Good evening PUMAS, after hours working for a cause greater than myself, I feel good at the same time sad. Two weeks while distributing flyers, I was verbally accosted by an old lady (late 60’s at least) and told me our flyer was downright lies. I remained calm while she continues her ranting and raving and finally I had to walk away. Around 6pm, I pulled to a gas station to fill up my tank (driving a whole lot for hours), she was there filling her gas tank too. I guess she must have remember me, I was wearing my “Democrats for McCain-Palin” pin. She approached me and said, “I’m very sorry, I was so mean to you, you were right I was wrong.” For two minutes I just look at her, my eyes do all the talking; before I enter my car I said to her, “Maam, next time before you accuse someone of lying, be very sure your Ts are crossed, your Is are dotted. I think I left her a lot of questions only she can answer. I wasn’t angry, I didn’t raise my voice, I was very calm. But frankly, I want to choke the living daylights out of her.

I lost my cellphone too! I don’t know where I’ve lost it. I called my cellphone provider, close my account and went to another company and bought a new cellphone and by the grace of God, I saved over for my monthly from here onwards! I feel better, that’s a lot of savings for me, for years I’ve been paying a little over 200 bucks for my cellphone for unlimited coverage, now, I only have to pay $88.33 for the same kind of plan! I’m charging the battery overnight, tomorrow that battery would be flat once I start phone banking for McCain.

I love love love this new setup, just haven’t developed the right habits for it yet.

Awwwwwwwwwwww Murphy, just so you know, Canadians (exclude Toronto here) do really like Americans. There is so much history between the two countries. And so many American soldiers who were stationed in Canada, married Canadian women after the two wars, that the US will always be a part of our history.

On a side note, I’ve been wanting to type this for a few days:
One thing about this entire election is that I’m very pleased to have met everyone here in PUMAland, and while I don’t always agree with everyone something important came out of this for me. That is an understanding of all the different viewpoints and personalities on the blog. Plus an admiration for how driven people are when they believe in something. But it’s more than believing its learning and questioning, and for me, I’ve learned more about the US political system from PUMA’s on this blog in a few short months than I ever could have through books or tv.

murphy i will be right here celebrating! but i wone be on till like 11…opera is 2.5 hrs and starts at 8…coming straight home afterwards!

Obama wants to send $850 billion taxpayers money to Africa every year. It will got to people like Odinga and to people to overthrow all the governments of Africa to form muslim communist countries as part of the muslim takeover of the world. I guess he hopes a few dollars will filter down to the school.

Obama does not feel. feelings are not of the intellect. love comes from the feelings. Obama does not feel therefore he knows not love. love gives. the intellect takes.

This is part of an article on Hillbuzz today. It is called three things BOites will do to demoralize McCain voters or something like that. It hought it was funny and it pretty well describes many of the BO supporters I have met.

“We also feel young voters are the Holy Grail of election delusions, because every Democrat, every election, claims “young people love me and will come out in record numbers to vote for me!”. Well, let us just tell you that early voting ended today in Chicago. In our building, there is a suite full of about 6 frat boys who sometimes stop us in the laundry room to talk politics. They are all hot DePaul hockey players, so we are glad to chat them up any time they want. All of them said they were going to vote for Obama, and all of them forgot to early vote. All of them have class and work on Tuesday. We honestly believe all 6 of these guys are going to forget to vote on Election Day — and the polling station for our neighborhood is literally one street away. We think this will happen not just with the hot hockey players in our building, but in many other buildings in Chicago, and in cities across the US.

As you move out of urban areas, it becomes more of a challenge to get to polling places, as they get further and further apart. That means college students, and Obama’s youth army, need to move further and further out of their daily norm to actually vote. With class, work, and Nintendo Wii, that becomes a big burden, especially since they’re going to whoop it up all Halloween weekend having an absolute drunken blast, and will have a lot to catch up on come Tuesday, since Monday they will be still hungover and not functional.

We’re astonished no one has ever thought of this before to explain why young people don’t turn up to vote in the numbers the media predicts: it’s because of Halloween. Not JUST because of Halloween, but Halloween has a lot to do with it, especially this year, when Halloween falls in perfect synch to form three days of wild, costumed debauchery. Monday is hangover day, which means nothing got done Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and now Monday, so Tuesday pressure builds to catchup on class or work or whatever.

Ironically, the Obamedia’s constant drumbeat that Obama’s so far ahead will, ironically, keep a lot of these people from actually voting — since they think he will win in a landslide without them, and one vote doesn’t matter. “Oh, we meant to vote, but we got, like, busy. And stuff.”

Increasing Racial Tension In Middle School as Election Turns Ugly

Over the past month I´ve seen a disturbing pattern taking place in my children´s middle school. We live in the outlying suburbs of Tampa Fl. The demographics here are middle to upper middle class divided fairly equal between different races and cultures. Race had never been an issue in the area we live. I had considered it a very progressive and forward thinking area. But over the past few weeks my child has come home with disturbing tales of increasing racism . My son has been called racist slurs such as cracker and whitey by a a black 6th grade boy. On another occasion my 12 year old son was called a F******* Racist for not loaning a black child a pencil. He has been told by the same black child that if my son lived in his neighborhood he would be dead! In addition to all this Children have been writing Go Bamako and Obama Rules on their Arms with Magic Markers. This week there were white and black children handing out handmade index cards some saying McCain Sucks and some saying Obama Rules. I find this disturbing mostly because it seems that the teachers are not doing anything about it. I really don´t know what to do about any of it. I worry about my kids going to school if things get much worse.

GEE, I wonder why the teachers aren’t doing anything! Hmmm…

I live in Washington, they call the election every year before our polls are even closed, we just ignore them and vote anyway. Think of Hawaii! Here are my suggestions as to what to do on election day. This weekend make 2 lists one of ten free things you love to do, one of ten things that cost money that you like to do. Then start working your way through them when the stress gets to you. Free ideas…look at old photographs, call friends but do not talk of stressful things, call older relative you rarely see, go for a walk in the falling leaves, watch the sunset. Ideas involving money… go to a movie, go out to eat, pick out a new book, buy new shoes, get your hair cut and colored. Keep thinking until you come up with ten on each list.

I could not agree more. No matter who wins we need to shut down ACORN and then attack Annenberg and the Woods fund and any other organization that has backed Ayers and Obama. These groups need to be shut down if they are like ACORN. If they are grant giving organizations like Annenberg and Woods, then they need to be held responsible for what ever they are doing with money that someone worked for and is now being indiscriminately given to just anyone no matter what the original founder intended.

However, he didn’t show up in any Google searches that I conducted, so I guess he isn’t ‘notorious’ enough to be found. I look at that as a good thing, however. On the surface,
that suggests he is just another citizen like the rest of us and has no particular ax to grind. However, he HAS done his homework before writing this editorial.

The New York Times carried a story on Saturday, October 4, 2008, that proved you had a significantly closer relationship with Bill Ayers than what you previously admitted. While the issue of your relationship is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America about it.

The Chicago Sun reported on May 8, 2008, that FBI records showed that you had a significantly closer relationship with Tony Rezko than what you previously admitted. In the interview, you said
that you only saw Mr. Rezko a couple of times a year. The FBI files showed that you saw him weekly. While the issue of your relationship is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America about it.

Your speech in Philadelphia on March 18, 2008, about ‘race’ contradicted your statement to Anderson Cooper on March 14 when you said that you never heard Reverend Wright make his negative
statements about white America. While your attendance at Trinity Church for 20 years is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America on March 14.

In your 1st debate with John McCain, you said that you never said that you would meet with the leaders of Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea without ‘preparations’ at lower levels … Joe
Biden repeated your words in his debate with Sarah Palin … while the video tape from your debate last February clearly shows that you answered ‘I would’ to the question of meeting with those leaders within 12 months without ‘any’ preconditions. You now claim that your reason for voting against funding for the troops was because the bill did not include a time line for withdrawal, while the video tapes of you from more than a year ago show that you voted against additional funding because
you wanted our troops to be removed immediately … not in 16 months after the 2008 election as you now claim. While your judgment about removing our troops unilaterally in 2007 is of concern, the greater concern is that you lied to America about your previous position.

You claim to have a record of working with Republicans while the record shows that the only bill that you sponsored with a Republican was with Chuck Lugar … and it failed. The record
shows that you vote 97% in concert with the Democrat party and that you have the most liberal voting record in the Senate. You joined
Republicans only 13% of the time in your votes and those 13% were only after agreement from the Democrat party. While it is of concern that you fail to include conservatives in your actions and
that you are such a liberal, the greater concern is that you distorted the truth.

In the primary debates of last February, 2008, you claimed to have talked with a ‘Captain’ of a platoon in Afghanistan ‘the other day’ when in fact you had a discussion in 2003 with a Lieutenant who had just been deployed to Afghanistan. You lied in that debate.

In your debates last spring, you claimed to have been a ‘professor of Constitutional law’ when in fact you have never been a professor of Constitutional law. In this last debate, you were careful to say that you ‘taught a law class’ and never mentioned being a ‘professor of Constitutional law.’ You lied last spring.

You and Joe Biden both claimed that John McCain voted against additional funding for our troops when the actual records show the opposite. You distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted against funding for alternate energy sources 20 times when the record shows that John McCain specifically voted against funding for bio fuels, especially corn … and he was right …. corn is too expensive at producing ethanol, and using corn to make ethanol increased the price of corn
from $2 a bushel to $6 a bushel for food. You distorted the truth.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted like both of you for a tax increase on those making as little as $42,000 per year while the voting record clearly shows that John McCain did not vote as you and Joe Biden. You lied to America.

You and Joe Biden claim that John McCain voted with George W. Bush 90% of the time when you know that Democrats also vote 90% of the time with the President (including Joe Biden) because the vast
majority of the votes are procedural. You are one of the few who has not voted 90% of the time with the president because you have been missing from the Senate since the day you got elected. While
your absence from your job in the Senate is of concern, the greater concern is that you spin the facts.

You did not take an active role in the rescue plan. You claimed that the Senate did not need you while the real reason that you abstained was because of your close relationships with the
executives of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Countrywide, and Acorn … who all helped cause the financial problems of today … and they all made major contributions to your campaign. While your relationship with these executives and your protection of them for your brief 3 years in the Senate (along with Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters, and Chris Dodd) is of concern, the
greater concern is that you are being deceitful.

You forgot to mention that you personally represented Tony Rezko and Acorn. Tony Rezko, an Arab and close friend to you, was convicted of fraud in Chicago real estate transactions that
bilked millions of tax dollars from the Illinois government for renovation projects that you sponsored as a state senator … and Acorn has been convicted of voter fraud, real estate sub prime loan intimidation, and illegal campaign contributions. Tony Rezko has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to your political campaigns. You personally used your political positions to steer money to both Tony Rezko and Acorn and you used Acorn to register
thousands of phony voters for Democrats and you. While your relationships with Rezko and Acorn are of concern, the greater concern is that you omitted important facts about your relationships with them to America.

During your campaign, you said: ‘typical white person.’ ‘They cling to their guns and religion.’ ‘They will say that I am black.’ You played the ace card. You tried to label any criticism about
you as racist. You divide America.

You claim that you will reduce taxes for 95% of America, but you forgot to tell America that those reductions are after you remove the Bush tax reductions. You have requested close to $1 billion in earmarks and several million for Acorn. Your social programs will cost America $1 trillion per year and you claim that a reduction
in military spending ($100 billion for Iraq) can pay for it. While your economic plan of adding 30% to the size of our federal government is of concern, the greater concern is that you are deceiving America.

The drain to America’s economy by foreign supplied oil is $700 billion per year (5% of GDP) while the war in Iraq is $100 billion (less than 1% of GDP). You voted against any increases to oil exploration for the last 3 years and any expansion of nuclear facilities. Yet today, you say that you have always been for more oil and more nuclear. You are lying to America.

Mr. Obama, you claimed that you ‘changed’ your mind about public financing for your campaign because of the money spent by republican PACs in 2004. The truth is that the Democrat PACs in
2004, 2006, and 2008 spent twice as much as the Republican PACs (especially George Soros and MoveOn.org). You are lying to America.

Mr. Obama, you have done nothing to stop the actions of the teachers union and college professors in the USA. They eliminated religion from our history. They teach pro gay agendas and discuss sex with students as young as first grade. They bring their personal politics into the classrooms. They disparage conservatives. They brainwash our children. They are in it for
themselves ….. not America. Are you reluctant to condemn their actions because teachers/professors and the NEA contribute 25% of
all money donated to Democrats and none to Republicans? You are deceiving America.

Oh, Mr. Obama, Teddy Roosevelt said about a hundred years ago that we Americans should first look at the character of our leaders before anything else.

Your character looks horrible. While you make good speeches, motivating speeches, your character does not match your rhetoric. You talk the talk, but do not walk the walk.

1. You lied to America. You lied many times. You distorted facts. You parsed your answers like a lawyer.

2. You distorted the record of John McCain in your words and in your advertisements.

3. You had associations with some very bad people for your personal political gains and then lied about those associations.

4. You divide America about race and about class.

Now let me compare your record of lies, distortions, race baiting, and associations to John McCain: War hero. Annapolis graduate with
‘Country first.’ Operational leadership experience like all 43 previously elected presidents of the USA as a Navy officer for 22
years. 26 years in the Senate. Straight talk. Maverick. 54% of the time participated on bills with Democrats. Never asked for an earmark. The only blemish on his record is his part in the
Keating 5 debacle about 25 years ago.

Mr. Obama, at Harvard Law School, you learned that the end does not justify the means. You learned that perjury, false witness, dishonesty, distortion of truth are never tolerated. Yet, your dishonesty is overwhelming. Your dishonesty is tremendously greater than the dishonesty that caused the impeachment and disbarment of Bill Clinton. Your dishonesty is tremendously greater than the dishonesty of Scooter Libby. You should be ashamed.

Mr. Obama, it is time for us Americans to put aside our differences on political issues and vote against you because of your dishonest
character. It is time for all of us Americans to put aside our political issues and vote for America first. It is time for America to vote for honesty.

Any people who vote for you after understanding that you are dishonest should be ashamed of themselves for making their personal political issues more important than character. Would these
same people vote for the anti-Christ if the anti-Christ promised them riches? Would they make a golden calf while Moses was up the mountain? Would they hire some one for a job if that someone lied in an interview? Of course not. So why do some of these people justify their votes for you even though they know you are dishonest? Why do they excuse your dishonesty? Because some
of these people are frightened about the future, the economy, and their financial security …. and you are preying on their fears with empty promises … and because some (especially our young people) are consumed by your wonderful style and promises for ‘change’ like the Germans who voted for Adolf Hitler in 1932. The greed/envy by Germans in 1932 kept them from recognizing Hitler for who he was. They loved his style. Greed and envy are keeping many Americans from recognizing you … your style has camouflaged your dishonesty …. but many of us see you for who you really are … and we will not stop exposing who you are every day, forever if it is necessary.

Mr. Obama, you are dishonest. Anyone who votes for you is enabling dishonesty.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I was real hurt the first time I had a similar experience, but now I’m getting used to it.

You are not alone. Many PUMAs have friends and family who are looking at us differently because we are not supporting Obama.

Yup, Gypsy. It gets me every time he uses those lines for some reason. I think part of it has to do with the fact that Hillary used that same “fighter” strategy, albeit late in her campaign but that’s when she really started to catch fire. Obama says he didn’t know aunt’s illegal status

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says he didn’t know that one of his relatives was living in the United States illegally and believes the appropriate laws should be followed.

The Associated Press found that Obama’s aunt had been instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya. The woman, Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama’s late father.

A statement given to the AP by Obama’s campaign Saturday says, “Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed.”

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Barack Obama’s aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), referred to as “Aunti Zeituni” in the Democratic presidential candidate’s memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango’s case.

Onyango, 56, is Obama’s late father’s half-sister, the Obama campaign has confirmed. She is not a relative whom Obama, 47, has discussed in campaign appearances and, unlike Obama’s father and his maternal grandmother, is not someone who has been part of the public discussion about his personal life.

The Obama campaign declined to comment late Friday night.

Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one a federal law enforcement official. The information they made available is known to officials in the federal government, but the AP could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved in its release.

Onyango’s refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, noncriminal violation of immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system. Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the U.S.

According to Federal Election Commission documents filed by the Obama campaign, Onyango has contributed $260 to Obama over a period of time. Under federal election law, only U.S. citizens or green-card holders are legally permitted to give money to campaigns. Onyango, who listed her employer as the Boston Housing Authority, gave in small increments to the Obama campaign. Her latest contribution was $5 on Sept. 19.

The AP could not immediately reach Onyango for comment. When a reporter went to her home Friday night, no one answered the door. A neighbor said she was often not home on the weekend. Onyango did not immediately return telephone and written messages left at her home. It was unclear why her request for asylum was rejected in 2004.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Kelly Nantel, said the government does not comment on an individual’s citizenship status or immigration case.

Onyango’s case _ coming to light just days before the presidential election _ led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring that any deportations before Tuesday’s election be approved at least at the level of the agency’s regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.

The unusual directive suggests that the administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango’s case coming to light so close to the election.

The East African nation has been fractured in violence in recent years, including a period of two months of bloodshed after December 2007 that killed 1,500 people.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said Saturday that he had no idea how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order. He said he’s not involved in the operations of the agency, even though he appoints the head, because it runs mainly on federal and state dollars.

William McGonagle, deputy director of the Boston Housing Authority, said when contacted: “I know nothing about it and I’ve got no comment.”

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state shows Obama with 51% of the vote while McCain picks up 47%. That four-point advantage for Obama is down from a seven-point margin earlier in the week and a 13-point advantage for Obama earlier in the month.

Just 75% of Pennsylvania Democrats now support their party’s nominee, down from 86% in the previous survey…

You look at McCain’s resume, which is massive, and includes actual military service, and a passion for protecting America. Then you look at Obama’s resume, which is thin, with gaps of time not explained, and very questionable references and associations that represent challenges to America’s ideology and security. His rate of absenteeism and tardiness in the Senate alone would make most potential employees in the “forget” list.
It’s really a no-brainer!

I was in a meeting the other day and the principal’s secretary was telling everyone how excited her 18 year old daugher who attends Brown University was to vote for the first time (I’m sure she voted for BO). Another teacher in the room said it was so wonderful to see all these young people so enthusiastic to vote, too bad adults lacked that enthusiasm. To which I replied, well that’s because adults know it’s all fixed. Two other teachers looked at me from across the room and smiled and winked in agreement. I’m almost certain they will not be voting for BO. Yes, I think there are many silent people out there, who have not been polled, who are going about their business and who know the score.

Just 75% of Pennsylvania Democrats now support their party’s nominee, down from 86% in the previous survey. Obama is doing a bit better among unaffiliated voters while Republican support for McCain remains steady.

Democratic nominee John Kerry narrowly won Pennsylvania four years ago and both candidates have spent a lot of time here this past week. The Keystone State is the only state won by Kerry four years ago that is at all competitive in the final days of Election 2008. Although McCain is gaining in the state, this is the fourth consecutive poll to show Obama attracting more than 50% of the vote.

McCain is now viewed favorably by 55% of Pennsylvania voters, Obama by 54%. Those figures reflect a five-point improvement for McCain from the beginning of the month and a five-point decline for Obama.

Well, that is my views of the biased polls anyways…..

My view on Pennsylvania….

I was born in a small city in Southwestern PA. While I have lived all over the US, most of my relatives still live in the area. And most of them are Democrats. The PA Democrats outside of Philadelphia and some parts of Pittsburgh are more like the Blue Dog Democrats of the South; Reagan Democrats.

Obama will win in Philadelphia. And he will probably carry Pittsburgh proper (the City of Pittsburgh itself has a population of a little over a half million). But Obama will not win PA. And the reason has NOTHING to do with race. Nothing.

PA Democrats are very patriotic. A large number of them are veterans. They are more liberal on social issues and labor issues than Republicans, but they are every bit as conservative when it comes to issues like the ecomony and the military. And they value experience. PA has the second largest retired population in the Country, behind Florida. They have the largest population of retired veterans in the country.

PA is by and large the epitome of the melting pot. It was job opportunities that causes its population to swell both before and after the Great Depression. Poles, Italians, Serbs, Corats, Russians, Jews, Germans, the Irish and other ethnic groups were drawn to the area. Steel workers, coal miners, textile and factory workers, farmers – you name it. Any occupation requiring hard labor drew the people willing to perform those tasks.

Strong family values, particularly outside of the two large cities. Strong religious roots. A state where hunting is a family tradition – more hunters take to the woods every year than perhaps any other state. I can remember in some areas, opening day of deer season was a school holiday, out of necessity. No one showed up for school!

Pennsylvania Democrats are JFK Democrats. They are not Obama Democrats. Yes, Obama will get over 90% of the black vote, but that is less than 20% of the total vote.

The only risk I see to a McCain victory is voter fraud – PA has a huge number of colleges and universities, and students from all over the US attend school in the State. If the shenanigans that happened in Ohio with non resident students are going on in PA, that is going to warp the vote.

Without the influence of voter fraud, I do not see Obama taking Pennsylvania.

Truth is obama is going to lose this election and mccain is going to get a large electoral count. The battleground states are all going to go to mccain the only one that is iffy and mccain will still win is virginia. Includes pennsylvania going red. They have pumped obama up like an inflatable parrot and the air is coming out of him. Don’t allow his propaganda machine to get you down. The obamites paid bloggers and his campaign went all out with propaganda and it is not going to work. Both the republican and democrat establishment are afaid of mccain and palin. They are going to stand for the average American and they are going to start moving this country in the right direction. We are going to be proud of what they will accomplish. Exit polls in Florida, Nevada and other states show that many democrats who have already voted have voted for mccain/palin. We the people both republicans and democrats came together at a crucial time in America’s history and elected 2 mavericks who are going to shake up this country for the better. We are all proving together that we can shake the division between parties and work together for the betterment of our great country. To all the dems and repubs who formed this alliance I salute everyone of you. You are all great Americans. You have not yet realized the part each one of you paid in saving this country from extremism. Turn out the vote and continue your hard work. Then relax and enjoy Tuesday night. They are going to try and do the same crap they did during the Primaries, but this time we are aware, and they are not going to get away with it. Too bad, we could have saved Hillary…and the two superdelegates who lost their lives Ms. Tibbs, and the guy who got shot in his office in Little Rock, Arkansas, remember that. Grizzly on the FIRE doc/pdf, I’ve never seen this particular doc, though I followed that case when it was in the news. When I read the first line of the doc though, I had a flash of recognition. White Supremacy is in part of the name of Ayers’ & Dorhn’s new book, due out in Jan. ‘09.

The connections here, back and forth, are clear for anyone to see. This is NOT an either-or thing. This is a movement. If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.
