We have a strong, capable work force. American workers are probably the most productive in the world. What we need is a strong government to protect us. They need to just come out and demand that these huge multi-national companies bring our manufacturing jobs back. If they don’t then maybe we should think twice about allowing them to sell their junk in our country. We could also invest heavily in new companies big and small that make products here and build jobs here. We could also stop outsourcing our military manufacturing as well. Just with a few tweaks we could usher in a new era of prosperity. In the last 30 years they’ve closed all the steel mills, all the textile mills, all the electronics factories, etc. Bring ‘em back. Use incentives, use threats, use whatever means necessary. Everything else will take care of itself.

Not my idea, but I like it.

I thought right after the election we (PUMA) were going to go after the media. I have not heard alot more on this or exactly how we were going to accomplish this. I have written e-mails to alot of them letting them know how disgusted I am with the way they “pushed” Obama and NEVER told the whole story etc… Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow were two that I e-mailed.

I think some of the leaders need to go back downstairs and read Mick’s last post there. I’m not suprised, by the way… I feel the same way…

I never passed this on to pumas, but I was sitting with my boyfriend a few months ago, watching E! “The Soup,”….ok, which is a mind-numbing stupid show, with sometimes humorous commentary from host–when he makes fun of the superficiality of the shows he reviews.

However, it is a highly sexist show. Host calls the women bitches, sluts, stupid, etc.

Keith Olbermann was ON that show. They did a lil funny skit, and KO mocked pumas and Hillary supporters who argued that BO did not really win.

KO did a mock crying jag, “He cheeeeated!” he cried…making fun of us. “Hillary should have won! wahhhhh”

It really pissed me off.

I never mentioned I saw that. OOH boy, my blood boiled.

The guy is an immature asshole. There were stories online, one from his ex lover, how he fucked like a 15 year old. And another story about how he had a college aged girlfriend, and yet another on how he attempted to lay an actual porn star at a party, but she turned him down.

As SOS, or any other job BO might offer, she wouldn’t get any vote at all. These cabinet and ambassador people ’serve at the pleasure of the President.’ Their job is to carry out HIS policies. They may advise, but have no power (other than resigning in protest). If they speak out in disagreement, they get fired.

Even 1% of the Senate is worth much more than a cabinet position, is much more free and secure. But Hillary in fact has much more than 1% of the Senate power.

For a start right now we can promote dailypuma.com! Make sure our blogs are showing up there, put her link on our blogs and in our sigs, etc.

We can’t reform the media by protesting, but by out-competing them! Support our own grassroots news networks, starting with dailypuma. Every minute someone reads a blog, is one less minute they’re watching Big Media.

one of the hopes is that these protest and boycotts do a few things to help,
1) is to put pressure on the lds church to not flood money into again fighting it

2) protest keeping to topic going people are finding out that “OMG, I actually know people that are gay”

I saw that photo of Hillary on Dredge and the photo of Hillary is out of proportion. The entire photo should be elongated to the right proportion, making Hillary not only look thick but much shorter. Not a sexist statement at all, just a mis-sized photo.

What I think is so very sad is that Churches are fighting this, because the bible says (assuming that being gay is a sin) … “we are all sinners”! I sometimes go to bible study with a group a gay folks (like myself) and we are always talking about how churches all of our lives have made us feel like we were “doomed to hell” because we are gay! It is SAD, because gay folks feel like there is no place for them in church. This sad, because alot of gay people grew up going to church, but “caught on” really quick-like that they are not wanted and left! The Divorce rate is approx. 50% in this country … and they are protesting gay marriage????

We do need to take on the media. The way I think it should be done is to work for Cable Choice so that people could pick the channels they want to subscribe to. Can you imagine the response if we could all just call up and cancel our subscription to CNN and MSNBC? If we actually had consumer rights? Sexism in the media wouldn’t need to be discussed because it would not be economically beneficial. Martin, the Republican FCC chairman is all for Cable Choice and I think we should push him into making it happen before BO takes office. With the way the media sucked up to him BO will never work for Cable Choice.

I would not go as far as to say in North Louisiana it is “ok to be who you are” by any means……

1) I pray each night that Barack Obama gets up healthy and stays that way—since the idea of Joe Biden as President is as frightening as Sarah Palin is not. Even Al Gore’s similar combination of ego and surrealism is no match for Biden’s self-important outbursts. I don’t think Putin and Chavez will say, “Aw shucks, that’s just old Joe being Joe Biden.”
2) Why didn’t McCain just once say: “Mr. Obama: Bill Ayers bragged about bombing our country right before 9/11. You were 40, then, not eight. So why did you keep emailing this unrepentant terrorist for the next four years?”
3) What was the sanctimonious refusal to evoke Rev. Wright all about? Why didn’t McCain just say: “Mr. Obama: you claimed in 2004 you never missed a service at Trinity. PUMA’S, please read the headline article at TheStar.com. I realize this assault of two ladies happened in Canada, but is it the start of a new wave of hate crimes. These ladies are married and were picking up their children at school and were assaulted by another parent. This guy is charged with assault causing bodily harm, they want him charged with a hate crime as well. I most certainly have written to support this. It happened about 30 miles away from where I live. It just makes me so mad I could hiss and spit, so I’m letting my keyboard do it for me, but in a polite enough fashion not to get pitched.

I live in Chula Vista, CA. a good samaritian vet would be good. I would prepfer board certified as i would not want to lose him on the table. FOX News asked Senator Chuck Schumer if liberals in Congress will try to implement the so-called Fairness Doctrine – a measure specifically designed to shut down Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and conservative talk radio.

Schumer replied indignantly:

“Do you think we should allow people to put pornography on the air? Absolutely not. Particularly on television or radio.”

Huh? No, it’s NOT a joke! And he didn’t stop there.

Schumer nastily admonished decent Americans for some imagined hypocrisy:

“The very same people who don’t want the Fairness Doctrine want the FCC [Federal Communications Commission] to limit pornography on the air…. That’s not consistent.”

It’s almost beyond belief.

We couldn’t have made it up!

Is Schumer so unhinged that he’s not even capable of understanding the fundamental difference between smut and political expression?

Craig Parshall, general counsel for the National Religious Broadcasters said:

“I was stunned by Senator Schumer’s suggestion that by keeping filth off the air, the federal government has somehow become empowered to take over the control of legitimate programming content of broadcasters.”

But Parshall missed one very important point.

With control of the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives, Schumer and his liberal colleagues are twisting the First Amendment’s guarantees of Freedom of Speech and of the Press – ALL TO SET THE STAGE TO SILENCE RUSH, HANNITY AND OTHERS.

If you’re a liberal, you can burn the flag, put four-letter-word bumper stickers on your car, commit lewd acts on-stage, play profane rap music loudly on your car radio, produce, rent and distribute the most disgusting filth in broad daylight and on the Internet in plain view of minors and even use taxpayer dollars to depict Jesus suspended in bodily waste.

But when it comes to shutting down conservative thoughts and opinions, now that they have grabbed the reins of power, liberals are making control over the content of speech a top priority!

They’re plotting and maneuvering behind the scenes to make it happen RIGHT NOW!

Peter Kirsanow writing in National Review Online tells us why this fight is URGENT:

“Imposition of some form of the Fairness Doctrine likely will be one of the Democrats’ agenda items for the first 100 days of the new administration. It’s important that conservatives begin working now to stop it.”

Kirsanow went on:

“Waiting until Inauguration Day to get geared up is too late. By that time the Fairness Doctrine Express will be at full steam— wavering Democrats will be pressed to support the new Democratic president, weak-kneed Republicans will want to display comity, the mainstream media will not be saddened to see talk radio annihilated and much of the public will be too enraptured by Obama’s Camelot inauguration to notice or care.”

Kirsanow is right.

There is not a moment to lose. If we take a stand now, we can defeat this threat to our civil liberties.

When Castro took power in Cuba, he imprisoned journalists en masse and continued to do so throughout his regime, holding those who opposed him indefinitely without charges.

When Josef Stalin returned from exile in March of 1917 he immediately assumed control of an underground publication founded by Leon Trotsky called Pravda (which, ironically, translates as “Truth”) and made it an official arm of the Soviet Communist Party. Pravda became and remained the chief propaganda arm of the Soviet Communist Party until it was shut down in 1991 by Boris Yeltsin. Subscription to Pravda was MANDATORY.

Immediately after assuming power in 1933, Adolf Hitler placed Joseph Goebbels in charge of the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. All journalists, writers, and artists were required to register with the ministry.

But this is the United States where, unfortunately, such strong-arm tactics are not necessary because liberals already control the media, EXCEPT for conservative talk radio.

Kirsanow again:

“Talk radio is the most important medium conservatives have. It’s the only medium conservatives dominate. But liberals aren’t content to have only NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, AP, Reuters, Newsweek, Time, the NY Times, Washington Post, Hollywood, etc. Stray conservative thoughts might escape into the population, you know.”

CNSNews quoting Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland:

“The government ‘has the responsibility’ to make sure there are a ‘variety of opportunities for people to get information,’ said Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) when asked about the Fairness Doctrine at the Democratic Senatorial Committee election night party on Tuesday.”

Liberal pundits inside the Beltway and members of the elite media are already attempting to sell conservative Senators on the notion that their only chance for political survival is to display comity. Unless they hear from you now, they WILL believe it, as they have in the past.

We can win this fight. It only takes 40 Senators to stand firm. But if patriotic Americans do not speak up, we will lose this fight for our liberties.

I think the trouble is we all too smart, high IQs etc. and we are more aware and informed than most, frankly, i get real frustrated and want towring their stupid necks…I hear FOX bringing up stuff now, well he cant pass his own security clearance for god’s sake, it’s like reverse psychology, they like to screw with your head all the time..they are so sick and so obvious. if they were so concerned, why didn’t the mainstream news media mention all this crap about obama then. after the fact, is a joke…pisses me off!!

The Fairness issue is important, but … 20 pages? Major outpourings like that COULD go into the Action Center, etc. Check with Murphy or DWP about how to do that.
