Questions to ponder whilst sipping the java:
1. Hillary as Sec of State — Fact or Head Fake?
2. Dow below 8,000 today?
3. GM — sink or swim? What should congress do?

Good Morning, PUMAs..
henri, I enjoyed your post about your frustrations. Your dad sounds cool. I feel the same way. The sexist thoughts that prevail astound me. I really thought that we would have a woman in the White House by now. I have let my voice be heard and will continue to do so.
Thanks Murphy and all for keeping me informed. I will tell my family things that you have ‘talked’ about, and then it will be on the news. They are like, “How did you know that”?. Then someone will say, she was on the PUMA site, that’s how she knows. haha
Have a great Tuesday!

Not a good idea
2. Dow below 8,000 today?
2 weeks 1 day still haven’t watched the news
3. GM — sink or swim? What should congress do?
Congress should let them get themselves out like the housing market, and all employees of every walk of life who lost their jobs
I’ve got a mean streak this morning….grrrrrr

My re-Post from downstairs, I need help PUMAs:
I need PUMAs to go to the following blog and add comments. There’s a blog by the Editor titled “If only she had married better.” The Editor is a/was a big Obama fan.
This FEMALE questions Bill’s Foundation, questions Hillary staying married to Bill, and says “Can you imagine if Bill had hooked up with Sarah Palin? Thank God (little “g”) those two didn’t breed.”
Here’s the link: http://blogs.fayobserver.com/editorial
Go to it PUMAs!

1. Fact – IF Billy’s financial records are “clean”, but I think he has overseas donations that are being scrutinized by the Master.
2. Dow – it went up when it looked like McCain/Palin had a chance. When That One was “selected” the DOW went back down and stayed there – investors pulling out (or going bankrupt)
3. GM got themselves in the fix – private corporation (union company/supported That One) – wants payback!! Using Fear Tactics to scare employees and country to get their $$.

GOODBYE JOE LIEBERMAN?
By Neal Boortz @ November 18, 2008 8:24 AM
Could today be the last day for Joe Lieberman as chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee? The Democrats will be voting today on whether or not to strip him of his chairmanship. A good start to that whole bipartisan thing. But who knows? Insult this man enough and maybe he gets in on some of the filibuster action.

Hillary as Sec. of State: Fact
Hope she doesn’t take it.
Dow below 8000 today? Futures are up 13 right now. Who knows!
GM- sink or swim. I hope they don’t sink, but I say no more bail outs. Chapter 11 is the way to go. I say this having come from Detroit and still have alots of family working for the big 3. If we bail them out, we as tax payers are going to be paying for the medical and I have issues with that as my son pays $650 a month to pay for his as do millions of other tax payers. I just don’t think this is fair.

RE: My post #4 -
I just went to the Fayetteville Observer to see if any PUMAs posted comments to the thread in which I commented . Now the editor (female) has another thread, blogging on an article from policico.com.
This editor think they should annex Austin, TX, and forget about Texas. Here’s an excerpt:
“I have said it on talk shows and in blogs before but I really think we ought to cede Texas to somebody else. Any takers? At the very least we ought to at the very least consider a constitutional admendment that bars anyone from Texas from holding national office again. Consider the evidence — every time a Texan is president we end up in an ill-conceived war.
It’s the mentality of Texans.”
(This is how she ends the article)
“They only know two ways to deal with it — get into a fight or get drunk. Usually it’s both.”
Please PUMAs, go there and comment.

sorry i’m late but better late than never- i’m just not getting to the Barg article and other– here is my prowl- i didn’t know what address to bcc to puma
I was frankly appalled (for lack of a sufficient descriptive word at your piece of hate speech) appearing in your paper under the guise of all things “humor” and “grammar.” This kind of hate speech should not be tolerated: A retraction and apology should be printed for both Sarah Palin and to all women. Hopefully Jeffrey Barg will receive disciplinary action as well. I am sure if someone wrote a similar article about male politicians and castration, the reaction wouldn’t be giggles at the water cooler. I honestly don’t know what happened to journalism this year. Is the paper so desperate to sell papers that the editors sign off on anything and everything? Sadly “The National Enquirer” has more integrity at this point after the drivel most papers have printed this year. I am a proud member of Pumapac so consider yourself prowled.
Read your words again and realize what a piece of violent hate speech it is; there is nothing “humorous” about it. I find it humorous how losers ( yes I can spell) are spinning their wheels about how Sarah Palin became not only a governor of a major oil producing state but the candidate for VPOTUS. So using that amazing brain Jeff Barg had, he along w/ millions of non-thinking Americans automatically assume she’s stupid. And then to put it under the guise of a “grammar” piece w/ your clever wording just shows how cowardly the editors truly are. Was it necessary to use a painful and grave surgery to describe the meaning of anxiety or how to use an “H” w/ the article “an”? Barg is not only an angry grammarian, he is angry at women. Just come out and say you hate women Barg, and then see how it is received? Just come out and say we’re all dumb B’s like you’re really thinking. Btw I am sure President Elect Obama doesn’t need nor appreciates this help in these matters, and you’re doing him no good in the trying. And since I know you don’t approve of slang terms Barg, you won’t be confused by this “H word. “Hellacious” which is what your piece was– complete distasteful trash that should never have made it to print.
BrianH 11.18.08 at 9:08 am
Lieberman prob’ly won’t kiss O-butt and promise to help break filibusters.
GM – a ditty keeps going thru my head (there’s a tune, but it’s obvious, you can get it pretty much from the cadence):
“What’s good for General Bullmoose …
Is good for the U.S.A.!”
Oh, here it is —
“General Bullmoose [3rd down on the left]: Al Capp created General Bullmoose in June 1953 as the epitome of a ruthless capitalist. Bullmoose’s motto “What’s good for General Bullmoose is good for the USA!” was adapted by Capp from a statement made by Charles E. Wilson, the former head of General Motors and Secretary of Defense under President Dwight Eisenhower. In 1952 Wilson told a Senate subcommittee, “What is good for the country is good for General Motors, and what’s good for General Motors is good for the country.” Li’l Abner became embroiled in many implausible but hilarious adventures with the cold-hearted Bullmoose over the years.”
Heh.

So this is how you pay back someone who has different ideas and thoughts than the party, you strip them of their position. Is this the type of change that has been promised, it certainly is not unity.
Hillary–SOS–she will probably accept the position, IMO, it would give her the foreign affairs experience that would assist her if she runs in 2016. It is a clever move and risky at the same time; however, the DEMS really believe they will be in office for the next eight years and she would probably be the leading candidate at that time. Hopefully, they will consider that all is dependent upon the next four years and that the REPUBS will be better prepared in 2012 with younger, fresher, and stronger candidates;and of course Huckie and Romney might make a play again. 2012 won’t be the same kind of election, the REPUBS strengthen their ground work and try to appeal to different demograhics and maybe ACORN will be disassembled so the fraud will not be as bad. Obama might have a run for his money and of course he owes Hillary, Richardson, Kerry all of the people that placed him in the WH. Someone/s will be upset at the end of the day and might sing like a bird!
DOW—I sigh everyday with a heavy heart!
GM—let them declare bankruptcy and restructure,I only hope the workers will not suffer during the transistion but these corporations need to learn from their mistakes and the CEO/CFOs with the big paychecks need to be reeled in.

In looking up some famous Texans, to post a comment on the Editors blog, I found an interesting woman. I never heard of her, and thought it was a cartoon charactor because of her name. Well, she’s a real woman, who’s real name is Ima Hogg. The daughter of former Governor Hogg of Texas. She had many accomplishments and may be somebody to research. What do you think:

“Syracuse Police say they believe DeLee’s motive was a dislike for Cannon’s sexual orientation. Now, the Onondaga County District Attorney’s office is considering whether it will also charge DeLee with a hate crime. If convicted on both charges, DeLee would receive a longer prison sentence. However, Assistant District Attorney Mark Trunfio says it may be difficult to prove hate played a role in the shooting.”

Texas! Kinky Friedman, ex-gubernatorial candidate for the state:
Kinky Friedman
Jews Like Jesus
Well, a redneck nerd
In a bowling shirt
Was a-guzzlin’ Lone Star Beer;
Talking religion and-uh
Politics
For all the world to hear.
“They oughta send
You back to Russia, boy,
Or New York City One
You just want to doodle
A Christian girl
And you killed God’s only son!”
I said, “Has it occurred
To you, you nerd,
That that’s not very nice?
We Jews believe
It was Santa Claus
That killed Jesus Christ!”
“You know, you don’t
Look Jewish,” he said,
“Near as I could figger
I had you lamped
For a slightly anemic,
Well-dressed country nigger!”
No, they ain’t makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore,
They don’t turn
The other cheek,
The way they done before.
He started in
To shoutin’ and
A-spittin’ on the floor,
“Lord, they ain’t makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore!”
He says, “I ain’t a racist
But Aristitle Onassis
Is one Greek we don’t need
And them niggers,
Jews and Sigma Nus,
All they ever do is breed.
And wops ‘n micks
‘N slopes ‘n spics
‘N spooks are on my list
And there’s one little hebe
From the heart of Texas —
Is there anyone I missed?”
Well, I hits him
With everything I had
Right square
Between the eyes.
I says, “I’m gonna gitcha,
You son of a bitch ya,
For spoutin’ that pack of lies.
If there’s one thing
I can’t abide,
It’s an ethnocentric racist;
Now you take back
That thing you said
‘Bout Aristitle Onassis!”
No, they ain’t makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore,
We don’t turn
The other cheek
The way we done before.
You could hear
That honky holler
As he hit that hardwood floor
“Lord, they sho’
Ain’t makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore!”
All right!
No, they ain’t
Makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore,
We don’t turn
The other cheek
The way they done before.
You could hear
That honky holler
As he hit
That hardwood floor,
“Lord, they ain’t
Makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore!”
Everybody!
They ain’t makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore,
They ain’t makin’
Carpenters
Who know what nails are for.
Well, the whole damn place
Was singin’
As I strolled
Right out the door:
“Lord, they ain’t makin’
Jews like Jesus anymore!”
No, we ain’t makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore,
We don’t turn the other cheek
The way they done before.
Well, the whole damn place
Was singin’
As I strolled
Right out the door
“Lord, they ain’t
Makin’ Jews
Like Jesus anymore!”

Went to the radio station blog… sorry you had such a tough time there MURPHY and JENNIFER:
So many uninformed people here… some people refuse to be educated.. perhaps they were one’s who went to University of Illinois at Chicago and were benefited by the Great Educator Ayers…
Poor children. One’s who are misinformed and using “typical” foul language and inuendo to make their point. I see no logical progression of ideas from the Obama supporters, just foul thoughts and language, and hatred toward women.
Must be mistreated men who feel they cannot make a point without thinking about their “appendage”. It’s a shame, because most women respect men and listen to well thought out conversations. I am so sad that Obama has brought our wonderful country of the United States of America to this point.
Yes, I blame him. I blame him because of his tactics and his continuing to lead his followers with such tactics…. like giving Hillary the finger during one of his stump speeches and brushing the dandruff off his shoulder (once again Hillary). He showed by his many “honey” comments what respect he has for women in general and has by his actions showed what his followers should think of women.
Just because Murphy and Jennifer happen to be women there are attacks such as these. Should they have had appendages there would have not been this “outrage” by so many “so-called men” on this blog.
Shame on you and shame on the woman who bore you … raised you with such hatred… and continue to support you by perhaps cooking your dinner each night. I feel sorry for any women in your life when you have so little respect for women. And may your daughters not suffer the same fate as so many before her.
PUMA’s continue your speaking of truth. Continue to educate those who will listen. One can do not more in one’s life than that.
Thank you for letting me write this on your blog and I hope more facts will be brought out so the history books will reflect the truth of this election year.

Why should she settle for SOS…if this lawsuit gets in front of Justice Thomas, she might just be the President come January. Just another crazy birth certificate suit you ask? Nope…it assumes BO was born to an American mother and a Kenyan father. And it doesn’t let John McCain off the hook either. Turns out, they’re both very likely ineligible. The birth certficate broohaha is a smoke screen. This is what they were really worried about. And if they’re both determined to be ineligible…the Democrats keep the electoral college votes. Where would those votes go? Hillary, of course.
Define natural born citizen…chances are, you are wrong. 5 minutes of research will show you that it has never, ever, ever, ever been defined. The question has been out there waiting for YEARS to be asked and answered. Even Congress doesn’t know the definition. If they did,why did they fill the need to pass a NON-BINDING resolution declaring John McCain a natural born citizen? Notice they didn’t try to make it a law…they would need the Supreme Court to define natural born citizen first.
Take some time…listen carefully. Read every word. I read cautiously and I won’t stand down until it’s heard.

Stop Pelosi, Obama in Georgia
30 Second Ad
Why are Obama, Reid, and Pelosi telling you how to vote?
Because liberal Jim Martin is the final vote they need for total control to force crushing new tax hikes, to give illegals social security and citizenship, to impose their radical abortion agenda, to take away your Second Amendment rights.
So when Washington outsiders try to tell you how to vote, tell them Jim Martin is too radical, too risky.

Back after a lot of lurking!!
Please transmit my message to the writer of the article on ceceding (seceding is right) Texas!!
I think the writer is Kathy Spear Zacharias -
Hey, Kathy Spears, until you hear the ‘Talaq, Talaq, Talaq’ from your Zacharias enjoy your karmic bliss and inebriated mind. Meanwhile stop your crap about Texas.
Sterotyping Texans this way will only lead you to insanity and perhaps you will soon realize this one day, lost in Mt. Olympia woods close to where you live. On that day, either the Talaq day or the alone in the woods, remember that a cat call to this Texan would have saved you for Texans don’t discriminate when saving others like your filthy mind does writing.

Good morning PUMA’S: Hillary Clinton sent me this response:
Apologize: if you’ve seen it, thought I’d share it:
Personally: She isn’t going anywhere, by this letter:
_____________________________________________________________
Thank you for your views on the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. I appreciate your concern and I welcome the opportunity to respond.
The market turmoil over the past month has exacted a heavy toll on Wall Street and unfortunately, now the crisis has spread to Main Street. What began as a wave of mortgage defaults and foreclosures limited to risky subprime mortgages quickly unraveled into a national housing crisis, driven deeper by complex securities designed to hide unacceptable risks and irresponsible investments. We soon learned that the losses from those mortgages created a ripple effect engulfing not only the irresponsible mortgage lenders and the banks that wrote their loans, but also our largest financial institutions and nearly every segment of our financial sector.
The normal credit markets ceased to function with banks unwilling to lend to each other and soon ordinary businesses and consumers were unable to secure the lines of credit they need and rely upon to survive. The lack of standard market functioning and the cascading collapse of financial institutions have had a devastating impact on all Americans. Our economy lost 159,000 jobs this past month alone, and we are on the cusp of a recession that threatens the entire nation with manufacturing, auto sales, retail sales, and economic growth all on the decline. America is currently undergoing a severe threat to our nation’s economic security. Businesses are finding it hard to receive credit, limiting transactions and preventing salary disbursal. Pension plans and other retirement accounts have lost a great deal of value due to falling investor confidence and market manipulation. Several of our nation’s largest banking institutions have failed or were forced to reorganize to survive. Hardworking Americans are unable to keep up with their mortgage payments and face the threat of losing their homes.
Swift action was needed, but it was clear the Treasury Department’s original plan was a blank check to the banks that enabled this crisis. I worked with my colleagues and I am pleased that Congress mandated additional oversight controls and installed accountability measures so that the Treasury Department’s rescue program is run effectively and responsibly. The bipartisan legislation allows for a variety of options to address the crisis, including expanding the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC) guarantee on bank deposits, an option for capital injections to healthy but vulnerable banks that serve our communities, and many important tax breaks for struggling homeowners. The legislation also includes tax provisions I supported which enhance energy research and development, to end our dependence on foreign oil, and adjustments to help middle class families with home heating bills and protect them from the alternative minimum tax (AMT). As a result, the Federal Reserve has begun paying interest on commercial bank reserves and will extend billions of dollars in its loan program to impacted banks.
As Senator from New York, I have seen thousands of my constituents lose their jobs. I believe that enacting these measures was a difficult but necessary decision to prevent tens of thousands more from losing their livelihoods, but it is also clear that we must do more to help the middle class, create more jobs, and regain economic stability. I have proposed several initiatives to bolster the economy and help families navigate these difficult times. I believe establishing a Home Owners Mortgage Enterprise (HOME), allowing home owners and mortgage companies to renegotiate the terms of home mortgages, will help families keep their homes through affordable payments. A similar program helped prevent widespread home loss during the Great Depression, and we must take action now to keep families in their homes and prevent the housing crisis from deepening this economic downturn.
We must also develop a broad strategy to stem job losses and support small business owners as the market adjusts in the coming months. I recently called on the Department of Labor to approve a grant allowing New York State to study the impact of the ongoing economic crisis on working families. These steps will be an important beginning to our nation’s difficult recovery process, and I pledge to continue representing the workers and families of New York and America. Moreover, I have called on the President and the Treasury Secretary to create a $250 billion “Emergency Stabilization Fund” to make emergency loans and establish temporary lines of credit for small businesses, to allow schools and universities to have short term access to funding to reduce the pressure on tuition, to increase direct loans to students as private lending has dried up, and to help stabilize our state and local governments, enabling them to provide essential services while reducing the pressure to increase property taxes. Finally we must pursue long term market reforms to curb the excessive risk, rampant speculation and irresponsible lending and borrowing that began this crisis.
Again, thank you for your letter regarding our economic challenges ahead. I hope you will share your thoughts and concerns with me as we continue to address this important issue before the United States Senate. For regular updates, please check my website at http://clinton.senate.gov.
Sincerely,
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton

gumbykat Yippers – you’re right!! But I believe the Don’t Mess with Texas was a project of hers??? Citizens put in their slogans or something – Best Texas Slogan? LBJ Library/Museum…………… I do know she was active in it though. I actually had a chance to meet her one day in Austin – At the library, but couldn’t get there……… Forgot about the Wildflowers! It was a very long time ago!!
==============================
I just looked up the “Don’t mess with Texas” slogan. It was started by a big advertising firm here in Austin called GSD&M. When I saw that name, I remember the guy who owns it used to have a lot of fundraisers for Bill & Hillary here in Austin at his house.

One thing I’ve heard (history class?) was that Lady Bird is the reason no county in Texas can mow the ditches until June 24 is so the wild flowers will have a chance to grow. I believe this because up here, the weeds are blocking the view until June 24 every year.
======================
The wildflowers this year in Central Texas were not very pretty this year, because it has not rained. I think they do die out in June, because of the heat.

gumbykat the big toll road from Mexico and up (believe it is supposed to go to Canada, but who knows! It will be cutting my little town in half as it swings over to the NW and up! Very sad! No access for our town and the ambulance/fire station/police are concerned about being able to service my side of it!! And we finally have our own City Hall!!

=====================================
Yes, I am. I don’t have anything to brag about Austin. The cost of living is higher here in Austin, than any other city in Texas. My property taxes are thru the roof.

That is why I mentioned karmic bliss. Perhaps during that transient stage while in love with ZachariasS one forgets the right word and spelling.
You see it does have some impact on me as it brought me out of lurk mode after more than a week or so.
And hi to all fellow texans and all PUMA’s for ever!
gypsy rebel 11.18.08 at 11:03 am
Well, I gotta go to work! Just lolling about – no energy!

Sue, BMW…and to all those your complements are so kind and cheer me up and YES ignorance is rampant in Texas and elsewhere..
I have appealed to Ernesto for another show. And I already have 10 people to SPONSOR me if he charges…
I must go to work, but this is my feeling on most of it…..bad things are afoot, just don’t know how it will all turn out. WORST thing for me is for Hillary to join Nobamaland.

I am brewing up some grounds for an FEC complaint on BO’s campaign. For PUMA interested in inciting an Audit of the BO Campaign, you may want to review the complaint procedure:
http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/complaint_brochure.pdf
More Background: The final FEC reports are due Dec. 4, 2008 so we will not be able to wait for that. The Pre-General Reports, covering the half month through Oct 15 are already in. So I will be reviewing the transaction through Oct 15. The main issue is that transfers from the Obama Victory Fund to the Obama Campaign Fund put some donors over their limits.
The objective is to document and report to the FEC a sufficient amount of discrepancies to justify a full audit.
I may ask for some help in reviewing the donations but it is a voluminous task so I need to get us organized. I started working on Florida and thought it would be good to look at California and New York State, also.

Yea, I think it is supposed to go from Canada to Mexico. It has helped Austin as far as the trucks staying off I-35. Inside Austin I-35 is so narrow, the semi-trucks were a hugh problem. A guy on the news who drives a truck said he rather pay the 20.00 toll, because he would use that much in gas sitting in traffic in Austin. But they did cut thru a lot of family farms to build it which is sad.

Headclunker!!!! As you are checking the campaign donations, if you see any of the Big Three that are asking for $$ (bridge loan), I think it would be useful!!!!!

So, why post something that you know will p-off Pumas?//

Well, you know those funny videos of Obots not knowing anything about the people and positions of those they are voting for or against? We Centrists are equally appalled at the (mostly MSM-enforced) lack of knowledge of the elecorate, especially Democrats, of what has been going on in Iraq, and how spectacularly the military has been performing in both “kinetic” (fighting) and non-kinetic arenas, AND that they have an honest-to-God VICTORY there. The SOFA agreement is now cabinet-approved and will be passed by the Iraqi legislature shortly (a near certainty).
Did you know any of that?
