I don’t know of any petitions going in support of Summers. My diary is just giving information, not a petition. Here is something I have just added to it.

PLease read this and decide if lynching Summers is really more important than fixing the economy! I think that like Gore (re ‘invented the internet’ etc), Summers is bending over backwards to apologize for something that was not really his fault. But even if we take it that he was wrong — after it he learned his lesson, and will be more alert to women’s issues now than someone who had never been through such a controversy.

Consider the alternatives BO would feel free to appoint if we reject Summers! Jesse Jackson Jr, the rap musicians — all the REAL mysogynists he pals around with.

If 16% of McCain’s votes were from PUMAs, then 16% of 58+million = 9 million. That means 50% of Hillary’s supporters voted for McCain. Wouldn’t that be more than what the pundits and pollsters were predicting Obama would get? They said he would get 85% of Hillary’s supporters.

NO BAILOUT FOR THE AUTO INDUSTRY

Nancy Pelosi, with the help of Barney Frank, wants to bail out yet another failed sector of the economy. It is not government’s role to reward incompetent, overpaid executives pursuing a failed and anachronistic business model. The American auto industry is in trouble because it produces a shoddy, polluting, gas guzzling product at noncompetitive prices driven by trade union benefit packages. It is a waste of taxpayer money to try to shore up an industry that needs to be radically restructured. The Big Three should be allowed to fail and file for reorganization under Title 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. They will not cease to exist, but will be restructured under the supervision of the bankruptcy courts. Congress cannot do a better job than the courts. The courts will supervise the reorganization of the industry without being tempted to reward lobbyists, campaign contributors and unions for their political and financial support.

Congress must allow the economy, existing laws and judicial bodies to resolve the Big Three’s financial problems and not throw more taxpayer money away under a hasty and ill conceived bailout

OK , OK , Listen , about the Auto bailout . GM , in particular has done everything they can to move those jobs out of the US . They have spent their employees retirement and healthcare money . If they file bankruptcy , all it does is allow them to violate the contracts they have with thier union employees and retirees . Yes they should be held accountable . Yes they should be forced to spend the billions they are making in their overseas operations (which are not taken into account when figuring the GM US operations finances ) but if they are not bailed out , their current workers and retirees will be the ones who are hurt by the companies collapse (which was planned all along ) .
I am not telling you what to do or how to feel about the auto industry buyout . I just want you to have all of the facts and know who is REALLY going to be hurt because of the industry’s corruption and negligence .

58 million (46%) people voted for McCain. BUT it’s NOT 16% of McCain’s voters, it’s 16% of Hillary voters, which was 18 million voters. So 16% of 18 million is about 2.8 million.

Second Update: Open Letter to Mr. Obama

In our two prior articles we discussed our intention to publish a full-page open letter to President-Elect Obama in USA TODAY. In effect, the open letter would be a Petition for Redress of a violation of the natural born citizen clause of the Constitution (Article II, Section 1).

The First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees a citizen’s Right to Petition officials of the Government for Redress (i.e., for a Remedy) of alleged violations of the Constitution. Inherent in the Right to Redress is the citizen’s Right to a response.

We are in the process of raising $90,000 to pay for the publication of the Open Letter and a room at the National Press Club to publicly discuss any response by Mr. Obama.

Time is of the essence. We would like to publish the open letter next week and hold the press conference at the National Press club one week later, in advance of the dates when the Electoral College’s state electors are certified cast their votes. If Mr. Obama is not able to prove his eligibility, the electors will have to cast their votes for someone else for it would be treason to the Constitution to cast their votes for a usurper.

The purpose of this update is twofold: (1) to provide the updated total of the funds received to date; and (2), to review some of the evidence.

I love the idea of national service. I think it would provide a tremendous opportunity for young people (anyone really) to meet new people and to expand their knowledge about our country and how other Americans live. Practical life lessons beyond book learning. And of course, there are many people in need in this country who would benefit from such programs. Teaching, habitat for humanity, elder care, forest preservation, what have you – I think it is empowering for all who participate. I fully support the idea of a national service program. As Mark Twain said, “Travel is fatal to bigotry and narrow-mindedness.” That includes travel within our own borders.

We have received a lot of emails asking what you can do to be heard regarding the issues pending before the U.S. Supreme Court. Although we cannot tell you to do anything, we can answer your questions and inform you what is available so you may be heard.

You as citizens can individually address letters to all the Court Justices and address your concerns regarding Mr. Obama’s eligibility to serve as the President of the United States according to the requirements of Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution.

I think volunteerism is wonderful. My family had me volunteer for my allowance. It’s excellent, and I have many memories, following around my mother- helping the homeless, etc.

The problem is, that the government should not force its citizens to do labor or any kind of work without salary, AND, they cannot force people to work, even WITH salary.

We are free here.

Parents raise their kids.

People choose where to breathe and how to spend their time.

I think Americans should have a choice about public service and not be forced to serve unless we have a crisis that demands reinstating the draft.

I volunteered when I was nineteen, and all your points are right on! The difference is, I had it within myself to volunteer, and, 2) I was inspired…by JFK. Even having it in me… if it had been mandatory, I would have avoided, resented it, or both. In either case, I wouldn’t have done the quality of work I did.

About National Service;
there are a few countries that have fairly benign forms of Universal Service/conscription, like Switzerland. But that’s not what Ossiah has in mind. He wants a PARALLEL service, equally funded and powerful compared to the military. Can you imagine? Matching the cost of F-22s and M1A1 tanks and aircraft carriers etc. on a civilian service? WTF would it be spent on?

There’s WAY more to this than Americorps on steroids.

I listened to about 20 minutes of this show last night and was so irritated that I HAD TO CALL IN. My overall thought is GET OVER IT !! Hillary lost FAIR AND SQUARE !! McCain lost FAIR AND SQUARE !! As I said when I called in, if Hillary and Bill have GOTTEN OVER IT, then you all need to also GET OVER IT. If all these accusations that you are making about WIDESPREAD FRAUD by the Obama campaign had any merit whatsoever, WHY IN THE WORLD would Hillary and Bill see it fit to campaign for this man ? The premise is utterly ridiculous. To say that there was somehow this GRAND CONSPIRACY by the DNC, the media, and the general public, to put this very little known freshman Senator into the White House when compared to the “Clinton Machine” who have been in control of the Democratic party since 1992 is again UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. Criticize Obama cause of disagreements you have with his policies; harping on and on about how he STOLE the caucuses and stole the primaries and stole the nomination and stole the Presidential Election makes you sound like desperate imbeciles.

One more comment to the HOST of the show. If you are going to have a talk show, then LET YOUR CALLERS TALK !! The purpose of a call-in show is to have DISCUSSION with callers. If you just want to spout out a monologue then DON’T TAKE CALLS !! To try and make this points last night only to have you talk over me and interrupt my every thought just simply cause my viewpoint is different from yours, was BEYOND IRRITATING.
