What Gary Said

by murphy on November 10, 2008

in Uncategorized

But finally we get to what this hate speech is really all about:

Maybe next time around — because we all know this isn’t over — the gay community can demonstrate the capacity and willingness to change that America demonstrated when it went to the polls on Nov. 4. Black gays are depending on their white counterparts to finally “get it.”

This isn’t about civil rights, or gay rights, or the black church. This is about revenge.   Jasmyne is angry at gay people like me, correction  white gay people like me, who had the audacity to not vote for His Preciousness.  See, according to her, this election was about paying for the sins of the past, and how dare we not comply.  The price we pay is having our rights denied.  It doesn’t matter that the gay community did overwhelmingly support Obama, the fact that a good chunk saw that Obama was a homophobe and didn’t vote for him is enough to sentence us all to second class citizenship.

Read the rest of Gary’s righteousness HERE.

With 67% of the AA community here voting for prop8. there is bound to be trouble between gays and AA activists.
That 67% is a powerful voting block and is the ONLY reason prop 8 failed.
Furthermore, there is not goign to be nay movement in the AA community in the for seeable future, Not with numbers like those.

If you go to http://www.thecityedition.com and search their archives, there is a long article on the Brazile/Rove Connection that mentions Donna’s charge to the democratic party that they had taken AA’s for granted and it was time to reward them for their support of the democratic party with Obama.

Wait a second, are gays actually shocked that more blacks didn’t support prop 8? It’s been my experience that blacks (in general) have more issues of homophobia than whites. I am not talking percentages here, I am talking about a cultural difference. Nah, I don’t care about making generalities either. This wasn’t really a secret to me.

This is funny, this reminds me of how some liberal ny jews identify with blacks because they feel they are among the persecuted. You think that notion is reciprocal? LOL!

I opened up a blog at wordpress as requested on radio last night. I am having problems figuring out what to do. I am not very good on the computer. What am I suppose to do with this blog now. I am lost. if we expect to get a lot of blogs going from people who are not used to it then someone is going to have to teach us to get us up to speed.

I am ready to delete the blog but will wait.

I am helping another with a wordpress blog and think I should create a visual tutorial to help all of us. I will try for sometime this week. In the meantime, after you get signed up, look for a button that says “design” and then select a theme (there are many to choose from).

women as a whole , gay and lesbian represent a threat to them, because they represent freedom of expression, of press(freedom of press have died in usa) libertarianism, the end of tabooes…etc
as we have been observing since jan.the the excessive out of all proportion control that the “selected” and his gang have on everything

26

Seattlegirl 11.10.08 at 1:17 pm

I would like to mention that due to the sexism shown during the primary and election towards women candidates this is a time that we need to attack sexism in the media and in the Democrat party. Prop 8 is a California problem for gay folks to solve. Can we help? yes we can but I hate to see another movement to bring women into full power sidelined by gay issues. Womens issues do not come second anymore in my book. We are the majority. Let me repeat I do not see gay orgs fighting constantly for women’s rights. They rightly stay focused on their own issues. I think the sexism directed at women by the media and leftist Dems is a legitimate issue and it is the only one I am interested in.

30

Seattlegirl

“I think the sexism directed at women by the media and leftist Dems is a legitimate issue and it is the only one I am interested in.”

Are you implying that sexism is not directed at gay women? That we do not experience the same oppression and violence as any other woman?

31

turndownobama 11.10.08 at 1:27 pm

Margenau,

I made a reply or two to you on the Keep Talkin thread this morning.

32

Seattlegirl 11.10.08 at 1:28 pm

goandersen 30. NO I am saying that I am only interested in dealing with issues that affect gay or straight women and I am not interested in discussing sexual orientation. There are other effective groups for that. So I would be interested in women candidates being treated fairly by the press and by their party. Equal pay for equal work. Passing a cable choice law so women could choose to drop sexist basic cable channels for any reason as opposed to now when they are forced to subsidize sexist channels. Equal coverage for women’s health issues. All of these things benefit all women.

33

goandersen 11.10.08 at 1:29 pm

Seattlegirl
Another FYI

Women within the gay community face oppression not only from society in general, but also from within the community by men. Since most of the community with money are men, do you think their priority is women’s issues?
We had to fight a long time ago just to have a platform in the women’s organizations. So not only are we oppressed by society in general, but also by heterosexual homophobic women.

Heneri 11.10.08 at 8:58 am
Ok, so we have had a week to lick our wounds and vent our anger. Now it is time to reconcile our minds and plan for the future. If we don’t we are just a tempest in a teapot, a gripe session, a meeting place for angry discussion. Ontherocks, you are right. We need to find some direction and go with it.

After a good night’s sleep, (Have to make this quick, have to work today)I have drawn some conclusions. I will share.
First Phase of Thinking:
1. They did it. They (the corrupt ones in the DNC) have almost complete control of our country come Jan 20. Barring a miracle like finding out he isn’t a citizen, we are stuck with him for 4 years.
2. The DNC did not meet their goal of a super majority in the legislature. Some of those seats are still being fought over in recounts and run off elections. Even if the DNC wins there, they still won’t have the super majority. This is significant.
Next phase of thinking:
1. The president elect cannot do much without the backing of the legislature.
2. A significant part of the legislature is up for reelection in two years.
3. Some races are still pending recount or run off elections.
Phase three of thinking:
1. At this point we have to think of containment. If the PE or the DNC sends down some radical measures to the legislature, we need to be on top of the issues and take appropriate action.
2. In the races still to be decided, we need to support the opposition, even if we don’t like them. This aids in containment.
3. We need to be aware of executive orders and their impact on the processes of our government. We need to be willing to hook up with groups who will take the worst of these matters to court if necessary to blunt the impact of bad ones.
4. We need to be diligent in our legislative watch to make sure no onerous legislation gets through without a fight.
Fhase 4 of thinking:
1. We need to be laying the groundwork for the midterm elecytions coming up in two years.
2. Keeping an eye on the powers of the majority, we need to keep the legislature as dilute of supporters of the president as is humanly possible.
3. In order to keep dilution adequate we need to support members of other political parties, including republicans, but especially unaffiliated and third party candidates where appropriate.
4. Before we support a legislative candidate for an office, we need to check them our carefully, so as not to support any radicals.

In conclusion: Containment of the problem is crucial. It can only be done with adequate observation and activism on the part of the PUMApac and other interested parties. The goal must be containment and dilution of the legislature in the midterm elections and support of the opposition in the recounts and run off elections.

PS: As Obama selects his cabinet, he is pulling heavily from the legislature. So far we have one member of the Senate (John Kerry) and one member of the house (Rham Emanuel) who will be leaving to serve in the Administration. The senate seat will be an appointed person until the next midterm election, the house seat will be a special election.

We need to be completely aware of who is involved and what is happening in filling any spaces that Obama appointments to the cabinet leave open.

Obama-Farrakhan Ties Are Close, Ex-Aide Says:
http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/2008/11/10/rbo-news-views-the-its-the-daley-machine-stupid-edition/

Farrakhan has called Jews “bloodsuckers,” “satanic” and accused them of running the slave trade. He has labeled gays as “degenerates.” In a 2006 speech, the ADL again condemned Farrakhan when he said: “These false Jews promote the filth of Hollywood that is seeding the American people and the people of the world and bringing you down in moral strength. … It’s the wicked Jews the false Jews that are promoting lesbianism, homosexuality. It’s wicked Jews, false Jews that make it a crime for you to preach the word of God, then they call you homophobic!”

Sexual orientation should not be a consideration. I also don’t believe in hate crimes. If an act is hateful to one group then it is hateful to any group and should be illegal under any circumstance. Women are so far behind in society that we need to concentrate on issues that benefit us all.

========
Here’s VDH’s commentary, with extra detail, on that:
http://www.victorhanson.com/articles/hanson110808.html

Internal Struggles

We are going to witness a gargantuan struggle among the Obama camp in the next 90 days. On the one hand, the following argument will be advanced:

“Look, Barack, we have a historical opportunity with the Congress, the honeymoon, voter momentum, and your communicative brilliance. Carpe diem!”

“Liberals will never have such a window again, so let’s move full blast with Axlerod, Emanuel, and the Chicago Boys before they know what hit them: make lots of hard-left appointments for agency heads, executive branch controllers and cabinet posts; restore the fairness doctrine and get talk radio out of the picture as it was pre-1987; empower unions with an end to secret elections; move on de facto amnesty and keep the borders porous, given how the continually replenished illegal alien community, with periodic amnesties, evolves into Democratic constituencies in key states; go for BOTH tax increases on income up to 40% and ending the FICA caps so you can get another 15.3%. That way we can pay for some of these new programs. Try to create a national health care system akin to Canada’s. Don’t just go for the agenda, but for structural changes that will make it almost impossible for conservatives to win again. Now with incumbency, restore campaign financing in all its manifestations, lest some Republican gets smart and emulates our money-raising strategies. And while we are at it, why not call in Cheney, Rumsfeld and the Bush neocons and charge them with war crimes for Guantanamo and water-boarding?”

Realists will counter:

“Wait! LBJ, Nixon, and others all blew their mandates. Festina lente (‘make haste slowly’). Remember the Clintonian 1993-4 debacle with gays in the military, Hillarycare, Les Aspen at Defense (cf. his no armor in Somalia decision), Travelgate, etc., so we don’t need more hubris that means calling in another Dick Morris and triangulation to save the Obama presidency. Either raise income tax or lift FICA caps, but don’t do both unless you want to gut, not shear, the sheep. Throw the loonies looking for jobs under the bus where they can join Ayers, Wright, Khalidi, etc. Adopt the Petraeus withdrawal plan, but claim it was really the “Obama” plan all along. Turn over the cabinet to Larry Summers and Robert Rubin types and a few Republican-lites like Chuck Hagel.”

So we will see who wins — or whether Obama votes “present,” and the sides go to and fro, back and forth ad nauseam. Beware, we will hear soon a Reaganesque “Let Obama be Obama!” — if we knew exactly what that would mean?

45

#26Seattlegirl……..I agree. My gay women friends(couple) supported Hillary and the swithched to Obama. Did not think much about the sexism, just that Hillary supports him so he must be OK. I believe all humans should have equal rights. I don’t understand how the gays could have thought with Obama’s associations (Farakkhan, Wright) that they would think that the black community would support gay rights. I will also not forget the 2 gays guys in Hollywood who hung Sarah Palin on the noose. My first proirity(sp?) is about women in gereral whether they be gay or straight.

48

Seattlegirl 11.10.08 at 1:47 pm

Regarding gay marriage specifically. First I have been married twice and I don’t understand why gay people think it is such a great idea. If it is for health care then we should fix health care so all people have their own and no one has to stay married to qualify. I also think that gays should start attacking the idiocy in existing marriage laws tenaciously

For instance I have a friend who is married to the father of her 3 children. He had a sex change operation 10 years ago and now calls himself the childrens Aunt. He is a good, active, responsible parent. He lives as a lesbian in a different state with a woman he has been with for 6 years. He flys home nearly every weekend to be in the family with the kids (has his own bedroom in the family home). So why is he allowed to be still married to his original wife? If he left her could he marry his current longtime girlfriend? If I had to fight for gay marriage rights I would be all over this sort of loophole stuff in the current law and push it until politicians finally say “OK marry whomever you want I can see we can’t involve ourselves in peoples decisions”.

IMO—NOW should review their agenda regarding women’s rights or step aside and we establish a new group that doesnot have exclusion rules depending upon DEM/REPUB/INDY and indivudual beliefs. All women regardless of age, race, straight, gay, pro-life/pro-choice, gun carrying, soccer moms, business owners, homemakers or workerbees should be included in the new group or organization, no one should be discriminated against because they have different ideas, religious beliefs, thoughts, or ways of life. We all need to be united as one force and let our voices be heard. And along our journey we should pick up male counterparts that will stand with us. WWBH–we will be heard!

Oh, and the right to settle down and wind up miserable, and be legally bonded to their mate till the end of time. You know, like a prisoner. Same thing. Same thing. SAME.

goandersen : Well I would say women are the majority and it is time we stop talking about the differences among us and advance as a group. It is time we stop fighting for other peoples issues and put ourselves first. There are so many issues facing us as women that we must prioritize as first the issues that affect us all.

I am also not a one issue voter (abortion) and I do not require idealogical purity from anyone I work with. That is why I am ready to sign on to the conservatives Cable Choice movement which would benefit all women. But I do not feel the need to join their churches.

Well folks the very issue at the Top of Obama’s list is an overhaul of the Fairness Doctrine. If Obama is interested in it…it’s automatically a BAD THING and needs serious scrutiny. Remember, it cuts both ways.

I have a brief summary of the Fairness Doctrine and bear in mind, the writing is of museum quality, even the final paragraph renews the reliance of “who” is reporting the news all assuming they have a modicum of integrity.

Times have changed. Now that the Cable Shows and almost every news outlet sings the same song…it’s fair to assume, the news anchors have been bought as water bearers for the highest bidder.

OMG!!! Did I fall asleep last night and wake up this morning on another planet? Did America ewally elect a President who doesn’t know what to do so is going to go backwards and imitate the Clinton administration, with all Clinton’s people? Makes sense, kinda, since he stole all his ideas from Hillary Clinton.
We have so many phobias in this country we should call ourselvs something like, ‘The United States of Paranoia”.
I have an idea~~How about ‘equal rights based upon equal education”?
Are we really going to be forced to submit to an administration that was elected by people who only voted for the top line?

I was once shut out of her emergency hospital room (in the SF Bay Area!) because I was not family – even though I was more aware of her medical situation than her family, who, live in Salem, MA and were not able arrive for at least a day or more.

I could go on, but am strapped for time.

This is not just about health benefits, and goandersen is correct – you need to educate yourself on this issue.

His supporters and most Democrats have made the same mistake in listening to Oblech that they make with foreign dictators and terrorist leaders: Not believing what they say. They almost always tell you EXACTLY what they intend to do, and it’s written off as rhetoric or hyperbole.

So, “Change”. REAL Change — the end of America as we know it, and as anyone has known it.

Did America ewally elect a President who doesn’t know what to do so is going to go backwards and imitate the Clinton administration, with all Clinton’s people
======================

BAckwards to peace and prosperity? What’s wrong with that? Clinton’s ideas were GOOD (why else were we supporting her?) and the Clinton 90s cabinet did a GOOD job and made them WORK.

If Hillary had won, do you think SHE wouldn’t be using her ideas and her old cabinet people?

An alternative to Huffington Post

I so agree! I used to enjoy Huffpoo’s layout, but can’t came to hate the posters and commenters there due to all the vitriol. Plus, they refused any comments that questioned the one.

Do you think Soros will lend us some money to facilitate this?

I, too, have been married twice.Once for 17 years, next for 13 years. In each case, I lost everything. The depression I endured after the second one nearly cost me my life and another person’s.
Today, there are some things I just don’t do anymore. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t use drugs, and I damn sure don’t get married!!!
Rather than legalizing gay marriage, how about doing away with the burden of the yoke called marriage altogether.
I mean, like how many people are still as wondrously ‘in love’ after 3 years or 5 years, as they were the first 6 months? And after 10 years??? Be honest, now!!!

PS. An alternative “Forester Post” or something like that would not be instead of other projects, it would be a TOOL to help the other projects.

Not “Puma Post” or anything partisan. Just fair and centrist would be best, to reach people who are not in either choir.

I don’t get radio so I don’t know the details about everyone starting blogs. But it soudns like a good idea. ANYTHING to get people to get news somewhere other than the MSM.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

● Only a few days past the election, and both parties are already gearing up for 2012. Unbelievable. How’s Barack Obama going to come up with a campaign slogan for 2012? “Don’t Change — Everything’s Fine!”

● There have been rumors that if the economy gets any worse, Barack Obama will have to suspend any plans for any tax increases . . . except for Joe the plumber, his are going to go up.

● Joe the plumber was on the news again. Isn’t his 15 minutes of lame just about up?

● He said, “I didn’t dream I’d become a household name. Now I’m right up there with Ajax.” Except the big difference is, Ajax works.

● Well, finally the lines at the polls are getting shorter.

● Here’s what I don’t understand: The election was last Tuesday, yet 6 percent of Americans are still undecided.

● Obama won, but they still haven’t broken the news to McCain.

● I feel bad for McCain — I guess that endorsement from Dick Cheney came a little too late.

Editor’s Note: Special: Drugs That Don’t Work and Natural Therapies That Do

——————————————————————————–

Late Night with Conan O’Brien

● Today at his first press conference as president-elect, Barack Obama said America will succeed if we can put aside partisanship and politics. In other words, we’re totally screwed.

● Sports Illustrated says that Barack Obama is going to install a basketball court at the White House. In order to make room, workers at the White House will have to get rid of President Bush’s Slip ’n Slide.

● In Kenya, thousands of expectant mothers are planning to name their babies after Barack Obama. The Kenyans are relieved Obama won because in Swahili, “John McCain” means “your goat just ate my daughter.”

● Oprah Winfrey says she would not accept the role of an ambassador to a foreign country if it were offered to her by Barack Obama. On the other hand, Obama did announce that his new surgeon general is Dr. Phil.

Editor’s Note: Sarah Palin Is Fighting Back Against the Smears — Read Her Words

——————————————————————————–

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson

● Terrible week on Wall Street. This is what happens when Sarah Palin stops buying clothes.

● The Obamas are getting a new puppy for the White House. They’re still trying to decide what to name it. They’re thinking Rex if it’s a boy, and Hillary if it’s a bitch.

● Scientists are saying that the testosterone patch could help women increase their sex drive. Unfortunately, the beard that comes with it is kind of a turn off.

Editor’s Note: Get the USS Reagan Cap — Free Offer!

——————————————————————————–

Jimmy Kimmel Live!

● Barack Obama has already elected his chief of staff; he’s said to be close to naming a secretary of the Treasury; a secretary of state; and a new position: secretary of kicking out George Bush.

● Obama held his first news conference today, as president-elect. White House reporters were confused because he didn’t make up any words, and almost everything he said made sense.

● Obviously there are going to be a number of changes made with the new administration. But I don’ think they should stop there — I would like to see a change in music. Specifically the song “Hail to the Chief.” Last Week, Obama made a reference to the show “Sanford & Son.” I think a combination of the theme song and “Hail to the Chief” would be great.

Is PUMAPAC morphing into a gender and women’s rights movement? As serious issues in the upcoming dark days, they do rate fairly highly, but as a focus they lack a little something as sole or top priorities.

Specifically, preventing the implosion of the country, and probably shortly thereafter the world. Ensuring and promoting gender and women’s rights, while noble, will not achieve that.

We might need those gun packing women… This could get dangerous. I like the idea of Women 4 Women. Men have held the power and the money too long. Living in the South, we have lots of women whose husbands rule the check book. When you think about, most women still feel “beholden” to their men.

re: Boycott Christmas Shopping

Although this was talked about on another thread, I wanted to say that I started boycotting Christmas shopping several years ago. I encourage everyone to do this. Of course, we still celebrate the birth of Christ but I don’t buy gifts for friends and family. Instead, my daughter and I make our gifts. I make homemade candy, like fudge and chocolate mint pretzels. I also pick oranges from my trees and put them in a nice basket and hand paint wine glasses. My daughter knits hats and scarves and paints pictures. Not only does it save me a lot of money but IMO, it’s more meaningful. I really hate how Christmas has become so commercialized.

Sorry if I’m off topic, but I don’t have time to catch up on the all of the post.

I have to say that if women were equally represented in our government and respected in our culture, then our country would not be imploding. And caring about my rights, my daughter’s rights, my sister’s rights, is more than noble. It’s a matter of survival, of having a life worth living. So, gender and women’s rights are the top issue with me. Women made some progress in years past and then stopped fighting. All the hell that Alice Paul and her confederates went through means less than nothing in this country today. How many women, or men, for that matter, even know who Alice Paul was? Before this election, for some reason, most women assumed that they were valued and respected as complete human beings in this country. I believe that’s why all this misogyny has been such a shock to so many. Personally, I expected it and more. I was not disappointed. That’s why I suggested last week that we start a magazine, online or paper, or both, that is by women and for women. And that we fight for a party of our own, because the male-dominated parties we have now are not going to do anything for us. What’s in it for them? Nothing, if they can stomp us down, as they did this time, and suffer absolutely no consequences. We don’t have to be just women, but our main focus should be women. No one else is going to do it for us. Surely this election has shown that to all of us, if we didn’t already know it.

96

kat in your hat 11.10.08 at 2:38 pm

The NEW Reagan Revolution
Bring Conservatism BACK!

From the Desk of Michael Reagan

Saturday, Nov. 8

Dear Conservative Friend,

It’s official: America has its first truly Socialist president… and it’s the Republican Party’s fault.

No, scratch that — it’s the so-called “leaders” of the GOP who are at fault for this humiliating defeat — and I say it’s time to name names and make heads roll in our party. Because, my fellow conservatives, we have been BETRAYED by the very people who promised that, if we would just elect them, they would get into office and vote OUR conservative values.

THEY LIED… THE GOP DIED.

But we CAN resurrect it — IF we start TODAY to take action, by both booting out our failed fake-conservative “leadership” AND vowing to FIGHT tooth and nail against the coming tidal wave of destructive, anti-American legislation that’s now heading our way… thanks to Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

We CAN fight back — Join me now in the NEW Reagan Revolution, to bring Conservatism BACK!

ReaganAction.com
https://secure.conservativedonations.com/reagan_action/?a=1781

As I sit here looking at yesterday’s election results — maps, vote tallies, exit polls, state and national results, and much more — I have to say that, like many of you, I’m in a state of shock.

Not because I’m surprised, mind you — I warned you that this would happen if the Republican Party nominated John McCain for president.

Yes, I was right… but believe me, that doesn’t make me happy. What it makes me… is angry.

Angry at the Democrats, of course. Once again, they ran a campaign full of lies and hate-filled attacks, from Obama’s claims that he had “never heard” his racist pastor’s anti-American rhetoric over a 20-year period of time, to his claims that his terrorist friend Bill Ayers was “just a guy in the neighborhood,” to outright slanderous speech against Governor Sarah Palin… but hey, I expect the Democrats to act that way. It’s their nature.
Angry at the “moderate” (meaning liberal) Rockefeller-wing of the Republican Party, who tried to kill the idea of grassroots involvement of hardworking, patriotic, conservative Americans in our party. There’s NO grassroots activism when the Rockefeller wing’s philosophy prevails; that wing of the party consists of “kingmakers” operating from behind the throne, while the Reagan wing of the party has always lived and thrived at the grassroots, where the real Americans live. When the Rockefeller-wing philosophy prevails, the GOP loses. When the Reagan wing is in control, we win.
Angry with President Bush because he was unwilling to stop Republican Congressional leaders from overspending and because his administration failed to lay the blame for the financial crisis at the feet of Rep. Barney Frank and Senator Chris Dodd that protected Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from reform.

Angry at the so-called “leaders” of our party, who promised us that if we’d just vote for who they put up for election, we’d finally get what we wanted: smaller government, lower taxes, dramatically lower spending, pro-life laws, pro-marriage constitutional amendments, pro-American economics… well, YOU AND I put them in power, and they gave us nothing but BIG GOVERNMENT, BIG DEFICITS, and LIBERAL COMPROMISES.
I say, NO MORE! Join me now in the NEW Reagan Revolution, to bring Conservatism BACK!

ReaganAction.com
https://secure.conservativedonations.com/reagan_action/?a=1781

As bad as yesterday’s election results were, I believe there IS “light at the end of the tunnel” — I believe we now have the opportunity to finally turn out these fake “leaders” that have betrayed conservatism and given us Barack Obama. We have the opportunity to bring back the Reagan wing of the Republican Party, to slow down the socialist legislation from Pelosi and Reid, and to restore this great Republic to its original ideals of basic self-evident truths: our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

This is our chance, friend. It may be our ONLY chance to save our Party — and it may be our LAST chance to save our country.

Here’s what I’m doing to help make that happen: Today, I’m officially launching a new website, ReaganAction.com. This is no wimpy little website with some news articles and a bunch of editorial writers griping about how bad things are. The time for “just talking” is OVER — now is the time for ACTION!

Every day, we’ll give the members of this site — our own “Reagan Activists” — the information they need in order to take real grassroots action to counter the greatest political threat we’ve ever faced within our own government. It won’t take a lot of time — usually only a few minutes a day — but the political payout will be HUGE!

Here are some of the things that YOU AND I will be able to do at ReaganAction.com:

STOP LIBERAL BILLS — We can expect an immediate onslaught of extreme liberal bills to be “fast-tracked” through Congress and signed by Obama. We will constantly be on the watch for these bills — and every time they get introduced, we’ll alert our Activists to literally FLOOD Capitol Hill with millions of phone calls, faxes, emails and even hand-delivered letters and petitions, DEMANDING that our elected legislators do what WE say, or else face our wrath at the next election!
FIGHT LIBERAL EXECUTIVE ORDERS — You can be sure that President Obama (oh, how that phrase terrifies me!) will get right to work on Day One, issuing Executive Orders that will make your skin crawl: repealing pro-life presidential directives, ordering agencies to fund far-left groups like ACORN and the ACLU, signing over American sovereignty to the United Nations and the European Union… he’s got a long list! But for every liberal (and usually unconstitutional) Executive Order that Barack Obama issues, we’ll alert our Activists to BARRAGE the White House with even MORE phone calls, faxes, emails and even hand-delivered letters and petitions, DEMANDING that he “reverse course” on those Orders or face a Republican Congress in 2010!
EXPOSE LIBERAL CORRUPTION — With the Democrats back in power in both Congress and the White House, you KNOW that they’ll be falling right back into their habits of taking lobbyists’ money under the table, trading votes for campaign contributions, spying on and sabotaging Republican legislative plans, covering up their leaders’ sexual “flings,” and spending taxpayer money on personal expenses like never before. But this time, YOU AND I will be there every step of the way, making sure that no stone is left unturned, every dark corner is filled with light, and every illegal act is paid for with censure, impeachment, recalls, investigations, and jail time for every criminal we expose in Washington, D.C.
COUNTER THE LIBERAL MEDIA — Whenever any of these things take place, we’ll be directing our “Reagan Activists” to constantly fill the news media with letters to the editor, guest editorials, and news articles detailing the socialistic and corrupt policies of the new liberal regime, and offering America a better way — the way of freedom… the CONSERVATIVE way.
Together, we CAN save America from the new liberal regime! Join me now in the NEW Reagan Revolution, to bring Conservatism BACK!

ReaganAction.com
https://secure.conservativedonations.com/reagan_action/?a=1781

And don’t forget — I’ll also be spreading the word the same way I do already: by writing nationally-syndicated columns each week, and by speaking to over five million listeners each and every weekday on my nationwide radio show!

We MUST do this. Really — what choice do we have, except to fight back and WIN? As my father, President Ronald Reagan, once said, “We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow.”

My father wasn’t afraid to call evil what it was — and neither am I. He defeated the “Evil Empire” called the Soviet Union — but now we face a new “Evil Empire.” It’s called Socialism, and it’s taken over our once-free nation through the victories of Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

We do NOT have to give up. We do NOT have to slink into some dark corner and lick our wounds. This is OUR MOMENT TO SHINE — and that’s why I’m launching ReaganAction.com!

Like I said before, when the Reagan wing is in control, we win. We don’t need kingmakers; we need workers, and until we get them we’ll stay the minority party. We don’t need to keep the toady liberals who call themselves the “leaders” of the Republican Party; we need conservatives to TAKE BACK the Republican Party, and GET RID OF those losers!

WILL YOU JOIN ME, and hundreds of thousands of your fellow conservative activists nationwide? Let’s show these liberals what real REAGAN Republicans can do, when WE’RE in charge of the GOP!

Join me now in the NEW Reagan Revolution, to bring Conservatism BACK!

P.S. Already, the new radical regime in Washington, D.C. is planning their first legislative attacks on America:

Huge increases in payroll and income taxes;
Redistributions “share the wealth” policies;
Repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act;
Forcing faith-based groups to hire gays;
Repeal all state regulations on abortion through FOCA;
Require taxpayer funding of abortion through Medicaid;
Block all efforts to “Drill Here, Drill Now” in America;
Impose universal health care through job-killing employer mandates;
Appoint activists liberal Supreme Court judges;
Kill conservative talk radio by re-instituting the “Fairness Doctrine”;
Require comprehensive sex education from the earliest grades in public schools;
Enforce bilingual education in the public schools;
Allow convicted felons to vote;
Take secret ballot voting away from workers deciding on whether to unionize…
The list goes on and on and on…

And it’s up to YOU AND I to stop them! Don’t let the door slam shut on this opportunity to make a difference…

Oh, I forgot a few things…first, remember NObama’s acceptance speech given on the stage alone, just himself in the spotlight, no wife, no children, no Biden standing alongside him. They were called out AFTER he was done speaking. Second, when NObama arrived in DC today, Michelle was not on the plane with him, he stepped off the plane alone. He met up with her in the limo.
————————————————————
Is this good news or bad news? LOL. Personally speaking the less
of her I see the better. I also heard something to the effect that she says she is not going to help run the presidentsy(sp?). Sounds like a jab at Hillary.

Couple of thoughts:

1) For those still not in the know, Hillary is OVER. Bill is OVER. They are so old news that they are like ANCIENT HISTORY. They wield no power, they have no pull, and this will NEVER change…UNLESS they break free of the Demonazis and come pack to PUMAPAC….and run either as Independent or as PUMAS. Denver was do or die, and they both chose the later.

2) GLBT SOLD WOMEN OUT. THEY SOLD US OUT. 90% PLUS of state/local and the NATIONAL GLBT went BO IMMEDIATELY. AND I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER FORGIVE THEM. I am sorry, but I have fought for fucking human rights since the day I have been on this planet and I have been on the frontlines of this fight for women, for children, for people of color and for GLBT and NO MORE PEOPLE. I will fight for those that supported Hillary and DID NOT VOTE BO, but other than that KARMA baby, pure KARMA…

3) We’re in trouble, and this is a fact. I am concerned about internet freedoms being cut down, so we need to think of alternative form of finding and grouping together as PUMAS

4) WE NEED TO FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY, WE NEED TO FIGHT BO, WE NEED TO FIGHT FOR WOMEN and for those GLBT who are ON OUR SIDE–this sounds like we are simply Americans for Democracy for all!!

The news is making me crazy, and I am not even watching or listening…I just know :(

There was a lot of talk about where the direction of this group is going several days ago. What are our main top 3 focus issues that are of utmost importance to this group ?
Has this been discussed, agreed and laid in stone ?

It seems with each day, we are fighting little fires every where. I am sure we cannot be the police of every injustice there is out there. In order to REALLY be effective, we need to pick 3 or so issues that is crucial. Keep that always in focus and keep working at them. We can’t have a small group like us go off in a hundred tangents because it will eventually fall by the wayside for lack of majority participation and direction. We would be like the proverbial chicken running with … you know the story.

Are we fighting for gay rights, womens rights, are we political watch dogs, are we exchanging recipes, or getting twisted out of shape because of our views on guns or what have you of the day ? Is this just a community to get together to express whatever news bite of the day ?

I see a lot of good, productive, research posts that get very little attention. It is like water under the bridge as soon as Murphy puts out a new thread. I should not be surprised because that’s how it has been and will continue to be unless there is a way to KEEP IN VIEW posts, that are substantive so folks can read and act on if need be.

I guess, I am feeling a bit scattered. Each day brings a new issue of the day which could be under the bridge by tomorrow. I know for sure that there is a very urgent need for a Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton dedicated to womens rights. We need to have this woman pit bull in order to have presence and in order to nip in the bud any media bias. It is year 2008 and we don’t have anyone to represent us like the Black community does and like it or not, they are effective. But I will guarantee you that if we ever have another female candidate for VP or P, all the women haters will be out in force again – and we will be back at square one – the same square we were in.

That’s my 2 cents today. I will read more than blog from now on.

Ok , the ideas being banded about (Henri)are very good ideas and should be acted on , but , just let me put this out there …
I know you are all bi -partisan , ex-partisan , no-partisan , whatever , now , but I also know that the OPs (original Pumas ) still espouse basic Democratic principles , and their future votes will reflect that .
Considering that there were 18 million + voters who supported Sen. Clinton and share our core political identity (more than who voted for XO ) and also noting that the majority of them were never as informed as pumas were about the caucus fraud and corruption , the buying of super delegates , and the intimidation and sexism that went on , ask yourselves this , ” Had the American people and the majority of Democrats been INFORMED about what was really going on during the primaries , would the out come have been the same ?”
If your answer is “No” (which is what I believe) then ask yourselves THIS , “How , without continuing our work of exposing the leadership of the DNC and working towards removing them from office whether it is through ethics investigations or FEC investigation or FBI investigations , HOW are we ever going to be able to elect a person to office that isn’t hand picked by that same corrupt machine ?”
:::::: disappears like ninja::::::::::

re: Boycott Christmas Shopping

Although this was talked about on another thread, I wanted to say that I started boycotting Christmas shopping several years ago. I encourage everyone to do this. Of course, we still celebrate the birth of Christ but I don’t buy gifts for friends and family.
************************
Good Afternoon Pumas

Mich, what we have been doing for the last 10 years is for all the adults involved in gift swapping, we place everyone’s name in a hat, we pick one name and spend $50.00 on that person.

As far as children go each child gets a gift for Christmas, of course the parents buy their children as many gifts as they feel warranted.

But once a child reaches the age of 12, we adults give the child money, which they are encouraged to spend only after the New Year, when everything goes on sale…

No one I know goes into debt, to give to their children, more than the family finances can afford…

I voted for John Mccain, but am a little confused about all the gay marriage discussion. None of the major candidates supported it – Hillary Clinton, BO, or Mccain.

In terms of sheer numbers, women had a much larger role in electing BO than AAs did.

And people with children went overwhelmingly for Prop 8, as did married people – regardless of ethnicity, etc. Those groups had a much larger impact than AAs.

These are the reasons I am a PUMA and why this is what I will work on in the future. Getting the truth out that was swept under the rug by the msm and DNC………
===================

IMo the only weak point in that chain RIGHT NOW is the MSM. If we get our own news sources going, that erodes the viewership out from under the MSM, one viewer/minute at a time. And gives us tools FOR fighting the DNC etc.

I don’t get radio, but telling everyone to start a blog (or spend more tme posting on other good blogs) sounds good. Even if someone is mostly just blogging about their pets or recipies or whatever, that’s one less minute that their friends are watching tv or reading MSM sites. And when you do have a political comment or post a political link, you’ve got an audience who already trusts your good sense.

Also as I said a big site like Huffington Post but CENTRIST and CIVIL would be a good, simple first project for some PUMA coalition.

126

127

snowtigerredux 11.10.08 at 3:21 pm

Also PUMAS may want to consider joining more well established orgs that represent their personal views on singular issues.
Spread the message that way.
I’m going to.

128

Griffin 11.10.08 at 3:23 pm

Yes, we need to focus. As I have said before, I understand the need to vent. But, aside from letters, e-mails, and petitions, which I’m certain are mainly ignored by their intended targets, venting is all we are doing. And engaging in some vicious in-fighting, which can only scatter us more. So, just as one suggestion: We need a thread dedicated only to objectives, which does not get sent “downstairs,” as the saying seems to be. Any one PUMA should only post once, and so should make it count. Then, at some agreed upon date, perhaps we can actually exercise a little of our democratic character and vote. We need to decide how many objectives will take priority, so we can vote on our preferences. From there, it’s a matter of “planning our work and working our plan.” I know, oversimplification, but you get the drift. What do you all think?

Freddiebrown, your comment is right on target.. But until the Pumapac leaders, come up with a concrete mandate, we will scatter our energies and show our disagreements on different topics, and or just get discouraged and move on.

Murphy has a list of her more dedicated members, who have vision, passion, and brilliant ideas about how a strong movement, like the Pumapac should and could move on to another political level.

I agree that when a good political/social topic has been brought forth, it should be exhausted, with the pros and cons comments regarding that topic, and until a consensus has been reach and then that idea if accepted, should be placed as one of Pumapac’s future mandates.

It should be discussed for at least three (3) days in order for all members to participate
I also agree, that there are good ideas being lost each time a new thread and a new topic is brought up, mostly because Pumas want to be accommodating to Murphy’s leadership and topic suggestions.

Good Afternoon, Pumas. My husband was home today so we ran errands and went out to lunch.
Woodie#171 I believe Obama lost his law license because he lied on his application to two questions: 1. Have you ever gone by any other name; 2. Do you have any outstanding warrants (tickets included) exceeding I think $200? Both answers were no. Also, Michelle gave up her license. Very fishy. They are lawyers and then give up their licenses.
I called Sen. Bill Nelson (Fl) office First, I told him no bailout, let them go into bankruptcy or, if there is a bailout, we want fuel efficency now. Second, the guy didn’t know squat about Shariah financiang so I couldn’t discuss anything with him about that other than to tell him I was against it and, third, I had the biggest argument with him over BO’s BC. I asked him why Sen Nelson had not responded to my faxes of 8/15 and 9/15 regarding BO’s eligibility and why haven’t we seen the BC. He immediately went online and said, Oh, I found it at the LA Times. Of course, it’s that phony Certificate of Live Birth. I demanded that Nelson respond to my request and he said he wasn’t going to and that Obama was a citizen of the U.S. I said, why because you’re looking at a phony online and you believe it? I can’t go into all of it but I go nowhere. No one wants to confront this guy, all the while he is meeting with Bush. I think everyone is afraid to come out and say anything, afraid of a race war. I say, bring it on.

I think right now the PAC is doing some brainstorming while trying to find an effective direction. It is hard to get a fix on just what is happening right now.

The Stock Market continues a downward spiral.
The foreign nations are grumbling about BO.
The Russians are thumping their chests.
Soros now owns the presidency under the delusion that he would know what to do with it if he had it. I guess he finally showed those Bushes who was boss! He does not know he is the same as them.

We need a time machine to go back to 2004, or better yet 2000. The Right wingnuts have failed. The Left wingnuts will do the same. It was America’s middle class that made it strong. It is our middle class and our diversity that must emerge to bring us back.

We must be part of the solution and we must be inclusive.

How can we rebuild a Democracy?

2. Informed Voters

Homophobia is a form of sexism. Both are about power, not sex, like rape is about power. And racism is about power.

YWR1961 – racial unrest is part of the plan.
Murphy #2 – is there a backlash brewing?

Prop 8 has great strategic power for the (power) Haves. Divide the (power) have-nots.

A hypothesis is more likely to be true in proportion to the unknowns it can explain.

—————————————
Generally speaking, lesbians have been at the core of most women’s rights, and many other political movements’, struggles. When those groups begin to gain some attention, lesbians are relegated to the back offices, in order that the organization doesn’t lose credibility, or doesn’t give mainstream the abiltity to dismiss them as just a “lesbian” (eeeks) organization”. Also, the lesbians who “present” well (i.e. present physically as hetero orientation) become the public faces of those organizations.
I wonder if you know that the original NOW was begun by lesbians? I wonder if you know that the lesbians were shoved into the back offices in order to attract hetero women?

I wonder if you are surprised by the number of lesbians who are involved in, and bust ass for, Puma PAC? It makes sense though, doesn’t it? A majority of lesbians are not rainsing children of husbands, and therefore have more time to dedicate.

Repost from yesterday..
*********************
Murphy,

I see our priorities as:

1) Obadminatration Watch – Exchange of information on the blog and a home for alternative news. That would be basic function of the blog.

2) Undermine the Cult of Personality through very specific and sometimes stealth actions – AKA have members on specific blogs targeting certain people and or actions at specific times. This would be an ongoing committment for those involved. I would think undermining the credibility of certain media personalities vis a vis the blogs would be a place to start.

3) Support the New Agenda in terms of eradication of sexism and getting women into office. The group looks like the makings of a strong organization with the prinicipals having a good relationship with the press. I say let them take the lead and we as an organization support their initiatives.

4) Work to bolish the caucus system and work toward election reform. That means working within the party. As you said it Murphy, if the process if trampled upon then no one is safe. Free and fair elections are a cornerstone of our democracy. If we aren’t working to save our democratic process, then I don’t know why we are here.

So, those are the four wall of Puma Palace in my mind. As far as working with Republicans, I think we are cutting our nose to spite our face, if don’t let the issues lead us. The old world of Democrat vs Republican is gone…it’s an archaic concept. Clinging to past definitions…or the past at all will not serve us. We need to determine what we are willing to put ourselved behind moving forward and then get stealth about it.

BEST AND MOST ACCURATE POST ON THE SUBJECT OF “LESBIAN WOMEN”

149

DancesWithPumas 11.10.08 at 3:57 pm

Griffin 11.10.08 at 2:36 pm
“I have to say that if women were equally represented in our government and respected in our culture, then our country would not be imploding. Surely this election has shown that to all of us, if we didn’t already know it.”

How is it the 600 million dollar machine is in debt?

**************************************

Friend –

It took many years of hard work and all of our resources to get here, but Democrats are now in a position to accomplish amazing things for this country.

Our successful 50-state field strategy played a pivotal role in this historic election, expanding our reach in states that haven’t voted for a Democratic presidential candidate in at least a generation — including North Carolina, Colorado, and Nebraska. Thanks to dedicated supporters like you, we saw dramatic victories up and down the ballot.

With Barack Obama and Joe Biden in the White House, we can overcome many of the tremendous challenges facing America today.

But the Democratic National Committee took on considerable debt to make this happen, and we need to get our house in order before we take the next step.

Make a donation of $30 or more now to help us pay for these efforts and you’ll get a 2008 Victory T-shirt.

When the DNC began building a 50-state organization in 2005, under Chairman Dean’s leadership, we took on a significant battle to open new paths to victory.

The infrastructure we put in place expanded the electoral map for our party and laid the groundwork for our gains in the House and Senate.

In the final few months, we did everything we could — including taking out substantial loans — to secure wins in these new battleground states. And it worked.

But as we gear up for the day-to-day struggle of bringing real change, we need to recover the resources it took to win. Please make a donation today and get your 2008 Victory T-shirt:

https://donate.barackobama.com/victoryshirt

This election was a great achievement for the Democratic Party, and I look forward to working with you to change our country.

Thanks for your support,

Tom

So might we start with daily letters to small town or local news papers.
Soft news like what ever happened to..??
Door to door like the religious sect that just left a leaflet in my door. We could start a crawl at election time ………..
HUMAN rights, constitutional rights..basic rights….

Murphy, great new web page!

My computer has been down (two weeks) Having withdrawl from not blogging!! So please bear with me as I catch up.

1. I didn’t vote for Obama, but now that he won I’am HOPING for the best.

2. I was watching the Fox channel last week and they showed this black lady in the crowd and she was saying how elated she was about Obama winning the election and how she will not have to pay for gas anymore or her mortgage or her taxes. WHAT!! Then the news anchor said have we become, “the land of moochers”.
(Now the way I was raised is that you had to work to help pay your bills.)!!!
(I also realize that this is one womens reaction, and not everyone agrees with her)!

3. I now understand the whole “Presidental puppy issue”.
I saw on other web sites that Obama and his wife don’t celebrate their kids birthdays or Christmas.

4. It should be interesting when President Obama has to read to the children every year, “Twas the night before Christmas” as has been a tradition in the white house for years.

5. Also the California Proposition 8, I feel was a hugh step back for people in the gay community. Hopefully they can turn things around by organizing a group to express their views.

And I also would like to mention that in this election year I feel that women have taken a beating as they have tried to get beyond all the SEXISM that took place this year. I can’t believe how I have read that other countrys have women in high power positions and even in offices of president, yet the United States, the super power, has yet to place a women in this position. As I am disappointed in this, I hope that one day we will regroup and be stronger than ever and finally be given that high honor that many aspire too. We will not give up!

Great to be back!

About those $30.00 tee shirts…I called the DNC and questioned why the Obama campaign still needs money, and sending e-mails asking me to donate for a tee shirt after they raised over $600 million and they won already.

I was told maybe the e-mail was delayed. I said no, the tee shirt shows Nov. 4, 2008 with Obama and Biden on it as winners and I got the e-mail it today.

The DNC guy said that is strange. I said well the DNC lost me, I am no longer a dem, especially after the way the dems treated Hillary and Palin.

The DNC guy sounded depressed, lethargic and not excited like he did when I spoke with him during the election, and I asked why. The DNC guy said well, “I have already moved on, but I am reserving judgment, waiting to see what ‘he’ (Obama) does, because I voted for Hillary”. He spit out the word “he”, and did not even use Obama’s name.

There is something strange going on in the democratic party, and I think it is all but done for…

Is PUMAPAC morphing into a gender and women’s rights movement? As serious issues in the upcoming dark days, they do rate fairly highly “fairly highly” is easy to say when one already enjoys the gifts of rights and power , but as a focus they lack a little something as sole or top priorities like men?

Specifically, preventing the implosion of the country, and probably shortly thereafter the world. Ensuring and promoting gender and women’s rights, while noble while basic , will not achieve that. when the status of women is elevated and accorded the same “respect” as men, the political landscape will change, and all else will follow.

However, I think our focus should be on Human Rights, Civil Rights, and preserving our Democracy. Women’s rights falls under these categories. BTW, I was thinking about this whole primary and election cycle fiasco yesterday. Something then dawned on me. I have a sneaking suspicion that Patti Solyse Doyle (sp?) was paid off a long time ago by the Obama campaign to run Hillary’s money dry early in the primary. Hillary had about $100 million ready for when she entered January 2008, and almost all of the money was gone. She was shocked as to where it went. I think that Obama wanted to knee cap her early on so that she couldn’t get her footing and would be playing catch up with trying to raise money. That’s when the campaign then went to asking private donors for money. Then, Doyle was let go. She then went and worked for the Obama campaign. Hillary didn’t have the available funding then to challenge voter fraud in lawsuits such as what occurred in Gary, IN. She didn’t have the $$ to challenge the FL and MI debacle. This is what the Obama campaign wanted and they knew it would keep her one step behind. It also kept the media focusing on That One because he had the money.

The point of the post above, #202, is that there are consequences to positions and attitudes. “Consequences” has been one of the missing links. Consequences do nto have to be violaent or large actions, they can be relatively small “withholds”… energy, assistance, money, votes, taxes, sex, interaction, emotional exhanges, and number of things that people have come to expect.

Re: “The Fairness Doctrine:

“With the deregulation sweep of the Reagan Administration during the 1980s, the Commission dissolved the fairness doctrine.”

—————————

I would like to offer a slightly different viewpoint of “say no” to the “Fairness Doctrine”:

The out-of-control mainstream media bias, as we know it today, is a product of “the deregulation sweep of the Reagan Administration and repeal of “the fairness doctrine”.

The mainstream media is perfectly capable of shutting down anyone with an opposing viewpoint to the highest bidder – because they no longer have any legal obligation to report both sides of a story – yet can still call a report “journalism”.

Basically, the media, as we know it today, use their venues and journalists as media publicists for their respective blocks of advertisers – whether spotlighting their advertisers own interests or playing to their advertisers’ markets (readership/viewing audience).

Without some sort of “regulation” on how news is reported – conglomerates control what the people hear – and there is no law to prevent it. The cannon of ethics for journalists is about as reliable as that other “profession” known as “attorneys”.

Attorneys, as “officers of the court” are sworn to tell the truth in a court of law – think about that one – and then come back after you have finished rolling on the floor, laughing your a$$ off.

And if that felt good – just remind yourself that journalists are supposed to be non-biased, non-partisan reporters of “events”, delivered to the public as “fair and balanced news”.

I have a good idea for PUMA. we organize as a group with the mission of teaching children in schools at various grade levels on up. We teach children how to be open and loving to people of the different sexuality and race. we teach girls how to react and defend themselves. we teach boys how to be nice to girls. etc. we can do the same for race and nationality or anything else.

This will give us the place where we can file for big government grants. 100 million dollars a year should be easy. this will give us power and solve our problem all in one shot.

We have to put together a plan so we can get the money. We can practice in a few local schools for free to get the program worked out. We can go for local state and federal money.

We just are never going to solve the sexual problems of men without educating the men and women as boys and girls in schools. We also are never going to solve the problem without money committment.

This country has a big problem with millions of people. We can not change that overnight. But we can lay the foundation and it will change as the young kids grow up.

What do other PUMA think of this idea.

What Love means to a 4-8 year old… Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is worth it. Touching words from the mouth of babes.
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, ‘What does love mean?’

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined . See what you think .

——————————————————————————–

‘When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore.
So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.’

Rebecca- age 8

——————————————————————————–

‘When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.
You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.’

Billy – age 4

——————————————————————————–

‘Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.’

Karl – age 5

——————————————————————————–

‘Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.’

Chrissy – age 6

——————————————————————————–

‘Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.’

Terri – age 4

——————————————————————————–

‘Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.’

And the final one

The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

‘Nothing, I just helped him cry’

A lot of good it did for Hillary to stand by the donkeys:

Hillary was recently denied an opportunity to head up a sub-committee:
From the Washington Post
“Ailing Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) apparently has rebuffed a bold bid by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) to take over health care policy in the Senate when the new Congress convenes in January.

Sources tell the Sleuth Clinton had approached Kennedy, who chairs the Senate health committee, and Democratic leaders about creating a new special health care subcommittee, one she would chair.

Her hope was to draft the legislation that would fulfill her presidential campaign promise – and President-elect Barack Obama’s – for a sweeping health care overhaul plan.”

Head over to The Washington Post and the NY Post and leave a comment about how you feel about this

You can also message Senator Kennedy and let him know that you support Hillary and that you would like to see Hillary play a role in helping to reform the Healthcare system.

Heneri 11.10.08 at 5:34 pm

I posted this brain storm this morning, then went off to work. I just got the first chance to go back to this morning’s thread and see the discussion there. I haven’t read it all, but I did see that it was discussed. One member even wanted to nominate me for President! Thanks, but I would rather have Hillary!

Anyway, I too, have decided that I am ready to go on and do some good with the knowledge that we have. This is my attempt to get a conversation going on something positive.
Heneri
*********************************************************

Obama announced he wanted his own army back in JUNE!

Dang, pumas.

He said he wanted to build a civilian national security force, just as large, powerful and well funded as our current military. WHY? We already have the army, etc, and we already have police, and we already have national guard. He said this back in JUNE. No one in the ding dong stupid media covered it. Anyway, there were articles on it. You can look up Obama’s Civilian Army, or Obama’s Civilian National Security Force.

Or you can watch him talk about it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt2yGzHfy7s

Makes me think of brown shirts…Hitler Youth…Maoist red army, etc….it’s INSANE that Obama is getting away with such things without even once being questioned.

We aren’t really ‘fighting’ for anything. Just bitching, mostly, about this person or that topic we don’t like or happen to agree with. Either here, or other blogs, or in countless emails to legislators, news media or anyone else we think might listen but probably doesn’t give a crap. This group sold out that group and vice versa. The Republicans want to rid themselves of their leaders who they believe are inept and counter to the party’s platform. Same with the democrats. Conservatives want to throw out conservative leaders and democrats want to throw out liberal leaders.
The really sad thing is that neither of them exist anymore.
For a brief moment in time a large group of american citizens stepped out of their complacency, out of their easy chairs and away from their favorite tv shows or whatever, and voted in a new breed of Dictator, one who may actually prove to be the Anti-Christ. And that was the day the country we’ve always known as America~~~died.
If we are going to fight, let’s FIGHT. If we’re just going to sit around and talk, and bitch and moan~~then RIP, America.

DancesWithPumas: You are most welcome – (I railed against it when Reagan deregulated the industry and abolished the “Fairness Doctrine” – because anyone informed about the issue – and concerned for the publics right to know all of the facts – could see where it could lead – and it did.)

That is what I believe will be PUMAS and other similar groups GREATEST CONTRIBUTION to our society if it can get really focused. That is to INFORM PEOPLE OF THE FACTS – and find a way to get the information out “on the street” and to the non-internet immersed general public.

#223 GoPumaGo

I have always believed that we need to start with the children and then the young adults to teach them understanding of others, tolerance, kindness, etc.

Look how Obama used the youth and you can see how easily they are influenced.

Although my kids are grown and out of the nest, I believe parents should be aggressively involved in youth activities, the PTA, sports, etc. Over the years with two parents working or a single parent raising kids alone, parents don’t have the time to spend with their kids anymore. My adult son is a Big Brother to two teenage boys and it really makes a difference in their lives.

On Pamela Geller’s sight this morning. Apparently there is a procedure to debate the electoral votes (in a given state) before the US Senate. The basis of a challege would have to be that his citizenship status has not been varified by the proper authorities.

*********************************

The Office of the Federal Register at the National Archives and Records Administration administers the Electoral College process, which takes place after the November general election. The Office of the Federal Register does not have the authority to handle issues related to the general election, such as candidate qualifications. People interested in this issue may wish to contact their state election officials or their Congressional Representatives.

Because the process of qualifying for the election and having a candidate’s name put on the ballot varies from state to state, you should contact your state’s top election officer for more information. In most states, the Secretary of State is the official responsible for oversight of state elections, including the presidential election. Visit the National Secretaries of State web site to locate contact information and web addresses for the Secretary of State from each state and the District of Columbia.

Under federal law an objection to a state’s electoral votes may be made to the President of the Senate during Congress’s counting of electoral votes in January. The objection must be made in writing and signed by at least one Senator and one member of the House of Representatives. Both the Senate and the House of Representatives debate the objection separately. Debate is limited to two hours. After the debate, both the Senate and the House of Representatives rejoin and both must agree to reject the votes.

I hope all the traditions stay the same when he is sworn in as President. I’am not sure if anything I read anymore is true or not in the other major newspapers I’ve read on the web.

#168 DancesWithPumas — Thank you for correcting that. As I’ve said I read it on a web site that Obama doesn’t celebrate Christmas with presents or Birthdays. I think it’s great if they find other ways to do this as you have said with sleep overs, etc. I was unaware of the other ways as they didn’t mention that in their article. But that’s the media for you. They give only half the story sometimes.

Thanks for correcting me.

Also I understand that we have to unite as a group ourselves not just women or gays or men,BUT as people united for the road ahead. As we can only anticipate what Obama will do.

Ostensibly, for the purpose of the blog, Murphy is the apparent leader and you, Mama and Maryland (whatever happened to MP?).
But, for the sake of long term-survival, leaders unknown to the public and most others should be picked. Mimic the enemy.
Smaller cells, (oops, like groups of 4) around the country.
Basically, organize by locale. Carry messages by hand, when travelling. Or by pre-arranged code or events.
This Central Government we now have is only effective as long as we NEED them.
But by organizing local infrastructure~~~food, transportation, communication, medical necessities~~~we abate the need. And we stop sending them our $$ in the form of taxes and use it on our own communities.
Our national economy is already in a shambles. Our nation is the greatest debtor nation on earth. Our cash money is nearly worthless. So we need another medium of exchange and stop sending all our remaining wealth to support the dictator and his ’system’.
May I remind everyone that our American Revolution began over a half/penny tax on a box of tea? Now look what we pay. We are a nation of voluntary slaves, and apprently LOVE it.

For further information and to find out you are not alone:

Description
AttacktheSystem.Com is maintained by American Revolutionary Vanguard, a loose association of individuals from widely divergent backgrounds and beliefs who share a common opposition to the prevailing policies of the government of the United States. Specifically, American Revolutionary Vanguard recognizes the threat to international peace and economic stability posed by the policies of the present United States regime and its allies. We further recognize the on-going assaults on Western traditions of political and intellectual liberty at the hands of an escalating totalitarian humanism and a parallel system of high-tech, intrusive surveillance systems, militarized police forces, prison industries, academic censorship and other forms of repression.
Against this status quo, we work for an alternative political vision that is anti-authoritarian, non-militarist, non-Marxist and decentralist. We generally reject archaic labels such as “liberal” and “conservative” or “left” and “right”. Instead, we adhere to the Jeffersonian dictum that “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty” and draw on traditions of popular struggle against tyranny within our national history and in the history of other nations. Some of us began our political lives on the Left, some of us on the Right, others somewhere in between. Yet we share a common opposition to the dominant paradigm of imperialism, neoliberalism, globalism, divisive and authoritarian multiculturalism, bureaucratic managerialism and the therapeutic state, whether in the form of social-democratic, liberal-internationalism or neoconservative “benevolent hegemony”. These matters cannot continue to go unaddressed if the United States is to avoid degenerating into a fracticious, bankrupt police state with a failed, two-tiered, Third World economy, international humiliation and military ruin.

Our health care is a scam and I would sooner trust my health to a native american shaman that some idiot who went to ’school’ for years to get a piece of paper that entitles them to become legal drug pushers.
In order for their health care ’system’ to work, they have to convince us, and keep us convinced, that we really are sick.
Let me ask you all~~~
How many people can you tink of, in your whole life, who have EVER gone to a doctor who CURED them?
Usually, the cotors want to perforn ‘tests’, which puts money in their pocket, the Secretary, and appointment scheduler’s pocket, the x-ray or other technician’s. And then, “Here!! Let me write you a prescription for this, and for that, and you come back in 2 weeks and if nothing has cjhhanged we’ll perform more tests and try some other prescription.”

#42 kat in your hat:
“Honestly, between all the anti-Israel/ anti-jew CRAP, and all the anti-gay CRAP around Obama, I am just disgusted. Disgusted that anyone would vote against their own self interests by supporting this Ocrap installation.”

I was raised in a Jewish family (in the South, no less). But while I don’t currently practice formal Judaism, my sisters and family most definitely do–and every last one of them voted for this Ocrap Installation. Needless to say, like lorelai, Jenniforhillary and other PUMAs, I’d desperately tried to guide my family to see the truth and then judge appropriately–re-focusing from their koolaid haze. They’re all extremely brilliant and educated folks.
They didn’t. And yes, I’m personally in a 110% DISGUST mode right now.

Disgusted at the apparent strained silence between my family and moi.

Disgusted at any Jew (including my own family) who voted for that Ocrap Install, after the schooling and years of Saturday lessons we’d all “endured” since birth re: Hitler’s Germany, Russia’s Cossack killing brigades, and even America’s own anti-semimetics (remember, I was raised in the South where Blacks and Jews were/are regularly discriminated against via KKKcrimes, social jokes, Country Club & HS/College sororities segregation, etc.)

Disgusted that now, that we have to toss the Gays into that same cauldron all over again. Except that this time, the Black majority (67%) have thrown all of us under the O-bus.

yes, I’m disgusted, and find it morally wrong to sympathize with any of’em right now — any of them who voted for puppet-Obama, that is.
This Ocrap Install has placed all of these raw issues face-front & center and sent us back in time to the 60s. I’d already lived it once, I sure as hell don’t want to re-live it again. What a waste.

Wrong Jenni, the ultimate power rests with the people. As always. One way or another the people are to blame for this.
They have two of the three branches of government for now. We can and must shut them down at the midterms.
I the meantime. slow them up every way possible.

Murphy, Murphy, Murphy

OK so maybe this has been mentioned a gazillion times but you/we/the PUMAS need to write a BOOK.

1. It will get the info out there in a consolidated fashion.

2. It could be a collaboration between some of the major PUMA groups…each writing a chapter. Thus keeping the larger group concentrated on a central focus point…and drifting apart or becoming defunct as you have mentioned.

3.You/we could get financial support from individual PUMAS but also Lynn De Rothschild…she has name recognition and could get TV interviews to help promote it.

4. You/we have tons of info on this site to reference to chronicle who we are, how we started, fascinating blog comments…info about nobo that never made it to MSM…why we are against nobo…what our mission is now and so on.

5. We have some excellent PUMA writers to pool from here and at the other websites.

6. It would give us a focus beyond infighting and provide and opportunity to recruit more PUMAS.

7. Keep it simple and it will work!!
Entitle it: Who ARE These PUMAS? The REAL Grassroots Movement

Am going to come up with some chapter titles…anyone esle want to join in?

Just to be a little reductionist….

This is a blog. One of many PUMA blogs. There are also many other blogs focused on diffent causes. Most of us post at more than one blog and work for more than one cause.

I suggest that this blog continue to do what this blog does best: actions and research. For whatever compatible cause our members ask help for, from one week to the next, as different things happen in the outside world.

Current needs in the news seem to include Hillary’s health care subcomittee, reaction to Prop 8, defending Palin. Up soon I hope will be founding and/or supporting alternative news sites getting started (http://dailypuma.blogspot.com/ is one).

We don’t need to pledge our whole group forever to certain priorities. We can just do actions and discussions on whatever our members bring up — just as we’ve always done, really.

Setting a particular focus would mean losing some members and trying to recruit from outside to replace them.

PS. Subject to authority of Murphy and Mama and others that are doing more of the work and paying more of the expense of course.

Hi ! I’m confused…when BHO took over the DNC right after the ’selection’ he supposedly tapped Howard Dean for the next term. Now I am reading that Dean is leaving the post in January….is it a ‘red herring’ if so why ? The Kennedy dissing of Hillary is no surprise…I wonder if they will take her Senate seat ?

co-chair of O’s transition team says Obama will be “ready to RULE on day one.”

RULE? Not lead? Or govern?
