It’s the CRACKLE!

by murphy on November 7, 2008

in CRACKLE!

This is classic. What’s even more incredible than Matthews arguing that his role as a journalist is to “make [Obama's presidency] work successfully” is how long it took Scarborough to jump on it. Later in the clip Matthews says his job is to “debate the issues.” Hello? No it’s not! That’s the Republicans job, or the people’s job. Journalists and reporters are not supposed to be taking part in the debate — their job is to report and analyze, offering conflicting, confounding, and as much background information as possible so WE can debate and understand the facts. But Matthews would rather make sure that Obama’s tenure has CRACKLE!

Holy smokes. It’s going to be a LONG four years.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Yeah, well, you know what? I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work, and I think that –

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!

MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.

SCARBOROUGH: Your job is the make this presidency work?

MATTHEWS: To make this work successfully. This country needs a successful presidency.

I emailed FOX and Friends this morning on Chris Matthews.

I told them Matthews show should be renamed SOFTBALL!

I thought the premise of his show was to hold the politician’s feet to the fire and take no prisoners.

Nobody from the MSM picked up on the misnomer of his show’s name.

Well, now Matthews’ mission is out in the open and anything he says, we can consider the source. (We’ve been doing that for quite a while)

I guess he forgot along the way, about the time he pressed that Obama supporter to name Obama’s accomplishments.

Sooner or later that Obama Koolaid is going to leave a bad taste on the mouths’ of the MSM!

Chris Matthews avoided Viet Nam by doing something else, it’s on wikipedia. He opposed the Viet Nam war. I guess others did too. But if he has avoided sacrificing for this country, where does he get off making it his thing to work for the country. He’s an ass

The news media’s role is simply to report the news. Back in the days of ethical journalism, tv journalists were even trained to not facially react to stories.

Now? They make up their own stories, or they spin the truth, or they completely color the story with their own opinions and reactions. Even worse though, is that they HIDE the news–the truth. It’s dangerous. We need less pundits and more hard news journalists. We need curious and responsible investigative journalism. But tv news is competing with the internet and our culture of reality tv, and so they level, and report on only the superficial and sensational to appeal to the lowest common denominator for ratings. A lot of them are also totally controlled by their bosses and they are morally weak people.

(Sorry to re-post this—I’m new and entered it near the end below. Again, sorry, but I need to say this.)

As I said earlier, I’m new. I need to be up front. I’m a middle-class, conservative Republican who has followed your comments since the night that Sarah spoke to the RNC.

I think we’ve all learned a lot about each other since that night. It’s been a pleasure for me to see how much we have in common.

This having been said, I think you’re probably also beginning to see that middle-class Republican conservatives don’t have a lot in common with the relatively small group of blue-bloods that want to control the Republican party—witness what they’re trying to do right now to Sarah, whom we all deeply love. I’d also ask you to consider the extraordinary way that the new (conservative) media is coming to her defense, even if McCain is not. (Sarah Palin for President, 2012!!!)

I believe that it is so very important for PUMAs and conservative Republicans and others of like mind to continue to open up and develop an ongoing dialog. I think all of us can see that we’re heading, as a nation, into an uncharted future (e.g., consider the stock market for starters). What we have comfortably known as our national political process may or may not remain the same.

We, as middle-class Americans who share so much, need to establish a commonly understood ground upon which we can operate. And we can do this now because the MAIN STREAM MEDIA no longer separates us! Nothing has been a greater obstacle to open communication than this wretched creature!

We all carry a certain amount of baggage with us that can get in the way, but if we go forward, respecting each other and our common principles, a new and different political entity may arise.

Thanks for letting me speak.

HOW TO STEAL AN ELECTION-2008
Starring . . . .
The “Bitch”, The “Bimbo”, White Guilt, and 100 Million Dollars!

My disgust with the DNC began with RBC travesty May 31, which I witnessed on one of the t.v. stations. When I came to this site its first week, someone suggested renting the movie “Ironed Jawed Angels”. It helped me to NAME my call, my cause. It really woke me up! What we witnessed with Hillary, we are seeing happen again with Sarah. Last night, I purchased two copies, and I have decided to go back and purchase more . . .GREAT Christmas gifts! I am handing them out now to people who have expressed a disgust with what happened this year, but can’t put a face on it . . .and also giving them to female friends that bashed Hillary and Palin. (I wonder how Hillary Swank voted this year? Having a tube thrust down your throat and nose had to have made a difference in your perspective.)

Do this for Lucy Burns and Alice Paul (If you don’t know who they are, perhaps use this time away from the “tube” to look ‘em up?
A PUMA CHALLENGE FOR MY PUMA FRIENDS . . IF you haven’t seen the movie, rent it this week end! If you have, buy lots of copies ($11.95), and pass them out where you see fit.) Maybe Pelosi and Oprah should get a copy Fed. Express! Gotta go to work . . will repost later this evening.

The only thing the MSM cares about is ratings and they are down at MSNBC. Sarah Palin draws huge ratings every place she goes. The morons think they can get ratings for bringing up her name. They have moved out of biased and bigoted to pathetic and unwatchable.
The so called “feminists” of the world really really want to be Democrats and they thought Democrats are the ones who would give women a hand up. Instead BO gave women a shitty boot in the face as he crawled over them on his way up. So far “feminists” are trying insanely to convince themselves that Hillary and Sarah were just the wrong women and deserve this bigoted treatment rather then facing the reality of rampant misogyny in the MSM and the Democrat party.

Meanwhile we need to work for consumer rights in TV media. There is no reason we should be forced to subsidize bigots like MSNBC. We should have the OPTION of cable TV a la carte so we can choose which channels we subscribe to. If even half of the people did this the crappy parts of the MSM would go out of business and something new would have a chance to take their place.

HILLARY DID IT
by Lynette Long Hillary elected Barack Obama. Single handedly she delivered the White House to him on a silver platter. She led millions of her supporters from outrage to complacency. She appeared a record seventy-nine times on behalf of Barack Obama. She played follow the leader. And her supporters followed. In droves.Still thousands of her supporters, ignored her pleas. Outraged by the misogynistic treatment of Hillary during the primaries, these supporters campaigned all over the country for John McCain. These women remembered being bullied by Obama supporters during the Texas caucuses. They remembered watching buses transport Obama supporters across state lines to illegally vote in primaries and participate in the caucuses. These “Real Democrats” or “Democrats for McCain” approached young women, old women, straight women, gay women, and urged them to vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin. A group traveled every weekend from New York to Scranton to canvas for John McCain. Others drove around Ohio in a motor home putting flyers on cars and talking to voters. Others were interviewed on television and radio. Thousands blogged. But no matter how hard they worked to right a wrong, one appearance by Hillary Clinton on national television stumping for Obama erased all their efforts. There was no way for them to win. On the road many former Hillary supporters asked them, Why is Hillary campaigning so hard for Obama? Others expressed their trust in Hillary succinctly, Hillary is my leader, I will do whatever she says. These were the true champions of democracy. For their efforts their friends called them racist and their bank accounts dwindled as they left their jobs to fight for what they believed in.Hillary could have stayed silent. Her silence would have been deafening. Hillary could have made one or two perfunctory appearances for Obama, instead aggressively campaigned for him. She did not have to do it. She campaigned for Obama knowing he was mute when his pastor trashed her from the pulpit.· She campaigned for Obama knowing he was blind when his supporters wore t-shirts that read, Iron my Shirt, but don’t run my country. Or worse.· She campaigned for Obama knowing he was silent when Ludacris called her a bitch. · She campaigned for Obama knowing the Obama campaign cheated in the caucuses and was the illegitimate nominee.· She campaigned for Obama knowing Obama and the DNC refused to have a true roll call at the convention.· She campaigned for Obama knowing Obama under the guise of ACORN registered tens of thousands of illegitimate voters. · She campaigned for Obama after he ignored pleas from her 18 million voters to select her for VP.· She campaigned for Obama after he trashed her husband’s legacy.· She campaigned for Obama after she was consistantly and visciously attacked by the mainstream media.· She campaigned for Obama knowing that her supporters, many of whom waited a lifetime to see a female presidential candidate, wanted her to fight on.· She campaigned for Obama knowing that millions upon millions of women across the world were cheering for her.Hillary was delivered the perfect storm. She could have stood up and fought for the women in this country who have lived a lifetime of invisibility. She could have given us courage. She could have rocked the world. Instead, she chose to put party before principle. She chose to put her career above the wants and needs of her supporters. She chose to work within the party rather than against it.
She may have put 18 million cracks in a glass ceiling, but she sent a resounding message to the women of the world. Go back to the man who abused you. Be silent. Be a good girl.It takes courage to break a glass ceiling. You have to be able to give a punch as well as take one. You have to be willing to stand alone. Hillary could have transcended politics. She didn’t. Instead she lost my respect and the respect of millions of women. History seldom gives a second chance. And courage isn’t an acquired trait. Some day, women will have their chance, per chance. Every woman will have the courage to stand up and be counted.

I’m not giving up or giving in but I can not and will not take any more time away from the joys of life and my family. Ultimately…..we are not big enough or rich enough to make a difference. 18 Million voices were silenced and 2.7 million PUMAS votes proved my theory. And just listening to CM being the topic of today’s conversatin is more than I can accept.

I guess Lynette is saying that Hillary superglued all 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling back together again. That is giving one person too much power over our destiny.

I wish Hillary didn’t go out and do what she did, but I think the media is more culpable. The video above shows how in the tank and bias they were for one candidate and how off track they are when it comes to the real duties of their very important job, which is to provide information to the American people.

The media (as they are today) is the enemy of democracy.

Really? Do we have a real journalist out there who might ask Chris Matthews about the following:
Let’s think about this. We now have a President-elect who trained ACORN agitators to harass banks to make risky home loans to low income minorities and also pressured Fannie & Freddie and their congressional supporters (like Obama who, in 3 short years, became the 2nd highest receipient of campaign donations from Fannie & Freddie) to force banks to make more and more of these risky subprime mortgages, leading to the mortgage meltdown and the current deep recession, and now Obama hires as his Chief of Staff a guy who oversaw Fannie & Freddie when the corruption, including cooking the books and multi-million dollar payouts to corrupt Fannie & Freddie executives was going down:
Emanuel Was Director Of Freddie Mac During Scandal
New Obama Chief of Staff, Others on Board, Missed “Red Flags” of Alleged Fraud Scheme
By BRIAN ROSS and RHONDA SCHWARTZ
November 7, 2008

President-elect Barack Obama’s newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on the board of directors of the federal mortgage firm Freddie Mac at a time when scandal was brewing at the troubled agency and the board failed to spot “red flags,” according to government reports reviewed by ABCNews.com.

Atypical #21 – thanks for posting that. It’s exactly what Hillary did and totally nails the reason for the loss of confidence that so many of her followers had in her. But, I’m through looking back, like Scarlett O’Hara, said, it’s too painful and it just tears at your heart. I’m making a resolution to do something at least every week for the next four years to boost Sarah Palin’s image. I’m sure that plenty of opportunities will come up that will make it very easy. Today I’m emailing Bill O’Reilly, Last night he read an email from someone who asked why did he threw Sarah under the bus based on Karl Cameron’s comments and he answered “because it’s news.” Sorry, but it’s not news, it’s gossip. Karl said he couldn’t say who said it, and that’s the number one component of gossip. He probably won’t read it and that’s okay. Think I’ll post it on Gretawire, too.

Hey goofs — yes I did and I’m trying to be creative! will keep thinking. Do you know what the format/topic/themes are going to be?

WOW! that’s some tough lovin on Hillary from Lynette Long. I’m going to let it sink in. How about you guys? I feel less raw today, but still a bit protective/edgy — these are the days we lash out and then want to pull the emotions back a bit and feel sorry for flying off the handle. RD is still dealing with explaining her post-election temporary “giddiness.” I’m still dealing with my post-election “fu** the democratic party” post. I think Lynette makes some good points and I may end up agreeing with her completely. She may end up modifying her stance.

I dont want to attack or fully support what she writes. Though I must admit it strikes me as pretty true on first reading.

oh well. We have to build this from the bottom up. Someone very wise said yesterday, “Lead, never be led. Not even by people you admire.”

That sentence is applicable in so many ways. To Hillary herself, who maybe should have been more of a leader and been less led. To us as Hillary supporters. And to us as leaders of this movement.

Interesting.

Read this. It’s GOOD. It explains WHY feeling happy for the black community about the election of obama is actually condescending and patronizing.

From last night’s thread:

turndownobama 11.07.08 at 12:36 am

Nijma 11.06.08 at 11:58 pm
I don’t know if anyone has posted this before, there’s a petition to sign from Women Count:

“We call on the president-elect, to create within the first 100 days, a presidential commission on women that will bring together the best thinkers from all backgrounds, sectors and political parties to impact the future of women in our nation.”

http://womencount.org/if_not_now_when

=====================

Are they nuts? They want OBAMA in charge of something like this? Any commision he would appoint would say ….. OH BULLSHIT. Are they nuts?

Nijma answers: Yes, I agree a commission would be valuable, and it should be done at a presidential level. If Obama refuses, that says something that needs to be publicized. If he agrees, how could he not put any women on the commission? If the commission lies, that also needs to be publicized, and the falsehoods pointed out. In the meantime women’s issues are on the front burner.

Obama is not approaching women’s issues as a “good tide floats all boats” kind of thing. He’s approaching it as a “zero sum game”, where if one person gets something, it has been taken away from someone else. This is the same problem that goes on in low income white neighborhoods where whites know they are in direct competition with blacks for limited resources. Women’s rights cannot be allowed to slip into an either/or question. We must have rights for all.

Yes, sign the petition. They’re good people and now that Hillary has gone back home, we need all the people we can get to fight for us.

58

indy 11.07.08 at 10:05 am

I felt Joe Scarborough in the last six weeks of the election, was supporting Obama, on the snippets I saw of him on the web.

Now, by his sparring with Matthews, maybe that Koolaid is wearing off.

I boycotted watching the MSM long ago, but I’ve commented and emailed them about their biased “reporting” for 20 months.

Well, the web is the New Media, so let our work begin.

Starting with Obama’s naming of Emanuel and Podesta, two Clinton advisors.

During the primaries, Obama would never compliment Bill on the eight greatest years of a presidential administration in modern history. Then after Obama was selected the DNC nominee, all he did was tout the Clinton years.

And yesterday, he worked out of the office of John Rodgers of Ariel Capital Management. This is what ABC News said about Ariel and Obama in May 2008:

“Following Obama’s efforts, the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System gave Ariel Capital $112.5 million to manage, and added hundreds of millions more over the next few years.

In 2006, the teachers’ fund took its money back out, citing Ariel’s “underperformance.” Ariel said the hot stock market of 2006 made its funds’ growth look modest, guided as it was by the firm’s conservative buy-and-hold philosophy. Ariel is positively rated by several investment experts.

Now, Rogers is an Illinois finance co-chairman for Obama’s presidential campaign, having raised more than $200,000 for the campaign. Ariel employees have given nearly $70,000 to Obama’s White House effort — for a total of more than $130,000 to Obama’s political career since 2001, when the politician went to bat for the company. The total includes $8,100 donated by Ariel Capital president Mellody Hobson, an ABC News financial contributor. Hobson is listed by the Obama campaign as a “bundler” who has raised between $50,000 and $100,000 for Obama’s presidential campaign.

In addition to fundraising, Rogers provided Obama with Ariel Capital’s private jet in 2005, following his election as a U.S. senator.”

Well, that’s certainly getting Obama’s presidency started on right foot.

NEW ORLEANS #49

It was a post by Nancy S., but she was apparently referring back to something Dr. Long wrote.

60

Zee 11.07.08 at 10:14 am

Regarding Lynette Long’s post…it’s no different from Gore not fighting. And there’s a reason. Barney Frank explained it to me when I went to see him with my friend who is a constituent of his. You can’t buck the media. You have this little tiny narrow door of opportunity and that’s it. The cover one little thing exhaustively. Then another. There is no dialogue.

Hillary’s message would not have gotten out. Even when they asked her about the Florida voters, back in the primary, she explained briefly and then said people could look into it if they wanted to know more because there was simply too much detail to go into — you know, before the next commercial break!

If Hillary had gone “rogue” that’s all we’d have heard. We wouldn’t be hearing anything but a spittle-wave of outrage on “sore loser” — she would’ve sacrificed everything and the caucus fraud would remain uninvestigated.

Topics we are still working on and would love suggestions from ya.

I am praying that God will soon send a message to all that will give the Palin family some media relief

I know God has a plan for Palin and Hillary but it has been painful waiting for God to unfold it for all to see.

I feel we have insulted all African Americans by enabling the first African American president to win by first cheating in the caucus contests during the democratic nomination race, and then compounding this error by allowing Barack Obama to spend 3 times what his presidental competition spent, and doing it with well over 200 million dollars in undocumented money.

Yep… except for that “we” part, and the addition of african americans insulting themselves.

Ohio had a LOWER voter turnout than in 2004!

How can this be? What does it mean? How many other states had the same thing?

Lynette Long is a long-time femininist–who has worked tirelessly for women’s advancement in our culture, dating all the way back from when she counted how many girls/women were pictured in textbooks schools bought. Answer many years ago-0-or they were cooking.

http://www.lynettelong.com/

Lynette was a stong and well-spoken Hillary supporter who then approached the Obama campaign asking them to promise to name women to the Supreme Court, to Obama’s administration, and to consider Hillary for VP. Women are 51% of the population and need to be 51% of all government. Obama never met with her, but the response was there aren’t that many qualified women. (I’m summarizing and paraphrasing, of course.) She then met with John McCain and made the same request. The answer was yes. She then campaigned for McCain-Palin. She said much of what Seattlegirl said regarding not that woman and not that one, either–Hillary and Sarah. Lynette said that woman–now!

I feel her essays are brilliant!

ATTENTION PUMA’s do not lose faith. The numbers are changing every day and won’t have accurate numbers until certified on Dec. 1st and will be changing every day for at least next 2 weeks minimum.
Warning do not go by any counts except the state election board or county results……Over the weekend I will be going through all the states again and getting the updated counts…..and will continue to update every few days
through the certified final count Dec. 1st/2nd.

Electoral Count Nov. 4th
Obama 349
McCain 163

And as of this morning Indiana has moved into MCCAIN’s column and out of

Obama’s.
McCain, John Sarah Palin (Republican) 1,115,146
Obama, Barack Joe Biden (Democratic) 1,037,982
Barr, Bob Wayne A. Root (Libertarian) 24,100

New Electoral Count Nov. 7th 9:00 am
Obama 338
McCain 174

And Keep an eye on this closely! It could be FLORIDA FLORIDA FLORIDA!!!!!!! Again. and other close states because they are not done counting and verifying.

Watch as the BOIZ start loving Matthews again like they used to before the iraq War.

DONT PUT YOUR FAITH IN ANY OF THEM. THEY ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS.

Look how complacent the bunch of them were when Matthews was basically dismantling and disrobing their entire profession — exposing their warped and cancer-ridden integrity. The woman (what’s her name?) was sputtering, trying to stop herself from even asking a question. Joe took 2 solid minutes to regain his footing, and ALL of them were bending over backwards to say they were SUPPORTIVE of obama, that as americans they LOVE the president, ADMIRE the president, are PROUD of the president.

They are NOT our friends. They never will be. The BOIZ will be forced by cognitive dissonance to PRETEND they now suddenly LOVE the msm. But we shouldn’t be fooled.

Matthews and the bunch of them (including Scarborough, Rush, Hannity, O’Reilly, Olbermann, Colbert, ALL of them) are merely the Head Sheep In Charge.

that’s it.

I can not agree more with Lynette’s article. I often wondered why Hillary did deliver the presidency to BO on a ‘platinum’ platter. She didn’t have to. Even my sister mentioned – well Hillary wants us to vote for BO. And how many more millons of people were lead to support BO after getting a green light from Hillary?

I hate to say it, but now Hillary more than deserves the results. I still think that she is great in her abilities to lead the country, but she disassociated herself from Pumas very clearly and ignored our pleas not to give in. She totally set aside advise and wishes of her supporters.
I think that it will be quite difficult to repair this. We just have to watch.

idk gjk, it’s sort of an impossible hypothesis.

I think she would have won if she’d been the nominee.

IMPORTANT

This link from countusout had a link to a radio show with Andy Martin last night.

http://countusout.wordpress.com/2008/11/07/martin-v-obama-court-hearing-tuesday-november-18th-in-the-circuit-court-for-honolulu-at-1030-am-to-force-release-of-obamas-original-birth-files/

Problem is the link that leads to the show no longer leads to the Andy Martin audio but rather the more current audio for the Lan show. But it was an awesome idea and it sounded extremely logical. Can anyone find the audio? Everyone must hear it and it needs to be our prowl.

The gist of the idea is to funnel our outrage at the electoral college representatives. Andy Martin said not to waste our time with the Dem. reps cause they will protect Obama… but to demand that the Republican representatives of the electoral college demand to see the birth certificate. We need to make them demand a fight and not to be intimidated by the threat (from the Obama side) of a revolution… cause damn it… we’re ready for that revolution too. This country is worth fighting for and McCain needs to fight for it as well.

Andy Martin also suggested that Judge Scolea (I know I butchered the spelling but forgive me)… anyway… this Judge would appreciate the legal argument that the constitutional “intent” of the electoral college was meant to defend the country in this exact situation. So we need to make that argument too.

Again… can someone find the audio of that program for everyone to listen to. It’s our last hope… but we have that fight in us. I need to leave to go to work… but I’ll do whatever I need to do on this. Please go to the link above and try to find the correct related link to the radio show… and listen to this … it’s important.

Good morning, PUMAS,

When I went to high School, back in the 1970’s, (i know, the dark ages), in English, we were taught that Journalism was to be without bias. We were cautioned that every person has a bend, but we were to acurately portray the facts, as closely as possible. As a Conservative Christian and Republican, I can tell you that the media’s portrayal of us is not true. That said, what can we do? First, realize that there is a major slant. Second, become vocal. We, as woman, have left each other hung out to dry because we tend to either look the other way, for fear that could be us, or think that she deserves it. Women, in the South, we need to recognize that we are not competing for the social club position. This is not Gilmore Girls or Desperate Housewives, it is real life. I may not agree with all of Hillary’s or Sarah’s views, but these are women, who through hard work, have risen to the top. Supporting them is supporting yourself and your daughters.

92

kat in your hat 11.07.08 at 10:45 am

I…have a plan in mind. Right now…we have serious decisions to make. Right now is the time to act and make those decisions. It’s rather urgent. I think we need a solid plan my Monday. And the change has to happen by next week. I think I have a good idea on what to do.

I am going to write something up and spread around the idea.

“So far “feminists” are trying insanely to convince themselves that Hillary and Sarah were just the wrong women and deserve this bigoted treatment rather then facing the reality of rampant misogyny in the MSM and the Democrat party.”

************************
I agree with you completely Seattlegirl, there is such a thing as being a Republican and not wanting to support a female Democrat like Hillary , and/or being a Democrat and not wanting to support a female Republican candidate like Sarah. But the open ridicule by women from both sides of the party is self-destructive and infuriating.

“Hillary and Sarah were just the wrong women! “ What a bunch of crap!

But, I am also embarrassed at the number of women who do not even come out and vote, after the suffragette suffered so much to ensure women’s right to vote!
When women do not go out to vote they dishonor themselves and those brave women around the world who fought for women’s rights. That is my personal sentiments.

The very same rights that they enjoy today, their right to vote, but they seem to have an attitude that is was already their God given right, they do not know their own her/story.…

I am a staunch Feminist and
women hating women,
that is the one thing, I hate about women
is their hating of other women.

I knew it felt too good to be true that abc would allow a positive report in defense of Palin. Get this, when you follow the link I posted above, after reading the positive story from Palin’s aide, you see at the bottom a picture of Sarah and the caption, what’s next for Sarah? Well, click on it and then click on her picture in the video roll on the next screen. Then you’ll hear the news report that I am sure was televised and therefore reached more viewers (until I can convince people it is what Mrs. Sublette in 7th grade said it was, an IDIOT BOX – that means you Matthews and you Olbermann and more and more I could name). Anyway, the televised report you can see on the web ends on a very critical note about —- you guessed it, the wardrobe!

Does anyone know if the DNC even investigated one incident of caucus fraud?

yup, that’s a plan. Let’s not blame the woman. That is how patriarchy perpetuates itself.

Ex. women bind the feet of female children in China. Historically, always the women did it to their daughters. This way, the girl would blame the mother for the pain. Who required the binding? Males. It was to serve the sexual fetish and make the girl more desirable for marriage and therefore more valuable to her father.

Everyone should read Gyn/Ecology by Mary Daly for how the culture we live in encourages girls to attack each other in competition for male approval (and protection) in a society that fosters violence against noncompliant females.

Now I am not sure how to go about it but I’m willing to keep digging to find a answer since god knows the media will not continue to dig for it. We know he did not release his donor list (for certain amounts) can’t we demand now it be released? Wouldn’t that be public record now that he was “elected”, also we know they said about using a credit card to make donations and Hillarys and Johns rejected it but Obama’s took it so there was some Illegal stuff going on there, it was on fox news I’ll try to see if I can find the transcript for it, it was some kind of a test thing they were doing with a fake card or something.

It is a fantastic step forward that African Americans have shattered their glass ceiling, but it is a saddening one that it could not be something done alongside women’s rights, but at the expense of them as sexism was mobilised as a tactic to do so.

I hope too that the quid pro quo of Obama being elected for the bone of gay marriage being defeated at the ballot is not indicative of others’ rights being sacrificed for a nobler or loftier goal. We could and should be working to uplift all of us, not stepping on the backs of each other to uplift one, whether he is The One or not.

illegal campaign contributions
voter fraud and ACORN
vote suppression in swing states controlled by Dems

the repubs and the media will PROBABLY lay off of digging into personal stuff like they did to the Clintons, because they are afraid of being called RACIST!

I read a thread yesterday that broke down the votes according to categories.

In a nutshell, they said it was the Evangelical clergy who didn’t turn out their base for McCain.

Remember, Obama threw them a bone this summer when he said he would continue Bush’s religious outreach programs.

Also, they said there were backroom deals done by the Obama campaign with other factions. Remember Obama even got support from that gun manufacturer Cooper.

Who know how many deals were brokered? We’ll find out when we see where the bones are thrown.

“So I dont expect to be hearing that Michelle Obama had Rahm Emmanuel killed because she is having an affair with him and is a lesbian”.

Oh Lord, that would make my day!!! It would make an incredibly funny internet rumor.

Birth Certificate

The Birth Certificate issue may have some chance of success for challenging the electorial votes at the STATE level instead of the federal level. I have one remaining question about the BC on file in Hawaii that I have submitted to them for response. Maybe someone already knows and could tell me. Does the State of Hawaii maintain vital records for people actually born outside of the state?

The key being that the press releases validate it’s existance but still do not establish place of birth.

Thank You for posting this. I have always said that Hillary was not my savior but my hero. She has done so much good for women and mankind in general that I can’t and won’t give up on her. I know that there is another chapter in the book for her. She still as many goods things to come. Maybe the title of Ms. President is not as important as getting some of her goals accomplished. There are people who believe that there are somethings that are bigger than themselves.

If you must lay off employees in 2009

As a Business owner who employs 30 people, I have resigned myself to The fact that Barack Obama will be our next President, and that my Taxes and Fees will go up in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that our customers will Have to see an increase in my fees of about 8%. I will also have to Lay off six of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we Are family here and didn’t know how to choose who will have to go. So, This is what I did.

I strolled thru the parking lot and found eight Obama bumper stickers on my employees’ cars. I have decided these Folks will be the first to be laid off.

I can’t think of more fair way to approach this problem. If you have a Better idea, let me know. I am sending this letter to all business owners that I know.

I got this in an email……I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT IDEA!!

WYR1961,

Who wrote that book, Odd Girl Out? I don’t think I want to read it though. I found out 20 years later that I didn’t make the cheerleading squad because the woman hated my mother. That was ok, I stayed a nerd with round black glasses and got 2 college degrees. I may have gotten pregnant by a football player and turned into a pill popper if I had made the squad…….

In a recent post by Murphy she identified us as EX partisans. Having a sleepless night, still getting over this fiasco of an election, it came to me that the phrase ULTRA partisan is better for me. The EX implies being left out..the ULTRA imples being above and overseeing.

Have also pondered a great deal on how we can move ahead as PUMAS. How can we concentrate our energies and consolidate with other like minded groups to make an impact in the next election. I don’t know if I will ever feel the same about the Dems and I cannot forsee voting for Precious in 4 years. Pretty sure Hillary won’t run. So is the answer to allow ourselves to make alliances with some moderate Repubs? I have found they are not all gay hating, right wing conservatives trying to take away all our rights and destroy the environment…which is the impression most of my friends have. I think we can make alliances with those who we once were in opposition to…and add in the mix others like Independents, Ron Paul’s followers, Nadar, Green party…WHOEVER is out there who isn’t married to one of the entrenched D’s or R’s. And in time I think there will plenty of disenchanted Obots to recruit from.

I wish a THIRD party candidate was a viable option and we could call it the Equal Rights Party….but with the Electoral College system in place, it seems to me there never would be a chance to win an election… INFLUENCE an election as a powerful voting block, YES…that seems plausible and doable. But obviously we didn’t have quite the numbers to pull this one out.

Then there is matter of my personal feelings around this election cycle. I have decided I don’t want all my time taken up with negative thoughts about someone I have come to detest. Funny, even though I didn’t vote for Bush and came to dislike him and his arrogance..I always had some itsy bitsy modicum of respect….even though I am glad to see him go. Not so with this one going into office. I have not one grain of respect for him and his Chicago thuggery style. I will never consider him my President.

I have thought about just walking away from any attention or activism and get on with my life. But I don’t want to run away again as I did after JFK, MLK, and RFK were asassinated.
Giving away my age…I was 11 when I had the opportunity to shake hands with JFK….I remember being so proud that day. I went on to ignore politics for years until this year really. So I figure there is a reason I am so involved emotionally.

After years of not caring, I finally recaptured that feeling of having a HERO…first it was Hillary who I do feel has let me down. Then it was McCain and especially Palin… but they have been forced off the stage. I think right now many of us have lost our heroes…Hillary, Palin…the Dems…so we have to be OUR OWN HEROES!!!

I DO want to keep a watchful eye on this admin and congress. I have decided that starting today I will begin a journal. For the next two years..I want to note 2 things each day regarding this upcoming admin and Congress that I view as negative or disagree with and CHALLENGE MYSELF to try to be objective and note 2 things I might agree with or see as positive.. this list will probably be much shorter !!!!!

I will take note of where my hard earned savings are in two years…having tanked over this last year. I will be a watchdog to protect our individual freedoms and rights. I will
challenge a Federal excise tax if I see it go up on one of my utility bills. I will research and vote for my mutual fund managers according to their record instead of throwing the proxy voting material in the trash, as I have always done. I will keep my own finances in order …as I have always done. I will write my represetnatives and Senators when I think they are going to vote in a manner that is not in my best interest or the best interest of this country. I will do the Prowls…I will help recruit PUMAS…I WILL BE INVOLVED…..because this may be my last chance to save our country from TRYANNY….and I see it headed our way.

LOVE to ALL the PUMAS!!!

I just have to go on with my life. This is too consuming, frustrating and repetitious. No offense to anyone, this is just not what I signed on for when I came to help get Hillary on the ballot. Hillary left us and now I must leave. I wish her all the success in life and I am certain she will go on to do great and wonderful things for this country. As disappointed as I was in her I could never stop admiring her for what she has done. Many people disappoint us in our lives, but we don’t have to eliminated them. Bill and Hill will always remain the best of the best to me. I heard she is being considered Secretary of State. Good for her! Murphy you are the best, be sure to take time for your family and friends. Enjoy life…the holidays are approaching, don’t let this prevent you from taking the time to appreciate what we do have in life to be thankful for. My best to all PUMAs.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Joe Lieberman’s affiliation with Democrats was in question after a meeting Thursday with Majority Leader Harry Reid, steamed over the Connecticut independent’s high-profile support of John McCain for president.

Reid, in a sternly worded statement after the 45-minute meeting, said no official decisions have been made. But an aide to the Nevada Democrat said Reid was leaning toward removing Lieberman as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions were confidential.

“While I understand that Sen. Lieberman has voted with Democrats a majority of the time, his comments and actions have raised serious concerns among many in our caucus,” Reid said.

Rebirth, because you revived all the dying passions of the American citizens political apathy and their feelings of futility.
You started a fire under their fatigue and created an explosion of energy that will not die soon!
Well at least 2.7 million Pumas, who did the protest vote, will purchase your book. :)

You’re not paying attention to the details of my post. It has nothing to do with the Berg case so much as what Andy Martin was saying from a legal argument standpoint. It made a lot of sense.

We have to get access to the radio archive of that show but NONE of the archive links for it work properly — they redirect to the current show instead of the archived one.

Take a look at this transcript information of the show… but it would really help if everyone could hear the show itself.

Ok don’t know if anybody read my post 112 but if anybody did this is what i was talking about (i said I would try to find what I was talking about at the end with the experiment with the credit card.
The essay recounts how journalist Neil Munro bought two prepaid American Express gift cards worth $25 each to donate to the Obama and McCain campaigns online.

Munro bought the cards with cash and then accessed the campaigns’ Web sites from a public library in Fairfax, Va.

The Obama campaign’s site accepted the $25 donation, but the McCain campaign’s site rejected it.

When the National Journal contacted the McCain campaign, a representative explained that its system rejected the donation because American Express could not verify that the donor lived at the address given with the online contribution.

In turn, the Obama campaign replied by e-mail: “Name-matching is not a standard check conducted or made available in the credit card processing industry. We believe Visa and MasterCard do not even have the ability to do this.”

The idea is that we put a fire in the Republican representatives who make up the Electoral College vote… to demand they challenge and stand up to the Dem opposition to see the birth certificate. If the public demands they do their job… this may work.

Why are we shying away from this fight when it was an extremely legitimate argument. It’s when we fail to act and do nothing that Obama wins. He has his legal opposition fighting Berg for this very reason… so we get too tired and give up on the issue… but the Electoral College is an avenue he won’t be counting on us hitting.

Please keep an open mind and let’s investigate this.

Zee #605 (umm from dowstairs, right?)

Axel, why didn’t you just say so?

Why are you posting links to 9/11 sites? For all I knew, you were praising Berg for defending that.

Heaven knows when I warned people here not to read or use Corsi as a source, I didn’t link to all his conspiracy nuttery! I didn’t beat about the bush. I just said don’t trust Corsi because he invented that fake “amero” scare story when trying to sell a theory that the dollar was going to be replaced by a multinational currency.

You posted a link to a 9/11 nut theory and asked what we thought. It was not clear whether you were disparaging or praising Berg.
______________

Zee #608 (too)

Oh, and thanks, Axel.

I do know Andy Martin’s a nut. He had this entire thing on how Obama doesn’t have enough African blood to qualify as AA, that he was mostly Arab and that his father was the last generation to qualify as AA.

I mean, hello! Obama Sr. was African, not American! So regardless of make-up he could never be AA! Dumb stuff.
______________

Thanks for a levelheaded reply, zee.

Maybe I really wasn’t clear enough in that particular post, but is I said before: Pumas, bash me if you wish, but I‘m not here to fight against you, but to present a skeptical, yet impartial viewpoint.

I very pro-choice by all means: I do believe that citizens deserve a right to chose between more than only two political options. I would certainly fight for that, if I’d be US citizen.

I would now, while the election battle-fog is slowly disappearing, advice a thorough consideration about allies. You don’t need to be overly picky about them in the peak of the battle, but after that…

NO, DO NOT GET RID OF YOUR CABLE.

I do have cable and DirecTV, but I also have a few sets on antennae. I did buy the DTV converters and this is what it looks like – only worse.

http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ0BnZ0WRqg

DTV test; Wilmington NC

I am only about 20 miles west of Chicago so I would have expected better. The picture freezes, the sound does not match the picture and if you tape, you can timer set tape, you can only tape one channel at a time. You cannot tape on one channel and watch another. Bottom line: it is awful. It is not worth the irritation, IMO.

From American Spectator today
UNPRECEDENTED AND SECRETIVE
Lost amid all of the jubilation of the Obama victory was the announcement by the Obama transition team that it had set up a separate transition program beyond the one that is paid for by the American taxpayer. Called the “Obama/Biden Transition Project,” it is a 501(c)4 tax-exempt organization, with no limits on the contributions it can receive and no requirements to divulge the names of individuals or organizations that give it money.

Traditionally, the victorious campaign has set up inaugural funds, as well as funds to deal with legal costs and other expenses to close down the campaign. Others have set up quasi-corporate offices to deal with transition issues, such as in 2000, when, with the election in doubt, the Bush-Cheney team set up a private transition office in McLean, Virginia, covering the costs from campaign contributions and other fundraising. Ultimately, the federal government, headed by the Government Services Administration, covers the cost of the transition staff, providing it with office space and all equipment.

No one is certain that any political organization has ever set up a tax-exempt entity that would be shrouded in such secrecy, particularly when Obama claimed he would be more transparent about the way things were done.

“To my knowledge, it’s never been done, and people should be asking why the Obama people chose to do it this way,” says a longtime Washington Republican, who has been involved in transitions for the Reagan and Bush campaign teams.

Take a look at this transcript information of a radio show from last night — it would really help if everyone could hear the show itself but I’m having trouble finding an archive link that works. The current archive links provided on the countusout link (further below) doesn’t lead to the proper show.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2127721/posts

The idea is that we put a fire in the Republican representatives who make up the Electoral College vote — to demand they challenge and stand up to the Dem opposition to see the birth certificate. If the public demands they do their job — this may work. The important language to use is that they do their job as the “original intent” of our founding fathers (as explained in above link).

We should not shy away from this fight on the idea that the birth certificate has lead no where. It is an extremely legitimate and credible argument when you hear the radio interview unfold. It’s when we fail to act and do nothing that Obama wins. He has his legal opposition fighting Berg and Martin for this very reason — so we get too tired and give up on the issue — but the Electoral College is an avenue he won’t be counting on us hitting.

Please keep an open mind and let’s investigate this.

I’m at work right now and can’t make the calls but it was a 212 number for the HillPac headquarters… try going to google and search for Hillary Clinton’s senate website… then look for the contact information… call the New York headquarters number and they can refer you to the correct HillPac number for the refunds. That was how I found out.

To all PUMAs who want a new party to form, there is a movement on. It is in the very very early formative stages, and with one of the explorers being Lynn Forester de Rothschild. I have been corresponding with her, and she wants input from others who are interesed.

For those who don’t know, Lynn is the campaign fundraiser for Hillary who ver publically refused to support Obama, then endorsed John McCain. She can be reached at lyn@together4us.com.

I think it would be benneficial for all of us who want this PUMA movement to move forward to at least consider joining up with others who are like minded. It does not matter who is in the lead of this movement, as long as we keep moving forward. We all have a role to play in the creating a better country through our political system. This little blog is filled with great informantion and members who can think. I would like to see us all embrace others who need our information, skill, and desire to change the world. There are millions of us out there, and if we find each other, we can do a great deal of good.

MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.
SCARBOROUGH: Your job is the make this presidency work?
MATTHEWS: To make this work successfully. This country needs a successful presidency.

Matthews is exactly right. As strongly as the media worked for the Obama cause and ensured his election, they worked just as strongly to villify President Bush to ensure his failure. It should be evident to everyone that the media has been dictating public opinion. Facts are just a distraction.

Just popping in today to share a story about a friend this morn. She was jumped yesterday by three AA males, thank God they only scared her. She was taken behind a fence by the three men, they threw her to the ground and told her it was their turn. That all whitey’s were going to be killed. Then they let her go, thankfully. When speaking to the police about the incident, they told her to be careful that there had been other reports, others being threaten in different areas of NYC.

Today a co-worker (of her husbands) and major BO supporter had a group of AA men threaten him on the way to work. They surrounded his car, telling him he would die. They ruled things now and whites will die. He is now upset about his support for BO. He is scared.

Another friend told me in her daughters high school they are doing the Obama chant in the halls. And shouting to round up the ‘crackers’ and put them all in jail. Black teens tell the others, that they will no longer be jailed for crimes. Its the white mans turn.

I was told by a close AA friend (bo supporter) here, if Obama wins, get a gun. She sees what is coming and fears for her non-black friends.

I am not trying to alarm anyone but please PUMAs becareful.

mzebest #155: There’s also a third party VP candidate who has a suit against Obama to furnish his COLB. I can’t remember the candidate’s name.

Actually, if the Supreme Court says, incorrectly, that Berg doesn’t have standing, then they will have a harder time denying that this VP candidate doesn’t have standing.

I personally feel, since Obama has sealed his college transcripts, his birth records, thesis, etc., that he certainly appears to have something to hide. Nobody goes to those extremes for nothing.

This should be settled now, before he is inaugurated.

I seems awfully odd that the day he went to Hawaii last week, to visit his grandmother, the State of Hawaii has said they sealed his birth records.

Speaking of his grandmother, Obama said yesterday he will visit Hawaii in December to honor his grandmother. Isn’t he going to her funeral?

You can try to restore your computer.

http://www.ehow.com/how_2072039_computer-system-using-windows-xp.html

You can use System Restore to undo harmful changes to your computer and restore it’s settings and performance. System Restore returns your computer to an earlier time (called restore point) without causing you to loose recent work, such as saved documents, or e-mail, or history or favorites lists. Any changes that System Restore makes to your computer are completely reversible. Your computer automatically creates restore points (called system checkpoints), but you can also use System Restore to create your own restore points. This is useful if you are about to make a major change to your system, such as installing a new program or changing your registry.

ChristineRI, although I agree with you that the media is the root of our problem, I cant agree that the media only worked to vilify bush.

remember Judith Miller?
remember WMD?
remember Abu Graib?
remember FISA?
remember the Patriot Act?

the media failed just as shamefully at NOT doing their job and acting like a propaganda arm of the white house under bush as they will under obama.

Left Blogistan is where Bush Hatred was whipped up into a frenzy. Not the msm. The Bush HATERS also HATED the msm for enabling him.

Blind Hatred is stupid and harmful for bloggers to perpetuate, but Blind LOYALTY by the so-called free press is MUCH worse for democracy.

they did it under Bush and they’ll do it under Obama.

we dont need more Hate Machine Blogs. We need free-press-blogs.

Chris Matthews is just stating what we all have know for the enitre election season and that is Senator Obama is not experienced enough to run this country. He was/is just a pwan for Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the liberal DEMS, they wanted the power of the Wh back in their court. Matthews wants to save face just in case the next four years are hopelessly another despair for the country because he and the rest of the liberal media placed Obama in the WH. Obama said there would be change yet he is using the same people that the Clintons used there will not be any change only the changes that they have already started to make because he made to many ridiculous promises. The good thing is if he is only a four year president we will be rid of him. That brings me peace and joy. Happy Friday Pumas!

#21 Atypical – I share the same views of the post. I’m very disappointed that both Clintons came out and full swing and campaigned hard for Obama. Feedbacks I received from the undecided Democrats in my circles, they followed Hillary and Bill’s leads. They said they don’t really feel comfortable with Obama but because Hillary and Bill were out campaigning for him, they will do what both of them asked. Sigh….I’m really tired of listening to their excuses. I got an e-mail from a friend in California last night and he said that within 2 weeks there will be unprecedented news about Obama about what he’s been hiding. I am not putting too much into this but will leave the possibility open. If there’s any truth to this, I’ll disclose the rest of his remarks.

January 20, 2009 is still a long way off…..a lot can happen between now and then.

So Bo is not experienced why bring that up WE KNOW HE IS INEXPERIENCED,UNQUALIFIED, do we actually think the people that voted for him care any more now then they did then, and do you think they are looking at his ‘CHANGE’ when he is using Clinton’s staff? A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY WAS CONTRIBUTED TO PUT THIS MAN IN OFFICE he is their puppet on a string, ( whoever) or (whomever) is holding the strings will be running this country.I am sorry I do not mean to yell but I am not over this selection yet.

mzebest #180: I read your post on the Electoral but I think we should keep all our avenues open to get to the bottom of his being a natural born US citizen.

As far as the State of Hawaii sealing O’s birth records being a rumor, read this:

HONOLULU, Hawaii – Although the legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama’s birth certificate has become a focus of intense speculation – and even several lawsuits – WND has learned that Hawaii’s Gov. Linda Lingle has placed the candidate’s birth certificate under seal and instructed the state’s Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.

The governor’s office officially declined a request made in writing by WND in Hawaii to obtain a copy of the hospital-generated original birth certificate of Barack Obama.

Why didn’t Hawaii release O’s records when requested by the Freedom of Information Act and under other statutes?

The only proper party the state seems to acknowledge is Obama.

204

Grizzly 11.07.08 at 12:14 pm

While I can understand the feelings of Lynette Long toward Hillary, I cannot say that I agree with her. Yes, Hillary did campaign for Obama, and no doubt she delivered millions of votes. But we do not know her reasons. Granted, there is partisan politics that came into play – something I absolutely detest in both parties. But we have no idea what backroom deals were made, and I firmly believe that Hillary would not do what she did without something in return. We will have to wait and see on that front.

In my mind, there are 3 primary factors that were in play leading to an Obama win:
1. George Bush
2. Obama’s Campaign
3. McCain’s Campaign.

Note that Hillary is not among those top factors.

George Bush. Let’s face it, the media did one hell of a job over the last 8 years in turning Bush’s tenure into a vehicle of hate. The reactions of people toward Bush were made visceral, not just rational. Any good the man did was wiped away by the vitriolic hyperbole that whipped the voters into a frothy recipe of outright disdain. The voters were transformed from rational human beings into a vengeful mob armed with pitchforks and torches hell bent on destroying the political Frankenstein monster that they were convinced was haunting and hunting them.

Bush himself unfortunately played right into this manufactured image. The “my way or the highway” approach, the “we don’t need your help” philosophy, and the departure from his own base and their ensuing alienation created an electorate of all political persuasions ready to scrub clean any possible hint of another 8 years of George Bush. While the circumstances are vastly different, the climate for change was eerily similar to that created following the Nixon Administration.

The Obama Campaign. Lie, cheat, steal. Spend, spend and spend. “Riding dirty”, as Jeremiah Wright might say, was the way toward victory. Character, a big issue in all presidential elections, was taken out of the election equation. Obama’s greatest asset was perhaps his lack of a record or a history. His campaign managed to keep his identity a secret, to keep his status as an unknown cipher in tact. And the lid on his past was tightly sealed by playing the race card at every hint of a question about his past. He co-opted the MSM, and managed to turn them into a branch of his political campaign.

It was a campaign following the Alinsky and Karl Marx playbook -deception and manipulation. Turning lies into truths and truths into lies. In normal times, I believe the electorate would not have bought into this to any great degree, but the Bush effect created the necessary smokescreen. Amazing.

Money was indeed an object. Obama’s $600 million buried the paltry $84 million McCain had to spend.

The McCain Campaign. Running perhaps the worst presidential campaign I have seen in my lifetime, McCain seemed hell bent on losing the election. In retrospect, it seems that he lost on purpose.

Watching the Republican primary debates, McCain was ruthless in his attacks on his closest competitor, Mitt Romney. He was unmerciful in his attacks and showed no degree of honor nor restraint in the ads he ran against him, or in the way they were run. He saved the most vicious for just before the primary, eliminating any chance for Romney to counter the claims. That approach was a distant memory in his run against Obama.

McCain exhorted his supporters to “fight, fight, fight!”, yet refused to take off his own gloves.

The missteps by McCain were legion. First, he inexplicable hired a campaign guru to run his campaign. I believe the guy’s name was McCormick. The guy was a marvel at steering the McCain ship during the primary. Just one problem: McCormick had made it very clear that he was an Obot and would not stay with McCain if Obama were the GOP nominee. And true to his word, McCormick beat a hasty retreat after Obama secured the Democrat nomination. McCain had no effective backup to speak of, so when he was forced to change horses in midstream, he jumped on a nag saved from the glue factory.

McCain never tried to make nice with the conservative base. never.

His selection of Palin did rally the troops, but his team totally botched handling her. Rather than let Palin be Palin, they immediately tried to change her – by bringing in handlers from the Bush White House. They threw her to the wolves by scheduling her first public interviews with ABC and CBS – what in the hell were they thinking????

The way he handled the economic crisis was a joke. Suspending his campaign? In addition to allowing Obama to run virtually unopposed during that time by pulling all of his ads off the air, the scripting of his move was the epitome of hollow grandstanding. He danced to the Democrats tune, and played right into their pocket.

And McCain never seemed to have a coherent game plan. He allowed Obama to paint him as the second coming of George Bush without response. While he did bring it up in the final debate, months of Obama’s pounding home that message were not going to be impacted to any great degree by a weak retort in a debate. And it was weak – he had a golden opportunity here – to both get his point across and tie Jeremiah Wright back into the forefront as a campaign issue. Obama’s attempt to connect McCain to Bush was less of an issue than Obama’s connection to Wright. You can pick your own pastor, but the people pick the president. McCain could have countered that Obama’s attacks were reminiscent of the connections between Obama and Wright (or Ayers, or Farrakhan,,,), to which Obama had strongly objected.

There are many other examples, but suffice it to say, McCain blew it. Big time.

There are some major reasons we are where we are, but Hillary is not among them. We should all remember that.

I feel exactly the same way as this person. I have stayed off the blog for all the Hillary bashing, blaming her for Obie winning. All the people bashing PUMAs for voting for any Dems down ticket…..on and on.

As far as Lynette’s post is concerned (As much as I have used the info in her caucus website more than anything else to defeat BO and I truely respect her and her cause)…

I have to ask you….

When Lynette was on tv before the general election, why did she only talk of sexism and not even bring up the caucus fraud she researched so well? She forgot about it, or she didn’t think it was worth mentioning?

Sexism is a huge problem, we all know it and most of us have lived with it and will continue to fight it’s abuse……but when did it become more important than voting fraud in the US? Voting fraud and ACORN destroy our right to vote and have that vote counted.

Grizzly #204: While I agree McCain’s and Obama’s campaigns contributed to Obama’s win, I disagree with your assessment of Bush.

Bush, Cheyney and the Administration, manipulated and pressured the media, twisted the intelligence and manufactured the WMD threat by Iraq.

Any villifying of Bush, et al., is well deserved. They’ve put our country in a Catch 22 in the Middle East, depleted our military, causing death and casualities of them and failed to keep their eye on the prize: bin Laden.

We had bin Laden on the run in 2002. If we had focused solely on getting him, we would have succeeded and the country would not be in the mess or defense dept. debt in which we now find ourselves.

Oh, what might have been.

I am sure that there were women who told Susan B. Anthony to let it go, spend time with your family, “they will always win”. Thank God she did not listen to them.

I say, let the puma’s go. Those of us who are left need to put a coalition of people who have been tossed aside by our party, regroup and take this coun try back in 2012. I would love it to be Hillary, but we will have to wait and see.

I thoink that we must reach out to the Gay and Lesbian community because we are both tossed around like a football every four years!

The DNC must add gay marriage to their platform, They must stop this game that they play every four years. How many women have been mentioned regarding BO’s cabinet? One, CK. Give me a break. There are new issues that we can work on. Let’s solidify and focus.

We need numbers, like BO. I am so pissed that the AA community bulldozed prop 8, and I am not gay. These are American citizens who pay taxes, spill blood for their country they need to be called out, because they will be back looking for votes in 2012.T he gay community will not be there, I promise you. Let’s unite.

The first of the challenges thrown at the President-elect, who received his first national security intelligence briefing yesterday, came from the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

He threatened to base warheads along the Polish border if Obama goes ahead with a Bush administration plan to create a missile shield in Eastern Europe.

Then Israel warned Obama last night that his claim that he was ready to open talks with Iran could be seen in the Middle East as a sign of weakness.

Furthermore, Afghanistan’s president Hamid Karzai demanded that Obama ‘put an end to civilian casualties’ by changing U.S. military tactics to avoid airstrikes in the war on the Taliban. He spoke out after seven wedding party guests were accidentally killed by an American airstrike.

“Bush, Cheyney and the Administration, manipulated and pressured the media, twisted the intelligence and manufactured the WMD threat by Iraq.”

****************************************

You are making my point for me. Do you have hard proof of those accusations? Let’s not firget George Tenent was head of the CIA and was a holdover trom the Clinton Administration. As I recall, he was “positive” there were WMD in Iraq.

While no one whats to address it, our intelligce agencies were abysmal.

As for Bush having any ability to “pressure” the media, I just did not and do not see it.

Let’s face it, both parties played politics with the issue. Congress had access to the same intelligence info the Administration had, and reached the same conclusion. On the WMD issue, rather than admit our intell sources sucked, it was much more politically expedient to blame the opposition.

Which brings up an interesting point about Obama – he says he was against the war. But, and this is a big question, would he still have held that belief if he had access to the same information that Democrats in COngress had? Don’t forget, even they were convinced of the situation in Iraq. If Obama would still have opposed the war, it raises a serious question regarding his judgment (another blown opportunity for MCCain). And if he did have access tot eh same info and that would have changed his mind, his “opposition” to the war was nothing more than grandstanding and political theater.

I want to suggest that PUMA starts going for the throat of corporate media now. Enough licking our wounds. Here is my suggestion. We join up with the cable choice movement. Yes you will find that many involved with this movement could not pass a liberal ideal purity test. But this is how you get a free market and consumer rights in media. I encourage you all to go to this web site as a first exercise. It is called How cable should be and it lets you uncheck the channels on the basic cable list that you don’t want and then it tallies your bill. We need to kick media in the teeth by pushing consumer rights hard. We do not need to reinvent this wheel there is already a big movement,of course you won’t hear about it on TV.

I’ve been screaming for this for awhile now. Paying for 70 or more cable channels when you only watch less than 10 is crazy. Plus my cable channel keeps deleting the stations I watch, first the BBCA gone, then C-span2. That leaves me C-span1, History channel and a couple shopping channels. I don’t think McCain blew his opportunities just as Hillary his hands were tied when he tried to come at Obama—racism was declared. He and Hillary did not have a chance because of this. How can you fight an even battle if you have the media, money, and racism against you. All and all he did the best he could under the circumstances IMO. There is no way Obama could have taken these two powerhouses(Hillary/Mccain) down without playing a dirty game and that he and his campaign did so openly.

According to a complaint later filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac, known formally as the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002.

Emanuel was not named in the SEC complaint (click here to read) but the entire board was later accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) (click here to read) of having “failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention.”

I agree that Hillary Clinton gave up and allowed the DNC to use her shamelessly to put that fraud in the White House. She should have stood her ground and fought, not tucked her tail and been a “good girl.” But, she’s a politician, not a hero, so perhaps expecting her to throw her career away to do the brave thing is unrealistic. She let us and herself down, but I’m not surprised. I think she was in shock. Plus, I don’t think she had a clue as to the real depth of the misogyny in this country. She’s been shielded from a lot of it, by her position as Bill Clinton’s wife, her own political position, and her money. Only when she got uppity enough to expect to actually run this country, did the true hatred for her and all strong women come out. It’s still okay, even celebrated, in this country and around the world, to express contempt for all things female. Unless, of course, the females are wanted for sexual reasons or grunge work. As body parts for male pleasure, and cheap labor for the thankless jobs in life, we’re much valued. Until we get uppity and expect to be regarded as fully human. Maybe Hillary needs some healing time, to lick her wounds and gain a new perspective on the place of women in this country. Maybe she has a comeback in her yet, but not with the established parties, who have nothing to offer women but false promises and being used for votes. She needs to become PUMA.

Grizzly #232: Bush and his Administration did pressure the media, it came out in Scott McClellan’s book and was confirmed by various reporters who were on the receiving end of that pressure.

As far as not having evidence that Bush and his Admin misled the public and using Tenet as the fall guy, read this:

In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003. Not surprisingly, the officials with the most opportunities to make speeches, grant media interviews, and otherwise frame the public debate also made the most false statements, according to this first-ever analysis of the entire body of prewar rhetoric.

President Bush, for example, made 232 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and another 28 false statements about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Secretary of State Powell had the second-highest total in the two-year period, with 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Rumsfeld and Fleischer each made 109 false statements, followed by Wolfowitz (with 85), Rice (with 56), Cheney (with 48), and McClellan (with 14).

The massive database at the heart of this project juxtaposes what President Bush and these seven top officials were saying for public consumption against what was known, or should have been known, on a day-to-day basis. This fully searchable database includes the public statements, drawn from both primary sources (such as official transcripts) and secondary sources (chiefly major news organizations) over the two years beginning on September 11, 2001. It also interlaces relevant information from more than 25 government reports, books, articles, speeches, and interviews.

This is the link: http://projects.publicintegrity.org/WarCard/

Also there were the Downing Street memos.

You’re being so defensive of Bush, are you a Republican?

She may have taken beatings, but they were not of this nature, of the pure contempt and ridicule of her as a person, simply because she’s female. She was a Clinton, she was a Democrat, she supported national health care, and so on. Those were political beatings. The way she was treated this time around was different, and had nothing to do with politics. It had to do with her being a woman, period. Being denigrated for the very essence of who you are–whether it be female, black, gay–is especially hurtful. I can understand the instinct to curl up and protect yourself, which is what I think she is doing, even if I might not react that way myself.

As far as anyone investigating this election and the election fraud, phony donations, etc. there will be a whole host of quickie lightweight books come out but no in depth investigation. PUMAbear 11.07.08 at 1:20 pm

Our Brave New World
Good morning Pumas,
Over these many months of the bitter presidential campaign season my thoughts have been have been slowly molded from shapeless worries into formed beliefs. I believe that Aldous Huxley’s brave new world is not just coming. It’s here. I don’t like letting myself go to this dark place but I feel I must. You will see that now I am not using the terms “Democratic Party” or “democratic party”, just Party. Now that the campaigns are over, and McCain swept away like trash after a party, there will be NO criticism of “The One” from any source. OBozo is now the de facto dictator of the civil rights movement, African-American politicians, DNC, executive and legislative branches of government, the national press. Soon a national “crisis” will occur, requiring ever increasing levels of loyalty and self-sacrifice. OBozo will use the crisis to break ALL of his promises. All Pumas already know this.
We don’t have to look very far back in history or very far afield to see the results when a formerly “benign” ideology runs amok, a cult of the leader takes control and the masses line up behind him. I just didn’t see it coming in a Party I have always believed was the “good guy” looking out for the “little guy” against the forces of capitalistic evil. For a long time I think the Party was the “good guy”, under FDR, under Jimmy Carter, the Clinton administration and the Kennedys. But a wise old Greek once said of tyrants: power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We now have the perfect storm for the unthinkable to occur: soulless, charismatic Obama, with his “biracial”, chameleon identity and empty slogans, financial control of all media, support from the “intellectual” class, a huge robot squad of unthinking fascist thugs fueled by resentments, raising the stakes for new levels of racism, sexism and class warfare. Now there is the added twist of control through the communication highway of the internet. If I remember my Orwell, Animal Farm, and 1984 also had a few cautionary examples of this totalitarian mentality.
What do the “Obama vision” and the “Obama Nation” have in common with all of the “isms” that take over the world?
1. Messianic messages (He’s the One) “The One” is everywhere and always on. He is constantly talked about and constantly praised.
2. A cult of personality (a “no-fault” biography and personality, continuous reshaping of the biography)
3. Top down control of the organization from the leader and his apparatchiks (Obama and Pelosi)
4. “Grass roots “ control by party faithful (community organizing)
5. Female subjugation and degradation
6. Erasing and reinventing history (the successes of the Clinton administration)
7. Rewards and punishments dispensed on the basis of “loyalty”.
8. Manipulation of news and control of “talking points”
9. Youth indoctrinated to worship the leader through songs, chants, camps, etc.
10. National “youth” movements.
11. Infiltration of “subversive” movements (ours) by trolls, turncoats and operatives
12. Dissenting voices silenced or ignored by a complicit press. Internal exile.
13. Disinformation campaigns, false information and no information
14. Internal security organization (Obama’s vision). Eavesdropping and wiretapping(FISA)
15. Obligatory community service
16. State power, e.g. the IRS, government agencies, used against resisters and complainers (Joe the Plumber).
17. Constant public denunciation and ridicule of the “other” (Hillary and Sarah Palin)
18. Opponents offered or bullied into “re-education” and acceptance
19. Nay-sayers, especially women, decried as mentally ill or bitter and whacky.
20. Maintaining data and files on “enemies” through opinion poll collection, donation data, membership lists. (Obama probably uses Hillary’s website to gather information).
21. Disrespect and intimidation of “older” people and their values
22. Never explain, never apologize. Always deny. Always change the subject. Always accuse.

We have all seen abundant evidence of these tendencies. Note: Party officials now advocate doing away with primary elections. Well funded candidates will be selected by the Party and run unopposed.

Well, enough said. What to do about this? First, we must fight back, and we are. It was women, the great mass of middle-of-the-road women, women who fought for Hillary, that capitulated to trumped up fears of a Republican Party and handed over their power to the so-called dems. We are the majority, but we could not convince enough of us to not “get over it.”

I think a certain amount of anonymity, especially, when alone and in public, is in order so we won’t be attacked and victimized as GBPuma was. Remember, in the movie, “The Body Snatchers”? People who had not been “invaded” learned to pretend to be “normal” in order to prevent forcible takeover. As individuals, we may sometimes need to keep our heads down and our eyes open. But we strike when we can but the battle may be longer and tougher than we think.

Finally, we will all do what we can and try to grow our movement. We are doing that by making specific plans for action. I’m ready to dry my eyes and make a fist.

Just a thought.

Griffin: There is no deep well of misogyny in this country. Misogyny is the norm in the Democrat party, on the corporate media and in the big cities of the East Coast. It is not a way of life in the pacific northwest or the midwest. We in Washington (yes there is a Washington state) are stunned at the misogyny we see and we have never seen anything like it. In WA we have a female Governor, two women federal Senators and our state supreme court is mostly female and no one even needs to bring it up. What is truly amazing is the way the East coast just assumes they are far ahead of everyone in acceptance of women in leadership roles when in fact they lag far behind. Unfortunately our Washington airwaves are polluted with New York and WaDC misogyny.

BigCatLover that is why we have to bring it to them not let to much time go by , don’t give BO more time to cover his tracks like he did with his BC. Up until Nov 3rd they were talking about voter fraud and even illegal donations and him not showing donor list it’s still out there still fresh on their minds. We need to find the ones who will look into what is being put out there to them and make them talk about it.

“You’re being so defensive of Bush, are you a Republican?”
*********************************

Indy

Scott McClellan a reliable source? Give me a friggin break.

I am not being defensive about Bush – I am trying to point out that the media’s role in villifying Bush helped to set up an Obama win. People developed an outright hatred of Bush, and it apppears you fall into that camp.

The man had and has more than his share of faults. And he brought much of the wrath on to himself. But Democrats also relied upon those same intell reports. Are they to be crucified as well? It is easy to say Bush lied, and attempt to absolve yourself of any responsibility in the matter, and it is certianly a more valuable political foil to wield than putting the blame where it belongs – on our intell services.

I am an independent, but if my views are so unwelcome here as to draw the hangover of kool aid drinking wrath, than I will bid you adieu. I got the impression that we were trying to be objective about issues here and take off the damn rose colored glasses. If that is no longer the objective, than I am obviously in the wrong place.

I have developed my views based on what I deem to be objective sources of information. I have done a lot of work to insure that objectivity trumps biased reporting. Yes, there are some things that surface in from one side that turn out to be legitimate. But I take the additional step of insuring that what is being said can be confirmed by independent sources with more objectivity.

You might want to try that sometime.

I hope when you guys interact with Boites you continue to tell them you look forward to all our service men and women being home in 16 months. We need to remind these people what BO promised and why they voted for them. The MSM won’t.

I honestly can’t answer how reliable the American Thinker is or how reliable your source would be. Perhaps others on the blog might know. I do know that the American thinker has cited other sources. It would be nice if we could get our hands on the complaint filed by McCain. Sorry I couldn’t help more.

Why don’t you guys suck it up and start to fight against Corporate media in a meaningful way? You see with the MSM you are dealing with men who only speak one language and it is called money. You must find a way to minimize the money that flows into their companies. Talking to them in English is a waste of time it would be like me posting in Russian. So speak money to them. Take their money away. Go to this web site and see what your bill would be if you only paid for the channels you want. Think of what would happen to MSNBC under these conditions.

Thank you so much for the link.

BTW, as for American Thinker. I’ve been visiting that sight fairly regularly for many months now. My opinion about the reliability of their info is that it’s variable. Somem of what they print is very well researched and provides references. Other stuff is very sloppy. You kind of have to go piece by piece. I always think a good rule of thumb to judge should include references, at the very least. Without that, it’s just someone spewing their thoughts in print without anything to back it up. It doesn’t mean they’re lying or exagerating, but if what someone’s saying is based on fact, they aught to provide supporting documentation. JMO.

Thanks again for the link to Mr. Scarborough.

Oh, not that you’re the Joe Scaborough expert (!), but do you happen to know the name of his show and the network he’s with? (Sorry, I don’t watch tv so other than a few of the big names, I have no frame of reference for most of these folks.)

#160 hebrew.que,

The number jenniforhillary gave me is 212-213-3717.
I called but they didn’t act like they were writing anything down. Said someone would get back to me as they were moving their office to D.C. I wrote a letter and have emailed through the comment section (donation inquiry) twice. I will not give up.
Has anyone who requested a refund received it? I thought I read someone had.

I sent a fax to several of her offices about two weeks ago,
then called and left a message at that same number, then Monday I called, got a live person and requested a full refund. She did ask for my name, address, phone etc. and then said someone would be contacting me in a few days. I told her the only contact I needed was a check in the mail.
Of course no one has called me.

I do recall Asian4hillary, I think it was, who said he/she
called earlier on and did receive a check.

Here is an explanation of cable choice. Please remember that this does not represent censorship since people would be free to order 50 channels of pornography (the liberal standard for freedom of speech) and pay for zero children’s channels if that is what they choose. What is wrong with people choosing their own channel content? Wouldn’t you like to delete and quit paying for MSNBC and CNN? Perhaps replace them with real news channels of your choosing?

I agree that Hillary delivered the presidency to bo on a ‘platinum platter’. Bill also helped.

Both of them could have made a few appearances for bo and left it at that. They put their party before their Country.

Both had said earlier that bo was not qualified to be President. That changed quickly.

Hillary and Bill gave passionate speeches about how “qualified” bo was. I will put up with a lot, but I will not tolerate being lied to.

I don’t believe bo will give Hillary a post in his administration. Has anyone heard her name mentioned? She
gave up her principles for nothing.

After not sleeping for four days before the election, I am now numb. I can’t remember a time when I have felt like this.
I don’t like it.

I know one thing for sure: the Democrats will never give a woman the chance to run for President. They are so sexist.
I don’t know much about the Republicans.

I know Sarah is being blamed for McCain losing. That is a real joke. She was the only light shinning during the campaign. She may decide she likes her life the way it is.
But, if she ever decides to run for President, I will be behind her all the way. Sarah Palin is the “real thing”.

It was the media that made it a gender and ethnic format and people
fed into that and that is exactly what they wanted.

I received mine and I’ve read a couple of other PUMA’s post that they also received their credits. It did take a few weeks (a good while) before the credit arrived.

Zee 11.07.08 at 2:31 pm

GBPuma!!

Thanks for your hard work and attention!

If you see this and if you have the ability, could you also check the totals this time against the totals in 2004? Two or three states so far have been reported as fewer people voting now than in 2004…maybe that is just because the totals aren’t in yet?

295

Zee 11.07.08 at 2:40 pm

indy, what Axel meant was that in the heat of battle it’s too hard to be picky about whom we associate with, but that now we can reject associations like this:
==============
mzebest 11.07.08 at 11:59 am
WE NEED TO BE A PART OF THIS
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2127721/posts
===============

Sorry, mzebest, not to single you out, but we most definitely don’t want to be part of free republic or Andy Martin. I know the Freepers praised PUMAs, but they have a very ugly history of harassment in other cases, not to mention they’re Libertarians. It also pains me to see PUMAs constantly linking to Atlas Shrugs, but I realize they are doing financial research.

But at this time we should be able to think out our associations more carefully. The last time I went to NoQuarter they were featuring the rantings of a poster who nonstop promoted Republican views and sites. He was claiming that a black voter “admitted” to CNN he’d voted more than once, when in fact the man had come back because the line had been too long in the morning, and CNN was the one joking with him about voting early and often, or twice, or something like that. It was obviously a joke and it does our cause no good to hype crap like that.

296

Zee 11.07.08 at 2:45 pm

SeattleGirl, 272

Obviously the country needs a lot more of the Western Women and Northwestern Women spirit!

297

Zee 11.07.08 at 3:03 pm

I agree with sly’s posts about following Obama’s money trail…and if we could do it without atlas shrugs and other rightwing sites, so much the better….and not to bash their work, but if we want this work to get noticed we need it to be from a more mainstream source.

I do believe in working alongside conservatives, as SeattleGirl has suggested with cable choice movement, it’s just that we need to acknowledge that we are working on a common goal and don’t embrace the rightwing worldview, or the common goal will be dismissed by many we need in the coalition.

And hebrew.que. my suggestion is you stop harassing Hillary. Barney Frank is one of the wiliest out there and always knows how to get a quote in on mainstream media. He holds town halls and speaks at LENGTH to his constituents. He explained in great detail what it takes to work within the narrow band of opportunity offered by the MSM. You can’t just get any agenda on the airwaves. Had Hillary spoken up we still would not have gotten her message. It would’ve been drowned in the shrieks of “poor loser!!!” and then we’d be where we are today, only without Hillary still standing.

298

CatBalu 11.07.08 at 4:16 pm

After watching the entire clip on MSNBOC, it seemed to me that Matthews was subdued and weirder than usual — possibly had a few drinks or a hangover when he said those things. And then when even Mika went a little nuts over it, I got the feeling Mika and Joe were saying to themselves through gritted teeth, “yes, it’s our job to make him look good — but we’re not supposed to say it out loud, Chris!”

Actually, all of this “appointing” BS is way premature. He’s really pushing it, and should be taking much more time to make contacts and deals, etc.

blondlady 11.07.08 at 5:31 pm

Grizzly – #204. I have to agree with almost all of what you said, but you didn’t go into the botched campaign that Hillary ran that gave BO the momentum he needed to surge ahead in the primary. I think Hillary relied too much on the loyalty of those who had so successfully managed Bill during his campaign and presidency. Several of them fell out and she tried to reorganize and redirect her campaign, but by then BO had that huge cash infusion and could not be stopped. Campaign management is the key to success.

301

Griffin 11.07.08 at 5:53 pm

Seattlegirl: Sorry, but I live in Washington, too, and I’ve seen plenty of misogyny here. Especially over this election. I moved here from the East Coast three years ago and from what I can see, people are no more open-minded here than they in any other part of the country.

302

Griffin 11.07.08 at 5:56 pm

Woodie: I don’t bother asking that question about Clinton. I expected her to cave and she did. A woman strong enough to stand against that tsunami of hatred has yet to make an appearance, unless Palin has more to say.

303

Griffin 11.07.08 at 6:00 pm

What I don’t get is why are we all even going on and on about all these issues? I understand the need to vent, but I feel as if we’re spinning our wheels. Do we all just need some more time to catch our breath before we start planning for the next stage of Puma’s evolution? When I feel this level of anger and frustration, I need to do something. I just don’t know what that is at this point. I guess I’m hoping we can start throwing out some ideas and then act on them. A little less re-hashing, a little more brain storming.
