in 30% Solution, Don't drink the koolaid

That’s how long it will take says Marie Cocco this morning:

Even if President-elect Barack Obama chooses Clinton as secretary of state, no ground will be broken. Clinton would be the third woman to hold the post. And there is no longer anything extraordinary in a president naming women to his Cabinet. Franklin D. Roosevelt did it first, when he appointed Frances Perkins as labor secretary in 1933. Since then, every president but Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy has named women to the Cabinet or to Cabinet-level posts, according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University. Bill Clinton holds the record: He appointed 16 women overall, and at one point about half of those serving in Clinton’s Cabinet were female.

But, we are invariably told, surely there are enough women moving through the “pipeline” of lower offices so that someday, some woman from somewhere will win the presidency or the vice presidency. Well, here is how things stand: Eight women will serve as governors in 2009, the same as this year. The proportion of women serving in statewide elective office actually has dropped since it reached a high of about 28 percent in 2000; it is now about 24 percent, according to the center.

The Senate will add one woman next year, bringing the number of female senators to 17. Ten newly elected House members are female. This means that as the class of 2008 enters the Capitol’s marble halls, it will include less than half the number of women who first won office in 1992 — the so-called “year of the woman.”

Including incumbents and newcomers, a record number of women will be serving in Congress, but still only 17 percent of its members will be female. This is where that record places us: on a par with the legislative representation women have achieved in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. The United Nations, which tracks women’s global political advancement, says that at this rate, it will take women in the developing world 40 years to reach parity with men.

Nice. We have two requests for information this morning. One comes from our friend Rancho, who asks:

Murphy, I know it’s early and you are probably not on,but I couldn’t sleep . Getting a bit anxious abt. Thanksgiving and all the O supporters coming to MY house for a “festive, celebrative” day on Thursday.

I would like to ask for PUMA help from you all . .
Some positive talking points around the dinner table. How did/is PUMA making a difference? WEEKEND THREAD? Dinner table talking points?

I AM THANKFUL FOR . . .

How many PUMAS didn’t vote for O.
How did that impact the McCain campaign?
What are PUMAS working on currently.

And the second request is this:

Who has a sledgehammer I can borrow?

New York women in Communications session, Geraldine Ferraro called for an independent study on how women were treated by the media during the election. The article is a little hard to follow, but it’s worth trying. Especially her point that Sarah Palin’s views had to be separated from her treatment in the media to determine how mush of it was anti-female. I’m paraphrasing, but that is sort of the gist.

Bonjour, everyone,
I have such strong ambivalent feelings about Hillary accepting to be namesed the US Secretary of State. On the one hand, it is a great honor for her, but as she should be the President-elect I don’t feel much happiness in her being nameed a subordinate to Obama. As they are saying, she would bring instant credibility to our foreign policy. But I still believe they need her powerful voice in the Senate, which is why I believe that if Obama chooses her, it will be to take that voice about of the Senate.

8

lilibet 11.21.08 at 9:17 am

At that annual meeting of world representatives in Switzerland a number of years ago, it was, as far as I know, the first time that it was suggested that Hillary might one day be President of the US. It was suggested as someone was introducing Hillary. I forget the Name of that meeting. Perhaps someone here can enlighten me.

9

lilibet 11.21.08 at 9:20 am

Correction to #7- take that voice “out of the Senate”.

PUMA Achievements

In essence, what PUMA has achieved is to stress the Obama Machine so that more defects are apparent. I was shocked when I saw how much money he had to pour into Florida to get his 3% margin. I saw almost $5 million go to the Fl DNC from his campaign fund and over $7 million from the DNC. I would compile these numbers, but the totals are not in yet. That is just through Oct. 15. Over $12 million (And I think BO had to cut a deal with Governor Christ to bring the ethanol business in here, too)! It takes quite a money machine to move that much money from it’s actual source to it’s destination. And the more they have to move, the more likely they are to make mistakes and become visable. Audit! Audit! And we need to look at the state DNC’s, too.

The American Public cannot claim ignorance about BO’s questionable affilliations and lack of qualifications. Because WE told them. We did not allow them to silence us. They will stay in their denial as long as they can. The stock market has gone down consistantly since election day. BO has appointed the SOS (Same Old $#*%) for his administration. Now, they are saying,”Well, give him a chance, he is not even in office yet.” THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY: Doing the same old thing that did not work before and expecting to get different results.

So, ask your O’bot friends who have children how their kids are going to serve their mandatory civil service. Singing Obama songs? Ask them what happened to universal health care. Ask them if George Soros is going to share some more of his wealth or if they are going to share theirs with him. (Bush already got all mine).

howard dean said last week that the “agony of women, especially of my [Dean's] generation, has been the most under-reported story of this election.” He went on to say that many women over 50 were facing the reality that a woman may not be elected president in their lifetimes.

disingenuous, brazen, and downright Rovian though Dean’s remarks may be — he is absolutely correct.

12

jenniforhillary 11.21.08 at 9:37 am

SOS is not an honor, it is a broom and a mop and a maid’s outfit (just MY opinion)

Couple of things to tell OBOTS: winning is not the only benchmark of victory, FIGHTING and not giving in is an achievement greater than victory because it is only by being able to do this that victory is even possible.

That being said, Mr. Prez-elect has already appointed MORE washington insiders than G. Bush, the ecomony has already tanked, and he just committed the troops to 4 more years in IRAQ.

I think Murphy said it best, this chump is only into chump change. FLIP IT BACK ON THEM. I would end with this ditty, “so, have you gotten your mortgage paid off or your car note? Gotten that check for food yet?”

Winning is being a PUMA, nothing else matters.

And Dean can knaw on a turkey neck this year….may his own words get stuck in that craw…

13

lilibet 11.21.08 at 9:38 am

I just went back to yesterday’s blog since not much was happening here and saw the article that Murphy mentioned about an enhanced role for Hillary in the Senate if she does not accept to be US Secretary. I believe that is exactly why Obama wants her out of the Senate.
Murphy, what do you think about a prowl to Senator Clinton urging her NOT TO ACCEPT the job of Secretary of State?

11Murphy: Yes, he is correct. Yet, what, as we know clearly, he did not say, will not say, can not say for the hypocrite that he is, is that He, Howard Dean, Executive Directior, of the Usurped Radical Socialist Democratic Party , is, in fact, one of the primary reasons why in this time, at this election,a woman, Hillary Clinton, was demeaned, maligned, debased, and treated with abuse and indignation, by him, and his cohorts doggegely, and purposefully. This, Howard Dean,
for this..you and your kind will forever be hele responsible in our memories, our hearts, and our wills, as we continue to undue that which you bound deeper, dirtier, and with utter disgust: THE AGONY OF WOMEN. And for this, you will, indeed, pay to the memory and practice of each man and woman who will reclaim this Party and relegate to you the utter trash heap upon which you so dutifully threw each of us.

Krugman this morning has a pretty calm, rational look at it. What he claims, and I’m afraid he is 100% correct, is that the issue IS complicated — the causes are myriad, and the UAW bears some of the responsibility, BUT, the issue is now a political football — dems stupidly dithering and repubs cruelly strategizing (what else is new), and the situation is not being treated with an iota of the amount of SERIOUSNESS, PANIC, OH MY GOD WE MUST ACT, that the wall street bailout.

and that REALLY burns my oatmeal.

It just now hit me that we have a project to do now.

If SCOTUS declares Obama as not a Natural Born Citizen then we should be organized to petition the Electoral College members. Each and everyone of them to vote for Hillary. There will be almost no time between SCOTUS declaring Obama not eligible and the Dec 15 meeting of EC to actually vote.

Someone needs to try to get all the names and addresses and emails of ALL Electoral College members so we can flood them with mail and email telling them why Hillary is the best choice.

PUMA is uniquely situated to do this. NOW is the time to get the names and addys. Part of this work has already been done over at another site. but I have trouble getting around on that site.

we might try the site map at http://americamustknow.com/sitemap.aspx

wait a minute the below one has done some work.

http://wethepeopleusa.ning.com/groups

some people here have obtained contact information on most of the Elect College members in many states. I do not know if this has all been brought together. I really do not like the organization on this site as I get lost all the time. And I can not figure out what is going on here.

Rancho – When your O supporting guests invariably start talking and gloating about O, matter-of-factly ask them:

“On which of O’s accomplishments, did you base your vote for him?

I’ve asked O supporters on many blog sites that question and I’m still waiting for an answer.

Here’s another good one, I saved it from someone’s post here:

Name ONE national office candidate EVER who has sealed and refused and blocked access to ALL documentation of his/her life and career, from birth through residence through school through university through employment and medical through political career — prior to Barack Obama. Waiting…..

Murphy:

Dean has guts, but he’s right. We can thank our own gender for that. (I had typed the MSM, school curriculum and attitudes, and the good ole boy network, but it starts with us)

We can only let others walk all over us if we allow them to do so. Fool us once shame on them, fool us twice shame on us.

First, the females on the left said it was the war that made them side with Obama (even though Hillary said she would pull out the troops immediately). So who does he pick as his VP? He picks (pro-war voter)Biden. McCain picks Palin and then the excuse changes to “she’s anti-abortion.” (When I write females on the left, I’m only talking about those who drink the Obama Koolaid)
Those women don’t have a clue. They think they’re smart, but they out-smarted themselves but they don’t even know it. Clueless.

Anyway, that’s my take on this issue.

#25Murphy: She will have no leadership role, Murphy. It will be perfunctory. She will be the face and mouth around the world of the perverted and concessionary “world citizen”
“one world”, world policy of the amoral, Alynskyite, Baruk the Crook, as he piece by piece delivers before our very eyes this country to the same level playing field of other globalized countries, pillage of their labor, their resources, and their standard of livings for the sake of the haves and the have mores. The offer of SOS, with the concommitant rejection by Reid, and Obama of any significant Committee Chairmenships or the creation of another role..a real clear signal of like hell you will have any power to effect changes we do not want in legislation, marks the final card in the ultimate plan for demise by these renegade radicals of her powers and influence for years to come,
What will she do when she disagrees with him? Resign…?
No. Imagine that repercussion in the press. He has her, if she had any, by the you know whats…They want her blood, her body, and they want her finished.

36

lilibet 11.21.08 at 10:17 am

Perhaps Hillary is weighing how many friends she still has in the Senate. Senator Reid certainly would not be one of them, but I believe there may be many who still desire to see her succeed including probably most of the Republicans who cannot stomach Senator Reid.

37

NewOrleansPuma 11.21.08 at 10:17 am

39

TexasTigress 11.21.08 at 10:19 am

Murphy – it is sooooo complicated , and there is more than enough blame to go around .
When it is completely dissected , the fact is that the big 3 do not want to build cars in North America – period . They have done everything they can to set their plants up for failure . I have seen it with my own eyes .
It is so much more profitible for them to build cars in country where they don’t have to pay a living wage , healthcare , follow environmental standards , worker safety , child labor laws , etc.
Make no mistake , however , those companies have thrived on the backs of the workers and it is not the workers who are to blame . People get pissed because GM provides healthcare and the whole time they are bitching because they don’t have healthcare ! You know why GM’s healthcare costs have gone up ? Because they have made the work so hard and so dangerous since they did away with assembly lines 10 years ago , people get HURT everyday .
I say – screw them – but they have a responsibility to the workers and retirees to whom they owe their entire existance .
I was looking at my great grandmothers GM ID card last night from 1944 – during WWII , and I was thinking – these women were told it was their responsibility and Patriotic duty to go into those plants and work in horrible conditions and they did . They did it without complaining . They worked hard and long , and they did a good job . They kept the country running while the men were at war . Then , as soon as the war ended . They were told , we don’t need you anymore . Some were allowed to stay on , but the ones who were let go never got their own retirement . They have their husbands retirement to live on . So when I hear people talking about how we need to cut the benefits of the retirees , I get more than a little pissed off .
Further , the UNION has been at ther forefront of every social movement in this freaking country . Black people had more rights and equality in the plants before they ever were recognized as being equal in this country thanks to the UAW . WOMEN receiving EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK was forced on the country by the UAW . Domestic Partner benefits ? UAW ! I’m not saying the Union has been perfect , it hasn’t , but before you want to bash the Union and the workers – learn the facts , check your civil rights and your paychecks then we will talk .

Not much time today, I have all sorts of deadlines, but I have some observations as well.

I am trying to keep track of who is being considered for this or that and who gets the jobs. And I am trying to think back to when these particular people endorsed ‘the one’ and how they wove the web. Hillary was (in my opinion) bribed (for lack of a better word) into campaigning for O by being promised this position. Richardson was obviously already thrown under the bus twice. Once as VP and now for SS. Serves him right, but we know he was just a toilet paper man.

Anyway, I would not be upset with Hillary taking the SS job if Bill would be appointed to the Senate to fill the rest of her term. I dowbt that will happen, but this world is so strange these days that anything is possible.

Supreme Court Justices To Review Obama’s Citizenship
Email This Post November 20, 2008

Tagged: 2008 elections, Barack Obama, Barack Obama citizenship, Leo Donofrio suit Obama, Supreme Court to review Obama citizenship

Leo Donofrio is a citizen, patriot, and just may save our asses from an Obama presidency. Leo was the guest of Right Soup’s buddy Lan Lamphere on his show Overnight AM Tuesday night and last night. Leo spelled out his lawsuit which was set today for “conference” December 5th, with all 9 Supreme Court Justices. You can listen to the streaming show here.

Donofrio’s suit is different from Phillip Berg, Andy Martin and Alan Keyes‘ lawsuits…all of which are seeking a certified copy of Barack Hussein Obama’s birth certificate. Donofrio’s case challenges President-elect Barack Obama’s name on the 2008 election ballot citing questions over his citizenship with regards to his “natural born citizenship”. Leo Donofrio’s website has the full details.

It’s the questions over Obama’s citizenship in this light that are important, for they deal with the fact that Obama is not a “natural born citizen” as defined in the United States Constitution. The framers of the Constitution made a clear distinction between “natural born Citizens” and all other Citizens. The essence of this distinction lies at the heart of the controversy facing the nation today. The question the US Supreme Court needs to answer, is which Citizens fall into the category of “natural born Citizens”, and which Citizens are not eligible for the office of President. Barack Obama admits at his official website, fightthesmears.com, that at the time of his birth he was a British Citizen a well as a United States Citizen.

It seems impossible that the framers of the United States Constitution sought to allow future Presidents to serve who were born subject to the British Monarchy, considering that they had just fought a bloody revolution to escape it. The framers themselves deemed it necessary that they themselves be eligible for the Presidency in the early years of our infant nation. So they included the grandfather clause in article 2, section 1.

“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; …”

They did this because they, having been born British Citizens, were not not “natural born Citizens” themselves. Barack Obama, obviously, is not covered by the grandfather clause, and as he was born a British Citizen- can not possibly be a “natural born Citizen” of the United States. This is possibly a much weightier issue than Obama’s birth certificate, and is likely why the Supreme Court has decided to hold a conference on the issue. You need to know how very rare it is for a citizen to have successfully made it this far with a suit.

Conferences are private meetings of the justices at which they review cases and decide which ones to accept for formal review. If four of the nine Justices vote to hear the case in full review, oral argument may be ordered. The conference is scheduled for December 5, 2008, ten days before the meeting of the Electoral College. The protocol for the Justices’ conference is as follows:

No outsider enters the room during conference. The junior Associate Justice acts as “doorkeeper,” sending for reference material, for instance, and receiving it at the door…

Five minutes before conference time, 9:30 or 10 a.m., the Justices are summoned. They exchange ritual handshakes and settle down at the long table. The Chief sits at the east end; the other Justices sit at places they have chosen in order of their seniority…

The Chief Justice opens the discussion, summarizing each case. The senior Associate Justice speaks next, and comment passes down the line. To be accepted for review, a case needs only four votes, fewer than the majority required for a decision on the case itself. Counsel for the litigants are directed to submit their printed briefs so that each Justice has a set several weeks before argument

Please take the time to listen to Leo Donofrio’s interviews with Lan Lamphere on Overnight AM. They are a must-hear for everyone. Leo is a true patriot, extremely humble, an intelligent fighter, and a believer that our Constitution must be defended at all costs. And…Leo has the best shot of anyone right now to stop a Constitutional Crisis that an Obama presidency would cause.

Speaking of our economic downturn, this from the LA Times:

CHINA ON THE BRINK

“The lack of democracy in communist China is leading to direct action as anxious workers, fired in the wake of the worldwide economic meltdown, are taking to the streets to protest. As John M. Glionna of the Los Angeles Times reports from Beijing, “Chinese economists say that rising wages throughout China have led many laborers to expect better working conditions and residents to demand a more accountable government.” “There is no channel to allow people to express their will. They lack the right to speak, the right to organize and unionize to represent their interest, therefore they can only use an irrational way by demonstrating or rioting to solve problems,” said Hu Xingdou, an economics professor at the Beijing Institute of Technology. So far the Chinese authorities have been wary of crushing the “irrational” protests.”

When we express our right to speak, it falls on deaf ears, anyway!

President Clinton would never take a Senator appointment. Why would he???
He is comfortable and happy in doing his global initiative work. He would be an asset to Hillary’s work as SOS, but I believe she would still be more effective if she stays in the Senate. However, after she weighs all the pro’s and cons, I believe that she will make the right decision for herself, even if we don’t agree with the decision.

President-elect Barack Obama’s advisers have indicated that his administration will impose startling and unprecedented regulations on the economy.

The Obama administration would act quickly to implement the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed controls on carbon dioxide, which amount to a massive new energy tax. Why do they want to move so quickly? They say their rules are in response to the dangers posed by global warming.

But the truth is that these rules would hurt Americans by driving up gas prices, food prices, transportation costs, and the price of manufactured goods. This greatly outweighs the negligible benefits the regulations might provide the environment.

This intrusive regulation will cost the American economy nearly $7 trillion dollars in lost GDP in just 20 years, and result in massive job losses. Heritage’s respected Center for Data Analysis estimates non-farm employment losses will exceed 800,000 in some years, and manufacturing jobs will plummet. Some industries would lose over half of their jobs. (Some liberals claim that environmental legislation such as this could add “green” jobs, but these new jobs would be offset by larger losses elsewhere.)

Government permits would be needed to expand small businesses and build homes, hospitals and schools. To add insult to injury, foreign competitors will not have to abide by these regulations, leaving American businesses at a disadvantage.

In times of economic uncertainty, the last thing American workers, consumers, and families need is more tedious regulation and costly obstacles engineered to limit and tax American economic growth.

This makes me feel so sad, boo-hoo:

“So how’d that $20 million party at the new Atlantis hotel in Dubai go last night? Its fireworks display could be seen from outer space, Kylie Minogue performed, and Nobu Matsuhisa cooked. Samantha Ronson (referred to, by Bloomberg, as Lindsey Lohan’s “DJ friend”) mixed 1980s pop music, and Michael Jordan, Janet Jackson, and Mischa Barton rubbed shoulders with Middle Eastern oil titans. The Atlantis boasts a 1,500 rooms, a dolphin bay, a water park, and, at $42,000 a night, quite possibly the world’s most expensive suite. And yet, despite its excesses, might the party have signaled the end of an era? The state-owned company that paid for half of the party is in need of capital restructuring, according to a Citigroup report. According to Bloomberg, “The ‘Dubai dream’ may be over as lower oil prices will leave smaller fiscal surpluses among its crude- exporting neighbors to invest in the emirate. (From Bloomberg News)

I guess the party’s over, all over.

What and who will be appointed to the Senate to fill out Hillary’s term will be an Ojingo supporter, certainly and without doubt…Thus, that important state would be lost to the gains of these radical sleze balls of a regime. And, would receiive the financial support of the same money printers that supported Ojambo in a run for that seat when it comes due again. They have boxed her up like a frickin Care package to Mars.

Murphy:

I read an article that really got me to thinking and I hope I can explain how it applies to the post.

The Article is called “The Grammar of Male Violence”. It was written in 2004.

One of the points in the article (which I now see a huge) is this:

We continue to try and measure the ‘number of female victims’ instead of the number of ‘male perpetrators committing violence against women’.

————————-

Once I “SAW” the magnitude of this (looking from a personal and then a U.S. and global perspective) I thought, HOLY….!

“We, (females subjected to abuse, sexism, misogyny) are constantly having to prove OUR numbers, experiences, affects.

Why aren’t we COUNTING THE NUMBER OF MALE PERPETRATORS?

Why are we not broadcasting the hell out of HOW THEY ABUSE WOMEN?

Why are we putting the FOCUS where the problem lies on THEM AS PERPETRATORS OF ABUSES TOWARD WOMEN instead of us as “victims” of their abuse:

Once again, women not only get the “weaker” label – we get slammed for calling ourselves “victims” of such abuse.

Why do we allow the whispering of “Perpetrator” and the mockery of “victim”?

Let’s count the fucking number of perpetrators of Abuses against women for a change and we won’t have to struggle so much to estimate the number of “victims” – I guarantee!

Let’s call those MALE JOURNALISTS WHAT THE FUCK THEY ARE – PERPETRATORS OF ABUSES AGAINST OF WOMEN!

Are we not simply allowing them get away with a slightly more sophisticated version of those that abuse and violate women in places like Afghanistan?

See what I mean? NOBODY WAS LISTENING TO – OR HEARING MY CRIES WHEN I WAS A CHILD BEING SEXUALLY ABUSED EITHER! Our society is deeply, historically conditioned to muffling its ears when it comes to “victimization of women”!

Let’s start counting the numbers of PERPETRATORS in our society for a change!

========================================
I agree. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. GM moved makes parts in Mexico on the border in the 80’s. They paid the workers 1.00+ to 2.00 an hour. They don’t have to worry about the EPA. There was a high percentage rate of babies born with open skulls and no brain. Trico windshield wipers, Black & Decker, and Ray Ban are also involved in the polution. The people of Mexico are in need of jobs, but the enviromental waste waste is a hugh problem, but the companies can get away with it. Not to mention these people work work much more than a 8 hr day, 5 days a week.

lillibet gave me a thought with her last post.

Could you imagine Hillary taking the SOS post, then Bill taking over her seat in the Senate. He is so sharp and smooth, he would reek havoc in those Senate chambers. He’s not soon to forget what her colleagues did to Hillary. And Obama would really have his hands full. Also Bill’s a centrist and wouldn’t go for O’s socialist agenda. Oh, and Hillary would be globe-trotting, so she wouldn’t have to listen to O’s complaints. “What’s that Mr. President, I can’t hear you. We must have a bad connection.”

Imagine!

I have said forever: PUBLISH THEIR NAMES, WHERE THEY LIVE..IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BOOK THEM ALSO AND PUT THEM IN JAIL//
Why don’t we? Who runs the Justice system? Do we? If we did, a hellava lot of child support would have been paid that has not been. Who writes the laws? Women? No…Murphy has stated the percentages at the national levels…
No…won’t back down…you are correct…let us reverse the language here..CALL THEM OUT FOR WHAT THEY ARE..
Now, that would be a significant change and effort begun and effected by this Pac…now, over time…yes.

The epidemic of female victims of abuse is far surpassed by the numbers of PERPETRATORS:

Those that commit it;
Those that commit it by justifying it;
Those that commit it by ignoring it;
Those that commit it by taking pleasure in hearing about it;
Those that commit it by scoffing at it;
Those that commit it by having no clue as to its affects upon women, our children and our society as a whole.

I agree. She is between a rock and a hard place. In the senate, she will be stifled (Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Kennedy) all will make sure she remains the junior senator. They will use to her to do the hard work, produce the Health Care Bill, and then take credit themselves (Kennedy). Why is he still around? As the SOS, she will be under Obama’s thumb, but I count on Obama’s ignorance to carry her through. Obama cannot count on Biden to help him (that has been proven, Biden will be sidelined), so he will turn to Hillary for policy direction. He will take credit for it, but a strong SOS (and Hillary is one) will get the visibility (case in point, Baker). It will be Hillary whose name will appear. Obama will be too busy with the recession. And we need a hawk to keep Osama Bin Laden in his place.

Anyone have any advice for Rancho?

How should she deal with Obot, or at least Ofriendly, family and friends when they visit on Thanksgiving?
+ + + + + + + + + + + + +

This one is easy. Easy to give advice and Extremely hard to follow the advice. It helps to recognize the real problem is ALWAYS US not them. We need to STOP TRYING TO CHANGE OTHER PEOPLE and simply accept and love them just as they are. Let go of all ideas of OBAMA. DO NOT DISCUSS POLITICS AT ALL. NADA. Do not try to convert relatives to our political position. Just love them as they are.

The real problem is that we want to change them. Give up that desire to change them. Allow ourself to change. We change when we go from desire to change others to no desire to change others.

This change is a move toward LOVE. Love is accepting people just the way they are. Love gives them the freedom to be Obots.

I met a friend Wednesday who I have not seen in a few years and he said he voted for Obama. I was totally accepting. Heck the election is over. No sense in arguing after the election is over. He wanted all he could get of the redistribution of the wealth. He plays the system getting things for free.

Andy Martin calls for “national disunity”

Republican leader Andy Martin says this is a “time for national disunity”

We must become the loyal opposition today, loyal to the Constitution and not to the pretender, the Emperor Obama I

Martin says that a president who won’t release his birth certificate is an illegitimate leader

ANDY MARTIN

Executive Editor

ContrarianCommentary.com

“Factually Correct, Not

Politically Correct”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ANDY MARTIN CALLS FOR “NATIONAL DISUNITY”

LEGACY OF POPULAR HOSTILITY TO BUSH WILL NOT LINGER BEYOND HIS TERM, SAYS MARTIN

HOW CAN WE TRUST A PRESIDENT-ELECT WHO IS AFRAID TO RELEASE HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE, ANDY ASKS?

“LEGAL OPPOSITION” BEGINS TODAY, CONTINUES IN HONOLULU NOVEMBER 18TH

ANTI-OBAMA AUTHOR BECOMES “LOYAL OPPOSITION,” LOYAL TO THE CONSTITUTION

(CHICAGO)(November 5, 2008) As these notes are finished the winner of the presidential election is Barack Obama. McCain has surrendered.

Senator John McCain spoke graciously, “congratulating” president-elect Obama. But he did not call for “national unity” as the liberal cable TV bobbleheads were demanding.

The sweetness of Obama’s victory will not linger beyond the morning dew. The bitterness Obama will generate in the days ahead will linger for the next four years.

Nine years ago I broadcast an ad that said “George Bush wants to bomb Iraq.” The Bush Brothers, Jeb and George, attacked me. I was the first name on the new president’s enemies list. But I had warned the American people. I knew Bush would be a disaster. I never anticipated just how great a disaster. In 2002 I spoke out and marched against the invasion of Iraq and called it a folly. I was one of the first to report the failures in Baghdad, from Baghdad, where I spent most of 2003.

Today the Bush Dynasty is a shambles, totally defunct. He leaves a legacy of disgrace.

The Bush legacy will be a bitter one, bitter for Republicans because it disrupted and destroyed their party, and bitter for Democrats because their party was misled into electing a Marxist-Leninist who will prove as toxic to Democrats as Bush was to Republicans. I worked in the 89th Congress. I saw President Johnson’s landslide of 1964 reverse itself in 1966. “Change” is coming to America. In 2010. Ultimately, the Bush legacy will not be a lingering one. Bush will be remembered as a decent man who was betrayed by his closest advisers.

The bottom line: I am a Republican, but not a Republican who puts party above national interests, or partisan devotion above the Constitution. I have been a corruption-fighter and reformer since my days at the University of Illinois. I will remain so.

Today I am pleased and proud to be the first name on Barack Obama’s enemies list, and to brand him the “Illegitimate President.”

Senator Obama’s victory is a hollow and illegitimate one.

He won by undermining our democratic institutions and by reintroducing dirty money into presidential campaigns. There can be no accommodation with a president who was elected with hundreds of millions of dollars in clandestine campaign cash.

Today I also become a leader of the loyal opposition that will stand against the policies Senator Obama supported during the campaign. The election may be over. The battle for America is just beginning.

Here is the first draft of our essential, basic truths:

There can be no accommodation with a president who refuses to release his birth certificate and establish his true identity.

I do not congratulate Mr. Obama on his illegitimate victory; I reciprocate his contempt for the American people by being contemptuous of his “victory.” Obama is a pretender to the presidency. Fool us once, Obama, shame on you; fool us twice, shame on us.

If ever there was a time for national disunity, this is that time. Preparations must begin immediately for the inevitable victory in 2010.

There can be no accommodation with a man who claims his victory is “righteous,” and that his opponents are evil. I will not demonize Obama but I will not allow him to demonize his critics either, by cloaking his claims in false piety.

John McCain tried to play by the rules and he got screwed. I congratulate Senator McCain on the final result. I stayed loyal to him to the end. Given the fatal errors he made, he did extremely well and limited the ultimate, long-term injury to the Republican Party.

Now we must defend the Constitution and prevent Obama from undermining our institutions and establishing an electoral dictatorship similar to that of his hero Hugo Chavez in Venezuela.

Sadly, Republicans are better at playing defense than they are at running an offense. That was why they did so well in 1995-2001, and why they have done so poorly since then. While I recognize Obama’s illegitimacy as a political leader, I do not doubt that many of the positions he espoused are popular. Some may even be necessary. But the glow and aftermath of his victory will fade faster than anyone can now imagine.

Obama was elected for one reason: because George Bush undermined America. Bush started an unnecessary war in Iraq, and he pursued domestic policies that lost sight of the needs of ordinary Americans. John McCain paid the price for having flown too close to Bush, a fatal error in any pilot. McCain should have anticipated and avoided that risk.

Barack Obama has given the Republican Party a loud wake-up call. The party has been trapped in the throes of cultural extremism. We must renew and revise our guiding principles and throw open our doors to what will be a steady stream of victims of “Obamaism.” Instead of a pro-life/pro-choice party, we must become an all-American and all-Americans party. We must be everything Obama is not: for a sound defense and a strong economy. Opportunity, not redistribution. And that’s it. Just as Jesus chased the money-changers from the temple, we must chase the right-wing profiteers from the Republican temple. One nation. One Party. No outcasts. All are welcome.

By default, I have also become the “legal opposition.” I will be in court in Honolulu on November 18th seeking a court order to open Barack Obama’s secret birth certificate. What is in the document that Mr. Obama does not want the American people to see? Until his family history is revealed, and until his birth certificate is made public, Obama will be an illegitimate president and a pretender in the White House.

When I warned people four years ago about Barack Obama, no one would listen. Is anyone listening now?

This was just posted on Countusout. Paulson threatened MARTIAL LAW to get the $700B:

Question: Who was behind the threat of martial law in an effort to strong arm Congress into the “bail out”? Answer: Henry Paulson
Thursday, November 20, 2008 Senator James Inhofe has revealed that Henry Paulson was behind the threats of martial law and a new great depression prior to the passage of the bailout bill, having made such warnings during a conference call on September 19th, around two weeks before the legislation was eventually approved by both the Senate and Congress.

As we reported at the time, on October 2, Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman gave a stunning speech on the House floor during which he decried the fact that, Many of us were told in private conversations that if we voted against this bill on Monday that the sky would fall, the market would drop two or three thousand points the first day, another couple of thousand the second day, and a few members were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted no.

A few days before, Rep. Michael Burgess also told the House, Mr. Speaker I understand we are under Martial Law as declared by the speaker last night, referring to a temporary suspension of the rules and procedures of Congress by its leaders so that a bill can be passed quickly.

But the origin of the most dire warnings about physical martial law in America, to which Sherman was likely referring, has now been exposed.

Speaking on Tulsa Oklahomas 1170 KFAQ, when asked who was behind threats of martial law and civil unrest if the bailout bill failed, Senator James Inhofe named Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson as the source.

Somebody in D.C. was feeding you guys quite a story prior to the bailout, a story that if we didnt do this we were going to see something on the scale of the depression, there were people talking about martial law being instituted, civil unrest.who was feeding you guys this stuff?, asked host Pat Campbell.

Thats Henry Paulson, responded Inhofe, We had a conference call early on, it was on a Friday I think a week and half before the vote on Oct. 1. So it would have been the middle what was it the 19th of September, we had a conference call. In this conference call and I guess theres no reason for me not to repeat what he said, but he said he painted this picture you just described. He said, This is serious. This is the most serious thing that we faced.

Inhofe said that Paulson told members of Congress the crisis would be far worse than the great depression if Congress didnt authorize the bill to buy out toxic debt, a proposal which he abandoned the day after he got the money, added Inhofe.

Inhofe is referring to the controversy last week when it emerged that the bailout money was not going to buy up toxic debt but instead Paulson, the former CEO of Goldman Sachs, had pulled a bait and switch and ordered the money be injected directly into banks.

Senator Inhofe has slammed the secrecy surrounding the destination of the bailout money, saying that Hank Paulson could have given it to his friends and that the blank check must be cancelled now.

Inhofe is now trying to rally support for a freeze on whats left of the initial $350 billion of bailout money with his roll back the bailout proposal, which will also require an affirmative vote on the part of Congress to approve Treasurys plan for the remaining $350 billion.

First, with regard to Andy Martin, while he may have filed the lawsuit and continues to go after Obama, I’m disgusted with him that he reported Phil Berg to be investigated for his bizarre behavior with regard to Berg’s lawsuit against Obama. Although I bought his book, I think Andy Martin is egotistical and self-serving.

Did anyone else get an e-mail today from Capricia begging for money for Hillary. I’m sorry if I’m offending anyone but I did write her back. Here’s her letter along with my response:

We are living in a very special time in American history, with an election that has redefined the boundaries of possibility and set our nation on a positive path with new leadership.

Things are changing in Washington and we have reason to hope that the next four years will look much different and better than the last eight.

As we look forward to a new era in Washington, there is still one piece of unfinished business where Hillary needs your help.

We need to do all we can to help Hillary by acting now to reduce her remaining debt.

So in case you missed it last time: here is a great way for you to help Hillary once more — and be a part of one of the most historic campaigns in our history. We’ve put together a video with some of the best moments from the campaign, including Hillary’s speech at the Democratic Convention in Denver.

Watch a quick preview of what you
and Hillary did this past year.
Sincerely, Capricia

Capricia, we have spoken on the phone before and, as you know, I am totally upset with Hillary going all out gangbusters for the Chosen One who is still the most unqualified candidate ever, worse than Bush, and that’s putting it mildly. You told me you had worked for Hillary for over 17 years and I appreciate your loyalty to her. However, Hillary was not loyal to her supporters when she abandoned them to campaign for someone she knew was unqualified and unfit for office. Obama ran the dirtiest campaign in modern history, worse than Bush and Nixon. He never spoke up against the sexism and mysogyny against her, in fact, encouraged it. Furthermore, I find it unbelievable that a man who raised over $600m dollars will not pay off her debt. And yet, Hillary continues to want to be abused by her abuser. Why she went overboard campaigning for Obama is beyond the pale, but why she would want to be subservient to him as SOS is “above my pay grade.” It is obvious Hillary has put her own self interest before her Country and for that I cannot ever forgive her. I do not intend to give her another dime and have already received my refund for past contributions. Hillary has left her 18m supporters disallusioned with her incomprehensible behavior and in politics. Without Hillary’s zealous campaigning, Obama would not be President Elect. Please read Dr. Long’s commentary regarding this: http://www.lynettelong.com/my_weblog/2008/11/hillary-did-it.html

In closing, I find it offensive that Hillary would still have the nerve to ask us to pay off her debt. We are miserable with the election and are the ones who will suffer under Obama. Hillary will go back to being Hillary.

If you want to be more subtle than what I suggested before, just walk around humming and smiling sweetly to yourself. They’ll catch on whether they want to or not. Of course, If someone asks you why you’re looking so pleased, then you can answer them without being the one to bring it up.

Wow, Murphy, I couldn’t believe this line from Krugman:

And for those on the progressive side of the political spectrum, these are hopeful times.

It’s expressions like this that make media lies about so-called progressives so palatable. The ruin of the country is cause for hope? The dis-ease and uncertainty, the emotional beating individuals take as the economy fails is cause for hope? WTF?

Regarding help on talking points, I teach a classful of O-bots, so I have some experience. You have to give a little before you hit ‘em. “I’m happy you’re happy you won, but you realize you just elected the black Reagan, right?”

Defend the Clintons, correct those lies first and foremost. Talk about the feminist awakening and the importance of it. Draw out the contrast between minority progress. Definitely talk about the 30% solution.

That’s what I do. I use the fact that no one I know IRL is as informed as I am to establish my authority upfront, and I make sure I say things that show the depth of my knowledge so they will take me seriously, or show their own irrationality in public. I do not yell. I do not lose my composure. I am occasionally snide, but only after establishing my cred as a reasonable, kind person.

Every now and again I accept and remind others that we really don’t know what will happen. A man with no record cannot be predicted accurately, and in the meantime we’re all in this together, we’re all still Americans. I think that’s important. especially with family.

My 2 cents.

Nobody is THAT bad off if they can still go to the store and BUY a Thanksgiving turkey instead of having to go shoot one.
What IS wrong with this country? Shouldn’t we, maybe, plug the damn hole before we bail the boat out AGAIN? Or are we that stupid.
And this morning I read that Bush promises that workers will not lose their unemployment benefits over the holidays.
I wish he had been MY president those times, years ago, when my 8 or 10 weeks unemployment ran out and after that it was just ‘tough shit’ when I was raising 23 kids!
And I sure as HELL wasn’t making $80 fucking dollars an hour to begin with. If I HAD been, I wouldn’t have NEEDED unemployment.
The utter greed, excesses, and lack of gratitude in this country makes me gag. It’s not the frickin chickens, it’s the KARMA coming home to roost!!!

Rancho
Here’s my suggestion. Provide an envelope for each, self addressed, with a message “Sharing the wealth for this day of Thanksgiving” and give it to them just about when they leave. It won’t disrupt the mood of their visit and allow for them to consider, fume, think about what the envelope was all about.

Wontbackdown – I just love your passion and you are so right. We also need to include those women who are also perpetrators such as Maureen Dowd, Katie Couric, Oprah, etc.

GoPumaGo #87 – What you and the others wrote is very true.

I once was physically abused, but only for a short while because I had love and respect for myself. That love and respect came because the men in my family loved and respected the women in our family. And a woman’s opinion was respected by those men.

Unfortunately, the men and women in my family had died, when I was being abused. But I didn’t back down, even though at the time I was between a rock and a hard place. The abuse only lasted a few months until I could plan my exit, I had children to consider. But the more he abused me, the stronger willed I became. In the end, he paid for it monetarily and otherwise. We had been married for many years without him ever abusing me, then he started cheating on me. Today he has many ailments and is in constant pain. There truly is a God.

At the time, I had no one to turn to but God. And He was always there for me. After I got my life back on track, I supported Homes for Abused Women and their children. I still try to support them spirtually when I can.

Naturally, anyone in this situation should go to the police or someone of authority if their being abused. At that time, I couldn’t. But I was lucky everything turned out fine.

No one should tolerate being abused, because you are worth being respected and loved. I have a daughter who unfortunately witnessed some of the abuse, but I brought her up to love and respect herself. She says respect is the first quality she looks for when she meets a man she’s attracted to. And she told me recently, she doesn’t have to have a man on her arm, to be happy with herself.

Sorry if I brought up a “downer” but there are mostly women on this blog and maybe this will help someone feel better about themselves if they have doubts.

And as far as our future agenda for Puma perhaps our fearless Murphy can give you some talking points

And then I would close the discussion by stating that this is a day for Thanksgiving and I am thankful you are all my intellectual and loving friends.
That should put an end to the discussion if that is your goal.

#33 indy 11.21.08 at 10:12 am
Rancho – When your O supporting guests invariably start talking and gloating about O, matter-of-factly ask them:
“On which of O’s accomplishments, did you base your vote for him?
I’ve asked O supporters on many blog sites that question and I’m still waiting for an answer.
Here’s another good one, I saved it from someone’s post here:
Name ONE national office candidate EVER who has sealed and refused and blocked access to ALL documentation of his/her life and career, from birth through residence through school through university through employment and medical through political career — prior to Barack Obama. Waiting…..
#15GoPumaGo 11.21.08 at 10:12 am
It just now hit me that we have a project to do now.
If SCOTUS declares Obama as not a Natural Born Citizen then we should be organized to petition the Electoral College members. Each and everyone of them to vote for Hillary. There will be almost no time between SCOTUS declaring Obama not eligible and the Dec 15 meeting of EC to actually vote.

NewOrleansPuma 11.21.08 at 12:02 pm Huh? I’m in Washington state at the moment. I’m just really pissed about all this “bail out” talk. For ALL of my life, we worked our way thru our mistakes and out of our holes. We believed ya can’t hit your bottom until ya put down the shovel.
When I read that someone wants or needs a bailout, I interpret it as they have taken too much $$ out of the cookie jar and if someone doesn’t put some back, THEY are going to get busted for being the goddamned crooks they ARE!!!

How about if the CEOs and CFO’s and legislators all put back their fat bonuses and THEN we MIGHT think about it.

Just before the election, an AA woman I was trying to help wanted me to go to the courthouse with her so she could register to vote.
As we were leaving, I asked her why she was voting for him.
She said because she thought he would make the best president.
So I asked her if she agreed witn BO on all the ‘issues’. She said, “Yup.”
I said, “Even that he wants to raise taxes on 95 % of the population, abolish Roe vs Wade, and bring back segregation”?
She said, “yup”
She actually believed him when he was talking about another stimulus check, just before the election.
Well, today her story is that someone stole all her money, so she couldn’t pay her rent, and now she’s living in her CAR!!! And her car is broke down in the parking lot behind the McDonald’s where she works.
I’m not beyond compassion and empathy. But she STILL believes BO is going to come thru. So I’m letting her.

-Put price tags on everything you serve – $ per serving

-Put fees on the bathroom doors – $ per use

-Bless the food with “Thank you lord for this food and my family’s decision to vote for spreading the wealth – THEN PASS AN OFFERING BASKET

- After dinner announce: “No Deserts, we’re getting a head start on making sacrifices… and by the way, all leftovers are going in our freezr to serve next year”

- Put a sign on the door just before they’re leaving, with an arrow pointing to the offering basket below that says: “Go ahead, drop in $100.00 more, you need the practice on Digging a Little Deeper”

The world economy is not happy about Obama’s election. I predict he and MO will go down as two of world history’s biggest mistakes.

Rancho,

How about pick up Thanksgiviing groceries, have everyone bring a few cans of veggies or something. When everyone gets there have them pack everything up, and head out to the local mission to serve meals. You are doing EXACTLY what O wants, spreading the wealth AND giving them an idea what the national service act will be like. BUT best of all you will be helping others. Don’t tell them what is up til they are there. Just ask them to wear comfortable shoes!

sue66:
I received this from Team Sarah this morning.

A message to all members of Team Sarah

Such hypocrites!

Two nights ago, David Letterman, in interviewing Katie Couric, described Gov. Palin as “the first vice presidential candidate that I found myself being aroused about.”

It is ghastly that this kind of discourteous, indecent talk should pass for conversational fodder — even on late night TV.

This violates CBS’s own “Program Practices” specifically states that: “The Program Practices editors review material for excessive or gratuitous violence, sexuality, nudity and inappropriate language. They ensure that character portrayals are sensitive to current ethnic, religious, sexual and other significant social concerns.” http://www.cbspressexpress.com/div.php/cbs_network/page/program_practices

A violation? What do *you* think?

Well, don’t just think it! Make your voice heard.

Email the Federal Communications Commission!

Email fccinfo@fcc.gov, tell them your name, where you are from, and EXACTLY how you feel about Letterman taking indecent liberties with a dignified lady, mom, and governor on his show!

DANCES:
I was on a cruise once and was walking with a new found friend and she expressed the desire to find out who were “the friends of Mr. Bill.” Well, I couldn’t enlighten her because I didn’t know myself at the time. I was interested though because my paternal ancestry is filled with Bills, including my brother.

thanks wbd — going to read it now.

oh, dwp — do we have “cupcake” in there as a nickname for oloser? who uses that term? Is it proudmilitary mom? thinking, thinking.

and “carpathia” via snowtiger?

murphy 11.21.08 at 2:11 pm

whiskey posted.

take it upstairs!

marybeth — I think what the article is saying is that Hillary is between a rock and a hard place.

If she accepts SOS, she WILL be the boss of a very important department — Numero Uno at State is NOTHING to sneeze at. On the other hand, she’ll still have to do what oloser says and she’ll take more than her fair share of the blame for his idiocies (because that’s just how it works for hillary). AND who knows how long she’ll last or if she’ll have another shot at elective office if she takes the SOS.

If she stays in the Senate she’s the captain of her own ship. What the NYT article shows is that her ship is kinda like a rowboat. The Senate does EVERYTHING based on seniority. So, even though Hillary is arguably the most powerful and effective vote-getter and leader that the party has, she is still pretty damn JUNIOR in the Senate — she’s only been a senator for about 8 years. The leadership of the Senate (the guys who chair the important committees) each have 25-50+ years under their belts. SO, in order to make her Senate ship bigger, the existing leadership would have to break the seniority ladder and let her climb up ahead of other Senators.

And they dont want to do that.

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Or give the dinner to some drunk on the street.

Around Cambridge Mass there are tons of people at the red lights asking for food as the cars stop for the light. actually looking for money for food.

or find a detox and bring them dinner. haha.

Or a prison. you can donate the dinner to prisoners.

Old peoples homes might use it. senior citizen places.

what else. homeless shelters would be good.

I heard today they are forming foreclosure support groups. Lot of people really hurting out there and it is cold tonight. God help everyone. I just want to love them all.

LOVE IS GIVING EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN.

TRUE LOVE IS DIFFICULT. THE EGO WANTS SOMETHING IN RETURN.
