About HRC taking SOS. No I don’t like it either. But I wonder if there is more than what meets the eye with the environment within the NYS government and her. I began wondering when NYS totally crossed over for the support for the ‘other one’ prior to the convention and threw her under the bus, so to speak as a NYS senator, Is her career any good in my state (NY) although she can work autonomously? I am quite sure she and a#$hole Schumer were generally always fighting on issues. I wonder if we will ever get any insight on this. Whatever is going on, I still don’t think it’s good she accepted. During the debates it was evident he was clueless in foreign affairs. When he named Biden VP, he even stressed Biden’s experience in foreign affairs. Obama knows his shortcomings although he doesn’t broadcast it. I think she’ll be more than his mouthpiece. He needs her.

I agree with you GOSUEF4HIL , the ex-President and ex-First Lady/Senator of New York, are not stupid leaders and they did not just enter the political arena, as a matter of fact, I am sure they invented some of the pages in the political playbook.
So, I believe they know and can see any future traps and have either finessed around them, or have made allowances for any possible future political manuvours.

Am trying to find a silver lining in this Hillary as SOS scenario. OK… the “messiah” stole the primaries from her and then succeeded in frauding the American public into voting for him. So what chance would she have in running in 2012?…zilch. By the time 2016 rolls around, the now 10 year olds will be able to vote….more than likely she will be considered “old”…and I hate to say that because I am just a year younger than Hillary. She may not want to pursue another
bid for the presidency as it’s a pretty arduous task to campaign nonstop for two years. It’s been mentioned already that she doesn’t have all that much clout in the Senate and she wouldn’t be able to apsire to a big committee position or Senate majority leader.

So where is the silver lining? I think she will do the SOS job with wisdom, grace and honor for our country. Lots of eyes will be focused on HER rather than Theonewhothinkshefooledus. I don’t know what his motives are for doing this but he ends up being the fool in my eyes. Lots of Obots will not like this. That is a plus. Hillary is a strong and powerful woman and political figure and I feel safer knowing that she is in that position. I think of it as a safeguard between nobo’s team and the world.

Well, Hillary as SOS is not a surprise. I agree with what zephyr 11.21.08 at 6:50 pm said about the situation. It’s a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that she will be 4th in line to the Presidency behind the VP, Speaker of the House, and the Ranking Senator (currently Byrd).

SOS is a job that comes with a huge responsibility. I think that she will do a great job. I still don’t like that she will be in That One’s Administation though.

BO will never be anymore of a President than Bush is. He is a clown and an empy suit. That is why they selected him. So if Hillary does take the job, it is going to be her doing all the work while he takes the credit (I wonder where I heard that story before?)

My boyfriend said he would lose respect for Hillary if she did that, “after everything Obama did,” and I don’t really know what to say because I am not IN politics. Hillary may feel that she would have a lot more power as SecState, and not as much in the Senate, and she would have an inside on the WH, and maybe she can help shape the administration better if she is in that position.

Plus, it’s kind of funny that the media and many obots, plus some republicans thought they got rid of the Clinton’s, and Hillary being SecState would shut all that down.

Thanks sly. I heard this morning on Morning Joe that Andrea Mitchell broke the story last night that Hillary will accept SOS. But that O would not confirm until after thanksgiving.

Why would Hillary accept before she knew for sure that Obama was going to confirm it. He is obviously not confirming it. Why wait until after Thanksgiving?

In my opinion, I think Hillary will shine as SOS, and Obama will disappear in her shadow. He has serious problems to deal with, and he will be blamed for all that goes wrong with the economy. Pelosi and Reid will not help him, when the going gets rough (and it will) they will wimp out, just as they wimped out with Bush after 2006. Biden will not help him, he will be off in never-never land. And who says that she can’t run for President again? Especially if she has truly made a name for herself as a great SOS, and Obama’s star has faded with the economic crisis and failed promises to the Obots. Lots of things can happen in 4 years. And if he fires her (she resigns), she can always run for governor, or run for the senate again.

I had an ah-ha moment after discussing the election with my 20 year old niece who voted for Obama btw.

We have been living on credit cards both symbolically and literally for a couple of decades. At some point the piper is gonna come calling. My niece’s generation is going to be called upon to “give up”….give up is a primary concept here…give up the idea their life is all about them. The piper needs to be paid if we are to continue as a semblence of the nation of our history.

We who came of age in the 80’s and 90’s didn’t really have to give up anything in pursuit of our destiny. They will.

So in order to create this order there must be a very effective bullypulpit to get the masses of young people to fall in line…much like the 1940’s. The Greatest Generation was very much propelled by propaganda which fed the willingness to sacrifice self for the “greater good”. Many young people gave up their dreams because the greater good required it.

Obama is a bullypulpit. An instrument of propaganda that is the most effective of the lot for that purpose. It’s about the power of the bullypulpit. Not about any of our highter and more complex concerns.

Fwiw, in 1992 didn’t Bill Clinton say the then-current generation would have to sacrifice like none other? Then we all said “No way” and he said “I feel your pain” and then he thought harder and asked smart Treasury people (like Summers, Rubin, etc) to come up with a better idea and they all did and turned the biggest deficit into the biggest surplus with no pain. (Except the fat cats impeaching him.)

The new president constrained? Of course he will be constrained. The first thing he’s gonna do (after getting his drapes up) is say ‘now, where is the money so we can do all of this stuff we promised before the elections’. And guess what, the money’s gone.

Big Dawg spent his whole first term paying down Bush’s debt, and this time the debt’s a lot higher. But he has to pay it down becasue the economy is on the brink of disaster, just like Texas after Dubya left that place.

If That One wants to accomplish anything, he’s gonna need money, and to get money he needs congress–they control the purse strings. That One will take off like a rocket once he’s in office but he won’t get far with no money.

(I had my last parent conference, concluding a week of conferencing, and went to buy “stuff” for our dinner for 20.) I am trying to get through ALL of the threads with replies to my question, including “How to deal with visiting OBOTS!” I’m still reading and it will probably take me all night! I’m overwhelmed with the time you all gave and creativity of your responses. You made my day! LOVE the quiz, Murphy. I can’t imagine I’m the only one dealing with the OBOT/Thanksgiving issue so I hope many received much from this! The Obots are family members . . my mother, my brother, my DAUGHTER, and her boyfriend. My mother will be the hardest . . she won’t shut up. She just called and said “Well, you should be HAPPY now that your Hillary is going to be SOS. Maybe you’ll leave Obama alone now! Sheeeeesh! Welp, going back to my “blog reading” for the evening!

Why is everyone so depressed? Does anyone here really think Hillary doesn’t know what she’s getting into? That she isn’t politically seasoned?

That’s why we were willing to vote for her and work for her. We believe she is that caliber.

Remember what Hillary said–if you hear the dogs, keep going. I can almost hear Murphy’s voice repeating that now in front of the television screen in Denver. Does any Puma here believe that Hillary does NOT hear the dogs, that she does not know the danger she is in? But what does she do? She is a risk taker, a party loyalist, and a patriot. She cannot help herself; she will keep going. I should have such interesting times when I am that age.

Who can see the future? If it’s time for a new chapter in Hillary’s life, so be it.

The reason Bill Clinton had such a favorable economic situation was because of the Internet. When the Internet went from being something available only to government and higher education, then the WWW turned the Internet into something that everyone could use, not just computer experts, it wildly exploded a new industry which included a huge demand for computers and a new basis for business.

That is why Bill Clinton was able to leave a positive economy. New businesses were bursting at the seam, along with those people who had money throwing money into any new internet business that looked like a money maker. People made fortunes in less than a year.

The internet boom led to the housing market boom.

Acorn jumped in and tried to get an advantage. They stuck their fingers into every pie to get money and good favor from those who were making money.

People and businesses thought that the internet boom would go on forever.

Acorn brought about the downfall of the housing market, financial markets, and the economy.

Good business practices disappeared in favor of everyone trying to get another dollar from an economy that didn’t have real money.

There is only one way Obama gets out of this and ends up like the Clinton presidency…another new boom business. Otherwise, it is socialism at best.

Bill cashed in the Peace Dividend by gutting the military. That sure worked out well.

To those of you who think this is the end of Hillary’s political career – fear not. It may be just the beginning.

She will then resign her position and pull an RFK. Meaning that she will challenge Obama for the presidency in 2012.

The Internet up and down period happened during the dates that your chart shows the upturn and downturn in the economy.

Do your own homework. I did mine already. Lived it, charted it, and watched it all go down. Research is for those who do not believe because they need proof. I’ve done my research and have all the proof I need.

Me telling you so will not convince you. The research is simple for those who did not notice it or live it at the time.

Go to one of the sites that has historic stock prices such as Yahoo. Set it for the dates during Clinton’s time in office. Then choose several internet companies and chart their stocks. You will also notice that if you chart “real goods” that they went up and down, but mostly down, as people poured money into the internet stocks. Many internet built companies came and went during the Clinton Administration. The “real goods” companies did less well during the same time period.

President Clinton was the beneficiary of a lot of people’s good ideas that came about because of the decision to change the Internet to the WWW and make it available to the public and the world at large.

In case you would like to look into the history of the Internet, it has been around since the 1960’s but was only available to University’s and the government. But you can go back and research the earliest papers written about the internet when it was known that it could be used for everything that it is today. Somehow that took 30 years to actually happen.

The reason Google and Microsoft have donated more money to Obama than anyone else is because they want to keep their world vision and they think Obama will do that for them. They do not fight to be on top for fun. They have their reasons. Microsoft wants to control every computer and Google wants to control all information resources.

There is a very thin string that keeps this from happening and an Obama presidency might break that string. ACORN ruined the housing market. Yet excuses are made for them and Obama’s role in that. Excuses are made for the governments role in that. Excuses are made for the lending institutions role in that. But it was Acorn who broke the walls down.

Voting rights? Acorn broke that also. Rights turned into abuse. Abuse became the accepted norm. Who did Obama tie into right from the start? Acorn. What did they use? The Internet and banks. Who did they influence? Congress, banks and poor people. Who got money to fund Acorn? Obama, Ayers, Congress. Who benefited from Acorn? Obama, Ayers, Wright, Congress.

Major companies force, or encourage strongly, their employees to back a candidate with their own earnings from the company for one reason…the company want to guarantee that their workers have a commitment to the same cause that the company has and that the individual workers have a financial reason to stay committed…FOR THEIR JOBS.

It is not by chance that Obama wants people to not be able to join a union unless they are going to have their vote watched. Who do you think that helps?

I’m in a Union. My dues were bought and paid for by the lover of Jon Corzine who also represented our Union. To say the least, we have paid for this lovers union. Corzine also gave all of the NJ delegates that should have gone to Hillary Clinton, to Obama. Hillary won NJ and our governor could have cared less when he was at the DNC. So why do I expect Corzine or Obama to represent any vote of the people or any vote of a union. They are both liars.

You want to look at the entire history, it is all out there for anyone who cares to look it up.

Internet up and down happened during the Clinton Presidency. The abuse of the Internet for politics began after Bill left office. The abject lose of civil discourse on the internet happened once Obama began using it for his Presidential run for office. He had a lot of help on that and he is in the tank for those who are in the tank for him. If I were him, I’d cut and run. But since he has no conscious, he will not.

If he is lucky, he will wake up and realize what he has done and try to be a real president. I am not hopeful but for the sake of our country, I hope anyway.

We can argue all we want but it would be time better spent if we would lay down the actual history of events in our own lifetime.
