I for one do not like the community service requirement, but i do however think they should be offered skills based programs so they will be able to find work…i saw a report that this country is running out of welders for example, we will always need joe the plumbers, ed the electricians, and andy the auto mechanic etc etc, i say they should be required to pick a trade they are interested in
and go do on the the job training for a period of time to see if they would like it, after all, it is about JOBS

Moderation…yes. Let’s certainly not be hypocritical here shall we. I apologize for not being a racist nor referring to people as fktards. You could do so much good but I have a notion you will be mired in hatred. I beg you PUMA’s…do not become what you despise. Sexist, racist and blind is no way to form a “more perfect union”. Undoubtedly, my comments will be rejected for not conforming to your agenda. You can not build progressive change by clinging to the worst of what you despise.

New to PUMA and frankly confused…help me please. Why all the hate? Why not a progressive move forward? The system is deeply flawed but I must say, the notion that simply having female equipment does not qualified make. Am I an Obama fan…no. My candidate was and is Hillary, but this organization that seems to be a fantastic start in a new direction seems to be mired in a racist, backward glance when the future is all that matters. Bitterness is not the answer. Fire away PUMA’s…support the lightweight Palin and align yourself with the smear machines that are right wing media…but what not work for positive change? I await my flogging for flying in the face of your dogma.

I followed up on advertising rates in AARP. The costs are prohibitive. However, I checked the online version of the newsletter, and they post letters to the editor and also permit readers to comment!

I smell opportunity. I think these readers represent a natural constituency to join our group. Letters & comments containing our PUMA brand would help draw them to us.

Here is a letter-to-the-editor in the October 1 issue:

“I have given this election and its ramifications a great deal of thought and research. If you are still of independent thought, please read this. Mr. Obama is eloquent, charming and convincing. He is also disingenuous, arrogant and seemingly naive. He espouses unification, and yet hits pits income Class against income Class, age Class against age Class, omitting that tax increases on corporations and higher income earners will by trickle down be placed on the shoulders of the Middle Class and poor of all age levels, young and elderly. He espouses racial unity, but allows his minions to play the race card…”

Hi everyone. I come home and turn on the tv for the first time since the election, and the first friggin thing I see is oistillthinkheisafktard, and the first thing I hear is he made an apology to Nancy Reagan for saying something “off the cuff” about her contacting an astrologer after President Reagan got shot. He is just such an asshole, always speaking against women…wtf

What pressure does anyone think the average citizen could actually bring to bear on Obama? None. Any protests, e-mails, faxes, letter, phone calls would all be blithely ignored by the One. He’s going to do what he wants. After all, he is the Messiah.

My friend thinks maybe going to cafe press and printing bumper stickers and yard signs about OBO’s promises.
How about a petition to our members of congress and members of the senate about cabinet appointments.

Full page ads in city newspapers, anyone about OBO’s slighting of women? What does it cost? Where can an ad have the most impact?

What kind of organization is NOW and who funds them?
