I fear that nothing is going to change in the Dem party. As Bill Owen, a superdelegate who visited the R and B committee in Denver says: everything has been said that needs to be said on the topic but not everyone has said everything they want to say.

One of the reasons I DID NOT want to see O win was because I wanted the opportunity to really see a shake up and even possibly and people interactive process for getting a new DNC chair. Now, that chair will be selected by O.

I will continue to discuss this ‘coalition’ idea with my sister and a few other people who might be willing to participate in some group efforts.

We will have to carefully construct any coalitions we make to respect everyone’s diverse beliefs and not have any in fighting. The goal would be purely to work together for the greater good of the country by pushing for election reform.

We might be able to work with a variety of groups in this capacity and on a variety of issues when the need arises.

I don’t disagree with you on philosophy. I disagree that third party is the way to go. It is sooooo difficult to compete. I’ve watched people in two different third parties try to compete even on a local level and they just can’t. Let alone winning house of rep seats in the U.S. house.

However, even as I try to reapproach friends from before the contentiousness of this election broke out, I have a terrible feeling that we would be totally shut out of any democratic process.

However, all of that being said, the Democratic party has their county conventions nation wide in March and April. This is how the “progressives” won. They started taking over those conventions 4 years ago. Perhaps we can get some of us elected to county boards throughout the country.

I had a long conversation with a sister who is a moderate right winger. (different shades of gray?) She tells me that there are a number of conservative women blogs and organizations that are just as upset about this election as we are. Most of their concerns started with the shoddy treatment of Hillary and then the follow up with Sarah. Then the ACORN mess is the topper offer.

As we discussed various issues, we came to an interesting conclusion. As seperate groups, we are likely never to agree with one another on the things like abortion rights, gay rights or other individual issues. The one place where we do agree is on voting rights, having a fair process, and women being respected. All that said, we also decided that it would be a very good thing, and doable, if we form a coalition of some sort to push for the voting reforms and the women’s respect issues that we all agree on.

Sounds like a good idea. We might even take an idea from Alinsky and form ad hoc coalitions with different combinations of other groups one issue at a time. Well, I’m not putting that right.

Well, I got a call today and they identified themselves as from the Rasmussen polling center (a robocall) and asked about 20 questions. Many questions about Michelle Obama and what I thought about her. I found that kind of odd. Just wanted to share that.

About 3 million Hillary supporters have ALWAYS planned to vote for McCain, ever since the exit polls in the late primaries. Another about 4 million were planning to stay home.

This was verified again just before and soon after the conventions. One poll said Obama had made “no progress with Hil supporters.”

The financial crisis may have changed this, I haven’t seen a relevant poll since.

Last night we downloaded the data from the election from my home county. Now, we can’t get the ACTUAL write ins until about a month from now. However, 1.51% of voters either just didn’t vote in the presidential election or they did a write in. That totals about 2200 voters in my county alone. Now, Im not niave enough to believe we got 2200 votes for Hillary. I suspect there will be a large contingent of Ron Paul Supporters. I believe there will be a large bloc who wrote in Fred Thompson (this is TN remember) but I bet we got several hundred votes for Hillary and I CANNOT WAIT to find out.

I wonder what would happen if the State decided, for whatever reason, that any women who got pregnant had to have an abortion. I wonder if the anti-reproductive rights people would switch to the “pro-reproductive rights’ position.
Just wondering aloud.

Reproductive rights and adult women’s sexuality rights (altho lesbianism isn’t limited to sexual orientation, as I’m sure we all know), are core issues to women’s personhood, and if we can’t respect women at that level,
I can;t be sure that anything else is genuine.

How do we hold them accountable?

We all know now that the Obots feel they have crossed the finish line, the MSM and the DNC will try to make nice with us again, just to sweep us under the rug, plus to have us keep paying their bills.

In my mind, this raises the difficult issue as to how to hold them accountable?

SHARIA LAW AD THE US BANKING SYSTEM

The Silent Jihad Against the West

Anyone that cares to learn about what is going on in the world is familiar with active jihad, the “holy war”, conducted with terrorism and directed at the modern world in general and Western Civilization more specifically. But there is also another form of jihad that is part of the deliberate effort to have Islam replace all concepts of morality and the values held dear by the rest of us. The name of this silent “fifth column” effort is “Sharia Banking”. Unfortunately, Sharia Banking is increasingly accepted by Western banking institutions without any real understanding of what the Muslim goal is and what is at stake in the efforts by these institutions to attract more business, profits and money to bail them out of financial messes they brought upon themselves.

Islamic Sharia banking is coming to the United States and other Western nations, thanks to global banks such as Citigroup, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. Great Britain is now pledging to become the Islamic banking center of the world. Clearly the headlong rush by all global banks to enter the world of Islamic banking is well underway. Why do Western banks seek to participate in Sharia banking; because it gives them a chance to enter the Islamic banking industry which has over $1.5 trillion available today and is growing at a steady and explosive rate of over 15% per year.

The implications for the west, and especially for the United States, are staggeringly destructive. Islamic banking working through global banks is doing for Islam what it could never do on its own: giving legitimacy to Sharia law and infiltrating it into the fabric of Western society.

For those not familiar with Sharia Banking; it is a system which creates and sells services and products that are in strict accordance with Sharia law. Sometimes it is referred to in the Islamic culture as “Sharia finance”. It dictates how the practices of banking, investment, bonds, loans, brokerage, etc, are to be conducted.

To insure compliance and to become “Sharia banking” compliant, banks must hire Sharia experts to review and approve each product and practice of the bank. This is known as halal, which has been described as “the Muslim equivalent of kosher in Judaism.” There is a shortage of such Sharia experts so there is competition among banks to find such experts to sit on their boards of directors. By having an “expert” involved in banking decisions, this provides the legitimacy to each banking decision because it is made at the director rather management level. However, most of these Sharia experts” are from the radical Wahhabi school of Islam in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere, and they hold views diametrically opposed to the basic values of Western civilization.

The Center for Security has identified some of the Sharia experts sitting on the boards of U.S. financial institutions. The top twenty “advisors” include many with conflicts of interests and anti-trust issues since they sit on boards of many Islamic banks at the same time. The Center for Security identifies a couple of advisors with ties to money-laundering and terrorism:

Yousuf Quaradawi who is prominent in the Muslim Brotherhood, owns two banks himself and has issued statements in support of Palestinian attacks on Israeli citizens and has issued rulings supporting Hamas and Hezbollah jihad attacks against Israel.

Muhammad Yaqui Usami who is a radical cleric and Sharia court judge in Pakistan. He is on the board of organizations that train thousands of Taliban and jihad foot soldiers. But the most heinous thing is his complicity in the murder and suffering of countless innocent Muslims as apostates because they disagreed with his Islamic mandates.

These are the kinds of people advising U.S. banks on how to conduct their business to assure they are “Sharia compliant”.

There are many differences of Sharia banks from orthodox banking. In Sharia banking interest (deemed “usury” regardless of rate or amount) cannot be charged, and investments must not be associated in any way with gambling, drinking alcohol, eating pork, etc. Very importantly, it calls for alms giving, referred to in Islamic parlance as “zakat”.

Zakat demands a tithe of 2.5 percent of revenue be donated to Islamic charity. If Western banks follow this rule, it is certain that a portion of this money will end up in the hands of radical Muslims who are sworn to destroy the United States and replace our government with Sharia law.

For those unfamiliar with it, Sharia law is the legal and judicial system of Islam that is brutally imposed on many Islamic countries in the Middle East. It is the embodiment of the totalitarian ideology practiced by the Taliban, Iranian Mullahs and Saudi Wahhabis.

Sharia law is perpetuated by claiming to have its roots in the Koran, but it is actually for the most part based on rulings and dictates made by Islamic scholars and caliphs over several centuries. Non Muslims know Sharia law’s practices of harsh brutality and punishment as well as the total subjugation of women from newspaper articles describing the many rulings handed down by Sharia courts. These actions have shocked the Western world; here are a few examples that have been written in various press accounts:

▪ The December, 2007 “teddy bear” case in Sudan, where a British teacher was sentenced to 40 lashes and a year in jail for allowing her students to name their teddy bear “Mohammad.” Islamic mobs demonstrated in the streets and called for her execution.

▪ The November, 2007 case where a 19 year old gang-rape victim in Saudi Arabia received a sentence of 200 lashes for riding in the car with her rapists.

▪ In 2006, a 34 year-old mother who was forcibly raped was ultimately tried and convicted of adultery, and was ordered to be stoned to death. Publication of cartoons in Denmark deemed disrespectful of Mohammad which caused endless demonstrations and mayhem, as well as the killing of many people.”

Islam and Sharia law demands total and unquestioned submission. Its followers are told that Sharia law is given by Allah and that whatever befalls them (good or bad) is “Allah’s will.” To question a judgment under Sharia (right or wrong) is to question Islam itself and will only bring harsh punishment. Curiously, by Islamic thinking if a person receives harsh punishment for something they didn’t do is nonetheless acceptable; the rationale being that Allah could and would have prevented it if that had been his will. This fatalistic approach which is contrary to what all other societies believe allows Islamic rulers to get away with virtually any thing they choose to do.

International bankers have long ago proven themselves to be completely amoral when it comes to money. They financed the Bolshevik Revolution in 1918 just as readily as they financially supported Hitler in the 1930’s. Now they are doing the same for the Islamists that want to destroy Western civilization just as the communists and Nazis tried unsuccessfully to do before.

Unfortunately the odds of Islamic success are very different than the earlier threats. For one thing there are about 1.5 billion Muslims in the world and Islam is the fastest growing religion in history. Secondly, the spread of Islam is financed by the oil that is extracted from mid-eastern countries and thirdly, Islam has already infiltrated most of the west, especially in Europe. Now Islam has the combined support and encouragement of the entire global banking community.

There is an unholy alliance between Islam and global banking which may be the final nail in the coffin of Western civilization in the historic quest for Islamic global domination. Remember that the next time you hear Islamist mobs chant “Death to America” – and don’t take it so lightly.

Two misunderstandings met head-on

I have the blog but can not find anything. I guess she mentioned something about people talking about her motivations. why she does things.

I know for a fact that what she is doing requires incredible dedication and long hard work. she probably has this on her mind 24/7. so it is easy to not be appreciated or question her motivation.

I once founded and ran a group and people wanted things different so I gave them the group. It was disolved withing 2 weeks. no one wanted to do the work. I had been doing everything myself and people did not appreciate it. They wanted me to do things differently and I just could not get it all done by myself. so I gave them the group free. by the way the people complaining were people who never came to the group. they were NEW people. I had done the group for about 2 years and was tired of the daily grind. It is hard work. no body wanted to help.

I was not paid and never made a dime. Never intended to make a dime. It was fun and a great learning experience but a lot of work. at the time I had some time to do it. That was about 20 years ago.

Just read the psych analysis of the fraud Obama and wasn’t surprised by any of it. I tagged Obama as an undiagnosed and/or untreated narcissist months ago, just based on my own observations. As a matter of fact, I posted that opinion on at least three news site comments sections and asked if any psychiatrists out there cared to voice an opinion about it. I was attacked by several posters, who called me a racist who spread hate. Talk about pots and kettles. It’s clear to any who are actually seeing this man, that he is actually evil, and his followers are deluded and dangerous. His wife is a walking skinful of hatred. I don’t know if his poor little daughters are ruined yet, but if they’re not, they soon will be. We have put a monster in our highest office and I fear we have yet to reap the whirlwind that will result. When he falls–and I do mean when, not if–anarchy and violence will rule. You know, I had a friend in law school, a mellow, soft-voiced black man, who completely shocked me one day when he showed me his personal arsenal, which he had collected for the coming race war. Naturally, not having a clue as to how much hatred many black Americans have for white Americans, I thought he was a little nuts for thinking such a thing could happen. Now, I’m certain he was right. When the scales fall off nonblack Americans eyes concerning their “savior,” and the rebellion begins, I very much fear that an actual war will explode across our country. Please, let me be so wrong. Let me be a paranoid malcontent. Don’t let me be right.

What has happened to the America I knew even a year ago? I mean, really… thinking of a national holiday for BO??? Allowing him unlimited powers to do whatever he wants and even bypassing the congress (such as it is now that the election is over) without even batting an eyelash… Where is America The Beautiful? America, in a way, seems to be “going on as usual” when you turn on tv and see sunday football and such, but when you pick up the paper, turn on the news, or read the paper… what happened to AMERICA and AMERICANS???

Today, I saw a newspaper headline stating, “Race relations expected to improve”
It made me so angry. Because it seems like ‘blackmail’. We had to elect a fricking black president in order to get along? I’m, like, Well, KMA!!!

Then I went into the grocery store, a fairly large one and was talking with a guy in the Produce Dept.
He said his hours have been cut from 40 to 15.
When I asked why, he said because of the ‘slow-down’. I hadn’t even thought of that. But, apparently, because of all the unemployment and fears over the economy, people are spending much less at the grocery stores. Thios particular one filed bankruptcy during the last slow-down and this time, he said, they may possibly even go out of business completely.
I saw that as an eye opener~~that things economic are imploding even faster than I expected.

I swear, I think it should be mandatory that every single puma has a blog. If they are the sort that hates it and doesn’t want to maintain it, then they can at least write out an essay–keep it on the front page of blog, throw on links to other puma blogs in the blog roll, and promote/ advertise Puma Pac and Just Say No Deal with image hyperlinks on their sidebar.

It’s important, because once you publish your blog it is like a puma flyer forever blowing around cyberspace, leading them to join us, or at least educate them some.

A free market is a free society, and truly, any sort of creative or innovative person should feel threatened by anything other than an individualist economy structure…owning your own private land, owning the rights to your accomplishments…etc, are what made America special, and what made our people so free create and invent.

I feel like national socialism is a direct threat to every single artist, writer, builder, philosopher, inventer, etc.

Actually, where the country is gone wrong is going all the way to the far right or going all the way to the far left when the ONLY WAY to get things DONE in America is by meeting in the MIDDLE….. LOL….

I can say from experience there are many lesbians who have varying view of the issues….ie…some are fiscally conservative, some are prolife..most have the same economic and kitchen table issues, concern about national security issues as anyone else. It is a fallacy to believe that the only and main issue is gay marriage. Frankly, I haven’t been a great advocate of it…I think civil unions allow for equal rights in many arenas and is a good viable option for this time and culture. I know that seems at odds with the majority view, but I have a theory that gay marriage may bring on all kinds of binding implications within the context of relationships that g/l/b/t’s are not used to dealing with…i.e. freedom to move on when needed.

So I am bringing this up to make a point that there are probably a lot more “closet” Repubs than one realizes…or at least Independents!

I do have to tell this story….a friend called the other day to ask me to help her come out of the closet reagrding her voting for McCain to her friends. I laughed. We hadn’t talked politics much so I wasn’t sure how she voted. I was learning that I could lose friends fast if they were the typical lesbian “feminist” variety. So it was great to know this particular friend was a PUMA without knowing it. I told her about PUMA…I’m sure she lurks but would not post. Margenau, well, I used to be very very proud that America fought for democracy around the world, but it is always our burden.

We have moral responsibilities, don’t get me wrong–like if there is genocide and horrible treatment of women, and total famine, ongoing civil wars, etc. Ok, well, for instance, I don’t think it should be America’s sole responsibility to financially cure global poverty, like Obama wants. That’s absurd to me. It should not be our total burden. And we have enough Americans suffering here who need to be concentrated on.

Yes, we should have a much stronger international peace-keeping force, but at the same time, we are a sovereign nation and should never forget it. We are not “the world”…we are just the United States of America, and we should continue to defend our nation no matter what, and also maintain a strong economy by helping our OWN first.

As I’ve said, he was part of the team Bill Clinton used to clean up after Bush Sr in a situation similar to this: just the ability we need in that job again. Recreating the Clinton 90s team is very important for many reasons; if there’s any chance to do it we should grab it.

That’s too important to throw him away for PC reasons, which are probably just as distorted as when people said Gore said he invented the internet or the rumors they’ve circulated about Palin and HIllary and Bill. Suddenly putting gossip and soundbytes ahead of ability to FIX THE ECONOMY makes us all look bad.

I’m a PUMA because I suported HIllary as the most experienced person to recreate the Clinton economy of the 90s. She was rejected on woo woo grounds. Hillary was an AGENT of change rejected in favor of a SYMBOL of change. I don’t want to see that happen to her cabinet members also. It would be a repudiation of the Clintons’ actual work and make us look silly.

As for who Summers is ‘loyal’ to … if you find evidence of him badmouthing the Clintons or supporting Obama during the spring, let me know. But still the important thing is the job Summers and others did in the 90s, and getting them back to it.

I do think that Clinton 90s people should be given the benefit of the doubt, instead of discarded for ‘new fresh’ people. They don’t need on the job training and they are already a team and they are more likely to phone the Clintons at 3 am. Also they may be a useful power group for the Clintons in 2012.

Remain calm! Do not panic.
Avoid areas of civil unrest if possible. If caught in civil unrest take appropriate action.
Get informed and stay informed. Understand martial law can be a temporary crisis or an extended one. In extreme cases the shape of a whole nation can change.

Yes, back in the early 90′s we thought the things happening now, were going to happen then. I already knew how to raise veggetables organically. and how to shoot, hunt, dress out,preserve, and cook meat. But I went on to build my own cabin without power tools, heat and cook with wood, dig my own well, or find other sources of potable water.
As our system becomes poorer, and people have less money dfor the necessities of survival for their families, they become desperate. And that is where the heavy, jackbooted government control comes in.
That is why, at the time, I became a fringe member of an unofficial, Washington state militia. The governement came down on them hard then, so everyone retreated into small cells across the country and, fortunately, they still exist. One of the best is in Alaska.

In 9 months time, I had more hours on the Crisis Hotline than all the other volunteers combined.
Many of the victims are gun owners today.

funny story– We lived in Plainville, Ct for years, but would go to visit granny in Georgia during the February school breaks. Returning home one year, my son, (he was about 6 or 7 years old), started crying and crying. Nobody could figure out why. We were all remarking about the fact that the closer we got to Connecicut, the more snow you saw still on the ground. He got louder and louder, but refused to tell us what was wrong. We finally stopped at a rest stop to talk to him. Between all the sniffling, he explained that he wanted to go back to Georgia because the trees were turning green and there was no snow, because he was SICK of the snow!
We all had a great laugh. He was completely serious about it though.

I have many friends in graduate school who are in psychology and I know practicing psychologists. They do not advocate for fire arms because of rule number 1, it can be used against them, and they certainly do not comment as a counselor incogneto. By the way, speaking of the bailout, I read where AIG is probably going to be needing even MORE help. Incidentally, I’m seeing ads on tv all over the place for “term life insurance with 75% lower rates than other companies” and it’s being sold by either AIG outright, or a brokerage, who (if you listen carefully and/or read the fine print) is selling AIG. I hate to say this, but selling insurance 75% cheaper than other companies is alright, but GOOD GRIEF…. what good will it do to pay insurance premiums 75% cheaper if you’re going to have trouble getting claims paid????//

airforcehusker, yes, I think it’s normal. Many people feel upset and fed up and anxious. Have you been to Alaska…you said you are thinking of retiring there? It’s very tough country there. Much of it is dark, cold, and isolated. It’s absolutely gorgeous though, and you are likely correct about the people. I think there is probably a different level of self-reliance there.

I lived there for 5 years from 1993 to 1998. It is very tough country but builds character and is great for families. Hell i was there when they finally recieved their first walmart. I am a hunter so the place is paradise. It just seems to me that all the shit going on in the united states this is the place to get away from all of it. There is a different mindset up there and most in the lower 48 wouldnt understand it.
