I was not aware of it and want to make sure you
all are. No more Del Monte products in our family!
______________________
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s home district includes San Francisco. Star-Kist Tuna’s headquarters are in San Francisco, Pelosi’s home district. Star-Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi. Star-Kist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan workforce.
Paul Pelosi, Nancy’s husband, owns $17 million dollars of Del Monte stock. In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competition’s.
Last week, when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an “economic development credit in American Samoa”.

Hey everyone the Ruoruni PUMA MakowashiNatsuko is back from a french test and a meeting with her group for a powerpoint.
Well, while I was walking back to the student housing listening to my mp3 player I saw something that really disturbed me it wasn’t a shock really…I saw on the LACITYBEAT a few magazine a picture of the Dark Lord in a Super Man outfit with his symbol on his chest where the S should be for Super man and below it it says: Truth, Justice, and the New American Way.
I was looking at it and I was like: yes…tell the masses that he is some new superman. Lie to them a bit more…it makes me sick I don’t think I want lunch now.

Oh sweet! I have worked with Kathleen McGinty while she was Secretary of the Pensylvania Dept of Environmental Protection here in PA. She would be a great pick for EPA Administrator. She abandoned her post here early and we all suspected she was looking for a post in a BO adminstration. Big, big, big on alternative energy sources. The woman is apprently an alternative energy source herself – up at 4am, on the treadmill at 5am while conducting press interviews at the same time, and raising three small kids. A real whirlwind, very bright, very articulate – and she’s travelled abroad discussing energy issues with other countries. Needless to say I am happy to see her name on that list.

The other half didn’t vote for him because Biden was not a brother.
Condi Rice or Powell or Jesse Jr for VP – then we would have had a 102% voting for OBAMA/rice(Powell)(jessejr)!
the 2% excess is due to ACORN registration that included Tony Romo, TO, Martin Grammatica (ACORN did not know he is not in Cowboys anymore) and finally Mickey Mouse and D’Duck!

There will not be any change -there will be politics as usual-democracy has been lost when elected officials go after another official because their views did not support the elected president’s—Joe Lieberman—was spoken with by Harry Reid and his Homeland Security position is in jeopardy–so I guesss Joe hopped on the Obie bandwagon and pledged his support to the anointed one. Maybe this is why Hillary stood behind the anointed one becasue she knew of the danger of not kneeling at his feet. So now Joe has bowed down—what is in store for us—one can wonder!

She still makes plenty of money at her current Senate job which I’m sure includes lots of money from lobbyists and she got the job through Obama and ACORN.
Has everyone heard what is going on with the recount between Franken and Coleman in Minnesota? Apparently every recount keeps producing more ballots that weren’t found previously. Interesting that these new found ballots all favor Franken and none show votes for Coleman. Hannity was reporting on this on his radio show. He’s extremely concerned about the fraud behind this story. I am too.

I posted the info, you seemed happy to see it, I thought you were crediting me so I wanted to make sure wontbackdown got the hat tip for it, I acknowledged your excitement about one of the possible appointees and encouraged you to act on it. MakowashiNatsuko – Kind of from a Stephen KING novel!
Yeah, precisely that is what you get when you outsource parenthood to society.
I was at a conv store and saw a mom and a 10 year old fill the car. Next car had a white woman and a black man all ovr the other until he was enacting a scene out of Antonio BAND…/ Jolie clothed and in public.
This is what America is when all morality is out the door.
I almost wanted to tell them to go home and do it less the wet the parking.

But stay strong and call in some Samurai spirit. Plastic students will soon meet their peril. And You and I and PUMA will survive in the end
Seattlegirl 11.07.08 at 5:02 pm
Middle age female : Not only is their big argument that racism is the root of all American problems off the table but one supposes BO will appoint about 3 young and liberal (probably male) Supreme Court justices and balance the court for about 30 years. This takes their usual way of dealing with female voters, threaten them with loss of reproductive rights due to the courts, right off the table too. It will be interesting to see how they deal with these losses. I think one term of BO will be enough.
Anna7000 11.07.08 at 5:02 pm
Oh, NObama Dem, maybe you misinterpretted my last statement encouraging you to put it out there, “besides here”. I could see how that could be read/heard differently than how I meant it. I didn’t mean to sound sarcastic. I truly just meant to encourage you to take your info and enthusiasm and act on it. I should have said “in addition to here”. If that’s what upset you, I could see how my words could have been heard very differently than how I intended them. Sorry. Hate when that happens. Question for the day: Why is it that when Senators and House of Representative individuals leave the Senate and House, they are always much wealthier than when they enter?
Can anyone name anyone in the Senate and House who are not millionaires? Or whose holdings, house etc does not hit the million dollar mark minimally?
Why is that? These are the people who say they feel the pain of the middle class…These are the people who run this country…Why is it that so many Americans are so ignorant?

BO is in his honeymoon Phase. I will boycott Delmonte. I have never used them anyway. I shop the commissary at Hanscom AB. I buy Green Giant. Now we must rebuild America. I hope every PUMA signs on to The T. Boone Pickens Plan, or at least take the time to visit his website. He wants to keep our money here. Replace 22% of the oil with Natural Gas cars. Give a cheaper rate to convert cars. Replace our Natural Gas consumption for power with wind. Those businesses mean jobs.

MSNBC commentator, Joe Scarborough, recently made a simple and eloquent statement during a program that addressed, among other things, the media’s role in reporting, and specifically as such reporting pertains to our new President-elect. In referring to coverage of Senator Obama, he stated that it is the media’s job to “hold his feet to the fire”, as needed, in order to provide accurate reporting of news to the public. Sadly, such journalistic standards were not upheld this election year which left the public woefully uninformed. But, be that as it may, I would like to address a current issue of concern in the hopes that you will watch closely and join Mr. Scarborough in upholding journalistic standards of fair and unbiased reporting. I look forward to your coverage of gender equality as news of Senator Obama’s cabinet appointments unfold.
As I’m sure you know, women comprise 51% of the U.S. population. Regrettably, the Democratic Party could not see fit to nominate the first woman for President. Nor could Senator Obama see fit to select a woman as his running mate.
We are now at a juncture where Senator Obama is starting to appoint Cabinet members. The media recently released a short list of those who are being considered for these top posts. Sadly, only 20% of those on the list are women. As Senator Obama has based his campaign on promises of hope and change, I am watching closely to see if at least 50% of his cabinet will be filled with appointments who are female. A quick assessment of his short list does not bode well in this regard.
I look forward to your coverage of this important issue in American politics and hope that as you hold Obama’s feet to the fire, you will address gender disparity. If women comprise 51% of the population, is it not time we have equal representation to the highest posts of the land? And if not now, when?
Sincerely,
LotusBoy 11.07.08 at 5:20 pm
NewOrleansPuma – on the Reps. and Senators. being rich question –
Oh they work overtime and over the weekend to pass bailouts and rebate checks for us!
This tireless, selfless pursuit of all things good for us helps us achiever all our aspirations of getting poorer and less affluent monetarily and otherwise and they by sheer coincidence seem to be a little richer along the way (by a few million dollars)
All over the world this is true and in developed countries like the US, they scorn the wealth of poor country Presidents and Prime Ministers or Chancellors etc to show how balanced developed democracy is.
Tell me about balanced and fair democracy in the US – I will believe it completely (and I am already convinced on the caucus stuff)

Rahm Emmanuel needs as I have said previously to be carefully watched. He is one of the orchestrators of the Ojingo campaign and they go all the way back to Chicago. We need substantive research regarding him. I have begun some but expect it to be gone sometime soon…
He made 18,000,000 working for a brief period with a German globalization firm , a firm that is no 1 in the world in guess what? Alternative energy resources….among other things like buying and selling companies. Three of the compainies competitors among a list were Lehman Bros. (gone!)
Wachovia…ah huh and Merrill Lynch.
This guy was also the point man for making sure that an amendment to the bailout proposed by a Republican whose name I need to look up again which would ban Fannie and Freddie Mae from giving political contributions..of course , Sen Majority Leader Reid, would not allow even the mention of it.
These are among the world globalization world of reality Monopoly Game Players…and all that we have and are are on the board and going fast!

PumaBear from downstairs Right On. You’ve said some very wise things and this is a comprehensive post. I hope you’ll repost it every once in awhile.
Murphy, Anna and others…my gut feeling is not to attmept to influence Obama’s cabinet picks, at least not as Puma’s. I think at this point we invite more ridicule by doing so and with little positive influence. Let ‘em shoot themselves in the foot. They are going to no matter what we say…anyway.
As a general strategy, I vote for letting The One and his minions show their colors. I believe we are counter movement and we take a more powerful stance by not “reacting” to Obama, but by stepping back and stengthening our base and very carefully orchestrating our agendas.
Right now, we are just nattering flies to them. I don’t want to give them the satifaction of shooing us away right now.
We all have ideas about where Puma should focus right now. I think we would be best served by communicating what we think should be the priorities and then have the leadership set three or four different areas of focus.
This 600 million dollar machine was stealth and underground before anyone really saw them coming. We might consider modeling them to some extent.

This Columnist, Mr King; who writes the “White House Chronicles” was on XM POTUS 08 this afternoon and he said that he heard through the grape vine that Obama will be naming “JUDAS” Richardson Ambassador to China. He also said that the selection of Emmanuel is a bad one. He also said that Kerry is dying to get the Secretary of State position but that would be the worst choice Obama could make. He said that if Obama continues hiring former Pres Clinton cabinet members he would be breaking his promise of “Change”. He also warned that this would be a bad decision on Obama’s part.

I get a daily communication from Karl Rove because I wanted to know just what he was up to. Today he mentions his article in the WSJ in which he gives the reasons why the President-Elect won!
This is my comment on his article. It is certainly not as thoughtful or articulate as some of you could have done, but it expresses my thoughts of the moment.
“Please, Mr. Rove, As true as your statements are, your premise is not exactly truthful.
You failed to mention the massive fraud that took place during the primaries especially the caucuses.
You also simply ignore that the DNC blatantly gave the nomination to Obama, forcing Senator Clinton out of the race. The convention was a complete sham. You, of course, know all this. I haven’t figured out yet just why you and the Republican leadership didn’t really want McCain/Palin to win. But, be that as it may, you are being dishonest in ignoring the whole of the reasons that Obama now is the President=Elect. He certainly did not win it fair ans square. You would know something about his campaign’s methods.

Can you believe it? One of the comments on that video says its racist! Geeze, guessing we are going to be called racists for the next 4-8 years.
——-
Absolutely! The race card ain’t going away… despite what anyone says. This is a Bill Ayers ploy from way back. His whole rebellion revolves around the idea of fueling the race card. I think he purposely picked a black man to be the puppet for his plan so he could continually throw that card out there. I read an article in which he used the race card to manipulate a woman into willing submit to being raped by a black man to prove she wasn’t a racist. She talked about how there was no term for “date rape” pressure back then and she carried the guilt of the experience for the rest of her life. I have the link to the article at home. After reading the article it instantly made me connect the dots that this race card thing has been Ayers little experiment in behavior manipulation for many years now.

Can’t speak to the press conference cause I don’t watch tv. BUT, here’s an entertaining story:
This morning, an acquaintance and a huge Obama supporter, actually said to me that she’s concerned that her taxes will be raised. (BTW, she’s fairly wealthy) She spoke about the $250,000 cut off and expressed concerns about her taxes. So, first I corrrected her about the cut off and informed her that it was down to about half of the original number. She had no idea. Then, since I didn’t want to be snide, I simply said, “Well, you’re a very well informed person and you cast your vote accordingly. I don’t know what to tell you. But this issue seemed to be one that was pretty apparent during the campaign.” Then she went into a whole diatribe about how she couldn’t bring herself to vote for McCain because of how the Republicans caused this whole financial mess. I proceeded to inform her of how McCain, and even Bush, tried to raise a red flag about Fannie and Freddie many years ago and the Dems dismissed their concerns. She said she had no idea. (Thanks msm!). Then she said, “But, I also couldn’t vote for McCain because he loves war.” I said, “What did he ever say that made you feel he loves war?” “Well, look at his background.” “What about it?” “He served in Vietnam and –” (At this point I’d had it.) I said, “You know what? Best we don’t continue this discussion or it could get very ugly.” (confused expression on her face as I walked away…)

Basic responses may change as this same group has to pay more attention to “bread”, i.e. attaining it…than the operation of their progenitive and/or the relief of their boredom inoculations of sex. Who knows?
Maybe a new form of entertainment ..reality tv…will gives some “insight” in the future as to which basic human urges will prevail? Bread or Sex…what will you choose and why?

When they are upon them, the go for the kill in the most expediant method possible…usually the throat. Of course I’m speaking symbolically here.
I just think we have been scrambling and exposing ourselves too much before the election. Now that it’s over, I vote for being more calculating. Identifying a target issue (or person) and pounce at the right time. If we “affect” like James Carville says, then we will be a serious force as much as we are a home for the disgruntled.

ps…the Obots controlled the blogsphere. You have to grant them the brilliance of how they controlled the Internet. It took a long time before anyone knew what was happening. Did you notice how they used code words? For example “silly”. When Palin was announced, Obama said in an interview that she was the Mayor of Wassilly (silly). That was no accident. Then for days afterward, I the word (silly) was used over and over in post regarding Palin. They didn’t say Palin was silly, they simply conveyed a message to the collective subconscious that Palin was “silly”. I was shocked by how extensive and organized the network of bloggers were. It was an incredibly effective machine. We have to develope that component if we are going to have any say from here on out.

Yeah — sometimes the link works to the archived show and sometimes it just brings up the most current show being aired. Don’t know how to find a reliable archive link. The show I was hoping it would link to was a conversation between Andy Martin and Lan Lamphere. Andy Martin was saying that we (as a people – as Americans) can give credibility to the whole idea of making Obama accountable for presenting his Birth Certificate through the Electoral College.
He went on to say that we shouldn’t waste our time with the Electoral Representatives that are Democrats since they will be in the tank for Obama and we will get no where with them. But we need to light a fire under the Republican Electoral and make them stand up to the Dem side and do their part that the original INTENT OF THE CONSTITUTION and the founding fathers had in mind when putting the Electoral College into place. He said the original INTENT argument would be an extremely valid one from a legal standpoint with the Supreme Court Judges too. Especially Scalia. You can read about some of the ideas discussed here:

Emanuel on Freddie Mac Board During Scandal
Friday, November 7, 2008 10:31 AM
By: Jim Meyers Article Font Size
President-elect Barack Obama’s newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on Freddie Mac’s board of directors when scandal was brewing at the federal mortgage firm.
Emanuel was named to the board by President Clinton in 2000 and resigned when he ran for Congress in May 2001.
According to a complaint filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac misreported profits by billions of dollars in an effort to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002, ABC News reports.
The SEC charges that in 2000, 2001, and 2002, Freddie Mac misrepresented its income to “present investors with the image of a company that would continue to generate predictable and growing earnings.”
The role of Freddie Mac’s 18-member board of directors was sharply criticized by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight in 2003. A report from the agency stated that the board had been informed of the suspect accounting tactics but “failed to make reasonable inquiries of management,” and “failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention.”
Emanuel was not named in the SEC complaint.
An Emanuel representative told ABC News that Emanuel’s 13 months of service on the board was “a relatively short period of time,” and added that while on the board Emanuel “believed that Freddie Mac needed to address concerns raised by Congressional critics.”

Anna,
I’ve been reading your suggestions about regrouping. I haven’t been ready to focus on regrouping myself but as usual they are well thought out. I imagine other are feelig the same. I also agree certain structuring will have to come from the leadership. I think it will. We are dealing with grief right now. A certain amount of venting is healthy, but before the momentum fades, we need to have specific goals and agendas that are doable.
This is all my opinion of course, but I also think some of the work needs to be “underground”. For example developing our own network of bloggers targeting specific sites with specific talking points. That’s what they did and it kneecapped Hillary before she knew what hit her. These are the kinds of major decisions the leadership of a coalition would make.
I haven’t checked out the New Agenda yet…btw.

Since BO will be making so many tax changes all of the tax accountants have job security and will be busy during tax season. The tax law is going to get even fatter.
EWard 11.07.08 at 6:15 pm
Excerpt from an article – American Spectator
Transparent Obama Administration is a Myth
UNPRECEDENTED AND SECRETIVE
Lost amid all of the jubilation of the Obama victory was the announcement by the Obama transition team that it had set up a separate transition program beyond the one that is paid for by the American taxpayer. Called the “Obama/Biden Transition Project,” it is a 501(c)4 tax-exempt organization, with no limits on the contributions it can receive and no requirements to divulge the names of individuals or organizations that give it money.
Traditionally, the victorious campaign has set up inaugural funds, as well as funds to deal with legal costs and other expenses to close down the campaign. Others have set up quasi-corporate offices to deal with transition issues, such as in 2000, when, with the election in doubt, the Bush-Cheney team set up a private transition office in McLean, Virginia, covering the costs from campaign contributions and other fundraising. Ultimately, the federal government, headed by the Government Services Administration, covers the cost of the transition staff, providing it with office space and all equipment.
No one is certain that any political organization has ever set up a tax-exempt entity that would be shrouded in such secrecy, particularly when Obama claimed he would be more transparent about the way things were done.
“To my knowledge, it’s never been done, and people should be asking why the Obama people chose to do it this way,” says a longtime Washington Republican, who has been involved in transitions for the Reagan and Bush campaign teams.
According to an Obama campaign staffer who is being retained for the transition and inauguration planning, the “project” is intended not only to identify personnel for the Obama Administration, but to then send those project employees who know all of the senior staff in the various Cabinet departments and federal agencies out into the corporate and lobbying community to leverage those contacts.
“It’s taking the old ‘K Street Project’ that Republicans had and doing it twice as fast and on steroids,” explains the aide. “So, if you have a Project aide working on Commerce Department transition, that Project aide will be more likely to get a senior lobbying job because of all those connections at Commerce. That former Project aide will also be able raise more money for Democrats in this town and help others with jobs and such.”
As well, the nonprofit may also serve as a haven for Obama supporters and campaign loyalists who for one reason or another can’t be employed by the Administration or in the federal government. “There are some people who have been with us from the beginning who are clearly political liabilities or who won’t be able to qualify for a job, say, because they can’t get a security clearance,” says another aide, who was unaware of the unique Obama transition project’s tax status.
Regardless of the purpose, Obama campaign officials say there is no intention of shutting down the 501(c) 4 Project after the transition is over.

matt2008A 11.07.08 at 6:23 pm
I just wanted to say this.
To all those who say Hillary will never be president
I bet people said the same when McCain lost to Bush in 2000.
People said “He’ll be to old to run and the party will have moved to far to the right” or “there will be a new person who runs after Bush, McCain will be an old face” and tossed McCain to the side, thinking he would continue his work in the senate and never run again.
Guess what……they were wrong. History has a way of repeating itself. They are saying the same things that Hillary will continue her senate work and will never run again because she will be too old.
Remember Hillary said her chances were close to zero, not zero and she said she would never run in 2008. If Hillary still wants the presidency, which I think she does, she will run again. Remember only Hillary knows what Hillary wants.
She will only be 68 in 2016, three years younger than McCain and is in much better condition than McCain is health wise. and remember women live longer than men.
Plus after cheating Hillary out the first time, I doubt someone really strong will run against her in the primary.
Of course….some letters to Hillary for encouragement could really help and letters asking her to run again.
Imagine if lots of PUMAS and their family members wrote letters to her at one time, she might get some ideas………
You may call this wishful thinking and it could very well be, but it does not hurt to try.
BTW, we need to get Harry Reid out in 2010. He is up for re-election in Nevada.

Now BTW, that is what Pumas should start putting all of their energy into, such as getting ride of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi, Reed et al. who are coming up for reelection. Witnessing Reed and Pelosi would make the Puma hearts happy and purring for awhile…

I think she has enough support. I know we are upset at her supporting Obama. But imagine if she did not? The media would destroy everything she had left. She would never get a presidential nomination again as Pelosi and all of them would be outraged.
She started off just endorsing him, but she left her mark, she could of not campaigned as much, but the media kept questioning why she was not.
She has her highest approval rating ever recorded for her right now in New York it is in the upper 60s.
I think Hillary has more support than ever. She has won AAs back, her speeches have inspired.
Yes some are angry, but Hillary showed she is not selfish and while we wish she had thrown her support behind McCain, she could have been much more forceful than she was.
Remember she refused to attack Palin…now thats class.

ProudAmericana2008 11.07.08 at 6:42 pm
As a woman of color here, I have to say, I read some of the posts about AAs and I am truly disheartened. The posts I read that seem to indicate open hostility (there were too many to cite, unfortunately) for the black community really make me question whether the stated mission of PUMAs — as expressed in yesterday’s post — is really, truly acceptance for all. If your anger over the election is translated as anger toward all AAs, then there is no way this can be a genuinely egalitarian movement for across-the-board tolerance. Really — there are some of you here that, with your comments, seem to be openly dismissing AAs and, even worse, expressing vitriol I would think wouldn’t serve a group dedicated to equality for all. I’m not saying this to argue; I’m saying that as a woman of color, it seems like a refutation of who I am, and cannot help but alienate potential allies.

We need to find a strong, well-known Republican moderate to challenge Reid………of course finding one is a challenge in itself.
Some are thinking Arnold will run against Barbara Boxer for senate in California in 2010. If he does that will be an extremely close race.
You are right though, we should put our efforts into the 2010 midterm elections. Our main targets should be Harry Reid, several dem congressmen. Than 2012, a republican president and someone to defeat McCaskill in Missouri……im thinking Jo Anne Emerson….and of course re-election for Hillary

Hi PUMAS, how the heck ya doin?
Sorry if this is old news and haven’t read thru whole thread, so whatever.
Kathleen Sibleus, gov of Kansas is a Bilderberger as of 2007.
Valerie Jarrett is an Iranian American who’s been with Obummer since his state senate run, pretty sure. Favorite strategy: play race card.
And as far as alternative energy is concerned, be it nuclear, solar or wind, etc…don’t get your hopes up. The cabal of greedy snot-nosed elites will never let America move to nuclear energy(like the French have) or solar. Wind energy still requires more electricity to produce than it produces by itself–because wind is not reliable. It’s also very costly to convert to solar( just ask the friendly mechanical engineer who lives in your town or city and s/he will affirm it).
I say this not because I love oil but because I know(as do many of you)how the Vested Interest operates in our nation.
Al Gore’s family owns all or most of Occidental Oil corp, BTW. Big environmentalist? No, big swindler and even bigger hypocrite.
Rest assured, it will be the fat-cats like Al Gore and T. Boone Pickens and others who gain taxpayer dollars/subsidies under the guise of alternative energy development. Count on it.

Sorry for not being an active blogger here, so I am not familiar with some comments on AA,but just wanted to tell you that I do not believe any PUMA member is a racist, or we would not be here, still, we are too hurt due to what we have seen and the future that is ahead of us. On behalf of those that may sound or act like racists, please asscept an apology. I think it is time that we ourselves stopped calling each other by the color of their skin, I belong to a religion that has deep African roots, so I can be more black that any so called “African-American” or simply “black” I guess I was born white because it is in my genes, but still, I sincerely hope that one day we won’t refer to the person next to us by the color of their skin. Unfortunately, many people have used race to their advantage, but it depends on those people who feel discriminated against not ot let those others use race to make them feel inferior. I guess that by doing this we won’t allow people to exploit our feelings.

I truly hope I have in no way offended you – and if I have been complacent in not noticing or speaking up – please forgive me for that.
In that regard – I will say what I do remember that I found personally offensive about “Michelle Obama’s anger”.
I tried to post a response about that and I lost the post. The only thing I can say about that post is that our history of treatment of AA’s – and other marginalized groups – I understand more today than I ever thought possible. It came as a result of looking at the truth of my own innermost thoughts and feelings – all born from a social conditioning that we have largely denied, ignored or have been unaware.
For that, I can say, if Michelle Obama is, in fact, “angry” because of what I understand today, I am the last to condemn her for that “anger”.
I have read what you have written. I am sorry for the undercurrents that you, more than many of us, are acutely aware are often expressed and many of us unwittingly accept.

Is this what you are looking for?
These are current positions, which may change by November elections.
Proposed changes by John McCain and Barack Obama to taxes after 2008 General election:
CAPITAL GAINS TAX
MC CAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000
per home (couples) McCain does not
propose any change in existing
Capital Gains tax.
OBAMA
28% on capital gains tax
DIVIDEND TAX
MCCAIN 15% (no change)
OBAMA 39.6%
How this impacts the consumer:
If you have any money invested in stock
market, IRA, mutual funds,
college funds, life insurance, retirement
accounts, or anything that pays
or re-invests dividends, you will now
pay nearly 40% of the money
earned on taxes if Obama is elected.
Experts predict that higher
tax rates on dividends and capital gains
may crash the stock market yet
will do nothing to cut the deficit.
INCOME TAX
MC CAIN (no changes)
Single making 30K – tax $4,500
Single making 50K – tax $12,500
Single making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000

Single making 75K – tax $23,250
Married making 60K – tax $16,800
Married making 75K – tax $21,000
Married making 125K – tax $38,750
INHERITANCE TAX
MC CAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)
OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax
NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

consumption (heating
gas, water, electricity)

It’s simple Obama election math,
The number of absentee ballots in non swing states is equal to the number of newly registered college students living away from home in swing states
…Yes they can
This is my fiance’s screen name by the way…he’s very upset about this fraudulent election…
I’m enjoying all of your comments and as a former Clinton cat I am soooo sad about the situation, Hillary was truly a glimmer of real hope in the modern political arena. Now were forced to listen to the likes of Brazilsaurus who obviously is neither democratic nor believes in the democratic election process. What a foghorn she is.
Enough with the weeping AA swearing that anyone can rise from the ranks of poverty to achieve in this country…This rarely occurs at the presidential level-and it certainly didn’t this time.

snowtiger007: I have said for quite a while that the , what I have called, the 1% big bad money people, hedge fund people, globalization high level players who supported Bush, that many of them would support Obama for his willingness to play their money games. These people did not want or support McCain because the man did want for years to limit campaign finance and was hot on earmarks..among other issues. Their candidate was Mitt Romney. And they lose nothing with Obama.\
They gain more of what they gained under Bush, the freedom, now by a contrived necessity to play the finacial essence of this country for every penny. Remember George’s comments at the fundraiser some years back when he appeared before some of the richest in the world..Well here I am with my base, the haves and the have mores…That really characterizes George Bush. He has and had as much use for the Republican Traditional people..middle class as Brazile has for us.
He used them when he had to and then gave them and us the shaft..the middle class. What Bush began and let loose, Ojingo will complete for these people…under the guise now of caring for the “little” people of this country. ..as they continue to drain every dime from the middle class. True and classic sleaze..Bush and Obama, flip sides of the same coin. ..and that coin belongs to them and these 1%ers.

latest update from the Indiana election website has McCain up by 100K over Obozo…but there are still 3 counties that have not reported anything to the state…1 being Marion County…but they have the counts on their county website….so when including Marion (Indy area) it puts McCain down by 7000 votes and 2 counties completely unreported (Monroe and Posey) Monroe could still be the problem one but right now it is still a day to day cliff hanger as they report to the state……they don’t have to report until Nov. 14th and 17th for any recount.

MCCAIN PLAN FOR THE ECONOMY
warrior4hillary on 10.16.08 at 11:11 am
October 15, 2008
John McCain’s Pension and Family Security Plan
This week, John McCain Outlined His Pension And Family Security Plan To Address The Ongoing Economic Crisis. The Pension and Family Security Plan will help those who are currently hurting the most including workers, homeowners and seniors.
The Pension And Family Security Plan Builds On The American Homeownership Resurgence Plan John McCain Outlined Last Week. The American Homeownership Resurgence Plan uses $300 billion of the $700 billion package recently passed by Congress to keep Americans in their homes, stop declining housing values and stabilize financial markets. Learn more about the Plan here: http://www.johnmccain.com
As He Works To Address The Financial Crisis, John McCain Will Implement His “Jobs For America” Economic Plan To Strengthen And Expand Our Economy. Learn more about the Plan here: http://www.johnmccain.com/Issues/jobsforamerica/
Elements Of The Pension And Family Security Plan:
SENIORS: Lower Taxes On Seniors Tapping Their Retirement Accounts. (10% tax rate in 2009-2010 for up to $50,000 withdrawal)
SENIORS: Suspend Tax Rules That Force Seniors To Sell Their Stocks In The Midst Of This Financial Crisis. (Waive mandatory withdrawals for 70 1/2 year olds)
SAVERS: Accelerate The Tax Write-Off For Those Who Must Sell At A Loss In The Current Market. (Increase amount of capital losses in 2009-2010)
SAVERS: Reduce Capital Gains Taxes For 2009 And 2010 To Raise The Incentive To Save And Invest. (Reduce maximum rate on long term capital gains to 7.5% in 2009-2010)
HOMEOWNERS: Purchase Mortgages Directly From Homeowners And Mortgage Servicers, And Replace Them With Manageable, Fixed-Rate Mortgages.
WORKERS: Eliminate Taxes On Unemployment Benefits in 2009 and 2010.
Click here for the complete archive of Weekly Talking Points.
This Week’s Note From Jo Ann:
The top issue on the minds of many voters is what the financial crisis means to their retirement accounts, their mortgages and savings in the future. Yesterday John McCain announced initiatives to help offset these concerns. McCain is also recommending that taxes on unemployment benefits be suspended for the next two years.
Without question the economy is the top issue. We must share what John McCain is doing to address these legitimate concerns. Increasing taxes is not the answer. Not exploring every way to make us less dependent on foreign oil is not the answer. Giving government more control of our health care decisions is not the answer. Denying small businesses the ability to export their products is not the answer.
Electing John McCain and Sarah Palin is the right answer to deal with the economy.
Thanks for your help!

Emanuel is said to have “mailed a rotting fish to a former coworker after the two parted ways.”[7] On the night after the 1996 election, “Emanuel was so angry at the president’s enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign, grabbed a steak knife and began rattling off a list of betrayers, shouting ‘Dead! … Dead! … Dead!’ and plunging the knife into the table after every name.”[6] His “take-no-prisoners attitude” earned him the nickname “Rahm-bo”.[7]

I went on the Flopping Aces website (it has a lot of info) and got this quote from Joe Trippi:
Joe Trippi, the Internet politics guru whose computer geeks made Howard Dean a contender in 2004 and who went on to design Obama’s socially networked campaign machine, offers a provocative and educated guess.
Trippi predicted that Obama would use his forces, first and foremost, to intimidate congressional foes of his agenda, rally his allies and forge “one of the most powerful presidencies in American history.”
Now that’s scary!

Dear PUMA and Friends
I want to reiterate here that I am still peaceful. I went this way some time in the last week before election day, election day I was normal-down-reallydown-normal-down-normal-down-reallydown-normal yadayada and then around 9 pm, with a total news blackout except here, then blacking out Pumapac due to the emotions surging in everyone on election night, I went to bed. I woke at 5 the next morning, went back to sleep another half hour, then woke up, and read the blog and saw it did not go our way, and my brother was in his doorway and said to me “The United STUPID of America”. But thats been the extent of the expression of any emotions for us. Many of my colleagues were exasperated, the AA colleagues were quiet. He is still enlisting to serve his country as do all the men in my family. I am still PUMA. And I am at peace. If any of you can personally reach a place where you are at peace, and live in your moments, this is the warriors stance. There is fear. But there is peace. There is anger. But there is peace. There is a difficult road ahead. But there is peace.
Here is my philosophy that is developing. I am very glad that AA have a president, and I am at peace that it is Obama. I will be the loyal opposition, but I do not want to be like the people who went after Bush. I have alot of issues with Bush, but read in the wsj.com today and article about the maltreatment of the 43rd POTUS, and what must our country think of us for this. Yes, Barack Obama is a liar, and Alinskyite, and quite probably, and I have called him this, a totalitarian and communist. But I am at peace. There is something that America has. We have a constitution and a Bill of Rights. And we have an american people who can and will turn on a President who strays into uncharted territory as Bush has. Yes Bush has kept us safe, but he has made grave mistakes as well. The gravest of mistakes… and he has to live with that, but now I know that perhaps his wish was to keep Americans safe.
We know Obama is Bush III, but I do not want to end up being a caricature, like a Michael Moore. I felt that commie smearmatician Moore did more harm than good on any given day.
So lets be the loyal opposition and resistance. I agree with the posters here who admire the Nader model. This should be our main work, our approach. As consumers of the political realities out there, as voters, we have the moral high ground. Lets keep it. Let our AA friends and colleagues have their POTUS of color, and I see a positive in that out of all the shameful doings of the Obama campaign, that AA will see theirselves, their familes, their childrens as capable of achieving anything.
Let us not deteriorate into greasy fat smearmaticians like Michael Moore. Lets take the high road, as McCain did. And lets take the warrior stance of peace. And lets become the Political Consumer Product Safety and Preservation Commission.

I don’t know about some parts of the country, but where I live, a lot of the AAs are getting in your face about Obama winning. I am not saying this to be racist. One lady attacked my husband in a parking garage yesterday. She had noticed that he previously had a McCain sticker on his car. She made a comment about why the sticker was gone and that he couldn’t support a “loser” anymore. My husband, who is retired military, was deeply shaken by this. He told her that he couldn’t believe she just called a man who served 5 l/2 years as a POW a loser. She accused my husband of not voting for Obama because of the color of his skin. My husband then went on to state his reasons for not voting for him. This is so sad that it has come to this. Obama has played the race card and, frankly, I am not sure how this is going to play out from here on end.

Something that upset me today when listening to Rush Limbaugh. He was reading off some of Obama’s plans for this country from his new Web site. Rush mentioned that Obama wants to give $2 billion (I think that was the total) to Arab countries for them to use in their schools to teach them not to hate America. This is supposedly to keep them from becoming terrorists. Did anyone read or hear this? I find this to be disturbing, and I am quite concerned about the real agenda of this move.
HiHat 11.07.08 at 7:44 pm
Inside 6 months, I predict the American public’s reaction to electing Obama will be similar to the experience many of us have had when, after a long night at the bar, we wake up next to a complete stranger, and think “Oh, no”. Then we say our very awkward goodbyes…and run the the shower!

I think I could turn and live with animals,
they’re so placid and self-contained,
I stand and look at them long and long.
They do not sweat and whine about their condition,
They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins,
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied,
not one is demented with the mania of owning things,
Not one kneels to another,
nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth.

DeadGirl:
I understand your position, and I am at peace. I am mainly concerned that Obama will be an anti-American (hard-core marxist) president who will have a very private and secretive presidency because of Obama-Media, which he WILL.
I’d like to pay attention to Obama news and world events, (watch our allies and enemies), and also bills being passed and votes that go down.
You say:
“There is something that America has. We have a constitution and a Bill of Rights. And we have an american people who can and will turn on a President who strays into uncharted territory as Bush has.”
Those things can easily change with votes and amendments and if Obama and our elected officials are really bad guys…there is nothing the people can do. Why would they care about pieces of paper. If the government is corrupt and the media is corrupt…there is NOTHING the people can do to stop anything except for civil war.
You know that there is no one above the president to go to. And you say American people could turn on him if he strays from uncharted territory like Bush…well, Bush had MILLIONS of haters and they got NOTHING done to stop him or manipulate him. All those protestors…all their complaining got them nowhere. Nowhere. NOWHERE.
All I am saying is that Pumas and Americans have to see that they are the ones who have to inform one another and watchdog the senate and congress, and prepare for any changes to come. Because if people don’t pay attention to what is happening…anything can happen.

I am a white Jewish woman. I work in a profession that until recently was completely populated by men. I was born in Upper East Tennessee, and raised in Harlan Co. KY. I now live in Indiana, in the county that has the record highest corn production per acre in the world. Though I have blazing red hair, I am 1/16 Cherokee. The red hair is courtesy of my Irish ancestry.
Why do I tell you this? I belong to so many ‘persecuted groups’ that if I wanted to nitpick, I could take anything and everything as an insult! A co-worker once called me a liberal democrat redheaded hillbilly Jewish woman with a big mouth. Then he acted like I should feel complimented. In a way I did! At least he noticed that I was an outspoken redheaded woman with many facets. That he did not mean any of it as an insult is the key here.
When I see or hear any minority taking offense to intense conversation, casual remarks, or political commentary, and searching the words of their fellow Americans for the ‘tell tale’ code words that everyone holds up as racist, I get concerned. My experinece has been that most of my acquaintences do not think in terms of race. Instead, we think in terms of people. I don’t know a single person amopng my family and friends, neighbors, or coworkers that would ever harm you or think less of you because of your race.
I do know a large number of people in my circle of friends who have been called racist because they spoke one or more of those illusive and hidden ‘racist code words’ that the black liberation theologists are always harping on. I do not believe this nation is even 1/10 as racist as the world and black America thinks it is. I am on a sort of crusade to stop categorizing us and simply call all of us Americans. That is what we are, no more or no less.
The less each of us get offended when no offense was intended, the sooner we can live in harmony.

Here is a letter-to-the-editor in the October 1 issue:
“I have given this election and its ramifications a great deal of thought and research. If you are still of independent thought, please read this. Mr. Obama is eloquent, charming and convincing. He is also disingenuous, arrogant and seemingly naive. He espouses unification, and yet hits pits income Class against income Class, age Class against age Class, omitting that tax increases on corporations and higher income earners will by trickle down be placed on the shoulders of the Middle Class and poor of all age levels, young and elderly. He espouses racial unity, but allows his minions to play the race card…”

Thanks for advice. I will go to Human Resources about this. I have worked there 13 years total. I quit another job(17 years) for them to get a great shift. They took it away and I went somewhere else(still stayed pool). They offered me the 4 10 hour shifts so I came back 5 years ago. Now we have a new AA manager(military from the Bahamas that goes back to Miami every weekend and can’t work 4 days himself. He is on salary of course) that thinks it is ok to change anything around. HaHa, 3 people retired and gone within 3 months too. Just am mad that I am 55 and thinking of applying for a new job. Thank God there are many jobs in healthcare right now so I can say F-you.

I have an idea. Let’s play a little game. I’ll call it a Test.
Test:
Obama starts his civilian national security force–like he promised–the one that is “just as powerful, just as strong, and just as well funded as our military.”
OK. You start seeing recruiting stations, and hear stories about how people can enlist via his change. gov website.
Next you hear that they are training on their own training facilities, or maybe they train at police schools, army facilities, security schools, and maybe a few classes at some military school. All around training. But it’s NOT our government military.
So, you know all this is happening. Then what? You start to hear that these same civilian national security people are watching our borders and our ports, and traveling with the military overseas to fight in battles, and then you also start to see them around your neighborhood…
How would you feel seeing Obama’s non-military military in your neighborhood. Comfortable? Would you feel like they were just like the police? The National Guard? What would you be thinking.
Let’s say they start taking liberties with your rights. Start questioning you, watching you and watching everyone. You feel less free.
How do you stop it? It’s not like the police where you can get their badge numbers, file a complaint, get the media, sue the city or fight their union.
How do you stop something that is as powerful as the government military–they have more power than cops, maybe you have less rights with them.
How do you stop it?
TEST.

Kat in your hat, i also agree with you, but at this moment in time, this very second we must build ourselves up. We need hard cold facts. We need to remain united on the issues that made us PUMA’s in the first place. We need to stop focusing on the individual and start focusing on the issues. Being a watch dog is a great thing, but when you focus only on one person versus on what is wrong with the position, you lose focus. We need to be sharp as a laser beam when fighting against specific policies and leave personal attacks at the door. We will look like nothing but sore losers if we try to attack Barack Obama today. Let’s attack his policies. I think that is the difference. And for the record I can’t stand Obama for what he did and what he represents. I will never forget. We now have an opportunity to move beyond him and in doing so we can effect a change.
I am ready to fight many policies I believe he is going to try and pass. I especially loathe the mandatory volunteer community service for school children. My child is my child, not his.
I am ready to fight misogyny and sexism in the media and society.
I am ready to fight against media bias and demand that the media presents fact, not propaganda.
I am ready to fight for fair elections.
Surely Obama is a physical representation of what is wrong. I do not trust him, but we will not make a difference by solely attacking him.
These are institutional problems we face and must combat them with resources and a stick togetherness and credibility with facts, not feelings, like no one has ever seen before.

How to start a political party in California. I found this at google.
___________________________________________________________________________
Step I: Deciding on a name and appointing temporary officials
————————————————————-
Your first step in founding a new party is to decide on a name and
appoint temporary officials, in a congregation of all founders. This
is the first party “convention”, and dspite the pompous name, it could
be a meeting held anywhere, as soon as it is a meeting of the founders
of the party. The name, of course, cannot be used by any other
qualified political party. You can’t devide that your party would be
named “The Republican Party”, as I have heard that this name is
already taken.
What is a “Qualified” Party?
—————————-
Basically, it is a party that could run in the primary level. However,
the definitions change, and basically, it means a party, whose
candidates already shown some success, and that has a certain
percentage of voters. In California, that means, any party that has
registered with the Secretary of State.
In California, the qualified parties are currently:
- American Independent
- Democratic
- Green
- Libertarian
- Natural Law
- Peace and Freedom
- Republican
Step II: Registering this name with the Secretary of State
==========================================================
Your next step is to register your new party. Your letter should include:
- Names and addresses of temporary party officials
- Name of the party.
- Constitution or Bylaws. Your party’s ideology shouldn’t be contra to
the laws of the state (or the country), which basically means it
doesn’t promote illegal practices or the overthrow of the regime.
Please note, that if your party is after changing laws in the
country/state (for example, many small new parties are supporting
legalisation of illegal drugs), it doesn’t mean you’re “supporting
illegal practices”. In fact, you’re trying to change the laws in a
democratic process, and in theory not support any violation of the
law.
The California Law on Registering a New Party
=============================================
The law, in this case, says:
“5001. Whenever a group of electors desires to qualify a new political
party meeting the requirements of Section 5100, that group shall form
a political body by:
(a) Holding a caucus or convention at which temporary officers shall
be elected and a party name designated, which name shall not conflict
with that of any existing party or political body that has previously
filed notice pursuant to subdivision (b).
(b) Filing formal notice with the Secretary of State that the
political body has organized, elected temporary officers, and declared
an intent to qualify a political party pursuant to Section 5100. The
notice shall include the names and addresses of the temporary officers
of the political body.”
(SOURCE: California Election Code, Division 5, Ch. 1. Available Online
at California Secretary of State,
).
Sounds easy so far, huh?
Am I a Qualified Party Now? Could I Participate in the Elections Now?
=====================================================================
Unfortunately, no.
In order to participate in the elections, you have to have a certain
number of supporters, which you hand in as a “proof” to the Secretary
of State. All of this must be done by the 135th day before the next
following primary election [in our case - March 2, 2004].
Number of Supporters
——————–
As you’ve seen before, a proof of the number of supporters is
essential. There are two ways, in which the party could qualify and
later participate in the elections:
By registration – of a certain number (1% of the registered voters) of
people who claim to be affiliated with the new party.
By petition – of a certain number (10% of the registered voters) of
people who are supporting this new party.
Today, these figures are pretty high:
“To qualify a new political party by registration requires that 77,389
persons (one percent) complete an affidavit of registration, on which
they have written in the proposed party name as the party they
affiliate with. These affidavits of registration must be completed and
mailed in by the 154th day before the primary election.
To qualify a new political party by petition requires that 773,883
persons (ten percent) sign a petition seeking the inclusion of the
proposed party in the party nominating process at the March 2, 2004
primary election. These petitions must be filed with the several
counties by the proponent in such time that the counties verify the
signatures and certify the counts to the Secretary of State who
certifies the proposed party’s qualification not later than the 135th
day before the primary election.”
(ibid).
You could start collecting the signatures before you make the initial
registeration described in step II, if you file such a request at the
Secretary of State, not more than 70 days after the initial
registration, on your intent to qualify.
Here is a list of parties who are currently not qualified, despite
completing steps I and II – Non-Qualified Political Parties
.
Step III: After the Party Qualifies
===================================
After you’ve passed this hurdle, you must elect permanent officials,
and notify the Secretary of State. This must be done before February
1st of the Presidential Primary Year.
Naturally, candidates who do not belong to a qualified party, could
run either as non-partisan candidates or as minor party candidates
with about the same consequences.
Here are the requirements for candidates:

Glad to see that there is more than one young person who is trying hard to make a difference. What is your major?
MakowashiNatusko (Beth) is a history major with a music minor. She has been a history buff since childhood. I home schooled her, so I think maybe I imprinted much of my own personality onto her.
You young people are seeing the foundation of the world you will have to cope with being built. As the Statler brothers said ‘Life gets complicated when you get past 18.’ Just remember, you will be the middle aged people when the fruits of this election come full circle. Awesome to think about?

Quick scroll through the blog…
159 snowtiger – hysterical!
As for Proud American – As far as I’m concerned, I don’t think it matters if that person was a “Bot” or not. The point is well taken. I have been concerned for the past week or so about what appear to be an increasing number of comments about “AA’s” that are very disturbing. Seems a double standard and some hypocrisy is finding a home here and it makes me sad and uncomfortable.
Related to that is a revised version of something I posted the other day:
THINGS ARE NOT SO SIMPLE, CONTINUED….
We’ve railed against the media obsessing about Palin’s clothes, but talked about the attire of Obama’s children.
We’ve hated how Prop 8 went down, yet sent thank you notes to Palin, who would likely be no champion of the rights of the GLBT community.
We’ve talked about how angry MO always looks, while filled with so much anger ourselves.
We’ve been shocked to learn of a Sarah Palin hanging effigy, but never noticed such effigies of George Bush over the years, which were burned across America.
A blog post paints black men in the south with a broad stroke regarding how they treat their women, yet we all took offense when Senator Murtha painted his constituents as racists with equally as broad a brush.
We’ve posted passionate posts after equal rights, while some of our most prominent PUMAs have talked of AA’s and their trickery at the polls, while others decided to vote against any AA on the ballot, noting: “Fuck ‘em.”
We talk of fairness and equality while accepting some degree of male bashing on the blog.
Things are not so simple and I hope that in these days ahead we will not become a site filled with self righteous anger. I don’t want to create a hierarchy of victimhood. Many people suffer in this country and around the world for countless reasons. I hope we can focus our mission and move forward with action without feeling the need to unfairly bash others along the way.

My thoughts …
1. not one Fox News reporter was called on.
2. he made a snarky comment about Mrs. Reagan.
3. he spent the most time on the dog question.
4. he wasn’t even asked about the Russian missile situation.
5. how in the hell are we going to pay for another stimulus package and all of the other crap that he is proposing.
6. he side stepped the question about would tax increases start in 2009.

snowtiger007: Forming and sustaining a party takes mucho mucho money.
I think we have a better opportunity to identify alliances out there which ,as we ,do not intend to go away, and to focus with them on finding and supporting candidates who represent what now is currently under wraps: the interest of the middle class, reform of election laws at the state and national levels, and other issues people here have stated they are willing to support. We need to form as well a Congress Watch Group, beginning with the new Congress. People, from individual Congressional and Senate Districts in every state would volunteer to track members of Congress and their intended actions regarding issues. We and those in alliance would in turn consistently voice through their own constituentcies and along with others our support or rejection of what is proposed. We must be a voice along with other groups to do this. No one else will. They have not yet, for years and that is one of the reasons we are in this country where we are.

I get what you are saying… I just have this one little anecdote in reply. On Wednesday morning, I was soberly riding the bus in, avoiding looking at anyones headlines, and a little AA girls who rides in with her mom got on the bus, and she was positively beaming!!! So my brain tells myself, “hey, you cannot take that away from her” and I would not want to. If anyone can stand in testament to the fortitude of women, it is AA women. My favorite movie of all time has to be The Color Purple. I just pray there is positive with the bad. If any young child of colour ever held their head down, that they can smile during their week, I am not going to take that from them. I personally have experienced no instances of confrontation. But I do notice AA’s are holding their heads a little higher, and walking a little prouder. And I am not looking forward to any sadness a charlatan and fraud will bring. All people deserve better than what we have. 54%.

Our Ancestors were the most peaceful and complacent of all the tribes. Many of them also had hazel eyes. They wove their own fabrics from hemp, harvested crops that they cultivated, selectively bred dogs, had permanent lodges, and had a matriarchal lineage for disposition of marital property. They were excellent herbalists. Some of our modern medicines come from their craft.
When the Europeans came, the Cherokee were among the first to welcome them. In time, many of our people even went to the schools of the white man and got college degrees. This was in the 1700’s.
We have a fabulous heritage. Nice to know you, cousin.

Just as the MSM helped make BO, they will be the ones to break him.
Little by little they with question him, criticize him. BO won’t like it. His ego won’t be able to take it.
BO won’t give press conferences – MSM will get mad – criticize him more – and so on, and so on, and so on.

My daughter is one of the most courageous people on earth. She was born early, an had several health problems early on. As a result, she is severely dyslexic. She was diagnosed by our public school system as retarded. We took her to a neurologist that specializes in learning disabilities and found the truth. She didn’t even speak normally until she was nine years old. Her visual discrimination didn’t improve to the normal range until she was 14.
We home schooled her and worked with a number of therapists to help her. It was hard, but she did it.
Her lifeline was music. Beyond that, she loved history. The first book I ever got her to sit still and try to read was a book on The towns burried by Mt. Vesuivius.
She started to write music at about 9 years of age, and stories about a year later. She is probably the most creative thinker that I have ever met. She is consistently on the Dean’s list at college. She plays/has played 11 different musical instruments. She sings.
She is not a wierd looking geek either. She stands about 5′10″ tall, has long silky red hair, hazel eyes, and a body like a swim suit model.
To say I am proud of her is an understatement.

So Obama has formed an ambiguous “Office of the President Elect” with a dot gov address, and has set up a separate charitable corporation to run things on its behalf?
The only reason I can see one would do this is to circumvent campaign finance laws and to keep any activities from seeing the light of day.
I guess Obama forgets that he criticized Hillary for taking a similar approach with Healthcare:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0907/Obama_throws_his_elbow.html
And while we’re on that subject, what Obama is doing here looks to me to be a less than veiled attempt to circumvent the sunshine laws. Transparency? As I recall, a DC Federal judge rules that Hillary’s Health Care task froce was subject to those laws.
It also looks to me that Obama’s activities here are subject to FOIA requests. He is not yet President, so communications would arguably not be protected under executive privilege.
Hopefully, groups will approach these issues with the same zeal and determination that they directed against Hillary. We’ll see, very soon.

At ProudAmerican2008…
I am not a racist. But here is my take on race and blacks in America….
First, Martin Luther King is FURIOUS and waiting to kick BO’s and Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton’s and Jesse AND Jesse Jr’s ASS…they took his fight for character over skin color and made it into let’s get whitey AND reparations. Blacks are FAR worse off now in my opinion than they were in the 50’s and I blame black leadership and black people.
Second, BO alligned himself with PATENTLY racist and evil men (Wright, Otis, Pflegger, Farrakhan and others) and he is A RACIST and a HYPOCRITE. If he represents race equality or the next generation of freedom fighters for blacks…once again Martin is waiting to kick some ass…
Third, BLACKS–esp. POOR BLACKS–have been utterly SCREWED by BO in Chicago. So in addition to being a hypocritical racist and hater and liar he is a USER and as such I cannot understand ANYONE supporting him ESPECIALLY BLACKS and most especially poor blacks.
Fourth, as a JEW I am FUCKING offended by the almost TOTAL support of blacks in America for BO’s racist ways and I will NEVER forget the hypocrisy and the racism. I am now going to concentrate on other issues…
Fifth, as a WHITE woman who as worked her entire life in social service mostly with people of color I am FUCKING offended by BO and his fucking ‘community organizer’ bs since I have done more in my life for blacks than he ever will.
Sixth, Blacks voted AGAINST gays and I laughed all the way home…you both deserve each other as voting blocks. Most of my friends of gay and NONE of them supported BO. It is American and it is CONSTITUTIONALLY RIGHT that Gays have SAME RIGHTS as NONGAYS. Religion is fucking irrelevant as the justice department of the USA does not use religion when deciding who is protected by the US constitution. The fact that blacks showed their hypocrisy and gays got hurt is KARMA since MOST local and the NATIONAL GLBT supported BO. I say you deserve each other.
I AM NOT A RACIST. I have a right and much evidence to support these statements. ALL PEOPLE are born equal, but some turn out to be assholes. Decide which side you are on, and than own it.

I know some of us strongly disagree about forming a new party. I want all of us to go back through the recent posts and links and realize what the republicans have been saying about democrats for years has been largely true.
Now that I have established that, stop and think about all the things we have always believed about the republicans. If we would go back through some of the things posted on Moveon.org or other similar sites, we would realize that the things we always believed about the RNC are true as well.
To top it all off, these two parties frequently conspire with each other in what they call bi-partisan ventures. They make laws to keep down any additional opposition from third parties. They assist one another in making laws that help both of them manipulate the electorate. Mostly, they are like two intermural basketball teams from the same school. They may hate each other on the court, but they conspire together to keep everyone else out of the game.
When election time comes, we are forced to choose a candidate from one party or the other. In essence, we are forced to go along with the corruption and manipulation of both parties. We give the ball to one for a while, then they go out of bounds and we give the ball to the other side. All the while, it is their game. We are not allowed on the floor, except as spectators who are forced to give approval.
Until we have a viable alternative to this never ending corrupt game, it will continue. They will continue to force us to play it their way.
I think America is tired of this mess. We need alternatives. So what if it takes 15 or 20 years to make significant inroads to change? The sooner we start, the sooner we get there.
NewOrleansPuma 11.07.08 at 9:14 pm
Barack Obama’s campaign promises are precisely not what would be good for this country. He has promised government intervention in every aspect of private and public life and he has promised to fund that with more taxes on a populace who are going under financially. Two major car manufactures are now also going to the trough for government bailout. The government has taken over financial institutions and Democrats propose transforming 401ks into government funds on which money will receive only 3% a year.
Why would it be good, therefore, to hold his feet to the fire to produce on the very things in his platform that served as reason, along with his fradulent behavior, to reject him in the election? Frankly, I do not understand the logic of some of the comments here tonight in some of these areas. Maybe I am tired.

First, MO’s anger was misplaced, ours was not.
Second, they burned Sarah simply because she was a woman, they burned GBUSH for killing and lying about the killing
Third, when talking about women’s issues and what happens to women you have to many times talk about what men do that is not good. This is not male bashing, this is truth telling.
Fourth, I am SICK of blacks right now NOT because of their color but because of their behavior. I have a right to be sick and no it does not make me a racist.

My observation of the consequences of multi-party systems, at least the limited version thereof in Canada, is that they tend to operate mostly as two-party systems with “leakage”. Positions and ideas from the 3rd, 4th, etc., parties are appropriated by one or another of the main 2 parties when they seem to be getting much traction. This is good and bad, since it allows some new thinking into the mainstream, but at the same time tends to “deflate” the possible surges behind any outside groups.
Just sayin’.

JenniferforHillary: Sometimes the truth does not feel too good or sound too good but good it is and true it remains whether one wishes to hear it, see it, remember it, or hold to it. Again, in your way, you state the truth and by so doing burst the happy little bubble of fantasy or convenience.

Good majors Matt2008A!
The reason Ross Perot could not get his party off the ground is that it was all about him and his ideas. To form a party you need multiple candidates, and you don’t start with the presidency as your first effort.
The party of ideas and ideals that first starts by endorsements of independently minded candidates and then builds on that will succeed. We already have 2 independents in the Senate. Both ‘divorced’ their parent parties. We have several other public servants who would probably bolt from their respective parties if they had a place to go that they thought was viable. These are the people who could be the products and the beginnings of a new, improved, centrist party. We need fundraisers, thinkers, and doers to make it happen. I believe the bloggers will lead the way.

phpBB is Free software for blogs etc. It is the most successful. Claims of over a million installations. I propose we should use phpBB software as we grow.
here you can see the structure of phpBB software.
http://www.phpbb.com/community/
Notice this is also the bulletin board for discussion of this software. So here you get answers to your questions and also a feel for the way it operates. Notice how it allows for threads on different topics to be separated so people can discuss on topics of interest and find answers without wading through a 1000 random postings.
you can also download the software free from here
http://www.phpbb.com/
notice the claims of free software and also advertising free. This software is OPEN SOURCE. so the source code is there for people to modify and play with.
I have seen some with beautiful graphics and user interface. I consider the format on phpBB commuity to be kind of plain. But more than acceptable and many people simply use this plain format.
I hope that PUMA will use this FREE software to help PUMA grow into a larger organization. It will handle a much higher traffic of postings in an organized way so that we can accomplish more. Getting the information to members better.
I do like the friendliness of the present simple format where everyone reads all posts but it really is getting top heavy with over a thousand posts a day. Thus so much good information is lost or never read and impossible to retrieve agains. Hopefully with phpBB software members will be able to easy retrieve information using the search feature.
Members are also given individual accounts with the ability to personal message individuals. thus if I read a post I can message the person asking a question. and get the answer back into my message list. finding the answer very easy.
With the present software if I ask a question publicly I might get an answer but never able to find the answer under some 1000 responses on different ideas.
This software allows us to turn chaos communication into organized communication.
I worry even this posting will be lost and I will never know if anyone responds to what I have posted.

APPLES AND ORANGES
We’ve railed against the media obsessing about Palin’s clothes, but talked about the attire of Obama’s children.
*****People weren’t referring to their attire in the sense of fashion, they were referring to the color symbolism of their clothes.
We’ve hated how Prop 8 went down, yet sent thank you notes to Palin, who would likely be no champion of the rights of the GLBT community.
********** Palin is compassionate toward gays and lesbians. Her closest friend is a lesbian. I didn’t see her try to shut down the one and only open conversation about gays and lesbians on the blog.
We’ve talked about how angry MO always looks, while filled with so much anger ourselves.
********* Mrs Obama has been given opportunities on the backs of taxpayers… some think she should consider being a tiny bit grateful vs hateful
We’ve been shocked to learn of a Sarah Palin hanging effigy, but never noticed such effigies of George Bush over the years, which were burned across America.
**********George Bush is most powerful person in the world due to his position. He is hung in effigy due to his policies, not because of his gender.
A blog post paints black men in the south with a broad stroke regarding how they treat their women, yet we all took offense when Senator Murtha painted his constituents as racists with equally as broad a brush.
****** agree. Although this was in the context of teh way Obama treats women. But still…
We’ve posted passionate posts after equal rights, while some of our most prominent PUMAs have talked of AA’s and their trickery at the polls, while others decided to vote against any AA on the ballot, noting: “Fuck ‘em.”
********* Directed at me: I voted against all democrats unless they were women, I voted for all the women on the ballot including three women of color. I voted against two black men running for school board… based on color.
We talk of fairness and equality while accepting some degree of male bashing on the blog.
**********Most of this is in the context of the patriarchy and individual pigs. This also includes men who ignore the NO statemenst of women.
Things are not so simple and I hope that in these days ahead we will not become a site filled with self righteous anger. I don’t want to create a hierarchy of victimhood.
********** This is the line that always comes up when the focus is on uplifting the status if women.
Many people suffer in this country and around the world for countless reasons.
**********Women above all else.
I hope we can focus our mission and move forward with action without feeling the need to unfairly bash others along the way.

AWFUL HATFUL DISGUSTING THINGS….lots and lots of websites.
FUCKING APOLOGIZE FOR NOTHING. This is what killed the feminist movement…women fucking apologizing to blacks…
THIS WHITE WOMAN wants to officially state on this day in my life blacks can FUCK OFF. I don’t care if you starve in the streets, I don’t care if you kill each other over tennis shoes, I SIMPLY DO NOT CARE. You have shown me what I mean to you, what my work has meant to you, and what matters to you….
THAT BEING SAID, most of my close friends are non white and I AM NOT A RACIST.
WOMEN will NEVER stop being the Niggers of the world (Yoko Ono’s words) if we don’t stop ACTING like we belong at the bottom of the barrel…
PUMA shouldn’t apologize for JACK SHIT…WE WERE THE PURE ONES, THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS, THE TRUTH TELLERS…
AND anyone that tells met that BO is a GOOD thing for blacks get ready for me to FUCKING FREAK OUT ON YOU. The FUCKING LAST THING blacks needs is another greedy ass money grubbing lying sack of shit pretending to be a leader….what they needed was Hillary CLinton, and what they fucking got was a black devil pretending to be a messiah…
I am really upset, and I am sobbing again. I am scared about the news and what I am reading and what I am seeing. I want PUMA to be a place to feel safe and perhaps to even fight back a lil’ against the machine, but if when I come here I have to read apologies and ass kissing and such I will just have to fade away…

I have not heard of the Working Families party. This is what I am talking about. We have all kinds of independent people out there trying hard to move upstream against these two corrupt giants. We need to find some mechanism with which to unite us all. I think the internet is the tool. I have asked all of my family and friends to find out all they can about these candidates and the outsider parties they represent. If we can contact them all, make a coalition, and then work togehter, there is a chance of success.

I received this from my sister-in-law and it made me laugh hope it does you also!
A bald man with a wooden leg gets invited to a Halloween party. He doesn’t know what costume to wear to hide his bald head and his leg so he writes to a costume company to explain his problem.
A few days later he received a parcel with the following note:
Dear Sir,
Please find enclosed a pirate’s outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and, with your wooden leg, you will be just right as a pirate.
Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.
The man thinks this is terrible because they have just emphasized his wooden leg and so he writes a letter of complaint. A week goes by and he receives another parcel and a note , which says:
Dear Sir,
Please find enclosed a monk’s habit. The long robe will cover your wooden leg and, with your bald head, you will really look the part.
Very truly yours,
Acme Costume Co.
Now the man is really upset since they have gone from emphasizing his wooden leg to emphasizing his bald head so again he writes the company another nasty letter of complaint.
A few days later, he gets a small parcel and a note which reads:
Dear Sir,
Please find enclosed bottle of molasses and a bag of crushed nuts. Pour the molasses over your bald head, pat on the crushed nuts, stick your wooden leg up your ass and go as a caramel apple.

REPOST:
He is up for re-election in Nevada.
kat in your hat 11.07.08 at 9:43 pm
@ # 419:
jen–it’s ok. A lot of what you are saying is true. It IS a tragedy in a lot of ways how Obama exploited black people…and how a lot of them don’t know it or don’t care.
Going back to horrible Rezko slumlord in Chicago–leaving poor people, mainly blacks, to live without heat and in danger, or that young black kid dying because of the faulty metal fence, or how Obama would use black people with his speeches (like his lie about Selma) which made black people actually cry and cheer…it’s all a shame.
But those things were simply not reported on enough, and I think a lot of blacks who knew that stuff just didn’t care. It’s a shame. And yes, of course it’s a shame that Hillary and Bill have actually DONE something for black people, and yet people believed they were suddenly racist. What a shame.
Ah well. The Clinton’s actually legitimized it by campaigning for him later.
I think Obama supporters will all experience some big revelations down the road. They are too young/ stupid/ brainwashed now…those things change over time.

#428Murphy: The race card may be for you played the last time in this country, but the dude and the campaign who played it won this election by hook and by crook. It will be played again and again by his administration ..when they feel they need to pluck that string and it will be done for the same reasons…This is one of the reasons that I tried to remind that he carries with him everything he carried with him before Nov 4. This is why I rejected totally the comments of Proud American 2008. This is why this…this card…which powerfully worked will be used again.
This is why I stated that I fail to see how having a fraud for a President is, should or can be a source of pride for anyone or on behalf of anyone.
And this is also why, the battle of misogony will continue because it works also…i.e. its use.
Evil is a horrifically efficient instrument of terror and abuse. That is its nature. It will continue to manifest in both ways..the race card and the sexist card. And this man has shown himself to be a master at playing both. This will not be an easy 4 years for this and many many reasons.

Thanks Terry. Yes, I agree. I have the two dogs separated so Becca doesn’t have to interact with Luna. I have to keep her very calm until her eye heals so I have her in a special room in my house. The original owner would be happy to take Luna back. He already has 3 other Danes and 4 German Shepards. Luna gets along well with all of them so it would be an easy transition. My daughter agrees that we need to give her back, it’s just hard for me,

How can we ever fight for fair elections if we sweep the caucus fraud under the rug. We need to have proof that corruption is possible by using examples of how it has already been done. If we start saying that we are against the caucus part of the election without facts – don’t we just sound like we are being fearful something might happen. I don’t like to call inequality racism. It has been racism that underlay much of the inequity in our country, but it was not the racism that was doing the bad deeds, it was the inequity.
We have worked for the last 100 years, intensively for the last 50, to make sure every race, creed, color, etc, is equal under the law. We have all cried and felt bad when we have been fed a constant diet of movies and other things with the downtroden black rising above their low estate to overcome the inequities the white community has forced upon them. All in all, we have had guilt heaped upon our heads by the ton. Most of us have worked hard to expell all of those inequities from our own minds and from society as a whole.
We never counted on Black Liberation Theology. We never really understood that some of the hate filled racists were blacks who hated whites, most particularly white women. The fact that black men raping white women has almost become an epidemnic should have been a clue that something was happening. When you preach and teach hate, you will get hate. Since rape is a crime of hate and violence that always targets women, this should have been a no brainer. But we tried hard to make sure we were not just accusing the perpetrators because they were of a minority race. We were wrong not to see beyond the hype.
The black youth of our day are being abused by their elders who teach this black liberation theology crap. They are being set up for a life that is full of hate and pain. Many will go to jail for their hateful acts. Instead of giving the youth a boost up to something productive, they give them an excuse to fail, then they claim it all on successful white women.
I am declaring myself free of the guilt. I am never going to be bullied, cajoled, or proded into believing that I am a racist because I believe in equality, and only equality. By that I mean we all have to be upright citizens regardless of race or gender. Those who would preach hate are hateful, period, end of sentence.

As a white female who grew up in Detroit and attended a University in Detroit where I was often one of the only white people in the class…..I say AMEN!!!!!
I am tired of the race card being played as often as it has.
I totally am behind you when you talk about sexism and misogyny being it.
Jenni you are right when you quote Yoko Ono Women are the Niggers of the World!

#452BillieJoe: I agree with you. I believe one of the things of the many we will need to do is to make sure we have gathered and/or continue to gather information regarding this ..for simply wanting election reform in the Party system is not going to do it. Perhaps when the video is finished and it is passed around to the antiObama coalition we can as well then make another call for colleciton of documentation from whereever there were caucuses and add it to that which we already have. This is important.

Billiejoe, I would never want caucus fraud swept under the rug. There is proof of that. Even if you can’t absolutely prove fraud, you can argue the unfairness and disenfranchisement inherent in the caucus caucus.

Okay Pumas,
Time to get down and dirty…The PEOPLE need a voice!! What is the best way to get a voice?? First…support net neutrality! Though, it has been given bad press, net neutrality means that the PEOPLE can’t be silenced. Research it yourself. The FCC is not the only one against net neutrality, find out why!!! Educate yourself (and spread the word) about this.
