at the table, like “omg, Obama sucks”…
I mean, I just can’t even *begin* to talk about him and this past election. It’s soo much. Last family time, I think I just said, “Nah, I am not voting for him. He’s a fraud, this whole thing is a joke.” (lol)
Actually, there would only really be one true Obot there, and I am closest to her, but I have to say, I lost a lot of respect for her, which sucks. Ugh, I just don’t feel like going. I told my boyfriend to go with his family (which would be the first Thanksgiving we spent apart) so I actually have an easier out. Hmmm…
Wednesday night is usually eat out and get drunk with friends, then Thursday is family. That’s usually the drill.
Do we really have to celebrate Thanksgiving? Are’t we just so hungry over Native Americans cuddling up with smallpox blankets. Mmm! Genocide, I’m famished. (nevermind)

I know what you mean – I was telling my mom about that MTG. proposal that Brian had posted the other day and how I think it would really help people and she said “Now that the one you don’t like is elected , no one will have to worry . ” I informed her that he did not support that proposal and his housing proposal mainly focuses on protecting new buyers and it ended with her screamin and pealing up my drive .
These people have no freaking idea what his plans even ARE – he’s just going to “fix it” … WTF ?
It can all be traced back to the SCFP (see murphy) .
Lin4Hill 11.26.08 at 9:40 am
TT – popcorn turkey–hilarious. I think you also were the perpetrator of the “pregnant turkey” scenario the other day. I’ve shared that with family–great laughs. We need some nowadays, don’t we? Thank you.
—————
Henri – it might be interesting to research countries that do have a healthcare like you mentioned and determine if their economies are suffering as badly as ours. My daughter lives in France, where the health care is incredibly inexpensive (or free in some cases) and I just read where Sarkozy is planning to requisition a stimulus package for his country. Unemployment there is terribly high.
America appears to be unraveling at the seams from all sides. Our Federal Reserve is unlocking barrels of money to stitch it up, but we all know that isn’t the cure. Then you read the link posted (again by indy #11) and wonder what insidious, malevolent force is at work here in America, undermining everything…
Heneri 11.26.08 at 9:42 am
Murphy:
There is some thawing in the credit freeze, but overall, it is in consumer (borrower) confidence. I received my quartly Appraisal Review magazine from Appraisal Institute yesterday, and it tells me that the initative passed in July will have more to do with my own recovery (business has been down about 80% this year over two years ago) than the big bail out. HR3212 is where lenders can restructure loans with the guidance of hud/fha. Those loans will be made on the current value of the properties, not the mortgage balance. Lenders who are willing to reset the balances get some guarantees and subsidy to facilitate the restructuring. A glitch in the wording of the bill had to be clarified, but most lenders will be able to start rewriting those loans by the first of the year. There are about 800,000 of these loans nationwide that qualify. Only FHA certifed people will be appraising. I got my certification in 1988, and have maintained it ever since. So I am good to go. Now I just need to keep my name on all the access lists I can afford to list it on.
If things go well, I may be able to re-hire my secretary!

I just taught again (to my students) the story of the first Thanksgiving and how the Pilgrims had prepared fowl and deer and cornbread (from corn the Native Americans taught them how to plant) and they invited Massasoit and his tribe to come and share the feast. Massasoit came with 90 braves, and the Pilgirms feared they didn’t have enough food. The chief ordered his braves to immediately go hunt, and they brought back additional deer to add to the feast. That first celebration was really was about gratitude that they had surived, but acknowledging that they could not have done it alone. We’ve got some extremely tough times on our hands, and we have to survive, and we can’t do it alone.
So, I guess that’s what I’ll try to remember tomorrow–that I couldn’t have gotten through this election without all of you. I really mean that.
———TT re: media prowls. I wonder if they are turning a deaf ear to our pleas for truth in reporting. Yes, they are beginning to admit some of their sins, but they keep sinning. If they have inside knowledge, or know of security threats to our public if they rock the boat, then they will never acknowledge what we are screaming. The internet is the new media, but not everyone has it or knows how to go to the places where they can learn the other side of the story.
I would gladly participate in any media prowl. But I sometimes wonder if a good, old fashioned billboard placed on a highly traveled road would do some good too. If techies can scrub sites and info in rapid fire, how does one beat them at the pass? You go where they don’t travel.

I’m so anxious for the time when the cracks in their delusion appear. Now if we can manage to get through that dinner without a major argument- then I will be THANKFUL.
I think I’ll start off with that cow comedy posted by tenneseepuma- they will HAVE to laugh at that one.

Thanksgiving would be nice if everyone took a turn around the table and said what they were thankful for.
I think that would be really nice, and I’m sure some families do it. (Maybe others would think it’s corny.) My family says grace and then we just tell jokes and crack on each other the rest of the time.

TT- Sure. Here’s some of it:
The Great Birth Certificate Scandal/Cover-Up of ‘08
Analysis: Last week, newscasters reported that al Qaeda’s #2 terrorist disparaged the election of Barack Obama, and hurled racial slurs at Obama himself. “The report has not been confirmed by the State Department,” they all said, but they reported it anyway.
Fox News reporter Carl Cameron told viewers that three “anonymous” insiders of Sen. McCain’s campaign said that Sarah Palin was, in essence, a diva and a dunce. He – and dozens of others who picked up the story on other channels – never identified, or even verified, the sources of the quotes, but they reported them anyway.
Contrast these shabby examples of “journalism” with the legions of identifiable, verifiable and credible sources who for months have been investigating the disturbing allegation that Barack Obama is ineligible for the presidency because he has failed to meet one of the three requirements that the U.S. Constitution mandates, specifically that he provide proof of his “natural born” U.S. citizenship.
But what about the failure of the powerful conservative media – how to explain their total blackout of this story? Let’s look at their reactions:
Fox News: Total Silence. Did the healthy shares that Saudi Arabia bought of Fox influence the network’s non-coverage of this story? After all, it’s no secret which candidate the Saudis endorsed! We know that TV shows, including Fox, are on a seven-second delay, the better to bleep out offensive or inappropriate material. Doesn’t it strike Fox viewers as strange that not one of their outspoken guests, even once, mentioned this story? Who warned them not to?
Rush Limbaugh: Total Silence. Why has the Excellence-in-Broadcasting’s “Dr. of Democracy” – the man who eats sacred cows for breakfast – not touched this story?
Mark Levin: Total Silence. Why has this popular radio host, commonly known as “the Great One,” abandoned his well-deserved reputation as a Constitutional scholar to studiously not address this Constitutional issue?
Laura Ingraham: Total Silence. Here is another radio powerhouse and former clerk to Justice Clarence Thomas taking pains not to mention this case…not a word!
Bill O’Reilly: Total Silence. Yes, the guy who claims he’s “just looking out for the folks”…voiceless!
Sean Hannity: Total Silence. The iconic radio and TV host who tackles every controversial subject under the sun…missing in action!
I could go on and on, but you get the picture. The very people – the so-called loyal opposition – who should have been shouting this story from the rooftops for months on end went mute. Ordinarily they would be the first to tell you that our Republic has no more precious document than the U.S. Constitution – a document that set the stage for the greatest experiment in human freedom since the beginning of recorded history. People like me – and multi-millions of others – are aware of what happens when the “salami tactics” of tyrants are employed in the service of leftwing ideology.
SCROUNGING FOR ANSWERS
I’ve written several books, not one of them fictional. And thousands of articles, not one of them based on sinister suspicions or conspiracy theories. But the case of the U.S. media’s complete non-coverage of this major story has gotten me to speculate on what – or who – may be behind this phenomenon. What force could be so powerful as to silence our country’s putative guardians of free speech – the titans of the Fourth Estate?
Perhaps the mystery goes back to 2004, when President Bush won his second term in office and in his first press conference in the White House said that he had “earned political capital and intended to spend it.”
Then – suddenly and inexplicably – he went into a year-long hibernation. He rarely appeared in public and gave no major speeches. Finally he reemerged – albeit weakly – in late November or early December of 2005
Could it be that shortly after the president’s reelection, he and major government officials received highly credible evidence from America’s ruthless Islamist enemies that they had a number of devastating (probably nuclear suitcase) weapons – set up and ready to be activated in as many as six-to-10 of our major cities – unless he (the president) tacked left and played nice for the following two years?
Was America taken hostage?
The president, one could speculate, had only two choices: (1) play “chicken” and possibly sacrifice the lives of millions of Americans and the destruction of major American cities, or (2) opt for the lesser of two evils, the second being to pave the way for a dangerous Trojan Horse – qualified or not – to capture the White House.
Could it be that the media blackout of the most explosive story of any presidential election in American history has been choreographed by none other than the current POTUS – the most powerful man in the entire world? This would certainly explain why President Bush has not “been himself” since January 20, 2005. It would also explain why the all-powerful media have taken his marching orders – including the New York Times, which takes particular pleasure in undermining and sabotaging the president, even when it comes to national security issues.
If this happened, it would have had to involve the highest echelon in our intelligence services, who might have paid personal visits to publishers throughout the United States, as well as to top TV and radio executives, who themselves would have passed down iron-clad orders – to their anchors, broadcasters, even comedians – to follow the blackout order or face Draconian consequences.
On November 4 – Election Day – the Dow was above 9,000. It is now plummeting, suggesting that even the “globalists” among us prefer tax cuts and capitalism to tax hikes and not creeping but galloping socialism – or what the esteemed Dr. Jack Wheeler insists is fascism.
Buyers’ remorse is in the air. America has been hijacked. What a price we will pay if the Supreme Court and the Electoral College abandon their oaths to uphold the U.S. Constitution by capitulating – as the media have – to our enemies. God Save America!

cape hatteras, that may be true — a link would be great. if you have one will you post it?
There is no denying that Europeans brought smallpox to the New World however and that Indian people suffered enormously from it.

The Arthur quote is independent journalist John Ross (he covers Mexico and labor politics among other topics). I really loved his writing on The Chosen. My other favorite thing this week was C.I. talking about how Barack didn’t have small donors (a myth she’s called out for over a year) and illustrating how Amy Goodman and Allan Nairn willing lied on Democracy Now!: “Remember that when Allan Nairn tries to rewrite history on the corporatist War Hawk he helped install. Remember that Allan and Amy could play Look-At-Us-Only-We-Care-For-East-Timor to get some headlines (and CBS Evening News coverage) a little while back but they LIED and IGNORED Barack’s connections to East Timor. While raking Hillary’s advisors over the coals, the two who supposedly give a damn about East Timor were perfectly willing to stay silent about Barack’s advisors responsible for the slaughters in East Timor. There’s some revisionary b.s. going on online — including from the drug addict who’ll never work in that town again — and it’s not going to play. You’re not going to now act surprised that Barack’s a corporatist War Hawk. Nor, after having thrown leeches on Hillary day after day, are you going to get away with, ‘I never really said there was a big difference between them.’ You’re not going to rewrite history and get away with it. You lied repeatedly to install Barack. You better start praying he doesn’t declare war on Iran and praying hard because not only will that be blood on your hands, it will lead to some of the strongest criticism you’ve ever experienced and you’re already tawdry reputations will be slashed even further. It’s not that you were wrong, it’s that you lied. Repeatedly. And there is a price to pay for that.”

I am sorry but I do not forgive the ones who lied. Hillary was the best candidate and they ripped her apart to push Barack. They’re still ripping her apart. I do not forgive them. I have stopped subscribing to The Progressive, The Nation and stopped donating to both Pacifica Radio and NPR. Diane Rehm was the worst on NPR in terms of lying about Hillary and excusing Barack Obama. All the hosts of Pacifica shows were in the tank for B.O. and I’m not forgiving and forgetting.

Cape Hatterasm I know, I have heard it was a myth. Smallpox existed then, and it is highly likely (in general) that foreigners to a new land passed on disease to indigenous inhabitants.
I’m not too much of a pc person. The native Americans were virtually wiped out though…I mean, there’s no denying it.
DancesWithPumas 11.26.08 at 10:30 am
When I lived in the Bay Area, we used to tak ethe ferry to Alcatraz Island, and participate in the native American ceremonies that were held there on Thanksgiving.
kat in your hat 11.26.08 at 10:32 am
@ #57:
Oh, we both said “denying”…lol.
Yeah, see, that’s why if you ever get to see more than a few traditional native Americans in one place, you feel like you are witnessing something spiritual. Am the only one? You know what I mean.

I was web-surfing to see what the MSM was spewing about Palin having to campaign for Chambliss in Georgia. I wanted to know why she was sent from Alaska to rescue Chambliss. Didn’t the other governors at their convention, down-play her popularity with the voters. I loved when she called the naysayers “jerks” earlier this month. Anyway, to make a long story longer, I came across this interesting article on WaPo:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/25/AR2008112501889.html?nav=hcmodule
What do you make of this article?
kat in your hat 11.26.08 at 10:35 am
Dances, yeah, I remember something at Alcatraz about that when I went there. There was also a monument or a stone dedicated to native Americans there…can’t remember. Some sort of agreement of land…can’t remember.

Morning Pumas. I’m watching Tony fratto on C-Span to see if Lester asks him the question about he bc again today.
I’m intrigued by earlier comments about eating alot of food and going out to drink and eat the night before Thanksgiving. Why do you do that, is it to celebrate a long weekend.

after the prison was officially shut down (the buildings are still there), native americans occupied the island and claimed it as there own. Seems like that occupation lasted for some months, but I don’t recall now. They were removed, or left peacefully. The island is open to visitors, guided tours, etc. But, native american do, did (don’t know if they still do) make arrangements to have an “un-thanksgiving” ceremony there every year.
I stopped going when it became sexist.
(They would ask all menstruating women to go to another section of teh island “because the power of menstruating women overpowers the power of the pipe”… I thought, if that’s the case, toss the pipe, step aside, and let the menstruating women lead the ceremony! (shmucks)
airforcehusker 11.26.08 at 10:42 am
I will take a stab at why the oposition wont tackle this subject.
Fear. I am a huge fan of talk radio. I listen to all types and throughout the day all the time. But anyhow here is my theory. The last avenue for conservatives is radio. The left nows this. If there could find any reason to trash their objectivty or their reliability this would be it. They are more worried about coming up wrong on this issue. This would change if it came true but right now many believe that there is not way this could have possible happened. I think the talking heads are just waiting to see. They dont want to be branded as a bunch of jerks by the left and driveby newsmedia.
Just my opinion.
kat in your hat 11.26.08 at 10:52 am
MileyEast,
hello and welcome. We all feel the way you do about the media…it’s been insane. Yeah, I am not forgiving or forgetting either.
Dances,
thank you. Really, about menstruating women? Yeah–that’s too far. Gimme a break. Sounds like everything else in society. Women are so powerful. It scares so many.
(Hmmm, thinking of book Red Tent now…)
You pumas, I’ll be back a little later. xo

In my still searching for Palin article, I came across an article saying that Bill should get Hillary’s Senate seat, if the SOS goes thru. I thought that from the time her name was floated as possible SOS:

airforcehusker,
RMy post from http://pumapac.org/2008/11/25/monitoring-the-pumasphere/
I think an important on-going project (which we could do with dailypuma) is to collect urls of news stories (foreign and US) that are at least TRYING to be fair and accurate, and publish those at dailypuma. We need a really convenient alternative to lure people away from MSM sites. Some people avoid blogs because the blogs are heavily opinionated, and for every decent news story a blog picks up to promote, there are several other stories blogged as being bad examples.
For people who have only a few minutes for ‘news’ and want only the cream, we need a very simple site they can go to and see the days’ simple stories.
This would be a committment for a few people (or would need a lot of people) to supply links each day. Preferably people on the East Coast or overseas because of time zones. Or Alaska or Hawaii or some West Coast insomniacs.
The mechanic to start with could be a blog which could be appear on dailypuma’s portal to pumablogs. This would draw readers to dailypuma.
Re editorial decisions:
That’s a problem with such projects. Either somene is getting paid to vet the content, or they’re doing it for love (ie to promote their own side), or it’s some kind of mass voting thing which is vulnerable to mass bot voting.
I’d propose a few editors doing it for love — not a structured board but more like when a forum has several modertors. Posts (in this case links to stories) come in from many people and any modrator can approve or delete a post. Realstially, those who do the most work and take the most responsibility do most of the decision-making.

Well I broke down this morning and bought a turkey. 59 cents a pound was not bad. about $8 for a 13 pounder. I put it to thaw out now. I actually saw some store adv for lower prices. I think 47 cents and 49 cents. but no time to shop around for one turkey. hehe. After tomorrow the price will probably double.
Turkeys are really a nice gift. They are really low cost and made the center of a great meal every year. Well in those years when I don’t burn it. haha.
The most tender delicious best turkey I ever cooked was pressure cooked. It was fantastic. The next year I tried again. I threw in a frozen one and it came out still frozen. so back in and more messes. My only advice is to thaw it out first. They just do not cook as well when frozen solid.
I have always wanted to weigh a turkey after it was cooked. It seems to disappear in the cooking sometimes. A house full of hungry kids seems there never is enough turkey for them. Tomorrow will be a long day of eating. I have friends coming here and I am going over to other friends house. Apple pie and Pumpkin pie and stuffing are among my favorites.
Anyway I wish the most glorious happy day to every PUMA. And to Obama this might be his last holiday in freedom. I do not think they will go harsh on him. But I wonder if what he has done can be Treason. Seems to me going against the Constitution is Treason.
I hope Hillary gets the Presidency. It will be up to the Electoral College. If they give it to Biden I will shoot myself. I can just see it now at the local AA meeting.
“Hi my name is Joe B. I am the President of the USA. Let me tell you my story. but first how the hell do you guys go a day with a drink. Oh and I brought my friend Barack to the meeting. He says a snort of coke and he feels like he can be President. He keeps mumbling something about his Daddy.”

airforcehusker,
Here is a repost of my idea about a news source. http://pumapac.org/2008/11/25/monitoring-the-pumasphere/

I don’t see this as an official longterm pumapac project, nor a prowl, but basically a stand-alone project by a few interested people.
